A New Beginning
Greg Laurie
We think if we had a nicer car, or a bigger house, or a larger salary, or a new face, or new body, then we’d be content. But Max Lucado says: “The good life begins not when circumstances change but when our attitude toward them does.”  And writing to the Christians in Philippi, the apostle Paul said, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.” (Philippians 4:11–12 NLT). Paul was in difficult circumstances when he wrote these words. He wasn’t spouting theories from an ivory tower. He was under house arrest, writing from the school of hard knocks. Yet Paul found contentment because he rejoiced in the Lord. Earlier in Philippians 4, he wrote, "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" (verse 4 NKJV). He didn’t say that we should rejoice in circumstances. Sometimes that’s hard to do. But Paul did say that we should rejoice in the Lord. The Christian Worldview
David Wheaton
Send us Fan MailJesus commanded His followers to be “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world.” While this familiar phrase is often reduced to simply being kind or positive, Jesus intended something far more consequential. In Matthew 5, immediately after describing the character of true believers in the Beatitudes—and warning that they would face persecution, insults, and false accusations—Jesus called them to live in a way that would be clearly noticed by the world.Salt preserves what would otherwise decay, while light exposes darkness and shows the way. Likewise, Christians are called to preserve what is good and godly and to proclaim the light of the gospel and biblical truth. But when believers compromise and become indistinguishable from the world, their influence is weakened. As America grows increasingly dark spiritually and morally through false religion, destructive political ideologies, and rebellion against God’s design, the need for faithful Christians has never been greater. Hope is not lost, for God remains sovereign—but believers must be clear-eyed, courageous, and intentional about honoring Christ through their words, conduct, and convictions. This week’s program examines what Jesus truly meant when He called Christians to be salt and light—and how believers can faithfully fulfill that calling in an increasingly hostile world. Guest: Alex McFarland, a Christian apologist and co-host of Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio network and host of “The Alex McFarland Show,” on NRB TV joins us to discuss some examples of the darkening taking place in our nation.PROGRAM NOTES:“You Are the Salt of the Earth” sermon from John MacArthurAlex McFarland

Hope for the Caregiver
Peter Rosenberger
Caregiving can feel painfully slow. The same responsibilities, struggles, and prayers continue day after day. But slow does not mean aimless. In this episode, I draw from the careful adjustments required for Gracie's new prosthetic legs. A body shaped by decades of trauma cannot be corrected overnight. Neither can a life. God understands what has shaped us, knows exactly what He is correcting, and works with a wisdom that never hurries and never wastes time. I also celebrate eight years of Hope for the Caregiver on American Family Radio, share a small-town Montana story involving our postmaster and an urgent request for Imodium, and return to Ecclesiastes 3:11 with the caregiver hymn of the week, "In His Time." When progress seems glacial and caregiving appears endless, I keep returning to what is true: God makes all things beautiful in His time.

Clearview Today
Abidan Shah
To exist, we need oxygen, food, water, and shelter. God needs none of it. In this episode of Clearview Today, we continue our Getting to Know God series with one of the attributes that's hardest for us to grasp because it's so unlike us: the self-sufficiency of God.We talk about why this truth is so difficult for dependent beings like us to accept — how a power outage, a plane ride, or an unexpected health scare quietly reminds us how little we actually control. From there we get honest about prayer: how a false sense of self-sufficiency shows up in how little time we spend with God, why treating prayer like a coin in a slot machine misses the point entirely, and why "get to the point" praying is closer to the real thing than the template prayers we recite without meaning. Dr. Abidan Shah shares a recent night of being wide awake at three in the morning and how the Holy Spirit turned those restless hours into some of the most meaningful prayer he's had.We also draw the crucial distinction between God's communicable attributes, the ones He shares with us like holiness and love, and His incommunicable ones like self-sufficiency, which we can never possess. And we land somewhere deeply reassuring: being dependent on God does not make you meaningless. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and He delights in you.Dr. Shah writes a personal letter every week — reflections on Scripture, faith, and living it out with clarity and purpose. Wisdom for the Heart
Dr. Stephen Davey
Share a commentThe eighth commandment sounds like it belongs in a courtroom, but Scripture aims it straight at the heart. We start with the chilling honesty of Acts 5, where Ananias and Sapphira try to look generous while hiding the truth, and the whole church feels the fallout. That scene sets the tone for a bigger question we all have to face: can we look like people of light while practicing hidden forms of stealing? From Exodus 20:15 we track three Bible categories that expand “theft” far beyond cash. We talk about deceit as misrepresentation for unjust gain, how Romans 1 treats deception as a symptom of a God-rejecting culture, and why the church can’t afford to normalize it. Then we turn to false teaching, using 2 Corinthians 11 and Jeremiah 23 to sharpen discernment: when someone claims “God told me” while sidestepping the Word of God, they’re not offering extra insight, they’re stealing authority and attention that belong to the Lord. We also confront self-deception from James 1, where hearing without obeying becomes a quiet way to rob ourselves of integrity and growth. The conversation gets uncomfortably practical with “defrauding” in daily relationships: wages owed for honest work, care owed to parents, intimacy owed within marriage, and even the way believers handle disputes. We close by naming theft that hides in plain sight, stealing worship from God, time from our families, and spiritual gifts from our church community, and we end with Ephesians 4’s simple reset: stop stealing, work honestly, and learn to share. "We are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses." But where are they — in heaven, on earth, or somewhere else? In this episode of Clearview Today, we continue our Getting to Know God series by exploring one of the most fascinating and least-preached ideas in Scripture: the "Christ time," and what it means to walk the hall of faith as if those who've gone before us are cheering us on right now.We work through Hebrews 11 and 12, where the writer invites us to step by faith into another realm and see Abraham, Moses, and Ruth not as figures from a dusty past, but as witnesses running alongside us. We talk about why the Word of God is living and powerful, how entering the Christ time reframes the way we read Scripture, and how this truth steadies us in our own moments of doubt, stress, and decision. Dr. Abidan Shah also shares the story of his own father walking out into the night with nothing but the clothes on his back, and why he now counts him among that same cloud of witnesses. We also draw a clear and important line: this is not the culture's idea of ancestors watching over you. Satan always offers a counterfeit, and apart from Jesus Christ there is no access to God's time at all. This is a real realm, opened only through Christ, and it's meant to help you run your race with endurance.Dr. Shah writes a personal letter every week — reflections on Scripture, faith, and living it out with clarity and purpose.
