I have James Bradberry walked up the reporters yesterday and said that he wants a new contract wasn't going to hold out during many Doesn't view himself as somebody would hold out the training Either wrapped up minicamp overall for the summer. As of right now, but once a new deal because he has one year left obviously doesn't want to play a franchise tag next year and he started pretty much his entire tenure with the Panther Panthers but I don't think that's enough for you to get a big deal or at least get what he wants because he's talking to Joe person of the athletic saying he's one of the best corners in the NFL is not even the best quarter on this team, let alone one of the best in the NFL.they Jackson over James Bradberry and on top of that corners and wide receivers in my mind are the two most expendable.

Every down positions you will find in football. If you're going to give a big contract to a wide receiver or corner. You better have a rookie quarterback on contract on his rookie deal you the nonplayer at that position. James not check out in either of those boxes.

Cam Newton is not of his rookie deal and he's not a number one or number two corner in the NFL since he's not even the best corner on this team. There are just so many more at those positions wide receiver in corner so many more cheaper reliable options elsewhere than paying the player on his second deal and paying the time for a player like Bradberry, you can get. That's like the Panthers did to the 2015 theme song guys like Roman Harper song guys like Mike Adams sign players of that caliber The Mundelein versus signing this kind of corner to his next deal doesn't make much sense to me. So here's what I do.

I let them play out the season. What you did with Devon punches last year. Devon punches he was another player at this time last year we were talking about are the Panthers going to give him his next contract. Oh we started pretty much his entire career, but much like Bradberry.

I didn't really think Devon punches was a standout player deserve a second contract. I just did it and I feel the same way about Bradberry for like you could re-create this production with somebody else might already be on the roster. If it's a Sean Golden or corn elder beyond this next season and what say he does play great you let them play out this year.

Let's say he is terrific. Let's say he's even better than.they Jackson is franchise tag franchise either next year and then let them what you get two more years of control for James Bradberry. There's no reason to give James Bradberry big money because that's what he's looking for he's looking for money that would justify him being quote number one corner for an NFL team. Even though he's not the number one corner on this team and he's not even a top 15 corner in the NFL.

He just isn't so. I don't give in this contract.

Any way shape or form. I don't care what really happens this season. You don't give him the big deal because he plays corner and you have cam Newton to worry about with his contract coming up the money should not be going to James Bradberry in any way I'd be worrying about things that matter. You know, Jack Thompson, cam Newton, those guys come first before you get the JB is from looking at the quarterback contract right now NFL to come to gauge of what kind of big money were talking about here and I don't baby and Howard sounds crazy with the dolphins of 75 million about 15 per looking at the contracts the top two guys are actually saving Howard and Josh Norman, who we all know you're very welcome. He's going to 15 million, but after that it's really anywhere between 15 and probably about 13 million per is what you're looking at for the top paid eight quarterbacks in the league not work, not willing to pay James Bradberry 13+ million dollars a year to play cornerback.

I wanted look what Gerald McCoy is getting his base between eight and $9 million right with the incentives will go up the tent right there's no way I would justify paying its closest what Gerald McCoy is making James Bradberry's probably not going to accept that based on what his agents told him to say in these things that James Bradberry is not worth it and you don't agree with this premise, but it's fine. Josh Norman while the way things blew up as a black eye on Dave Gettleman's resume a a a blemish there. The concept his philosophy of not giving Josh Norman a big deal was justified like you should not of rescinded the franchise tag you should let them plate on it and then let them walk because corners or not worth this kind of money they just aren't. I can't think of a corner who's been in the league last 10 years who I'd be willing to justify pay paying 12 the $13 million you just list of the ones at the top. I would pay 12, $13 million.

One of those guys maybe Xavier Rhodes from the Viking's not important. I don't think any of them are worth that much Peterson. I don't think they are that's that's me because wide receiver in corner those two positions that are so there's so much athleticism that you will find out of the draft. There are so many fats that you could get on one or two year cheaper deals and get production that might not be equal to what Xavier Rhodes or Patrick Peterson gives you but the drop-off is not that significant but the issue with me with the whole Josh Norman Gelman situation wasn't what you said was willing to pay Josh Norman pages had not gotten to that point with eight written agreements and then really, his agent is what caused him to yank the soft table, really out of shape because they were to pay him the franchise but they want to give them the big deal people because Dave Gettleman understood look at his entire track record.

There's two positions he did not pay but we don't wide receiver in corner. He never did it. He has done in New York when he did he traded them away, but we have invited give it contract to wide receiver quarterback with the Panthers. All of it was people he was bringing from the street from the job like he had no one to give a big contract to wide receiver or corn just did Steve Smith thesis of Emma's curriculum. Given never extended Steve Smith. They just let them walk because he said I could find another wide receiver could do what you do production what was right. He never felt he was right because I hear they didn't need it. The following two years.

They had playoff seasons after Smitty left, don't say that they replaces is this production really didn't they didn't replace the production of snow waited like right, but none of the way that it what he was expendable.

Steve Smith now as for Bradberry while he is expendable. Wide receivers are wide receiver in the NFL that is expendable are the times got Julio Jones Julio Jones when he got hurt the Falcons to one-game like they make the playoffs in 2017, with the battle offensive coordinator who just got fired and Julio Jones caught one touchdown pass that year's right so again I don't think there's any wide receiver that isn't expendable in the NFL same way about corners. I'm not. I don't look at any position NFL is a expendable position by coming there's positions all over the field where people on that one got it on the rough motivate.

I got expendable now in terms of Bradberry. I would have an issue with the pain of nine 2 million a year, but not on a long-term deal by a two-year three year deal, yet you get a team option after your to what we can cut American second-year fees not performing the main issue contract language Josh Norman sign. He's 32 years old, like eat. He's past the peak point NFL of where you want to be age wise, and they still on the hook for 929 when his contract when upright and it was a $75 million a day. Gettleman was right.

Don't give him the contract. Don't do it. He should not of rescinded the franchise tax but corners and wide receivers to most expendable. Every down positions were still taking movie lines.

By the way on twitter exports of tribal for that Joe Wilde's way and just a bit. Joe I will join us as – baseballs on the air at 7 o'clock.

Here's an example of a call. He had last week. Give me the crème de la crème the best that you have in your desk is one of his guys is elegant, stands 510, 175. Certain guys can make it work in the baseball world by being a certain in a certain way for me personally, I'm just one stomach flu away from microwave your Movieline your spinach is at sports on dryad you can send those in on twitter and will throw that Joe Wilde's way of Marty getting a handful of good ones from the audience.

Drives brought you apart my friends at Twin Peaks. The NBA finals tonight. I can't think of a better place to watch the finals. I was there on Hanes Mall Boulevard for game five. As Katie went down TVs all across the place I had delicious wings.

You could have them to Hanes Blvd. in Winston-Salem.

Twin Peaks eats, drinks, scenic views, I think a hammer is about to be dropped in college basketball. That's our get a kick off Sharon with Darren Vaught next talk about how this is 609 20. Now back to the drive Josh Graham Wickersham have found today.com with the college basketball bombshell say that at least six college programs will be notified of major NCAA violations by the end of this summer name which one specifically but in the headline. The last two years.

It should really surprise anybody.

I think when it comes down to the desert, staring at me suggesting it might be somebody look up your eyes are your facial expression.

There it looked like the I hate Duke look and I'm suspicious of Mike know anything about Duke at all, but I mean just look over the top for five schools that have got all the top 10 recruits over the past for five years.

All the while the trip well just follow the reporting of Dan Wetzel follow the reporting of Dennis Dodd or Sharon with Darren Vaught. By the way Darren Vaught stepped into the studio and is waiting patiently you can follow him on Twitter at Darren Vaught.

This is all surrounding the violations from schools and the federal government investigation. The FBI looking to college basketball. I don't know about you Darren, but I feel like the NCAA's going to lay down the hammer because the NCAA did not do the investigation here date they have the ammunition now that they normally don't have because they don't have an investigation to box usually it's it's like the Miami Shapiro case where they try to do the investigating do a poor job so much so that they have to let Miami off Scott free. That's that's what this is. Here and not scot-free. Usually they can't because they botched the investigation.

The FBI already took care of all that they did the heavy lifting.

And now, since the federal investigation is finished. They just simply passed along what they found the NCAA and it seems like to me that the FBI is going to be better at this. You know, investigation, think in the NCAA out the federal Bureau of investigation better at investigating things that someone else right now. There's a lot a novel thought I I like you can envision a world where when these notices of allegations come out in what is July that is is reported, yes, I can envision something ground shaking my only thing Josh is I don't know what that is like when you say lay down the hammer. I don't because of the unprecedented nature of this overhaul of collegiate athletics that is is in the process of happening. I don't know how to contextualize that is what I think it's going to look like. I think were to be talking about scholarship reductions.

As Dennis Dodd reported and we've seen the NCAA hand down postseason bands. They did on.

I think Louisville for years ago Syracuse had a Yukon dealt with it. I see postseason bands being handed out, and I think some of these decisions are gonna lead to coaches getting fired and I'm immediately looking at two schools I'm looking at Kansas and I'm looking at Arizona. Those two specifically Sean Miller if you look at the details. Ice will have no idea how he has a job you the reason the only thing I could come up with is he defended himself very forcefully, which led to the Board of Trustees of the Regents board putting together a a contract that had it if Sean Miller was found guilty of what the FBI is alleging is here are the reporting is alleging is here that he has to not only get fired. He has to give $1 million back to Arizona so there's there's things in place here were people already skeptical at Arizona and setting up a situation where he's being asked so those would be the to quote big time programs as indicated by the reporting by Dennis.I saw him use that language right to me, that would assumedly have to be Kansas and Arizona.

But how many other cases have we seen that were skeptical of AMI like will weighted LSU is another one that I there's no way in my mind that he's not involved in this at some level, and ultimately loses his job at LSU there just been so many that have come out. That's my point. It's just it's not pervasive, but God seems to be awfully close to that right yet what you do with Louisville Louisville.

They the people who were responsible.

Louisville got rid of so Gerrit just gone. Patino was gone. If you want to depended on Bobby Petrenko because he's an easy target. He's gone.

Even though that's a different sport to stick to joke your Louisville for hear from you a lot the last 336-777-1600 on twitter at sports on dryad before we get to Joe Wilde once Movieline's let's go to Ed in Winston-Salem very quickly add what you got on this report from Dennis Dodd and what the NCAA might do would simply ask around.

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on that yet. I think the two schools worked on the opener talking about and I'm really Anderson right thing. But you know if they've done what they said they don't they deserve to get a bit I think you're exactly right. Joshua can and Arizona heart it to the need to get it first and then you talk about Louisville, LSU, Auburn, San Miguel, and then we got NC state that I think eventually will get hammered here too, but I think all these are called to be level I violation so they fit in level I violation you're looking at a lot of the scholarship postseason bands and also your show calls were coaches can be far and I really appreciate you guys up with this on the air because this is something been long overdue and handed to me is really an old admin Dragon ground and let me just give you a prime example, will it will just use Arizona sample and say that they get the allegations and you only go through everything but drag it out after the NCAA tournament. How would you feel if your favorite team was playing for the championship and Arizona one and then they come back later and say well Arizona your guilty were going to penalize you bombing it doesn't do your team and fan base and coaches you know any justice at all. I hope they get resolved before you know the NCAA tournament going on that hopefully it will will see if it does come down in the next few weeks, but there is a fan base that can asked that question specifically its Michigan who based Louisville and they tore down that banner. I mean Michigan can't call themselves the chance but you can look at that situation and say ma'am well all the things that were happening there.

Maybe we should have been the champions that year. Let's go to Andrew and Clemens as well Andrew what you got well for me. I think that all these bands are really $30 because if you're talking about Kansas and Arizona distilled top-tier programs, onion, Arizona will again recruit recruits and the guy from Canada that just got it all, the player distilled. He already and he's got a two-year suspension for taking $20,000 and in my opinion Mark Amber is just running the flesh are basically where they're getting all this revenue and all this money from players where they'll you get compensated for so many things I love the kids get paid a little bit and worth their time. You're going to always have these scandals throughout the entire entire college we can't have it that way. Unfortunately, there are rules and you have to follow them right like agree with the concept of it right lay in and no one is.

No one is saying Mark Emmert is the plate the picture-perfect Commissioner human being or or whatever, but he kind of stepped into an environment where what what Andrew has a problem with it was already the case to it. To a large large degree, but had brought up something at the beginning that I thought was very important. This is dragged on to the point where people aren't even talking about this today because again this is something we've been talking about for 17 months and we haven't had much tangible to grab onto. Actually, it's been more than 17 months it's been closer to 20 and 21 months that this has been a story and people been saying this is doomsday for college basketball and no heads up and rolling other than the initial one right from the jump. That being, of course, Rick Patino, but now that the FBI has finished its investigation, the NCAA hives the ammunition to do something significant and it's not just fans calling for something to happen and phone callers on radio shows, coaches are calling for accountability because now the integrity of the sport is is mainstream news being question and it reminds me a lot of what we saw with the afflicted with Tom Brady to be quite honest with you, where the NFL didn't have a lot on Brady really didn't have a lot but they saw an opportunity where the leak was skeptical about Robert Kraft's relationship with Roger Caddell.

They saw an opportunity to send a message to say no where not partial to the patriots were not to have our integrity of our game question working to make Tom Brady an example working to suspend him for four games. The biggest face.

Our sport has to offer college basketball has this issue right now where a lot of people in a national way are talking about just the integrity of the sport. The NCAA has ammunition to lay down the hammer and have incentive from coaches within the sport and also protecting the brand to which can't be overlooked and what you just said comes into play. I think with Louisville to write me and you mention what they do with Louisville because literally no one responsible for the violations at Louisville is still there.

If there's more to be uncovered there in the in the FBI investigation and they are in fact one of the programs it gets involved in this but that's just it.

You make the statement right you make an example of six and at some point, maybe it turns into Tanner a dozen programs and no matter who is there no matter what you lay down the proverbial hammer just to get everybody's attention and that immediate they would have to be included in that right you can't. You can't just skip over a program that's already self corrected and that in that instance, I don't think I don't think so either send in your movie lines on Twitter at sport sub dryad getting a lot of them right now. Some I really like at sport sub dryad barons, clapping his hands.

He's ready to go live on the baseball movie lines with the voice of the disaster while next on the drive lives with just 600 going show you while Darren every week to play a song to see if you could just type in a fire right up to field first day birthday. What I'm talking about getting a lot of movie lines in here right now at sport triad including one that we might dig up audio to find this, but degenerate King suggests hey lady looking for some biscuits from the Jake the loan. Bojangles commercial grade in the alleyway coat to reveal the biscuit. Hey lady was a biscuits and what were going to keep well done on Twitter will revisit more of these in the second but Joe during five-county right now aren't you exactly right. Great great commercial line right there. I never got a good just as great jingles commercials from 1015 years ago. Joe Wilde will be on the call tonight little bit later on – mud cats intense Carolina league rivalry five-county Stadium and when I five-county that's probably the second deck five-county Stadium.

Probably my favorite view and watching baseball because it's it to paint the picture. It's it doesn't go backwards on the second deck from below the first or on top of the first stack on top of each other so you can be sitting at the front of the second deck and sitting right behind home plate right pretty amazing view your hideout. Get everything and go one on top of another's old a little bit different than BB&T ballpark where it does feel pretty separated from that lower bowl to the upper ball different. It's really on top of the players to speak them as much as you can really in a baseball event but with the minor league stadium where there is no peak in the outfield. What's your favorite vantage point you broadcast from anything come to mind immediately. All favorite or memorable because I have an easy memorable one but it goes back a little way.

Okay, so before I got in the professional fence I broadcasted on the Cape and the Cape Cod baseball league and buried a stadium for the where Bateman and where we broadcast was actually essentially on top of the bleachers, which was right near the third base dugout. We were we were on the high metal thing where we got a very interesting view… Getting it from valve vault with an actual green that was brought up and put there that we were safe screen with not enough like one of where you have a baby can be completed behind a runner or like where the put out at second base, but still think flex is still the claimant that was what we had and I remember not only were we wrong metal bleachers on top of the third base dugout and it started to rain and light in the distance you could see some lightning and I remember wondering if my my my career to come to an end right then that as a 21-year-old on the most memorable experience right Baseball game, but now let's get to Joe Wilde's work from last week before we get to the movie lines. He will be trying to work into his play-by-play a little bit later on tonight.

The segment has grown very popular within the – and also in our audience. It's a win-win for everybody because it's funny and it's challenging for Joe who likes challenges the – get this exposure in this love of something fun and the audience wins ultimately to let's hear what Joe did last week, but the rest of the southern side of the life out of Myrtle Beach, being seven and 17 against Southern division.

The rest saying I drink your milkshake Joe I drink it so great if you know the movie that's perfect.

It's a good way to work that will what's the next one you have right to strike goes down one out say they is fully twice in terms of where to squeeze it into the broadcast Joe. I feel like it was a little bit of a layup work. It was good.

Why that it was somebody breaking ball.

Go try to make sure it was actually an organic workout and the last of Joe Wilde's calls from last week is one of the smaller guys in this pelican stands 510, 175 guys can make it work in the baseball world by being a certain a certain way for me personally, I'm just one stomach flu away from microwave or spinach, though perfectly polished, perfectly broadcaster. It's awesome though, let's get to what were doing this week and I want to challenge you, Joe. I want to know you're up for a challenge going alright so Gianna Reeves is the hottest thing in Hollywood. Somehow, right now, like the guy was big in the 90s to thousands, then head of an 11 year gap where you put out zero good movies and then now is the hottest thing. It is a sex icon at 54 years old was like in this Netflix movie as the hunky love interest playing himself like it's a weird thing that Youngs is in this place, but speaking of Kiana reason this Excel you take the blue pill as you wake up and leave whatever you want to blend you take the red pill to stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes man really long is very long.

No long so there's either that or I could give you to infinity and beyond all my God. Geology.

Let's save to infinity and beyond because Toy Story four comes out but another couple weeks.

Toy Story Toy Story four comes out next week, next week, next week, that's correct. Yes.

So can't do you think Darren let me ask you, do you think he can handle a line of that length. He has handled everything we thrown his way.

So far, with the exception of like maybe one the disciple I would send you have to write it down. I don't think it's hard when the work in. It's just long. I don't think it's a hard and you have to have Joe you would just have to have it like on an index card.

Just ready to roll right now with regrets it all right you take the blue pill.

The story ends.

You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe in you take the red pill you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep hole goes Darren what you have.

I'm tapping into a childhood favorite of mine.

The little rascals, this is Mike this is my guy stymie who said, quote babes or like a bad song once you get them stuck in your head. You can't get them out again to get Joe to get all sad about. I thought about it, so all I just saw her very personal way. We have the Bojangles biscuits like and we hear that one more time. This is from the Jake below Bojangles commercial with the guy in an alley way opening up his coat to reveal biscuits. Hey lady, you looking for some biscuits and Darren you let me know which of these from the audience you like best.

This will be the last we dip Jessica Wrightson talk to me brother got a lifetime and knowledge from she's the man made up by Amanda Bynes.

I got this one. Nobody puts baby in a corner and Brent Wrightson from roadhouse for the better to go with this one without even hearing the one for the work. I thought you'd be bigger beltline for the win. All right, so there you have your four lines this week. You take the blue pill. The story ends. You wake up in your own bed and believe whatever you want to believe and to take the red pill you stay in Wonderland and I show you the rabbit hole goes Darren strong with little rascals and then you have of course hey lady, you looking for some biscuits and we have roadhouse for that for that line of work I thought you'd be bigger so is your set out to Josh Graham and Darren bought for this the week that I'm actually filling in the broadcast of the board so all of this guys were doing the longest lines I got tired. That makes things easier. Actually, all or you might miss it easier to mess but if it's long like that.

There's no reason goes into this soliloquy babes or like a bad song and then continues like that should be pretty easy. Joe how you feeling I'm going to my vocal ready but you know what we have had for carefully over the last thought maybe all the energy that I saved up from from not calling it all right to have the call thinks that that's the voice of the – to while love that attitude, a real champ.

Joe_while – baseball Thursday night, 7 o'clock movie lines from the show being factored in them will play that back tomorrow as the – are in Zebulun facing those pesky mud cats is a great view five-county Stadium.

One of my favorite minor league parks. I do enjoy the water tower it's painted up with the money that's logo like a baseball so it has the scenes on it so I enjoy that very much you you are listening to the sports however wherever you are listening. We appreciate that if you missed any of today show the best of podcast you can find it on SoundCloud iTunes Apple podcast Google play and other things. Quite frankly, I've never heard of before. But where you get podcast were there to search the driver, Josh Graham or WSG transports out the sports are made up of the signals WSG Winston-Salem WC energy Greensboro WPC in Burlington WMF or High Point to live with Josh Graham 920. What a neat thing that was in St. Louis last night though the blues didn't win on home ice. They wanted Boston, but that didn't stop blues fans packing their hockey arena baseball stadium in the rain to watch their team when their first ever Stanley Cup St. Louis Blues on top of wonderful story is where Sharon went Darren, speaking of the team that buys that baseball stadium in honor of the blue we are trying to figure out the Nickelback's of the St. Louis Cardinals are and the Cardinals. This is an interesting one. They won a World Series right in the middle of the 2000s. They are a team. I think have some fun options here and if you think you have team players that would qualify for throwback Thursday baseball segment you could tweet us at sports and try it. I think there's a name you have to get to right from the jump were getting this on twitter and it's the most logical choice. It's the best choice because he's the current manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, but in the 2000 checks the box of leadoff catcher.

If you're a leadoff catcher more than likely you qualify for this list on the curve.

I'm of course talking about Mike Matheny.

I think we need to. He was a little obvious all say, by the way, I didn't even include him. I've got a list that does not include Mike Matheny but but here's something we need to do that.

We haven't done in the past with this list looking for guys who are in the 2000's players aren't the best guys but are memorable and were nostalgic about baseball. So there's just names that resonate with us from that decade 2000 to 2009, but will even extended to 2014 so that way we we covered the entire amount of time Nickelback was putting out music that some people thought was good.

336-777-1600 if you want in on today show, but we haven't done is we need to just go through and disqualify guys right from the jump. We usually figure out the hard way that somebody's either too good or too obscure the obvious ones that need to be disqualified. Albert pull holes course Jim Edmonds chair Johnny or Melina Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright those guns that need to be disqualified as the else that you would say, is disqualified. I'm glad you said it that way and only included those guys because I don't know that there were a lot of players that don't qualify. And it sounds weird, because I've got.

I had a feeling this one would be a controversial team for us to do this because I have a couple of World Series MVPs. If you're online later to say a player who won that 2006 MVP a player that played shortstop.

I'm going to push back on this art so to be clear, he's my favorite baseball player ever really setting this up because bid your book though were talking about dead areas. Though I did over to my favorite baseball player ever. Josh and it's because he shouldn't be anyone's favorite baseball player ever, never ever sit in the big league roster to keep a log of this is not saying we got to say is like this guys the Ringo Starr of baseball. Okay so is it the guy baseball like Zooey Deschanel and my favorite movie 500 days of summer weight.

Ringo is your favorite Beatle.

Nobody likes Ringo is why I like him and that's why it was her favorite Beatle.

Who are you talking about I'm of course talking about two-time World Series champion David Eckstein not not accept not going to accept it though because I'm okay with that. Only because he's my favorite player ever.

So I like when people acknowledge that he was good but just know that I love David Eckstein because he wasn't ever supposed to be good like he had to walk on to make a team at Florida. He just did. He his size and strength like he never should've been a viable big leader and he won a World Series MVP like I love this story batted 281 World Series MVP. He was on the cover of Sports Illustrated got a massive contract with the San Diego Padres, he still got the only made the All-Star team twice because there are so many great shortstop. She was playing short hard to make the All-Star team is a sure a lot of their Lotta good bands. Josh people just kind of like the Lotta band rather than Nickelback if if Dave and Glenn had this guy then will do it the same way we argued in squabbled. If you know who was the twin we got really mad a lot of guys are so upset over. I got out of Michael Dyer T-shirt what the true story is affiliated with USA baseball like he's a teammate of mine, a colleague, Michael Dyer and Aston Morneau, T-shirt the only hit 35 home runs for his career after he was scrappy little shortstop and Clemens what you got for our throwback Cardinals day with career why that is a good one. Now he counts the counts Red Sox afterward, but that's okay. How are you feeling about third baseman Scott Rowland now to good. See, I think Rowland's role as a should be Hall of Famer so rolling was a better player than David Eckstein, Scott Rowland, resonate, how many seven-time All-Star eight time Gold glove 2006 World Series line Hall of Famer Josh Kiel, both of them. The pincer and you rarely talk about as soon Nickelback and the outfielder.

He was on the outside looking in on our sports injuries list yesterday sprained a spring day in Kiel stuff you know I you sent us a message yesterday on Twitter.

In response to that list. I forgot what it was during the shift there only good in the context of being before and after answers on wheel of fortune category they have. It's the two words stacked and nodding and not even all of your top 10 fit that description well you didn't like Larry Bird flu picture here in Kiel Woody Williams whose Woody Williams. I don't know that is what their number one starter for the early 2000's number one starter designate not made on once doesn't know is Nickelback. I don't lie on the second I don't know who Woody Williams was named for not telling you what he Williams is now a bit like sometimes. Sometimes I admittedly can get to obscure this one is not obscure. It was their number one starter for if you play from 01204 just with the Cardinals and I was his career. How you play for Toronto. He played for the Padres right in Houston 2007 all right, hit the damn thing intern Nick what you got Alan Craig Allen Karen now. I know Alan Craig Sue. I think that this was a few years after Luella. Greg is yes.

Braden Looper believed that it met him he was on the staff of Kyle Lucian friends but as a good career ally, and that was a Nickelback for the twins to maybe arguably, the arts, he did know what he Williams do you know who Bud Smith is knows that Bud Smith threw a no-hitter for the Cardinals in 030. I remember the no-hitter but I didn't remember Bud Smith.

Smith like I hope you do not like.

That's just the most Cardinals name ever. Bud Smith why Ned is from somewhere Ned where you at right now. Do you know that where are you now going down the road from Kernersville, you know where you're at right like I thought was a situation where we could give you some directions to take us that long to piña. While this show.

This show right here it's you're not getting Fernanda Fernando being your content anywhere around what he's talking about the like. No one Fernando thing you might be doing a radio show today. He's not talking about Fernando piña weekly corner that market today and I'm proud of another corner orange and closing conquer it better be a good one close us out strong so Taguchi, so he already know was no know that was okay why I'm there just isn't like 45 today making these names. Are these real people are always end up with like people left on my list.

Can I just lay rapidfire if you yes Ray Langford no know Ray Langford. If there is knows wrangling for its profit with… No I Eli Marrero absolutely next though heart that's too obscure whose winters here. I knew that with God. I don't know who that is whomever Matt Morris yes I do.

But again, this see some of these guys just have such ho-hum names that you don't like there not more that you know was going to deserve it so we could punctuate the segment yet because this dude I'm throwing in RIP Darrell Kyle deserves it, but RIP Darrell Kyle joined the College World Series this weekend. Terrible chat sometime soon. You know I will talk to them.

That's Darren Vaught hanging out with this once a week is where Sharon with Darren coming up why the future of the AAF or what happened with the AA half speaks optimism. Reasons to be optimistic about the XL film with Vince McMahon's doing here on the drop live with Josh Graham, 620 amazing houses is apparently last January, handful of players Morris Philadelphia Eagle fans watch playoff games. So a bunch of people celebrating listening to this song so they brought it to their locker room, St. Louis Blues players, and it just has taken over like the blues did at that point in the year last place.

At some point during the season around the halfway point and with an interim head coach winning their first ever Stanley Cup. It's quite a story John for Zealand has covered the Carolina hurricanes for a very long time, but has also been one of the leading voices on the NHL on NBC as well is kind enough to spend some time with us. He is the and SMA's North Carolina sportscaster of the year Johnny.

It really was a tremendous story we saw fully coming to fruition last night with the Stanley Cup win. What's your favorite part of this story again. I don't know. Maybe everything in totality. You mentioned that things on the genesis of that culture change to first story Clay Lander Cindy I'm going to read these become a shining light for the team and was able to fall between the Boston on the ice with the players long before the spotlight long before the even thought of a championship entered anybody's mind.

She was a big part of the blues were doing at the time, and also the great great story.

In total, and again I think it's just what the National Hockey League is all about. Because you think afternoon. It did once again it's a story I think that's exclusive the hockey I don't think we could have a story like the St. Louis Blues and another sport in the MBA like there's maybe five or six teams that are true title contenders of the idea of that team being in last place at the halfway point of the year is just foreign and in the NFL.

The just simply isn't enough games when you think about coaches being dismissed. We've talked about this before. How strange it is in hockey to hurricanes in 2009, making a coaching change and then that team going to the Eastern conference finals, only to lose to a team that had fired their coach in the middle of the season to and won the Stanley Cup Pittsburgh and then that coach was fired in 2017 and then the coach who took over for him won the Stanley Cup Pittsburgh and coach Sullivan. We see it now accredited Ruby, I mean what what you make of this in hockey where you see a coach getting fired as potentially a spark plug for a team that in this case culminated with the Stanley Cup all the way and we have seen it before. We also seen situations where where it doesn't work but I think what needs to happen to a hockey team when the coaching change is whatever needs to be almost the direct opposite sex. Or maybe that's another sport. Sometimes you see another sport so go to remember the coaching staff will go to a guy who made the same coaching tree might be almost just trying to tweak the same in New Orleans trying to get the guy worked the same game plan just in a different way maybe with a slightly different approach.

The stark contrast I think it works or not yet think players just become rundown with the same message over and over again if they become become vacant. They become you know where to find the pulse and in this case will be easy at first. When he took over the blues. They stumbled around mid December wasn't quite right that lasted the first of the year and then it started to come and I think you were similar in his approach as rock. The mall was with the hurricanes where he was preaching to his team guys I know what I'm talking about. I do have faith in your we are playing quickly at some point will get a breakthrough.

The blues did so the barricades hurricanes made it to the final authority. NHL out, but I think you would be able to get to the audit approach and approach where they were able to say we like this guy will expect this guy, this is not walking down with taxes and those who just want to play hard for him and for each other and sometimes that's all you need, because it is such an emotional and sometimes a random game.

John Portland with us here on twitter at John for his wind. I always find myself emotional watching the Stanley Cup presentation. It doesn't really matter who's winning it because of what that moment represents to so many and it feels unique in hockey to even other championship trophy presentations as somebody who studied the game and been around the game as long as you have.

What do you think makes the Stanley Cup celebration and presentation ceremony perfectly unique to hockey and special trophy biased obviously but I think it it's the most beautiful trophy of the ones that are out there for pro sports and people trophy so it took trophy that shared with not only the players but the staff of each arena. The fan base and there's a good chance you know you're in St. Louis over the next few months, and the fan you're getting an opportunity to somehow see it maybe didn't touch and maybe take a photo with it will be plenty of opportunity. The great thing about it every single name that's etched on that trophy.

So every team get 50 names. They can put on the trophy while it only anywhere between 20 and 25 players so we have 50 names managers and scallops and PR people and sometimes younger sometimes people are put on that trophy for sentimental reasons because they were that important to the team that important to that specific unit in their names on the trophy look at the trophy history lesson and I know when we had a hearing that we share the day with it. Back in 2006.

I was amazed at how many people were taken to it and the floor that brings people in all.

I have to be around the other trophy and saying that it Stanley Cup on the general public about 100% sure does and I think that's what special what you remember about the first time you held the cup while I never held it up. I never put it over my head because I don't know many do I know I didn't compete for it. So I would company. I took a few photos with it. Most of the photos I took with me there with my family or with people that I was sharing the cup with, but I never wanted to raise it overnight and I think that should be left. The people that competed for the trophy the players and the coaches are so direct hockey staff, so I never did that with my own choice. Many people do maybe achieve myself, but I also was able to show it to 1200 people. The day I had it, and in the way way to make the most of it. It was tiring but it was well worth it and I think that's the joy I was sharing my opportunity to just which is broadcaster meet.

We were very lucky that Peter commanded that owner lurking with the Stanley Cup. Sometimes it happens in other markets and sometimes it doesn't. But we were lucky and we did not ever forget you ever get to be in the same room alone with the Stanley Cup in our bedroom night and so is that all run away with too many ideas here that exciting but anyway we we we have a cup this is what we usually plan to take the Lally school for the blind and 9 AM that day. But fortunately the night before it got got held up in a previous engagement and that it could not make purely flight out of Detroit was coming from Detroit. It took a secondary flight second flight out of Detroit 11 o'clock, do something else for that group, and a later date on my kids school and we shared it with every single class every single class in the 15 minute history lesson on the Stanley Cup in every class I pre-k through I was able to pose with the carpet they could take a group photo. All the parents came to know if you know 600 kids and parents and so on. So people either party at any restaurant where people that could not get to the house party could go out another group of people met with regard to my house and we had the house that was crashed lot of people came through became like a big receiving line in the front door all the way down the basement out on the patio in the backyard. That's good.

Take a picture with me that when I'm in the wee hours of the morning, but cheaper the cup with it.

So he sleeps where the cops can it be that this out and so the keepers slept in the basement in the Game with my wife Natalie myself up to the bedroom and put it on the floor with that and we care that you just take the next day and he took it excellent. Great story. You're also a big Red Sox fan, so I wonder what you make of this David Ortiz story this week when we learn that apparently the suspect was offered. I think what's around $8000 to kill David Ortiz. I mean it. There seems like there's more to this story. I don't know really how to talk about it. I don't need her and that's news to me about the money. You know I had been doing a bunch of things today and that's according to police. By the way, that's not a report that's according to police. Okay yeah well that's that's unbelievable. So you know I knew it was likely the reason why I mean it's just god-awful not even know how many words connected can start to describe or explain why you're feeling that something like this happens because he's iconic. I can make who was in the wrong place at the wrong time for the wrong reason Ortiz will be God willingly back to full health will speak to this and will be able to teach some lessons to some people about it and just a real shady deal and very fortunate. You know he is just a larger-than-life guy so genuine. I know few people that know him and I think is what he is and maybe you made a mistake in his life in some kind of ridiculous price for it from evil people who think that way.

But it's just a checkup every everybody throughout sports because Jesus JR outstanding athlete championship caliber athlete. This week larger-than-life figure that is help a lot of people and will continue to like I from the outside. You know I admire David Ortiz for long time the bid in SMA banquet is a little less than two weeks away. It's on a Monday work to be broadcasting our show from one of their seminars that they have earlier that day, so we look forward to seeing John Foresman when he is named and recognizes the North Carolina sportscaster of the year gets down. These parts sometime soon. John, thank you for doing this. Anytime you take care now that that's John Foresman on Twitter at John four
