David Glenn joined the show to discuss how difficult it would be for schools to leave the ACC for either the SEC or the Big Ten. Also, Hayes Permar talks about how both the Big 12 and PAC-12 are looking to add schools to make up for schools that have left.

Financial capital financial USA.com. This is the gold shell national backup sports radio host week of the present of the backup support for the union.

We are strong is a big week for of all, it's interesting because when Adam gold is not here on his own show and backups are read, usually things think things have happened.

I think maybe I can remember I was feeling proud of gold with some big guy, but I know he was gone when the canes won the Stanley Cup game seven is on a honeymoon but a couple of times been out for summer break.

When either decide they decide to move the ACC or big retirement emits a couple things so that I be worried because, as is the buzz poolside. We were out of the water coolers could summer when you're taking the kids out of the pool like 5 o'clock 530 when it still 97° outside this you're like jetted out with the dudes and Bob's care about the potential demise of the ACC. Yes, people are talking about where it will wait but it was good happen a people saying you and seated Big Ten or the SEC who would go with them would be Duke of Virginia and I will hear and see state being mentioned in that we have evidence will bring up later about NC State dropping the deficit is. It is interesting jobs. It's all the discussion I naturally these things happened during the summer right know it's could announce a conference relied on it.

Sometimes it's happened but nobody is going to know he wants to announce conference realignment at before the awkward situation of like where we got a game Saturday with somebody that we just knifed in the back and were leaving town on right yet. If you would rather do that with people around and a lot of the conversation in today's show is going to be about the very real potential of the demise of the ACC know whether that is short-term or long-term is a bigger discussion, but right now the future doesn't look good in one of the things we get the theme of yesterday's show was that in all the other rounds of comments realignment going back your way back in the day, not Daisy is never lost a member of Maryland or South Carolina.

But the day of almost always been on the hunters side of conference realignment and not be hunted side right that there may be bigger hunters.

There may be hunters. They got out to hunt before them. In some cases but the biggest showdown of all was when they knew they were not in a position of strength in terms of numbers and watching what was on it with other leagues and there was very real potential that the Big East if they became the hunter before the ACC. The ACC might become the hunted.

That's what led to us getting a lot of Big East teams as part of the new ACC if not all, like most the teams we got were from the Big East right but that was a move whether you liked it with you. Love the teams that were picked a lot of things shook out because the weather did some of them were political in the certain states, especially when you got from University state public controlled schools but however it shook out the guarantee was at the time the ACC was the hunter and not be hunted and all the conversations recently.

It sounds a lot more like there's only two hunters left in the game Big Ten backed by Fox and the SEC backed by ESPN.

Obviously ESPN backed by ABC Disney getting the bigger of the Corporation change how you want to dive probably the end of the day the both probably owned by the same to be will know the like three people to own everything together so that it would show it all and it feels like there's only two hunters left in the game. That leaves for the real possibility that the ACC is among the hunted. Right now, and that's why you're hearing a lot of it is conjecture because people are saying what you would see fans are sandlot rather go to the SEC or out of the good of the dictator. I'd rather be with Ginger. I'd rather be Duke and whether or not that's a real possibility in the next year or two years or five years as opposed to 10 years and is a more real possibility.

Now that it ever has been that I can remember we only for hunger games on this.

Basically our got admit like I maybe if we can get a supply drop. If we did this for like 10 or 15 years ago I would know every pop-culture effort that I get hunger games are big enough. I should know and I know you know I some if you go some distribute then there's like you know you put three fingers up their salutes come on the Yakima yet this three fingers lie Big Ten back 12 but that now that I got I got the hunger games down a path so it feels like a scary time, especially if everyone listening now, not on the stream somewhere in internationally, mostly listening or the state of North Carolina. We were sorry about this before the show Charlotte Hornets came and left and came back to North Carolina in my sports lifetime right so I've known life without the Charlotte Hornets Carolina Panthers didn't exist for the first you say half my life now.

It's about 1/3 of my life for the first third of my life and much of my sports developed for 10 years. You know those early teen years it was worth it. It's like I knew life without the Panthers and I knew it was consumed in FL and I enjoy having the paper just like I do have the words I don't want to lose this like my life.

My sports life wouldn't be totally altered because of Siva happen in other places and I get the we don't have a anchor city of the top five city in America North Carolina so it's always a little bit of the small-market deal right.

Same with Carolina hurricanes. I spent about half my life without the Carolina hurricanes for little more than have a life out of here. I would be devastated if we lost them, but again it always feels like we got big gifted NHL team that we don't deserve. Anyway, in Raleigh.

I'm not not knock anybody at all the hard work. The people of made to make the change. The entity that they are they truly are part of Raleigh and I have a theory about if you exist past 25 years you get into like a second-generation financial that much I can talk about their a lot of people now adults making money to buy season tickets who do not remember life without the Carolina hurricanes we have for them. This would be a little bit of a different deal but would be along the lines of that same thing with Panthers fans in Charlotte. If you're like under 31 about describe applies to you for the hurricanes or the Panthers formative than the horns, moved in the middle, or Bobcat, but for me growing up my entire life living here consuming sports it's personal for me that that ACC is like the number one thing, like if you're in if you're an NFL fan you may be paying more attention to Panthers. But if you're a buyer age or older or even a little younger even if ACC college basketball coachable isn't your number one sport you've always existed in a world with the ACC was in your state in your newspaper dominating your sports page little bit different in Charlotte. But even still, you are not fully removed from the basic terms.

Another like it is been the talk of your sports life consistently.

If it was always number one. It was always there right and there is now this very real possibility that again.

I think you move a little quickly. If you think of, Texas seven last year you seal USC happened last week and out. Tomorrow it's going to be Carolina due to the Big Ten. But hypothetically whatever I I'm not convinced that's gonna happen, but program director Sandy put it best when he is like if you heard that right now the news broke during today's show or why Adam Gold is on vacation and how it always happen then your that that Duke of Virginia is you and sealed with the stickball, you would see do Virginia and Miami are all going to the Big Ten or whatever it is you would be would shake you to your core, you wouldn't be surprised at this point. I like that is a real possibility. I don't think that's a likely scenario for the short term but repeat that taught people smarter than I am, who I think would back me up on that but may not write.

I think the ACC in the grid right there in place buys them a little more time.

The question is the longer term is the ACC actually surviving entity.

And that's quite easy to think about and create because of the of the unknown of like you end up in a league where the floor big for ACC schools in North Carolina are in the same conference there in two or three different coverages.

It's it's insane to think about one of the reasons North Carolina and then followed by Virginia are the two most populous states that currently don't have either a Big Ten or an SEC school and that right so I live in what order the biggest states are, but you can population but you can think of Texas, California.

California just got out to the Big Ten right New York, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, probably high up their rights all the states. Florida and you all the states belong to. Somewhere the SEC of the Big Ten. Currently, North Carolina and Virginia do not.

That's why after Notre Dame, which is currently the biggest ship still out there in the comments rely on the world and obviously a chip that is surrounded there. Not all too interested in new very heavy chip that I could Big Stone you not really move them quickly. The next biggest chips become the biggest schools in the states of North Carolina and Virginia and possibly good partners for the schools.

The the intro that I'm against. It is your second as we get out the gate but now renting it out again.

11 minutes after the start is just weird vibes at a time where again I don't think it's good happen this week but it could definitely looking like the isn't insight for the potential ACC or least the shift as we know, and that that could be part of the games that are they waiting out for a total change in college football but maybe allows the rest of the conferences to stay more traditionally attacked will see again will ask Chip Patterson and David Glenn to good friends might also know a lot more about the stuff that I do questions along those lines, golden studio with my friend Coach Pete the router with the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement coach. How does longevity risk figure into our retirement and income plan. This is the best of times and the worst of times and longevity risk means to live too long, but to me everyday lives not too long after we want to money to outlive us and unfortunately many people have seen you out there listening. Maybe one of them. Your money is not designed to outlive you.

You might outlive your money and that's not what we want to have happen as we get to that day after you run out of money not can be a fun time. Let's design a plan that guarantees will never run out of money. We call it the GPI plant growth protection lifetime income for the next 10 people is the golden ticket out of the snow that even a good no cost or obligation, and all you have to do is call we make it so easy.

Would you like financial independence into your retirement and beyond. 800-661-7383 that golden ticket is a $1000 value or you could text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete to root with you about the gate to get some actual news and audio in context of these conversations.

The news conference realignment carousel is spinning the news that came out yesterday during our show is here now. Basically since the power five didn't agree to a new deal for the college football playoff right and that since things to the next step which was the next round of Coventry 11, Oklahoma, Texas get sucked in by ESPN in the SEC, usually in USC get sucked in by Fox Big Ten with the other three left on the big 12 pack 12.

The ACC, the ACCs grant of rights just make a buys them some time at the very least to hear talk more about it but just trust me. It makes it very, very, very hard for somebody to bolt for the ACC.

Even if you like. Why would eclipse go the SEC that is big and so much money to trust me, there's a lot more to it than that to what it leaves is the ACC in a distant position more safe, relatively then the big 12 pack 12. So now the banks of the backroads fight over each other in the report yesterday with the big 12 is trying to bring in at least four schools Arizona Arizona State Colorado who either 10 years ago and left the big 12 and Utah which covered particular power player in football they want about 12 last year. I like a circle in the Pac-10 now again neck recon than the pending anybody starts a new conference. Forget numbers right has a number driven out the window stupid this point.

The other two schools that they would potentially want to talk to her Washington Oregon that's basically like all the big prizes left in the pack 12 pack 12 meeting. The other report that will give her dinner stop CBS will talk to Chip of feces that actually happened. The other report was the pack 12 trying to make it don't called alliance with discarded agreements with the ACC to maybe do some scheduling stuff and maybe a championship at the end of the year. Between the two champions. Not sure how that Messerli work in the picture of intelligible playoff that whatever you like, a serious and XM radio how to use to be separate and just immersion together to talk and go like this. The coastal or the OR, the pack at the PAC ACC or the ACCPAC's workshop that yes the coastal, what everybody's really trying to do is beautify themselves further next TV deal yet out of the Big Ten right now is negotiating theirs with Fox Fox basin. Tell them you would be a lot more truck dress if you could get you at UCLA and USC, though I don't will make that happen, and the pack 12 just announced yesterday that every new that their old deals that expire there we can renegotiate yesterday that their renegotiating their media deal. As of right now, partly as a desperate ploy to like get a number on the table of what they can get to their schools and again trying add some ghetto quads I relationship with the ACC for bigger games. I guess like this, drop, maybe everybody's got to drop a fluff game instead of adding a knife conference gave it means everybody will play a pack 12 team everyone on the whatever UNC will play cow dance that we were going to do with how you live out and that the bins in total. He was like Nana Nana, as you predicted, that was not worth the paper was printed on paper. It was an email that felt worthless and well it wasn't even printed on paper it was worth presenting trail so the aces in the ACC. We would not as weak right now is the pack 12. The big 12, the Big Ten probably doesn't want any more of those schools or they would've taken them already. That's kinda what what people looking like looking at in that one. I don't know if the pack 12. I would see the reports of the pack 12 making offers to big 12 school to try and bring them over the base barely try to lock down their position and again the ACC has. There's a little bit more tightly locked down for right now. The funding of the four main schools potentially that would go for the pack toward the big 12 Arizona Arizona State Colorado and Utah within the next two Washington and Oregon and I don't mean that obviously had no authority, conference tradition out the window in these decisions at this point. Today nobody cares again. Colorado just flipped 10 years ago. The five just flip right back what you see in UCLA and USC jump ship and you gotta be think about survival mode so we wait to see if any official word happens with that or if the pack 12 make some statement of strengths and talks about reaching a deal with the network, which is all to be tough now because I don't think Fox is good bid that hard on the pack 12 programming because they got the team they want out of their to their Big Ten. Next up getting out the gate.

Oh yeah were talking NBA summer league white. That's right, Brian. Geisinger isn't even in here. We do not need Brendan Whitted to talk summer league when it comes to ship home. Now, a couple things general grin. I'm not your player, be a scout guy. I can't say whether is greater not right holiday Carolyn number one check number two of the city. Some people thought he should in the borough number one overall pick. There's a lot of people like Kullberg and zagging covered college basketball, heavy, and the like.

He should be number one, that's fine. Can we be real about this. The knock on general grin as it is like white, goofy looking marauding rail for about all that and went to get Zach out with others in which people can like an okay I got in the right is like that that they played we conference talks about them and they don't win titles there still really good. I got your goodbye was said that but the average man dismisses Gonzaga. They dismissed a tall skinny white dude right. You gotta watch them play like he is not going to every night, put up what was it 23 points on nine shots seven boards, six blocks for assist any look sharp. People also. The haters were out there replying with video blade that there is like is highly packaged people were like movie about your applying what he was going head-to-head with the Coeburn of the Illinois was, like your drop step into drops of the wrong word like take a dribble and I put the shoulder into the basement. Bustling's way of the basket, but ever so effortlessly it seemed it was like.

There's also this gentleman so that's true.

He is going to put on weight but you can see like his shooting stroke is a legit one. He's not just like you know that there's a lot of big men that you rely ON any send the three-point shot this year than they come out and they take their first report in your life and you see this happening you are taking three-point shot doesn't think you're making that he is three-point stroke looks legitimate and natural. He looks very legitimate and natural dribble the ball being whatever it took to block a guy like a fadeaway and admittedly put it behind his back.

A dribble because the got shot, a block was on the left sided with the house back to the right side and a nice dish of a he is very good will know how good but after the game he was asked about particular block shots. Protect your back.

I knew summer league record for your competitive only for oncoming American mark, there's always tomorrow come to break it again if you so set in summer league record BSO record six blocks is oppressive. 23 points on nine shots is incredibly efficient will see again and I know I know it's summer league, but it was fun fun to watch what I don't even know with the simile schedule is I should pay attention to it Drupal big Carol get his chance to shine sometime soon, but I do think it's fine to be skeptical of anybody, even if the draft number one, two or three everybody makes their own evaluation watch people play and expects just because you didn't think she had home. Chet Holmgren should've been the number one pick or the number two big whatever. I don't think that makes you a hater.

I do think there were some people that work out particularly strong with their hater ship and there haters were drawn out, who had no clue anything about his game, but the fact that he was tall, white, goofy looking made him a little more hated Vegas summer league starts tomorrow first game Houston Orlando. That game is 10 o'clock Eastern on ESPN seeking watch bank arrow and then didn't Orlando ever been drafted to fight to get some addictive yet then getting here I was thinking this is used to did you have high traffic to I think so.

I can remember yes bank arrow will be playing tomorrow. Sounds like a Vegas next up that shares her back last night. That's right we talk a baseball that is Cox like that's our role. But honestly, I want to torture over classic classic mats serves or had a believe it was 11 strikeouts six shutout innings, or some like that and the Mets lost almost. I was looking for an upset baseball pick to take all baseball games basically base motives or coin flip tells everyone that had like just good value and I settled on the Royals Astros which didn't hit because I almost went with who beat them.

The Reds think it was something terrible beat the Mets and almost 1 of the buzz right now would be better get Baxter's or because even more important that is victorious is not victorious but great stats start for the bed is better than that with the news that he was a champ in the minor league rehab story. I did see this while he was at AA see where was he at the Birmingham at the Binghamton rumble ponies.

Excuse me right mightily name for testimonial ponies.

He spent over $7000 on a steak and lobster dinner for the clubhouse and then he just bought headphones for everybody.

Harry Potter pods with the kids call these days that headphones without wires.

The wireless headphones.

The Airpark satellite called an air pods are those Apple specific. Yeah teenager it's auto user pods to be there headphones. I'm not printing them whatever they might've been there. The Bluetooth headphones, wireless earbud. Yeah, not wireless earbuds, not air pods Siesta back shares. My guess you can't remember the guys name when they were braves affiliate somebody came through there. There was a pretty big draft pick. And he did something of similar nature lease like paid for much food. I think you get maybe about shoes for everybody of some sort, always cool thing to see somebody do, but always all maybe think Lucas you looking like I spent $7000 on that euro 25 dudes hunt near 200 bucks for a pair of air pods got what was that another 5050 will whatever it is when you put against the percentage of what Baxter's remakes, it's like extremely small. I come down on you would you and I have paid like hundred bucks for some kids out of baseball team that had nothing to get 100 boxes of that in half like you did equivocate a popsicle cave on you and I what you're getting by the bodega still get special or something like a work ethic with our seller that always intrigued me of like if you back days. Think of it as a letter writing campaign. Now I guess we could email or DM. There's nothing social media.

If you hit up every NBA player. Every NFL player, every major league baseball player. You said a man like hundred bucks you you literally wouldn't notice it is less the thousand of a percentage of point of of your wealth.

Many like attend out on the hundred bucks is nothing that is below Penny's. Do you multimillionaire or in some cases billionaire just early hundred bucks if you could get a couple hundred of them to. I responded I can always write a new synagogue about yeah here's my member to make a quick buck just for now you have to account for postage like time lost whatever but like objects or people would pick you up.

Now the equipment out as you see it you hit somebody up. You put your Vin bow in there you like a man. I'm not poor I'm not homeless but like you can help me out by throwing the 50 bucks you would even notice it. What you got see who throws you 50 or 500 bucks I never get a break here, but I do remember was a few years ago, a college game day young guy. Throughout this Benbow family. I need beer money or not, as a people to starve them or him like their size and saving thousands upon thousands of dollars like props of that guiding me little proactive yeah yeah be honest about it.

Hey man may maybe say like a try to throw a bigger wedding that I can afford just didn't everybody be a star in MLB starting HL*know what Instagram see if I get five or 10 bucks yeah somebody by just give you 500 bucks you see how much you make on that suspicion. June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became split look at the 25th anniversary of the moon, presented by the company of North Carolina. Listen now my friend David glad he would be long owner and editor of the sports generally was a long time. Most of the day. Glenn showed ran for about two decades statewide here in North Carolina is a two-time North you're on the sports broadcaster of the year, the first radio host ever to win that award is mostly TV folks before that and he covered the ACC since its inception in 1953.

He now teaches sports media UNC Wilmington as a contributor a chapel bro.com TV and radio guests on radio shows regionally and nationally. I thought we could just get the clips of him being a guest kicked back to him. Put that together pot hat podcast and be good stuff is like I had rather teach the next generation how to do it is my good friend Dave Glenn what's going on man. Aloha, my friend and thanks for the Jimmy buffet on the way. I'd also tried to give you a David Glidden were the introduction, although I didn't mention your Twitter handle which is identical and show my bad for that.

When I did not put on the doctor my bad dog happy to join you anytime on any matter migrant.

I sat with you and watch tax role in an as though I don't know Louisville joined the ACC or Maryland was leaving I watched you break the news either on-air on Twitter or other places as the media has evolved to where you break the news. You are one of the first people I thought of what it looks like the ACC, at least as the rumors go has moved from being the hunt to the hunter to the hunt did as far as pop potentially losing members. Instead of adding them before we get into the grant of rights is going to ask you put your lawyer had to talk some about that nothing you can't mention grant of rights in your answer, but you know this America question about that because that's you generally what is the ACC thinking right now as they see Oklahoma and Texas moved the SEC UCLA and USC the Big Ten will nervous out on the one hand, but it believes that it is in a better place than either the pack 12 or the big 12. While completely accepting that it is nowhere near the financial stratosphere of the Big Ten and the SEC and we all know that followed. The money is the smart phrase and a lot of context, including college athletics. The reality Hayes is that in realignment and expansion. You do have to find schools that bring more to the table. Then they take away from the table as an extra mouth to feed, and about a year ago there were only a couple of juggernauts in the big 12. And guess what, the FEC's all that value and now the Texas Longhorns of the Oklahoma sooners are headed to the SEC, UCLA and Southwark. How are two of the gems of the pack 12 yelled again a league following behind the monsters that are the Big Ten and the SEC are not the Big Ten's all that value, USC and UCLA needed more financially lucrative landing point surveyor on the boat what the ACC hopes is that there aren't many more schools that can add value to the eighth, the FTC of the big cancer and is currently the best schools include Notre Dame, Clemson, UNC, and maybe others, all of which have either a long-term relationship with the ACC or the funky one that the fighting Irish of that, so they're anxious because a decade ago, Maryland officials were swearing to them on eyeball to eyeball were not leaving and that is not a play on words there were there were literally all in the same room. One decade ago with Maryland representatives, wearing their fellow APP members were not leaving and it turned out they were secretly negotiating with the Big Ten police that actually happened way not an exaggeration. So hope that your long-time members, especially God can appreciate that money is not everything, and even a smaller financial gap doesn't doom you to never never land. But as we learned many many times when there's financial gap get too big. Obviously a school like a Clemson or Carolina or Notre Dame is going to have to listen and to have to run these numbers by the university presidents who are the ones who ultimately make these decisions about the current climate conference realignment, and specifically how it affects the ACC. I now do when asked specifically about the grant of rights. One reason why the ACC can can feel a little bit safer.

It's not about that. They trust everybody look at each other out in the eyeball.

I will sit in the room necessarily, although hopefully me again you like to help you live in a world without at least that can trust me something but backing up that trust is this grant of rights that at least two 2036 it all the articles I see I'm not.

I'm not knocking people doing the job right now.

This is the talk of your college football or even college basketball writer lets you come recruiting. There's nothing else happening as it is the only store to talk about she could talk about every potential rumor right and that's why yet Carolina fans are seeing their name and area into state fans get nervous by not see the name of that right specifics where we are you suggesting all of it and not knock anybody was discussing those things, but in their LC one sentence about what the ACC does have this thorny grant of rights and then enter the date they learned that it is difficult but I feel like maybe deserves a paragraph or an article about how thorny this grant of rights is explained to us it be better terms that I can what the grant of rights is and why it does make the ACC feel like to have at least time to work with and the people are to be exiting the door this summer as some may think starting point for this phase is that if you want to leave a major conference for a new conference different conference. There are two penalties are looking one is an exit fee.

You may remember a decade ago Maryland was facing an exit fee of $50 million or so. 50 $50 million or so, but they cost so much more money in the Big Ten that whatever they ended up paying in a settlement that was somewhat lesser than that it was still working for them to pay this huge can of millions of dollars penalty because there were going to make so much more an annual basis as members of the Big Ten which did turn out to be true in the ACC UK there is a second penalty, and as long as it holds up in the legal system, and the court is an enormous if you leave, you are essentially giving the value of your multimedia athletic rights. Even if even if you're a member of this other league. Whatever it is, the money that your athletic department receives or your athletics teams on TV and streams and all the rest still goes back to the ACC again as long as this holds up in court. Now think about this. Let let's just pick a number. Let's say you make 30 million pick a number in that range. 30 million a year for your athletics. Media rights are in at the conservative number if you play this out all the way through the end of the great grant of rights, which is 2036 is you set that 14 years. Do the math 30 million×14 years that is hundreds of millions of dollars. That's a pretty big penalty now will it hold up in court did not have to charge you thousand dollars and now we don't have enough time to get into all that, but that I can guarantee you everybody calling their lawyers right now and this is why Hayes went as you and I talked over the years.

I thought this day was coming late this decade because if you think of it logically, let's say it's 2030 year 23rd, 100, only six more you run on that grant of right right so your penalty is way longer, and by that point, your benefit is way bigger to join the Big Ten or the SEC I really thought this was coming 5 to 7 years down the road, but these debates are happening.

Instead, in the year 2022 and not at this moment I'm not sure which way it's going to go to Glenn. John is talking about potential for conference realignment. Yet he said it perfectly.

Like obviously in 2030 bows. The penalty looks is bad and you might say I will. The guys that in court we can write that reduced anymore and at that point.

If you follow the current projection models you be looking at what you know you would be making in the SEC are the Big Ten that point it's even bigger numbers of a gap that you are right now CS becomes a more tempting proposition any of those ways that being said, did drawing two things out of your answer of one but like I tried to introduce the show saying I don't feel like something is happening now. The grant of rights by VC at least a little time you have the roof risky to jump right now and challenge that cleavage of the hundred million dollars penalty, but time seems to be the only thing that the ACC has on its side is is right now the is it either add Notre Dame or risk coming totally irrelevant. Or I guess the other scenario is for the ACC bide its time and almost hope that this whatever it's discussed of heard it almost like an AFL NFL type things with the Big Ten and the SEC basically hope the book of this new branch of football that is not worth wrecking your conference to do it and maybe some of your current comfortable members into play that league and you gotta figure that all out, but it's that hopefully convince everybody that it's not worth moving because everything else. Our basketball league works great in all these nonrevenue sports we would JB trips in there worth keeping together right now at you is that a possible scenario.

The ACC has enough time to buy and lit a college football. You know super league crop up. However, it might yeah I think there's a possibility that a tweaked version of what we have right now is what we see for the next handful of years. What I mean by that is, the ACC did not just recently fall behind financially chiller.

There are a lot of reasons 20 years ago we put it this way. 20 years ago, the Atlantic Coast conference was the wealthiest league in America per school payout each year was larger for ACC schools. Even that was for Big Ten schools and SEC schools.

Fast forward 20 years. Gradually the SEC in the Big Ten in part because they have successful football programs in part because they created the Big Ten network in the SEC network long before the ACC got around to creating the ACC network. This gap first. They leapfrogged the ACC you now the gap keeps growing and growing and growing. What you sometimes hear from ATC officials a is being polite being right now. It's roughly $20 million a year picture picture the Big Ten and SEC schools getting annual checks from their conference offices of about 55 million a year per school picture.

The ACC school getting about 35 million per year per school and exit your shared revenue. Obviously you make more athletics money individually is University that you don't have to share some ACC officials. They won't already be in this sort of second-tier league financially for more than a decade, and yet we still won six of the last 13 men's basketball national championships right below the PP winning almost half the time. Once it has still won national titles plural and competed for others under Dabo Sweeney in the Megan juggernaut sport of football. Jimbo Fisher led Florida national title that is not ancient history so there is a financial gap that can be sustained even if it's significant where your schools are still waiting lacrosse national titles including Olympic style sport but also football and men's basketball national titles. What is the threshold at which the financial gap get large that you just can't pay your coaches. You can upgrade your facility to can have the same recruiting budget and all that stuff catches up you competitively. I bring all that out because I don't think right now those 20 million a year Care. The ACC that if the forecast down the road, where each Big Ten and SEC school, getting in the neighborhood of and by then maybe ATC schools are projected get 50 or 60 million year can you really keep up with the Joneses when they're making your literally at that point twice as much money per year, and the gap is 50 million year instead of 20 million a year per school. I don't have all those answers but that's why I believe a tweaked version of our current reality is not an impossibility really know the difference between like goldplated locker rooms like diamonds gutted like lacquer like you can make that locker room $60 million more expensive but it did take a look any shinier to the 18-year-old daughter. He thinks it's the coolest things ever seeing us to find the right coat you can win a larger level, then maybe your resources justify the ACC.

Unfortunately, as the world has just evolved into a football driven universe. Remember some estimate 80% of the revenue is football related 19% men's basketball and 1%. All other sports combined yard. It is part of the ACC fabric that it has been the trailblazer in men's basketball and some other sports, and it never really been the king of the hill in football and we just evolved into this world where football pays a lot more bills than the other sports doing that's bad for the ACC and making us all feel better about any reports of the instant demise of the ACC. I was quite in panic mode, but I do like to hear that even as this grant of rights becomes less of a barrier to leaving there still are some reasons to be hopeful that the ACC would endure just in in a admitted lower tier sort of money and football compared to what the Big Ten in the SEC are to be rolled out. I appreciate your time.
