This is the Adam Gold show good to the NBA draft with Brian Geiser talk more about things at the top and about 15 minutes last night. Bad news for those people who are interested in going online to begin little action on again as the North Carolina state legislature. The general assembly. What an CGA right they decided to build can't do it hundred 20 people could vote hundred and one voted on both bills 19 to go all I would like to talk to our couple that were excused or some were running outside to take a walk.

I'd like to speak to the people who decide to go to mortgaging food longer have the courage to actually cast about. That's the thing that frustrates a lot of people, including myself, is that you were elected to make these decisions and when it comes to making these decisions you will "walk so it did it. There were two bills I don't even honestly, even though we talk to Brian Murphy up from WR AL about this couple time and is been all over the story. I'm not even sure why we needed to build, but there were two bills, one passed 51 to 50. The other failed, 50, 51 to 50 and one person voted differently in the two bills.

The way it works is that one bill needed. The other bill the even work so it doesn't really matter. We got a start over. And it's likely not going to happen next week, which means that the January 1, 2023 start date for legalized online or mobile gambling is not so that means that you can't go to draft Kings Vandal that MGM Caesars, whatever you can't use any of the mobile places that our friends in Virginia or Tennessee or New Jersey. 20 states around the United States, Iowa.

India always states are using the model their phones to place a bet on again and it's fun.

I don't do it, but I think you should have the right to do it. Keep I keep emphasizing this.

I am not a gambler. I don't enjoy. I enjoy the idea of it more than I enjoy the practicality of it. It's sort of like a mocha for me or actually a moment of make it even more when you boil down even further. The idea of gambling is better than the actuality of gambling like a peppermint mocha is for me the idea of it is so much better than the actuality of it like this fall short. I love chocolate and I love mint but the peppermint mocha largely sucks. To me that's what gambling is because I hate losing money and go to gambling what whatever this number is right, this number would not be the number. My unit is how many units I am ahead would not be this way were an actual wagers, may I promise you it would not be like there's freedom in knowing that you can't lose money, but there are a lot of people that love to place a bet on again and those people in this state should not be forced to drive to Cherokee to do it and we are using antiquated reasons to deny people what they want and that is the legal right to gamble on sports so Abe Jones is a Democrat from wake County. It's bad, pure and simple straight up wrong. You can't fix what's wrong because you can't amended away. I would love the quote to include why it's wrong but it just says it's wrong.

The truth is is that a lot of people who think it's wrong do so for religious reasons. I would be curious, do you feel the same way about bingo because I mean almost every church you drive past, at least once a week on the marquee Wednesday night bingo.

I mean it's all gambling.

It's all gambling Pat Hurley or a Republican from Randolph, it's not worth the money to put this to our citizens. Why, what is it worth the money. The estimates for North Carolina based on population based on interest in sports. In this issue say between five and $6 billion in gross revenue for year. Why is that not worth the money eat meat even if it's not you know in enormous sum of money to the state budget. It's impactful it might fund something. Why wouldn't you take advantage of it. Especially when we are losing money when people drive across the Virginia border on people drive into Tennessee or part of the bill was actually funding for Parks and Recreation apartments for every county youth sports and also some of the money was to go to some of the underfunded athletic departments here in the state right a lot of them being a GCC use right look at is that the thing that really made me angry and I read this and just I'm glad I didn't have representative John Autry near me was a Democrat from Mecklenburg. He was a former associate producer and editor of coaching shows with Dean Smith, Bogart and he thought that the fact that we had a point shaving scandal in the 1950s meant that we should not have college sports eligible to be wagered on because we can have sport the scales again and all I could think of was like what year is this where point shaving scandal in the 90s I believe and Arizona State basketball player name Stephen Smith is a hell of a player but got caught up in a punching scandal. You know what that wasn't legal gambling that was illegal gambling.

So if you're wagering it illegally, you are more likely to be corrupted by the people to whom or to which you all the money that won't happen if gambling becomes legal, not to mention the fact that in that particular case, and in every other little gambling scandal point shaving or wargame fixing wargame throwing how do we find out it's because we have the legal bookmakers. The casinos, the companies that run sports books. They notice the change in the odds they notice the influx of money and they want it stopped. The casinos are our friends and too many we can't protect everybody from everything all the time I get that you might be against the lottery.

I don't play the lottery either. I think lottery is silly getting. I respect your right to buy a lottery ticket and I appreciate that probably are not enough button but some of the money goes towards education. I appreciate that. So whatever and if people spend money that they can't afford to spend on a lottery ticket.

I can't stop them but it's there right it's there when it's their right to do it.

We do that all the time with fast food like should spend money on fast with bad for you but what is your right. But we have a state legislature that refuses to act on the wishes of the citizens of North Carolina and that bothers me.

And somebody said on Twitter yesterday real quick. The well that Bill had a lot of things in it that have nothing to do. I have no idea what was in the bill. Okay, but that's common everywhere.

Ultimately, this sports gambling bill.

Your ability to wager on sports was kibosh because people are afraid of what might happen even though it's been going on around the United States now for two years and that stuff isn't happening at a golden studio in my Mancos pizza router with the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement coach.

Let's say you have more than $1 million balance in my 401(k) revelations that determine how connect actually come back and bite me because in this is a thing that we did we get to Marrakesh received the Rogers of her to the desert before you see what's what. Her head was not there when your financial garage is thinking that the total balance in your 401(k) or IRA is yours. We have two people that want to get a hold of the two uncles North Carolina and Uncle Sam both of her to do some damage to the balance depending on what kind of other income you have lose 40% your belly looking at a million-dollar IRA that is only worth 6000 you. So how do we get around is what you don't get around it could end up in jail.

If you try to do what you can do tax planning to minimize the effect of taxation into the future. The texturing is coming out and we need to make sure to minimize the effect of the derailment of a financial accountant for the next 10 people will do it at no cost or obligation.

Put together your very own tax and retirement plan 800-661-7383 or text Adam to 21000B to route the good things happen to good people. Specially my friend Brian Geisinger link bass player ACC sports.com joins us on the Adam gold show NBA draft tonight. All right, sir, I'm going to give you the first pic you are the Orlando Magic. I don't need you to tell me about it. I need you to tell me about whose best Jabari Smith follow Ben Caro or Chet Holmgren. Yeah, I think Caro's the best of it for a while now big heroine, Chet Holmgren, 181 I really really like check prospect a lot and shoot good ball skills of the defender potentially crown coverage.

The numbers I can start of the season were staggering, but will think Caro offers 6.10 playmaker could handle control every kind of pass creative sees the floor maps the floor was really incredible to see his semen to just the amount of place he was able to make from playing at the elbow are facing up playing at the nailer plane above the break. Just what he was able to unlocking Mark Williams is unlocking Ajay Griffin and that is a moving speed yet what he's able to do as a shop maker himself of the chopper was inconsistent, but he's got good touch to the mid range shooting to pick up three so I think Caro is the best prospect in this draft. Although I do like you a lot. I don't want to, not Jabari Smith.

Like Jesus, 693 point bomber that can face up and score in the midrange and can defend a bunch of different positions. He switched against riding position as the defender of the season for Auburn select I don't want to be a knock on Smith but he doesn't have to creation abilities (he doesn't have to written protection of Holmgren so I put those guys in Knoxville. Jabari Smith and even Smith. I think you like he's closer to the simulated and I will ask to get a chance to be the best player in this draft but no go take care of your heart. So here's the way I looked at it and I agree I like I said this after going through the top three that envelope. You know, two years and now three years from now I will be surprise if it talking about Jaden.

Ivy is the best player out of this draft to me.

I'll I love IV. It is a modern point guard and that is not really up your point, but he can. He could certainly be your right is verse is is is ridiculous. Yet using this draft class that there's really no one Masons Moran in 2019. To have that kind of just like breakaway speed that get from 30 feet out to the rim before and he's got game all you can see them get to a step back. Got Pelosi showed good patience and improvement, as applicable, pass through the season.

Yeah, I think he's absolutely the kind of guy, even if using your primary creator per se is give you a lot of ballhandling and play, finishing in creation for others. You also be improvement from one year to the next. At the three-point line, hereby think you went from like a little bit more than 25% to a little bit more than 35% from the three-point line. Now he'll have to take another big step to be effective in the NBA, but that's pretty good improvement in year one, but here's how I differentiated between the three, the top three players to me. Smith elite athlete, but maybe not great super skilled basketball player but he can shoot probably the best shooter of this of this group and obviously a great defender.

Holmgren super skilled to me. I know you say you noted great metrics defensively.

I'm just not sure who is going to guard defensively at the next level because I'm afraid he might get broken because he is almost see-through.

At this point, but he 71 and he's got incredible basketball skills Ben Caro's got the best NBA body. I did and and maybe his overall package is the best. I just don't know if I can feel if quickness won't ultimately be a problem for him and I go back to the point where in the in the games against North Carolina when leaky black garden black Khalili bothered Ben Caro because of his quickness and his length and maybe that won't be a problem at the next level but that kinda sticks with me. I just don't know if Apollo is has the like half step extra to become an elite NBA player. Yeah, I will check. I think the big thing for him is dressing don't pigeonhole him and to like a set role.

I don't want to see children you know going out there distorting centers from date. Not like a winning strategy is also don't want to completely write off concerns with the frame like it is something to consider the rollover check, especially early on is going to be put him on low usage means that wanted to stand in the corner of shoe and let him roam defensively, he can be a culprit put out fires in the backside of the fence is really a testament to his upside using him as a help defender, not the one on one batch of all yeah like it is one of those things where she doesn't have maybe like elite lateral quickness to perversity for step that's what he's got to use the other part of this package 6 foot to 250 pounds, and when he should be doing instantly what was putting him into the basket.

Yahweh find what 50 pounds yeah Hubley, he's got the mentality to do it. Whatever clarity is find a contact sport court, leaning into even more.

The other part will be him just getting to tap into his craft like you know that's one of the things like he's got all think she's got shopping to schedule a Skype you will face possible. Like all those things that he can leverage in use to take to get by it over and over top defenders will also say is if he is taking the top defensive assignment from the opposing defense taken that guy out your having you stack.

I garden Caro and it's already kind of way into his like the fact that you might need to take a stop report on think Caro also forced him to play a different game. Or maybe he needs to be more a pastor needs to get on the last post up a little bit, not just to the face of your mid range of pickpocketing seated take some of that away with the with the range of perimeter defender. So I think it will allow that his office team that is on to a lot of different kinds of stuff was just thinking like a liking to drive around the sky. He's going to have to post to go to the office glass work as a pastor and just allow his gravity totally open up things for his teammates elsewhere on the court but yet it is something to consider is not like a nuclear first athlete right also mean just to go back to the Carolina games where the Tar Heels when the last two pretty manic was able to successfully defend them just because he presented a similar sized body length. I'm not trying to knock Ben Caro. I think of the three. If you are asking me who I would like the most. It would be Ben Caro because I think ultimately the overall game is going to win out and I think Ben Caro's overall package to me is the best of the three and I do love the body means got me is a great physical specimen.

He's going to get leaner and stronger and quicker over time because that just is what happens to these guys.

They all get leaner and stronger because if you don't get left behind by other than those 3+ Jade 90 who is the next best player in this draft really opens up after that, it really really does you know some people want to make a case for someone like Griffin to see other people make a case for someone like Jaelyn Turton is could be a special defender made in the Rob Williams for the Boston Celtics type okay you know his ability to cover grounded impact defender different position types on something that is something to consider their concerns with his size is not as big as Mark Williams right so can children be someone who guards Corollas roles a drop defender on the next level.

You think that's worth discussing. Think he has people he do it because it is because of the wingspan so the two youngest college prospects in the draft to see me youngest that goes in the lottery so it's worth considering that to so I think turn is another kind of guy, maybe has some type of star potential. I think Griffin if he's physically fair is another guy who has some type of star potential there does seem to be some consensus recently NBA side of things for Benedict Catherine Arizona who I like a lot and I think that's kind of like the Brendan were here right now he would appreciate JR Smith. Shauna kinda has that kind of like that that flashy being office again for really well without the basketball coming off screens relocating, but he did show flashes. They are so he can/may place brothers mattering is another sort of interesting option during is probably I don't know if you were sort of listed out in terms of like you best player equity in this draft I would bet terrain comes in for the on the top floor because of the upside, yet what is the age so Ryan Geisinger is joining us here on the atom gold show who's the best point guard in the draft. The saving someone like someone like Kennedy, Chandler, Tennessee who do not want to miss is to stop playing like an elite defender of the pickerel pastors dice to UNC this season just popped up at half past constantly getting to the pain constantly turning the corner, constantly making good decisions with the basketball. So Chandler's meeting from your point guard perspective certainly has to be in the conversation for that is just a small window that is always going to be a bit of a knock but I think the source against talking you were point guard your particular role regarding someone like Chandler out of Tennessee is similar to to discuss titi Washington from Kentucky another one. I think time ties like a little bit more of a kind of a combo guard he's got so much craft on review for the game and he's another one of those guys that could just consistently makes good decisions with the basketball. I don't think he's like overly manipulative pastor raised bending the defense with this dribbling and whipping us compactly. I think some of the stuff is is a little bit more like station to station when just very good at taking with the defense gives him so I don't think that initially makes him like a reactive pastor or anything like that.

I still see him as the kinda guy who is pretty young style taking the top of taking taking the top off of the defense with his ability to make every single passing creative into the pickerel and pass that Washington shone pretty well. He's got a nice floater.

The big thing for him is he's not that great of an athlete doesn't really due to the much so will be coming here to see what what the with the drive shooting matrix looks like for him, but he does make really nice decisions with the basketball. He's a guy like kind of makes winning places player because he can do a little I final thing for Brian Geisinger Hornets keep both escape one pick.

Keep no pics.

One of the I think each one and treat the other party would really like to see that you spoke because my look at this roster. Click. There's still so far away from being like the kind of team you would like to see them being so, the thought should be for market like Charlotte will you you rebuilding you. You reinvigorate rosters by drafting and getting as many lottery pics on the roster as possible, but I think more likely think he used for the space and the use the other.

Hopefully it's thinking 13 years that the use 15 was kind of pelicans make playoffs view.

Brandon signed trade from a year ago but maybe you use that as a veteran or my preference to use it to potentially shed veteran contracts.

They were young, they were not enough to do that you would maybe need another young player asked that type to the team to be a dumping ground for he were to try to get them to buy into Hayward is a guy that could perhaps help the roster like the Lakers next season, but my guess would be that useful in trade together I would hope that they would still see that happening. I think you did fail if they use both of these two you as the catalyst for some transaction allows them to, but look the Hornets.

They have a tendency to be shortsighted at times.

Nice job like seriously, since since Ms. Kupchak and Buzz Peterson took over done a nice job in the draft go back 2018. Find a lot of victories for this team by drafting including the second round anymore. Jaelyn McDaniels is a loser.

So I'd like to see them use these pics at players to the roster potential? Yes would be usable and intrigued the other. Somehow I like sending Hayward to the Lakers so they could have another unreliable healthy player when Ryan geisinger@accsports.com at the guys_word on twitter the draft tonight.you summa front you got June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly came fifth anniversary of the move presented by the Carolina listen to please our vets every day. Hayes has contributed to a positive move in terms of the total at 3465 units that is fighting his way back to zero is a we are proud we are proud of you Dennis. I'm proud of me to think you had a long will you basically were down where I am up close, very close to negative good thing that these are just units. These are just M&Ms and they are not actual dollars because again I would be up where I know if I actually get into the positive into the black on the bottom is ultimate so you go by let's do it. You are, let's get this done so your I hop on the home front bandwagon of somebody else now because air judge got me a homer yesterday right Julio Donnie's got me a homerun. I was on the Juan Soto thing for a bit but you know what that I would take a step back all that Bryce Harper, Phillies homerun tonight against San Diego +320 Bryce Harper Phillies all right women's PGA championship golf because why not write because why so they have actually they they had just teed up. I have no idea what's happening but I'm using. Odd that I saw an hour ago, and a threesome of Lydia Co. world number one Jessica Korda who is the top 10 player in the world, but the second best Korda sister playing perfect professional golf short and determining our news used to be number one of the world. I believe it is to try make a champion the best of those three will be Jessica Korda today at +175 okay but we have Jessica Korda wind that they call it a free Europe. I want to go NBA draft tonight. Give me the fifth overall pick to be Keegan Murray +140+ one for you. Good value.

They probably number five that's good. I'm also good to go. NBA draft and were to go Trevor keels top 30 pick at +300 to be in the top 33 in the top 30. Basically I'm saying. Whichever keels will be first ramping anywhere in the first row work. Trevor keels +300. I will sure okay I I'm I'm a little.

I don't know. I don't know on that one. But that's okay I know it's your units are your M&Ms. That's totally fine.

You don't have to know who says I need. Nobody knows what were not even allowed to do this in North Carolina.

No, not were not.

I I'm Raquel. I'm struggling a little bit to find the final pic here. I was back to the WNBA. Give me the Dallas wings taken on the Indiana fever right -8 1/2. It's a -110 but give me action on this note scrap that that's crap about absent decide between two given the Phoenix Mercury +115 on the money line over the Minnesota link diligently. Yet given the Mercury of the links +115 changed at the last second I give me medical baseballs my final.

My final pic today Yankees Astros tonight. Give me the seventh-inning to be the highest scoring inning game +6 875. The seventh-inning highest scoring high inning of the game will be the setting that is between home again Yankees and after was a 75 nothing. Nothing I haven't ever really highest scoring inning.

The seventh of Yankees and after tonight, plus a 75.

I know you have failed home runs. Six. Well, that's fine. That's what were you not on that game right now. I'm not but that's got swept by the Astros game set in Houston and won both games games actually in action right now. I think yes what typical Wednesdays and Thursdays are allowed to get away so typically if the team is leaving out on the road. They play a day game in baseballs and Thursdays has the most of the this is the atom gold shell June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly came fifth anniversary of the move presented by the Carolina listen
