Share a commentOne sentence can stop a grieving parent cold: “I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.” We start there, with David and Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 12, because the death of a child forces honest Christians to face the hardest pastoral question people ask through tears: did my baby go to heaven?We don’t reach for a Hallmark answer, and we don’t pretend the Bible offers a single easy proof text for the miscarried, the aborted, the stillborn, or the severely mentally disabled. Instead, we do what careful biblical theology requires: compare passages, connect doctrines, and follow the clues.
