You will Christian card on radio show will go good morning and welcome to the Christian card I show I guess you might be wondering, Robbie, how are you put together spent all my bucks on a breakdown truck and drive and put your hands in the hand of the man who write still the waters so here is anybody can I say there is a method to my madness here you see if you've ever had this happen to you where you just spent a fortune to get your car fixed and you didn't have a week and something completely different.

Went wrong and you're still totally broke just like my friend spent all my bucks on a breakdown truck and now he's broke down south.

Dallas said that ever happened to you and what happened to you. Do you consider that the hand jive the got you know that God is mad at you and now you get to punish you and you are cannot suffer the consequences.

Or do you consider putting your hand in the hand of the managed stills of water, so it is.

It is at the hand of Providence giving you a hand signal or is this the hand of God slapping you down. Oh, that's a question I really want to ask today. I watched her think with me when this might have something similar like this happen beware something happened in your life is bigger than you. I have this Opal GT I love this man all my life I want to Opel GT and I bought this yellowing and I spent a ton of money put a new clutch in it and all this stuff and I took all the money I had. I was probably 22 or 23 years old at the time, and I'm going down the road about a week later in the driveshaft breaks you joint break. And if you've ever had this happen in a rearwheel drive car. It almost polevault the call driveshaft sticks in the back and comes flying above the ground. It's a crazy situate you know we don't see much anymore but if you've ever had it happen it light up your world. And so here I am. I spent all my bucks on a breakdown. Opal and I broke South Albuquerque actually at the time so is your listing that you're thinking about that. Wow, how did God pull my feet out of the fire, and that when I would love to hear that story. 866-34-TRUTH 878-848-6634 truth so there's a catch 22 you.

You gotta have a car to get to work to make the money right. But how do I get to work. If I don't have a car. It's a Catch-22. You feel like man. This is what is God doing here so I'm sure that Satan would love you to buy the lot. I am sure he would that you know God is slapping you down but I think I've got some hope for you today on on some you may not have seen before in the hand of God in the hand of Providence Grant talk about that but also on today's show we have Jim Christian and I have been literally Jerry praying for years and maybe the entire time I've been on the Christian card looking for a used car dealer that I could get behind what they do right in and I've written articles on how to buy cheap used cars and done all sorts of work trying to figure out what what the Christian card.

I really recommend and I just keep praying and praying and asking God really for some insight and interestingly two weeks ago God just flipped me on to this website where I saw benchmark auto sales and I began to read what they said and what their strategy was for people that are kind in the situation where they live week to week. They live paycheck to paycheck and and so Jim, welcome to the Christian card and ship.

Thanks. Good morning to pursue being here with you. So we've got a new solution. Along those lines, but also have my good friend Jerry saved my bacon last week and host the show with Jerry you run into this this kind of thing all the time or somebody's you know a lot of times a week.

Part of it is just a mechanical stuff that you have people continue to put money into a car when they probably shouldn't need to be able to know what lies ahead sometimes. But also we see it on a weekly basis for somebody as a vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company and the first time you start looking at his numbers where if I buy this car five. Keep the car and buy back the insurance company to go to give me X amount of money and I can repair it and have a car and Micah few thousand dollars are little bit of money. Most the time we have to have a conversation with them because her so much hidden damage that you have to be aware because you could end up having a vehicle that has Mr. say $8000 with the damage you have $3000 of hidden damage and so on. Time to try to steer them away from that calls is just sometimes a bad investment may look like it's a good move on paper but it's really not, because next thing you know you will spend all your bucks on a breakdown truck that Jeff and Seth wherever it is that you may live, you have a story now and you know how you got brought out of that were yet situation is just bigger than you bigger than you have the resources to solving. You really had no understanding where that was going. We would love to hear that 866-348-7884 is a number to call you and share your story or your broke down south to Dallas, 866-348-7884 and the other thing I want to make sure and mention is that we run into this all the time with the Jesus labor love. That's car repair labor for single moms widows families in crisis. It would not be of a week that I ever go by where I don't have someone who literally has a broken down car and they have no resources whatsoever.

Get it fixed something that's how they they end up with us and sometimes we need and we we been donated a car that we can actually here's a car that you know it needs a transmission and it's a 1998 in a Ford Taurus.

And let's face it a meaning. If we can find some a car. The donated to someone. This is can be a lot better resource. What I want to tell you about a story just this week I had a lady not too far from here, in advance, North Carolina and her cars exactly like that was it was old Suzuki and next thing you know she needs a whole rear axle which is way more than the car needs and while we have a car that was donated in Raleigh and and here's a chance for you to pray and enjoy into this situation because right now she has the money to go pay the taxes to get this car.

This been donated to her.

We have a car for her to get but you know what she doesn't have arrived Raleigh to pick up the car right she's broke down south of advanced and so it was just it it's it's a crazy situation, but here we are, and I'm just at praying and and I'm asking her to pray, and I'm asking you to pray know God.

Here we have some resources. This car is been donated. Here we have a lady who has a need no woman in her circle will step up and and and and tenant. I think we just and and you mentioned it before, just been up to pray with people who are planned for the help and Seth manages powerful and you note. Some will more than more than sometimes but a lot not only do they have a broken down car. They got a broken spirit and that's where God really need to step in and and through Jesus labor love through Robbie. I would have to show Christ in the situations and I'm glad you mentioned that because I I never want to let go of that and I hope nobody thinks and talk about me because I'm really not.

But it is my habit.

And God gave me this always always always pray with an applicant divert one of the first things and always just thank God that you know they have the courage to route to humble themselves, which is a lot about were going to talk about today. Humble themselves and say and this is bigger me I can't fix this and I'm very thankful that this person had the courage to ask for help and then you know Ascot to meet the need in whatever way that is it's unbelievable to me how many of these ladies when they in allotment that might be another two years or three years or five years that they call me back to make they need something again and they go.

You remember Robbie you prayed with me. They don't forget that they don't forget that it was God bit actually is meeting the need in eyes, not Robbie. It's not the Jesus labor love and mean it is Jesus the cheats that slippery love and and and ultimately in only turn to that.

So man I know you got a story and I'm shocked the blinds are not lit up during the two and before you get off the opal story soon as you're telling a story about opal GT know what I thought about Robbie is moderate well not hit well there you go, but no member the lever right in the middle of the condo yell at the head jerk at thing up to make the headlines, the man that was cool and really ultimate goal is to come back with a lot more about benchmark autosales what is this new way to buy a used car we can find out about that man I need some stories, 866-348-7884 866-34-TRUTH welcome back question down south of Dallas would today show is is it a hand jive is the hand of God slapping you down is at Providence for his got got something else going on share a little more on that idea when we get a little more into that but how many of you and your little your listing and I'm again we got a wonderful call by the way, on the break of the lady who's volunteering to take the lady to Raleigh to pick up her car, which that's really awesome and so we got that information. And I'm very very thankful about that. And God is provided again and I've been praying about God, what are we doing about this in Raleigh. What else you to get and mention it if you got answer to prayer was next.

The neck forward to the story to Davis, make my day time that God stepped in the summer is just way bigger near your broke down and there you go. 866-348-7884 is a number to call in and share on that but again, as we run into this. I have been asking God and I in it really a day goes by. I shouldn't say maybe every three or four days I get a call from somebody or something come up to me and say Robbie, where do I get a used car is a used car dealer I can trust wears a used car guy that unit out there looking for that and and I just never had an answer other than here.

This is going to be this is can be a job you have to go looking and and again, if you read my article how to buy good cheap used car you can see that. But the real situation for so many people that are looking for cheap used car. Some people can easily afford it and they're just doing that you know to be a good steward of their money and they have the money to fix it if it breaks, but the unfortunate part is a lot of people there in that position do not have the money to fix the car if it breaks consider to be broken down south Dallas and if it breaks twice. I guarantee you they don't have the money if you listen to paycheck to paycheck. So what is the solution for that group. And unfortunately I think you know based on my experience with the Jesus labor love that this is a huge group of people that are live in week to week and so again like I came across Jim's website Jim Christian out he was a Christian card I you know as soon as he got in the car business birthright as a Christian card I but anyway share with our listeners will of the story of how you got involved with this benchmark because you didn't just come in the car business by being a car salesman like me were a lot of other people know you're exactly right. I will first of all say you know you talk about mechanical issues and and they never happen at convenient times and primarily because cars are so important to me and it's very difficult in this part of the world to get by without a vehicle and also when when cars break in and they do because their machines machines break all the time.

It's never convenient and and that's a big part of why we run the business the way we do. But I came into the business through lifetime friend who started the business over 10 years ago in Asheville, North Carolina, and that was the first lot in and Joe was very successful in Asheville in about three years ago. His brother opened up a business in Morehead city and now he's done very well there and then about a year and 1/2 ago, we opened and Winston and you know the premises the same across in all of our locations. We intend open more, but the idea is to give reliable transportation to working-class folks and when I say reliable and we we go into it. Understanding that course break and then we want to help our customers have a plan for that and you know we do provide a warranty for the vehicles. The whole time the customers paying in unit we want to help people get back in the course quickly as I can and move on with their lives and in one of the challenges I've had with this concept as you know, I was then you'll even see an article I wrote one time that I might be a little ashamed of that. I was nonetheless very teed off the time. Like I said, I declare war against buy here pay here lots because a lot of them really take advantage of people that I mean, they're already down on their luck in the last thing they need now is a predatory lender coming in and you know doing something to him, especially you know when I deal with them all the time of Jesus labor love that they'll be in the sole cars broke down and you know what you do so. The beauty of the beginning of that I liked through benchmark. Is it so yes, it's it's a buy here pay here lot and yes you don't have the normal credit approval kind of thing. In fact, I love what it says on his website about one of the ways that you can qualify for credit through these folks and immediately I was like that's intriguing is that you need to be a nice person absolutely and you need to have a job and so you're looking to see if they qualify, but simply put, the things that make them able to buy the car, not the normal things that are going to be when you you know going to eat the new car dealers absolutely believe you look. Life happens and you know you mentioned that early in the show that that's part of being here is is just taking on the difficulty of life and it could be a divorce.

It could be a medical issue but but most of us are not that far away from having something that disrupts your credit and makes it difficult or impossible to buy a car through a franchise dealer to get a credit union or bank and get a loan in unit so we we don't focus on credit.

We don't focus on the past we look at where people are today. We importantly, I think. Try to set people up for success in, and I think that may be one of the real differences and in the you know what you call buy here pay here are lots that finance you know on the spot, you know we want to set our customers up for success. The were focused on their ability to make the payment and we look at income as a driver for that and and then we look at what is the cost per week, or biweekly or monthly. We normally match the payment with our customers get paid and we want to be sure that there well prepared to make that car payment and then the disruptor is is the mechanical issue and I think that's what most of us are prepared for is that supplies $600 bill or whatever it may be that isn't in the budget and and that's were benchmark steps in with our warranty to help people you know get the car fixed, get them back to work, get him back in the kids to school, doctors appointments, whatever it is said that life can go on under all this Jerry but I hope your hearing is I was wrong. Well, as my wife would tell you happens quite frequently, but there is there is a used car people out there that are literally trying to do what he just right. And if there's a warning that if the thing makes sense that there are plans that can make work even when you find yourself in a situation slim talk a lot more about that but were still waiting on your story.

Now come on, you got the courage to make the call 866-3478 84 roll down spent all your box on the breakdown and there you were broke down south of Dallas. I am still I know you got the story just you know God came through and that's what we love it. See the idea of the show. I hope always is a God theater or the ship that you will share something where God came through and all the people listening will see all my goodness there's a reason to have faith, there's a good reason to have hope. Even when things look way bigger than anything in the world that you might have them. And so the idea is that Hannah Providence is it trying to slap you down because you've done a lot of bad stuff and now God's get even when you or is the hand of Providence trying to steer you and is a great question. And so the reason I was thinking about this.

This week is his many that know that my father's been actually terminally and this week we we called in hospice and that's our and so friend of mine named James Banks, you may know he does encouraging prayer on disciple magazine told me about this wonderful book by Philip Keller called lessons from a sheepdog and he is the same author wrote. The shepherd looks at the 23rd Psalm, which is one of my favorite books of all time and so I just knew this was going be an awesome book and I'm not the biggest dog live in the world but my dad loves dogs and so you know where he's at is he's in bed. He can't move hardly at all anymore is flat on his back and he's destined to watch TV all day and he just looks and also miserable sitting there and and he's got double vision, so we really can't read anymore. Now as I dad what if I read this book to you is I does things can be an awesome book and in my dad has it's actually a corgi but it's part shepherd dog or whatever and so I thought this is this is perfect. This is so, I start reading this book and it was like oh my goodness this this sheepdog really was abused and he ended up with it on the farm is really really about a phenomenal story on how he actually just tried to give him the best food.

The Bethel house and all that stuff and he wouldn't do anything and so finally he just took him off the leash and said hey you know you got your off on your own, and he let them go to see if the dog would come back to mount on the ranch and it is amazing story of you know how this went on for a number of weeks until one day he felt this wet nose on his hand know the dog was now his and they begin this intimate relationship.

And I know if you've ever been that way with God were all the sudden he felt your whip.

It may have been what you're broke down south to Dallas but you get the picture is that this dog finally decided you know this. This might be a good guy and so he begins to train this dog on how to be a shepherd and of course you can imagine that if they begin out using voice commands you know he'll stop and all that but if you're shepherd voice commands upset the sheet right that disturbs them so that the hope is that between the shepherd and a sheepdog that they will get to the point of intimacy where they can use hand signal so clear across from the way across the field. Nobody has to scream or yell is just to the right to the left. Stay no stop whatever it is is being done by hand signals and he points out, he said you know to this sheepdog. There is nothing more valuable to it than pleasing his master. You can tell any time that he does something I wanted to do. He just jumps up in my arms and loves their affection and in the you know that anointing essentially of of rubbing on his head and tell them how much I love them and all that stuff when he sees that he pleased his master a said how about you and do you see that yes we are but to obey what it says in the Bible. And yes, we'll you know we know what the word of God says, and we know what God's spoken commands are. Do you know what is hand signs are, and often they come by the way, in these big providential moments like you know my dad's not being you know being pruned like God is the vine and you are the branches.

Robbie and so here's this branch that essentially has been giving me a big part of life. All my life for this when getting print off is quite painful. Honestly.

But it's it's God pointing me he's giving me a hand sign to begin to look for other ways and look to him more for the life right and sees. Ultimately, you know, my source of a father.

So getting back to broke down south of Dallas. It's when the Jesus labor love people see that this is bigger than themselves that you know it's time to humble myself and say you know I don't have the resources here.

I've got to turn to God for help and when they do, they begin to pray and I hope that they googled no help me God comes of Jesus labor love, whatever that looks like. I don't know.

Or maybe you know they talk to a friend is a Christian and they say all you know about the Jesus labor liver, whatever that may be, which is again car repair for single moms or or some other way you you make a prayer request in your Sunday school I'm faced with this and it's bigger than me and and how do we go about doing that and then if you think about what's happening is your putting trust in whole in God even when things look the blackest, like I don't see how this is can work out God that I trust and Solomon in turn to you as you talk about Jerry during the break.

A lot of what is going on over there at benchmark and what goes on with you is is establishing that trust with relationships with fellow believers, but also you know with whoever it is that you know that all I you know when my car breaks down or might not need body repair like nothing you think you know so many times we we would talk about on the radio show and stuff and it's easy to sort also but not really realize the importance of it parted Jesus labor of love is that they you don't have that deep relationship, but you do it comes right back to Jesus Christ and so it automatically gets building pretty quickly, but when I was hearing Jim talk about his loss of benchmark. First thing I thought about was relationships because that's what I mean that.

That's one thing I sort of really soapbox I want to stand on. If you are an individual out there and it is a matter she assured Dr. the doctor that you go to should be somebody that you can talk to have a relationship with whatever is bothering you.

Talk to about same thing about your vehicle have a garage that does mechanical work that you can talk to that you trust. Because they may tell you know what you need be going down the road. Benchmark a look at another car because you can put X amount of dollars in addition to fix that problem. But you probably don't have this problem in the near future so cost you and you just continue to put money into it the same thing when Vanessa have relationship with the towing company find somebody close to that. You go in and talk to them build a relationship before the rear in a crisis because then you feel comfortable to go ahead and call them you know when you going to take the vehicle you know the going to work with you on the vehicle as far as price structure and everything else have a body shop where you're in the area off another crisis if you're an accident is a crisis you don't think straight to Heather's things kind of in your mind what you want to do and same thing with when you're in the market for car if your car is either need Z engine is not worth put a DNR transmission are you been an accident and is not worth repairing. Where is not feasible. As far as dollars go you know have somewhere you can go and have a relationship with a eight a car lot at benchmark and in this area wherever it may be some way that you have a relationship you can sort of talk through and understand and they can understand what the next move. You need to make financially and that you can have transportation to be able to meet the needs that you that that all of us have as Jim mentioned earlier on was live in a society that that mean an automobile not have an automobile is a mean you almost can't function without a not and, but, interestingly, Jim, and I'm sure you would love you to speak to this in a right. I know there's people living in Seattle or they may be in California or New York and and they obviously can't come down to benchmark. But as they begin to enter into a relationship with that car lot. It's really helpful if they share they don't hold back on the story what's really going on here and you know there's so much talk about communication and an in my own experience communication is a whole lot easier when you're talking about things that are good. You know it's easy to be opened and and to let it out when it's something positive, but when we go through these periods of stress or distress, or things are right, or you're worried about whatever the facts are often time.

That's when full communication is most important.

And you know I think the reality is if you're talking to a car dealer use car dealer and you can't lay out the whole truth and you can't put together a good deal then you probably ought to get out of there anyway and and I think you know that the car dealer you know those that that same respect back. You know, given the whole truth. The full truth about what the program is what they do well and what their limitations are and then it's admitted good deal requires both parties winning and he can't get to that whole communication then you're in the wrong spot. I thought we got more at night believing we have more that we need one more thing that's your story, 866-348-7884 866-34-TRUTH down Dallas and I show that a hand drive from God or is this the hand of Providence trying to steer us in some direction. We have been very excited about this waiting on the stories we got Deborah's in Seattle, Washington Deborah, you're on the Christian card I show good morning well good morning Ron, I got my car okay that's fine yeah please. I'm dying here all well when we overwhelm and one right after another. Believe and I'm just now started out by my own problem and under the crowd, though I'm 18 and pulled out all the glitter and then back to borrower and then the light and that nobody can work my problem became so deeply frightened. I emotion like Jack and weight problem and not know what you and I like that put your hand in hand.

There are many Bible I've got you by your right in the Bible there is and I'm just like I stated that that was where he was leading put your hand in his son. Mike and when you were doing dictate doing that every day and pick and for what, where, and how might an expected little yielding to hard and feel like all I been out walking track, and that's what I wanted with that. I'm currently not only can we pray and claim that the problem I you scale kind of need to because of not going. While the back knowing and how you got under nine and in spite of what I want that that always come immediately. You can't click on it got to get back in the garden. Even so, now that is a working working why no problem go away quickly and I woke up this morning thinking while Lord that one year. What really are in the world of problem for and I gotta say again when I'm sure that Jerry would agree with and so would Jim that the joy in your voice is exceeding I mean is like wow I mean you can just sense that piece that you that you have there and and the other thing that just astounds me. I'm so thankful that you're asking the Lord for word for every day and in it. What that does for my life. I can't even begin to share it you know every single day and a lot of them this week is been really really helpful. I was sitting there thinking wow what a joy that God shares that were this ensures that with you but it's clear in your voice. The piece that he's given you in the joy that you have not without well, but he's he's he's got you one thank you Deborah. You made my day. God bless. I'm so grateful you called in today.

I wonderful, wonderful, not always okay please anytime no real quick thank you Deborah God bless bye-bye bye-bye all right, we have Ray also in Seattle so there up early this morning in Seattle.

Good morning Ray, if you got a story for us yet. And I wanted to say I really appreciate your art and your I enjoy listening to you on Saturday. Also, my story is, it was quite a few years ago, but I was driving with my my father and we were driving a transport truck tractor-trailer and we we notice that there were we heard, we heard a small noise and then we we were at the top of the big hill and data was. It was snowing and we we we pulled over and we walked down we can look back up the hill at the truck in it see that the wheel was the front steering axle wheel was clocked a little bit and so we we got a hardware hydraulic jack jack jack axle up, steering axle and the front wheel just fell off on the ground and break the burying, you know, the bearing was all developed believing gone and now it hadn't heard spend a little bit. Anyway, we sat beside the road for a little while and then I came by with a pickup and and we talked to him and he looked at what it was. You have got to be living right because that was just like it. We would've gone over that hill sure the wheel would come often. We had a big loading probably wouldn't gone to heaven that day but God had a plan in. I remember my dad was younger then but my dad while we were driving to town. He took the opportunity to talk to this guy about what God had done for us just about God's provision for life or for all the really really spoke deeply to my heart and so that what it's done is as I got older and made me more aware of God's how God puts things in our life certain times and then you we need to take the opportunities that he puts in our ways that other lattice brother more important things that are our eternal yeah so anyway I don't think that I use you is like God ordained that you would make that call right in the show. We had you can hear the music is were closing but that is the point that his hand he's got this and that man had a chance to know about God. As a result of what happened because your father stayed you know. All that's amazing story Ray.

God bless you, thank you so much for calling today. How awesome well okay you write what I want to encourage everybody. If you get a chance to go to Christian card.
