This is that the Adam goals you have financial advisory through capital financial USA.com. This is the Adam Gold show sports broadcaster world and all the years there, but it's not lost on me that out of five on this award. I knew something like that from me OJ on 99 nine defendant Raleigh where you can listen to us right now you might be made. Chances are, but I appreciate the shout out. Monday and I mean it's probably just a coincidence perfectly perfectly. If you know Joe, we have a lot of things to do today and we have somebody new. Doing it with us. Grandma hills sitting in for Dennis Cox called the man the myth the legend. I'm very honored to be sitting in the captains chair. Well learn a lot from Dennis.

I'm sure I have but will see in these next three hello working to find out. Look first of all is Graybill you're really that is no way is not named after the famous British racecar driver you use a grandpa held the British that is very I get that a lot. The UA GRA HAM grandma Lori GR a EME Graham. I'm glad you asked that because I want to go ahead and clarify. This is the golden question I get asked a lot and not Zaza tenant gets written off. You really get asked this lot yes how to how to spell it. It is GRA HAM right by the former Carolina hurricanes player who my thinking of Dona Dona of the good will it grab I'm sure they had John Graham, the goalie I think so there was any of the underground's name. There was altered that's already were. Everyone on the day for Cain's knowledge but also will and will settle in right so I was just curious because it does sound like a British name. It does sound to me like somebody who played like 19 years as a striker for Sheffield United and played like in the 60s and you like ninth all time for the blades and goals sure so that soon it sounds like for me. If anybody else wants to contribute to that stupidity of your snooker player or CRA euros spent in Boulder and Cricket Graham Hill sound like a spin bowler and Cricket just come in you through your junk balls for for like two wickets you try to try to get Brian Lara out from my from the West Indies. Good luck with that will welcome. I hope I hope everything goes well I can't help you if it does if it doesn't, but for some ridiculous reason show videos is in that studio.

Please babysit me and is he holding your hand, he's not.

He's not cuddling me yet, but that's only possible crime. He will but right now he says he wants the role as associate producer sold it without dying dying right now is a lot of pressure on me. I could fool you, Graham. A lot of pressure on you. I could fool you. This you could suck today. I could fool you want of the difference right Joel. No, just like I have, but I have to be on my game today always feel like on the MC over a reunion here so whatever it is it is what it is why we had a lot of things to do on TV. I was like tell people that if your of your new card to go. My gosh, I'd like to see what this thing looks like you can find us if you're in Raleigh you can get is on spectrum at 1257 the. The antenna 34.1 and then again just download the app if you have a fire Roku, android, or Apple TV. It's W RAL sports plus it's all very exciting to get to see me in my durable shirt, are you ready to start you we pretend we don't we don't do it. I want to get the bad stuff out of the way we cut Miles bridges, rising star with the Charlotte Hornets leading scorer from a year ago. More than 20 points a game potential free agent law sees a restricted free-agent Hornets gave him a qualifying offer. The other day Hornets would have a right to match but yesterday arrested on felony domestic violence charges spanning from 82 from a Tuesday night incident in Los Angeles so nothing good about this altercation with his girlfriend fled the scene. She needed medical attention turned himself in yesterday and was arrested again is not misdemeanor domestic violence is a felony domestic this is just an ugly story start to finish. Hornets released a statement today saying that they are aware of what happened. They have no comment, there's no treatment.

Nobody knows all the details, but again arrested felony domestic violence secures as I'm reading the story here is what I don't understand and I was good to throw this out there because I need to know why it's part of the story as I'm reading it on ESPN.com and I think this is just probably wire a wire report. Let me just confirm confirm that it's a wire to ESPN news services so it's either that ESPN created storyboards and other wire services.

But why is it part of the story that bridges is also a rapper who goes by the you know, I guess the name RTD, M. B. Why is it pertinent to the story that is a rapper as someone who's a part of the younger generation being 23 years old. I did not know that okay maybe not a good wrap just as NAB does have a good career so but my question is why is it part of the story and I think I know the answer to that. I don't know that I'm right, but I'm just going to say all man. Here's a way to explain why he's caught up in domestic violence. He's a don't all this is such blatant, ugly, racist code is just I just don't understand why this is part of the story.

I don't either. I mean that we are in North Carolina. Obviously I'm a resort to Jay Cole from Fayetteville. He has a lot of good to great.

Yeah does a lot of great stuff even go back to what I think he help Bill that Dennis Smith Junior quarter. At least Dave some sort of money to build up parked in Fayetteville yeah what also wonder Mike sure did wonder Mike ever get total business.

No greatest rapper of all time from rappers like you have no idea what I don't Graham no clue what I'm talking about master Jeannie ever do anything like this, no, whether NATO might incorporate as a new nickname master Jeannie master Jim good it's it's been not been used. Anyway, I just I'm reading the story going. Why is it in here. Why is this in here other than now. We have a reason just it's just it's sad that that part story is sad and then you go and you throw in that obvious copilots get to some other news and we have no idea the endgame here is with Miles bridges. My guess is if he's not incarcerated. He'll be with the Hornets next year to get a player NBA free agency did start off with a bang. We had opt outs.

We had opticians we had traded there will be more the opticians we hit yesterday. Russell Westbrook wasn't giving back 47.1 million chance Tyree Irving knows that there is no appetite for him at roughly $36 million for one year and Brian when the horse is still beating the Kia re-to L a drum.

This is where Graham Ross a great start. This is where you play the Brian wing Horst clip of don't rule out a Tyree Lebron reunion right there is talk like this could start as a symbol. How can they possibly get why would ever consider taking muscle lust. Why would that. Why would the Lakers consider paying. The reason is because in a potential trade like this, the Lakers would save $11 in actual and potential. The $30 million is enough reason to potentially first-round. This would happen in the off-season the Lakers were potentially able to have some more flexibility with other cell golden studio in Monaco, speed to capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement coach.

Let's say you have more than $1 million balance in my 401(k) revelations connect actually come back and bite me because in this is the thing that we did we get the Mirage received Rogers of the desert before you see what's what. Her head was not there when your financial garage is thinking that that total balance in your 401(k) or IRA is yours.

We have two people to want to get a hold of the two uncles North Carolina and Uncle Sam both of you to do some damage to the balance depending on what kind of other income you have loose 40% your belly looking at a million-dollar IRA that is we were 6000 you.

So how do we get around is what you don't get around it could end up in jail. If you try to do what you can do tax planning to minimize the effect of taxation into the future. The texturing is coming out and we need to make sure to minimize the effect of the derailment of a financial accountant for the next 10 people will do it at no cost or obligation.

Put together your very own tax and retirement plan 800-661-7383 or text Adam to 21000B to route white okay Lebron James wants the headache of Tyree, Irving, maybe, maybe he does. Maybe if if Lebron believes that Tyree is the only way that they are going to have a chance to win. Then he could do that but I just don't see the Lakers I don't see the nets taking Russell Westbrook in the sign and trade. Maybe you have to get another team do not know. I to the outs.

I know where I feel like were discussing belly buttons here we have a Nice and we had Audis James Harden had 47 300000 Dollars Headed His Way and he has decided to opt out.

Adrian was Norske from ESPN on what this means for hard. You cannot negotiate a new deal with the Sixers by opting out and doing a new deal he gives the Sixers of a real opportunity to improve their roster allows them to use the time and 1/2 million dollar mid-level exception for million-dollar biannual exception and they can also get involved in some sign in trades and I know in his conversations with the team that was really important. How can we get this team better.

How can we improve our supporting cast and sliding James Harden to he can do a deal now going forward certainly make back the $47 million and more in the have an opportunity starting Thursday 6 PM. It's certainly good when Darrell Morey is the GM of the Sixers because Darrell Morey loves him some James Harden. Even though what we saw from James Harden in the in the end of the regular season and the playoffs was, not worth $47.3 million.

Anyway, Jay Williams from Keisha J.

Will and Max on ESPN radio on how Harden can flip the narrative about hard or seen him turn down money to get PJ Tucker he's working out. I truly do believe this is going to be the year that were gonna start talking about James Harden a little bit differently about how he is becoming one of the leaders of this team and it starts with him turning down option opt into his deal. Mobile symbol see what the total price tag is on that option turned out, but I mean if these taking a lot less money to bring in players that can help the Sixers when hey, more power to that would be that would be awesome.

Another opt out, Bradley Beal opted out with the wizards this night might not actually be a good thing for the wizards typically when guys opt out. They opt in or opt out to sign bigger contracts with their current team might not work that way with Bradley Beal, Ben Dowson from ESPN was on the radio with Freddie and Fitzsimmons last night actually was talking about Bradley Beal going elsewhere.

It really depends on a team having enough room to absorb him or having the ability to make trade with. When you look just right now. It got the amount of money it would take to sign Bradley Beal out like there actually aren't very many candidate more about looking team that you think might be able to move some salary to do that team like Memphis who had always looked for improvement on their wings they probably put up a dark spot so not got a big spot sewn up with Karen Jackson with a able to move enough calories to look at finding a player like him. He someone who I think they could have interest in man that suit the Lakers should go after decided to write the Lakers should try to get it aside and trade look, there are certain teams in the NBA that really are.

It seems like in a constant state of rebuild. I'm not sure Washington is one of them are not there to be able to retain their stock trade made yesterday the Zante Murray All-Star point guard from the San Antonio Spurs shipped to the Atlanta Hawks for three first round picks former hornet star Kimball Walker was just traded from the Knicks of the pistons on draft night. He was bought out by Detroit and is now free agent. We will discuss all of these things with our friend Brendan Whitted from the league Pass layer coming up in about one hour. We have all sorts of golf today John Deere classic in Illinois. No not not near Chicago.

It's actually kind of rich right on the Illinois Iowa border.

It's it's out in the in the humid hinterlands of northern Northwestern Illinois and southwestern Ohio, but a North Carolina native JT posted is in the lead eight underpar through 13 holes.

Friend of the program. Chesson Hadley is tied for eighth at -3. I only say that because he's a friend that were written for Chesson Hadley but this is the there are tuned out now to PGA Tour events before we get to the open championship.

The.

The other golf event is the live series in Portland at pumpkin Ridge trivia question who is the greatest winter ever at a major event at pumpkin Ridge. I'll ask you this grant will see this be a question for my dad because he's the golf all or part of the family wise and you should get your data the phone I don't do that. Actually, the answer is also written in the document Tiger Woods Tiger Woods won his third USM letter at pumpkin Ridge in 1996. So with their art. There are highlights with Woods is in diameter rolling in a very long birdie putt on the 17th hole second. Second, the last hole of his final match with a guy named Steve Scott who played at the University of Florida and is now a teaching professional somewhere where what's needed to make it just to stay alive. I mean Mayday all and the rest is history, which would turn pro three days later, soon learned that when it comes to goal trivia questions the go to answers always either Tiger Woods you listen to the answers. Probably Tiger Woods dancers probably to Tiger Woods or maybe Jack Nichols that would be the will be the second. Anyway, so I just thought I would throw that out. That's with a the live series is play couple things happened in the last few days. PGA Tour now owns, for lack of a better term, 40% of the European tour. It was 15% based on a deal they made during this off-season, but it is now 40%.

Here's PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan on this new will calling it an alliance. The license Rory Justin Thomas John Ron and Sasha, December, and so many others in a more… Along with the reality is that the best players in the one to compete compete for trophies with meetings with meetings. She created her own moments.

Craig Wallace is a scene that preceded and those moments are abundant on the PGA tour and tour so for us it comes back to where you to make sure for your entire certain best players in the world giving care to compete succeed at the highest level PGA Tour worlds all work together is is is the single best pathway that we have now and in the future you go back to the states as those of the things I have always matter in the game of golf it.

This is a double-edged thing.

It's clear that the PGA Tour and the DP world tour which is really the European tour that they are doing this for the kind of keep live at bay kinky, they cannot compete with the money that is being offered at live can't, no chance what this is is essentially to close off live players from access to world rankings points. What would not which will probably take a minimum of a year, maybe his longest two years for them to qualify and they may have to modify their torque, but ultimately it's about survival. What this deal does is that it guarantees that the European tour which it sort of has been for years. Anyway is a feeder tour to the PGA Tour. Think about it this way. We've got major league baseball. The European tour is AAA baseball and now the Korn ferry tour which is the feeder tour in the United States is AA baseball baseballs really were all the prospects are, but the European tour has a few there are still some teams that stash their prospects at AAA and that's what the European Torres and that is that's now in plain sight for everybody to see what other golf thing to mention before I move on. Zach Johnson is the captain of the Ryder Cup team and the Ryder Cup is scheduled for next September in Italy and he was asked if he's playing this John Deere event he was asked about the implications that the fallout from so many these American players go to play live and he said this as opposed as as it pertains to entrance on the Ryder Cup team says what I know is this in order to play on the Ryder Cup team. Whether your top six pick or a captains pick.

You must earn Ryder Cup points through the PGA of America in order to earn Ryder Cup points to the PGA of America, you have to be a member of the PGA of America. The way that we tour professionals are members of the PGA of America is through the PGA tour and he says I'll let you connect the dots from their the players who have relinquished tour membership or been banned from the tour are not members. So, Dustin Johnson Brooks To Bryson to shamble Patrick read not to play the rock, and it's even more of an issue for the president's cup team because that is a holy Ron operation by the PGA tour and none of those players can play in a PGA Tour event and that goes for international players like Louis Days Inn and Abe answer and Charles Schwartz or Brandon Grace or any of the international players who might play on that tour, there might be more, so we have the president's cup at Quail Hollow in Charlotte coming up in a few months and their field is going to look dramatically different than it would had lived not siphoned off a fair amount of the top 50 in the world more country club sports real quick.

Tuesday was both a great day and a sad day at Wimbledon great because Serena Williams was on the court she making a return from injury.

She was injured at Wimbledon in the first round. A year ago she heard her Achilles.

She had surgery try to come back. This was her first singles match in a year and she lost in three sets to harmony. 10/3 set tiebreaker. So after the inevitable. Are you done questions came yeah I was really tough I am. I mean a handsome chances and when that person didn't work out so yeah… There was a different totally different for me come back, tossing that's that's a question I can't answer no. I feel like you know I have no nose and is she might not play singles anymore Wimbledon. I bet she comes back and plays doubles. She's shall be 41 in September. I just wonder if people can fathom how amazing it is for a female athlete to still be at like she's not what she used to be, but if she were healthy she could win Wimbledon June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak of figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the moon, presented by the Carolina listen my she's going to be 41, September 23 grand slam singles titles for 14 more doubles to and mixed 39 total that second all-time tied with Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova. I looked this up, this is just a staggering number 14 and never to love has the all-time record of 59 grand slam titles in singles, doubles and mixed doubles amazing stop somebody who is half Serena Williams age will join us next a future star, likely with the Carolina hurricanes and a Calder cup champion Jackie Drury future center for the hurricanes will join us next.

So the Carolina hurricanes season ended earlier than everybody would've liked second round game seven loss to the New York Rangers and the Chicago wolves decided you know what will win a championship four years ago in 19 hurricanes season ended in the conference finals against Boston.

Yet then the Charlotte checkers went on to win the Calder cup so the hurricanes in the last four years of now 12 Calder cup than the American hockey league. Jackie Drury, who had just a brief stint with hurricanes this year, but we loved every ball to games on it scored nine goals and 18 playoff games with the wolves and is with us on the Adam go chill. First of all, congratulations on the championship how the idea. I assume you're still celebrating. Thank you very much. Thank you guys this early yesterday so celebration condescending right now and now you start to get back some training schedules wait you guys just one like three days ago when you try to impress Rod Brind'Amour. You know the COBIT break was pretty late. We had a fun couple date of the group and is really specialty some prospects there but you guys also had a bunch of veterans some guys we saw with the hurricanes this year and adjust label had a monster postseason you score like that is like bees like Connor McDavid. So what what what was that veteran influence like for you guys. I think you know we had a good core of old are you quite a lot in the National Hockey League and have a lot of playoff experience and I think all those guys kind of shoulder a culture throughout the year and go to the playoffs.

They delivered all the right message to the young guys had a promising page is joining us here on the Adam go to. So what do you remember most about your two-game stint with the hurricanes this year, which was impressive for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was to goals is an absolute blast.

I think the fans were incredible.

After my first games get interviewed on the bench. I could barely hear the questions are being asked in a nine-member first for a moment thinking you know. While this is once-in-a-lifetime and then really special. So I think just just a great fans weren't getting experience. We make it not once-in-a-lifetime that we make that a regular thing. I think it's a lot of hard work to think I got a stay day by day they present one data time. Sure, you look better. Jackie Drury is with us think we all remember that first game I think was against the Red Wings. If I'm not mistaken you guys had like five players available because COBIT and salary Issues. There was there was a lot of room on the bench yeah it was thrilling to pretty interesting but I think you know all the guys handled really well in a couple of Chicago come up in the guys in Lockerbie Carolina were were welcoming and made easy on us forever to do men. They needed to forfeit me know that was a weird situation but didn't work and how did you feel like you belong at that point yet think you know everyone. Everyone wants to play in the NHL next goal, but like I said you know for a young guy like myself. I think any of the guys in Chicago. We know we got started by day and the cherry look at all the veteran weather plane up and Carolina down shall you approach at the same way in and charting your game to the despotic to be. You have had an interesting journey. The last few years. Obviously your plan incredibly well at Harvard, then COBIT hits Ivy League sports went away. You had to make a decision soon, walk me through the decision to go play professionally in Sweden to where we are now think that of a bummer when when the I really got canceled but I really enjoyed template Harvard but you know I knew it had to play hockey for the season and DHL cute little bit uncertain with how began playing would be happening there and you know I live in Germany as a kid, my dad played overseas. I felt comfortable going to Europe and the Swedish league over there. It's a really good league a lot of really good young players.

One of the top leaders in Europe and I was fortunate that a really good organization want me to be there and worked out really well. It absolutely did what did you learn from playing the Swedish league is a great league. What did you learn from playing their I think help eating a lot. They plan a little bit of the great service of their lot more focus on 10 Eden and salmon out skating which was really valuable for me and that I think my team over there. When along playoff run to so I learned a lot from the veterans there and how to handle along playoff national season.

Bring your best to get there. Jack Drury is joining us for people who might recognize the name your your dad played but also your your uncle history played with a lot of people. He will remember him with the Buffalo Sabres but is now the GM of the New York Rangers. What did you learn about being a pro from your uncle from your dad. I think both of them. Help me out a lot. I think first notice, developing a love for the game get to go to their games as a kid being around locker rooms, watch them play think that is such a connection to hockey and drive you lot of motivation to try to get the highest level and I think both of them and my mom taught me a lot, but the game stay mentally tough handling exit down your career and end our county using them all your advantage to be the best you can do is your uncle talk more about his hockey career or his career as a Little League picture in the Little League World Series.

Yeah that's that's brought up a lot.

I think there there there, the big baseball town grown up in Connecticut so him and my dad will still still love baseball. I think you want to talk to us because I saw your uncle. I was watch that little he brings his back and it was only one only the one game we didn't have 4000 Little League baseball games on TV get hit in about a month here so we only had the title game and the big curlyhaired kid from Trumbull, Connecticut, who knew he would go on to be such a good NHL player either. Is there like Little League memorabilia in his house, but mostly one went over there were all just try to look at all the hockey memorabilia.

From Colorado and Buffalo but sure is good Little League lifting to be that guy in a Little League World Series. I just don't know how it gets any better than that Jack Drury is joining us here on the shelf couple more things in them let you go as you sit in over two months away. 2 1/2 months away from for me getting really serious here. What are your thoughts about the upcoming season. Thank you note. Right now I just come off long season and along playoff run my body back in the best shape I can you list a lot of weight, a lot of good food and not as much strength as I can and then you want to get closer to August circuit on the ice. A lot more and then construct. Little bit more skating, but right now focuses just on working on lots of account put on as much muscle I can get my body shake so how much muscle means according to what I see have got you about hundred and 75 pounds. What you think your weight is been a big yeah I live in 185 for a few years.

The old lady and I think maybe it's hard to think you know that I'd like to gain unified media. You know the games a lot faster. Nowadays you got speed in mind and not sacrifice too much speed, but I'll talk to Billy Bernstein on the phone to illustrate coach you get his important article to go. I mentioned obviously the two goals I think it may be as impressive if I have this correct 15 and one in the face-off circle. I don't know exactly think of my law more than one unit.

I got a lot of good faith the size and Carolina earned a rowdy, obviously The shuttle of the young center and tips and I think you know when you watch Jordan on TV the way he does. Citro checks up on all the guys all there also go to them. I think when you get the circle unite stuff up.

There is no question the just watching practice, the competition of practice breath test. She feels like he's a good face-off guy to talk to him to get talking about the divorce I want know one final thing I lied. Who down there. I mean, obviously.

If you could check off had a great playoffs and we know he's got all this potential. But you think you might drag up here with you and I'm not trying to assume that you know were rolling out the red carpet projector you're not doing that either, but who else down there. You think has a chance to make the state yeah I mean obviously coach the this does not meet young boys out there better than him so you think. Obviously you know I'm not management I'm not automatic decisions but the coach you got a real great future ahead of them and I think all the all the young prophets in Chicago got a lot of things going from I look at the researcher Palmer on Ogden Suzuki Alligood strong years and I think they're all you can better like to see the young guys and I look forward to seeing you know that you be here for the prospect Yeah believe so. I think we absent the meeting soon so get some dates pretty soon your help that we've we've we've been told the dates second week in July so will will see you then.

Jack Drury congratulations on winning the cup and we hope you win one here in a couple years alright well I think grammatically sure you got a Jack Drury joining us here on the I'm going so he is one of the truly right prospects that the hurricanes had to got a lot of good prospects. There's a there's a hockey IQ element to Jack Drury that is really really intriguing. West Durham is going to join us in a little bit.

This is the gold shell June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the moon, presented by the Carolina listen
