Although I guess he follows me to the amount on on Twitter Travis Hancock at T-bone WF NZ from the back deck show in Charlotte.

Travis Hancock is a fun follow on Twitter. Even if you don't care about sports. He is a fun follow on Twitter and will talk about the Panthers before, but before we get to that first will did you change your name on yelling your gravity at Robbie and Kate Bellinger is about to Robbie with it, i.e. because it's a different year different Robbie so I'm now driving a car company RAD i.e. different year for me productive respect. Robbie enters the glitches and he got a lot of wishes apparently opt out Friday I got to feel better about myself doing it. I like it.

Maybe you've grown. Maybe you're taller of you know whatever whatever gets you through the night. Ethan Bayer first or do you want to get there might just get it.

We… Out they were not pretty at the pilot got a lot of thought on their I want to interrupt your child with that I do I do is run saving for podcasts. All right, so who is losing the lead is it, Sam, Donald, who talk trash to the defense or is it Baker Mayfield why. To know exactly what they have gargled draft document resembled a larger show a year ago we talked about a lot. I am reject man like that with him darlin'.

I'm not sure I'm done with them. Walter having to drag a fan or poor cover right I had a dog I don't really know exactly what that trash talk with an interest to know what it is not. It feels like we were not down there like your parochial because my morning hours were down there tomorrow Wednesday for the first time, but it feels like standard kind of in the leading lady on a not unexpected because they could do the offense. I activated the new wide receivers by corral darling. So far all of the quarterback, but rookie quarterback in the you know the young kid that happens, but we seen this before with Sam. He goes out. He looked all right last year and Yet he was okay. You look the part growing well confident that we know once the path along quite a bit today and get harder and more difficult in the guise of going out for real. Sam has the ability to melt rather quickly. Sam could have believed all he wants you right now what we or when things get really real. We know that ultimately that the Baker probably should be the guy could Sam have the ability to take control when it matters not.

Travis Hancock is joining us here on the Adam gold chokes right after the trade was made.

A buddy of mine who actually used to produce this show is a producer up at ESPN and got me to go on their afternoon show to talk about it and what are the odds that Baker Mayfield is the starting quarterback on like the Bahrain high if if it Baker Mayfield through three preseason games cannot eclipse Sam Donald then that's all it Baker Mayfield like so I used to be a Jets fan.

I'm a recovering Jets fan Trevor. Here's what my take on Sam is that he doesn't really like to push it.

He does he's what he's kind of kid to conservative to be this average.

Like if you get to be this average at least take some shots down the field learn from Daniel Jones, who's not afraid to make thousands of mistakes because he does all the time.

Donald plays into safe.

I think Baker is a better version of Donald I think is the better player. I don't think he's awesome is there is a good read of Baker that absolutely I don't think they have gargled in the first four years.

When you get ripped description you have for every conservative and any hold onto the ball of the project will be the director think they would all that you're saying you never as a coach or organization want to do stuff just to placate their we understand that we don't know holy. What is the hockey format will Wrap on the hockey. I don't think so, but in the fans. I the enemy number one. Number one no doubt about it.

So if you go into the season and you think the Cleveland Browns in week number one you got it. Why Baker Mayfield shopping at the to go after them to get involved in that stadium. Could you really truthfully that you know what Donald outdoor breaker Guy per week number one. How in the world could you sell that and if things go awry. Donald immediately you're probably going out to turn the Baker not long after that. Why would you when you quite a brown week number one want to not play Baker Mayfield with all the progress you have, you get to another player here in the second, which is a couple of things based on what you just said hundred percent agree with you on the perception of met rule being on the hot seat because they asked me that question.

Also on that on that interview and I'm like I don't feel I don't know me make a bad year and might not be his fault, and they can have a good year and we could obviously wants the team. The guy so they could be better with somebody else so I think the fans percent and media perception of hot seat is different than the owner. Here's the other thing I think about Baker whether or not he's great.

Doesn't matter as much. He carries himself as a number one quarterback, probably better than his ability. Sam Donald doesn't there's no presence with Sam, Donald and Baker very much has one you are about right. We talk about in the lead up to you know we had talked forever about we want Baker Mayfield and load it on quarterback by forever going on will be your point will be after this year, but that the one thing you could say that the major difference is were not in the huddle were not in the locker room per se, but you don't get the fact that they have gargled command the heart. Donald walked in the huddle and those guys look at it with a fully for the good and bad of Baker Mayfield. He he is still able lead the way he played back that they respect the way he played the game with the energy with that whacker even talk to the media here like a number one to speak at the podium like a guy trying to get different than the way that Baker talk and talk to different people trying to you know annihilate the character of Sam Donald command a different respect to a different level of trust. I think back with a different part of your point.

I think Baker ultimately will be the starting quarterback and I think it'll be in week one, for many of the reasons that you cited Trevi Hancox had said TiVo WF NZ on my head what I thought about that. I am not forgetting his JC stepped on the field. Finally, you talk about presents the mean we sort of forget that this kickplate want to games last year.

Whatever it wasn't until suffering the season-ending injury and like they are treating him like all man.

He's back his practices must've been so great last year that this guy already feels like an established player got hurt in week three. On that by you know we back it I like about you quite a lot people up the hype for him. It's not about people in that building at the highest level from decision-makers to coaches. They all believe that he is legitimately that shut down number one quarter and yeah it's a little scary that he had to go on the public last week already back today.

Although he sat out some drill to be extra careful with that because you know if he's out there playing at the level we played with. Although just to navigate on. You take them from a good defense to a potentially great feedback got Jeremy kid back there safety.they got really grown. On the other side of their as a leader.

Another player he's out there man… Secondary be really special, would have to be because they walked the automatic upfront the other edge rusher opposite Brian Berger is really spot that the monitoring here popping the linebackers outside of Knob off the wall.the public right now. The surgery outside is not constant is not a lot of depth behind him so the secondary really the heart and soul of the defect tonight and I think a lot of that depends on the health of your he's an absolute physical and I work alongside it just hopefully the foot injury that you know everything we thought Greg Olson later on in his career, but it seems like a wonderful 1 foot injury. You know there's always another one around the corner of your hopefully will be okay because if you have a shut down corner it makes so many other things on your defense so much easier. So will close on this week you. There are positions of real interest for the Panthers.

We've got left tackle with Vicki quanto that'll work itself out. Those look like Brady Christiansen is progressing really well to where if equality was not ready to be the left tackle. Christiansen could man, that spot maybe 1/4 starts inside, but ultimately I think they're better if they flip but what about Derek Brown in the middle of the defensive line is I get the sense that that really is the key to this team defensively yeah you're on a really good got the doll that walked out the on the plane that will have a conversation with you… Puppet really the last whatever and how many gave the 1345 Katie really took it to another level what you're right.

We focus on the edge rusher what that interior right defect with a big problem last year as well. I other guy walking right now with Derek Brown. You know you going to be a good player which he had been a time working.

He elevated to a great choir, a kind of flight work.

He was to the level where he was picked which was the seventh pick in the draft were not sure yet but again, much like JC hornet. We talked about how you elevate the level if their round goes from just good to great at times. What does that do for Brian Burns and the other edge rusher your exactly right. I guy we don't really talk about why you waited to kind of, you don't not the sexiest spot there necessarily to talk about what you know I'm interested to see great leadership, no doubt about that. You got that part out just a matter of distantly game a game out quite like you did end of last year and hopefully that betting against Miami really rattled. But it did last year that carryover a very intriguing guy to monitor at T-bone, I lean a lot.

Maybe by the next time we talk I'll go back to Travis, but for right now I kinda like to have its training camp, which I know were tried all sorts of new things and we ran out of time. We don't have time to talk about anything.

There, now that you know what next time give me to be over. It just good beats 12 minutes of the Travis. I appreciate your time and mental talk to you soon… You got a chance Hancox's fund to chat with Janice golden studio with my friend to see through it with a capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement hotels longevity risk figure into our retirement and income plan. This is the best of times and the worst of times and longevity risk live to me everyday lives not too long we want to money to outlive us and unfortunately many people have seen you out there listening. Maybe one of them. Your money is not designed to outlive you. You might outlive your money and that's not what we want to have happen as we get to that day after you run out of money not to be a fun time. Let's design a plan that guarantees you never run out of money.

We call it the GPI plant growth protection lifetime income for the next 10 people is a golden ticket out of the snow that even at no cost or obligation, and all you have to do is call we make it so easy. Would you like financial independence into your retirement and beyond it. 800-661-7383 that golden ticket is $1000 value or you could text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete to root to a profile of the city of Tampa as we continue our review of the entire NFL, although not necessarily football like you might want to visit you might want to go with the Panthers down to the game and intent when they play the bucket down so you need things to know about will give you that when were done with that will chat with Steve Colletti from NJ.com New Jersey advanced media because the live golf tour was in town in his neck of the woods at Bedminster about 50 miles from New York City 50 miles due for about an hour due West of New York City, and I will talk to you about the experience. He followed Phil Mickelson wrote about the Mickelson experience on Friday. Anyway, I see a lot of things talk about steeply, but until we get to that point time preview Tampa RA I got I got some feedback on the candlelit diner. Oh really from last week okay and not to mention Indianapolis so we talk to friends over the mix 101.5 morning show here therefrom, and it is a great spot candlelit diner menus too long. Now you do that you like 12 pages on the menu senselessness. By the way. Another fun fact about India before he gets Tampa Bay Elvis's last concert was in.

Oh yeah fun down there near now there are a lot of sorry so a lot of things to explore. First of all, good place to stay in Tampa you can stay at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

That's that that's what Tampa has the cell wanting this is a place for your staff okay but there are a lot of hard rock Hotel and Casino that you say want to okay well but I can't dispute that exactly.

I can't dispute that I think about you. You know you have buffet breakfast in and pull some slots is one of many there are. That's great, quite hard rock – quite a lot there quite a few others wanted Tampa you can stay out you could do is activities. Say for example you want, take a stroll down the river .6 mile walk again on the Riverwalk to get out for some of it makes you some sunscreen with you if you don't get to the beach and just you know stretch the legs little bit choir out about check out the Florida aquarium Florida aquarium very sexy really really nice. I should have a great aquarium yeah right sticks out all the way on the ocean and the Golden blaze ocean everywhere in Florida should have great great aquarium. Also for some nighttime entertainment that she had out to the Tampa theater right you can either catch a show or a movie there. The Tampa theater opened in 1926. Yes, the Tampa theater is a nonprofit theater as well. Movies movies occasionally some shows all the nonprofit theater again. 1926. Pretty cool architecture and such and there, by the way this Sunday. The showing blazing saddles. Oh my gosh we got to go.

I let's go take a trip that is going to go back and get up loaded times. Sorry.

Slim pickings also feel free to check out the call the Tampa ballet now is very famous for their ballet. Yeah ballet their production of the Nutcracker. Yes, very good.

Yeah, go check that the kids are yet you, so don't think you're going to bring culture.

The kids the kids don't want to go with the kids at home that daddy know that they're not ready for that. Just leave the kids at home. You are a good Cuban sandwich while the West Tampa sandwich shop open from 6 AM to 3 PM all it is practiced in sandwiches and Cubans is are there go to. I Was notorious for having great. Yes. Also, palliative practice is okay like variant six that you have a Cuban breakfast breakfast version of a Cuban sandwich. I'm sure breakfast, find a place here in Raleigh is great you. I know I should break even sandwich pot whenever we touch on New Orleans whenever we visit there.

The butcher violence that was down there the final four and test. Absolutely. I had a try to remember the place I was at had a muffled letter. There have want to know since I have traditional New Orleans sandwich. He thing to me it was more of a giant hunk of red for that with like all sorts of marinated cured meat, salami and things like that go on on top of it on very good but very a lot and a lot of red, a lot of cured meats also stuck together all gathering where can I have this all good point anymore of this is much better than much more worth it in the bin.

Yeah okay which is just a funnel cake people… But is very very good coffee's transient Café New Orleans volunteering Tampa right check out Nicole's doughnuts where there is one hand making doughnuts for three decades.

I cannot quite know from the first doughnut shop.

We did all Jack Frost 37 Gavin Cleveland, three decades is like 21 years looking a lot of really good once over in St. Pete's and some other point on Pete Tampa, St. Pete, you think it's the same area there for 40 minutes away.it's worse.

I know worse. Not to mention the fact that Tampa and St. Peter separated by a freaking body of water. Yeah when I went to the final 499. It was in St. Pete was in St. Petersburg. That's where that's know it was in the recent where is Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, right, that's where that's where the final four was played. Everybody stayed in Tampa. It took forever for ever. My I might have it flip. I'm pretty sure the right thing to sit. Tropicana Field is insane. It just works by way of Raymond James Stadium is actually in yes it is, as is discussed.

This was not even called Emily arena where the lightning yeah Emily arena box right but it's also in Tampa. I went to an ACC tournament in Tampa men's basketball turned okay, which was unfortunately for a lot of people sort of tournament because it one like the city really embraced, but it was a very good basketball tournament in Brooklyn exactly right but the area that was in, which is now built up a lot more than it was then a very cool sound side area with restaurants and bars, looking out over the water spot. I like to I go back to camp my mind day and get done.

Nicole's doughnuts hard rock hotel casino in Atlantic City, Biloxi, Bristol Virginia yeah Cincinnati Daytona Beach let Lake Tahoe.

That's nice, New York. That's a five star northern Indiana. We don't even have a city which is in Indiana's control the whole state South Bend Gary Illinois all day exactly I have nothing else nothing else that Your Honor I tomorrow redoing Jacksonville, but to tease Wednesday. They pull out of my Dunkin' Donuts coffee only thing it's good for the next since we have that on Wednesday we will have the Cargill's Phoenix Jacksonville to Glendale, Glendale, quite, and for the claim going to Glendale which I have stories and stories about Glendale.

All right for me.

Sort of. June 19, 2000 May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford is coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became presented by the Carolina listen weeks ago we were talking about Lee high school where I graduated high school class of 1984 somebody who is far younger than I Steve Colletti with NJ.com, the old Newark Star-Ledger editing of the so-called Star-Ledger. I think he also graduated from Nutley high school, but after I did because he's younger, graduated with your brother Steve how you doing I'm doing so is I'm glad I'm glad we can have discussions about. Did they put luxury boxes in the oval yet or not but that's another story for another time. You had the. The occasion to head out to Bedminster, New Jersey, the, the nice little enclave in Somerset County to cover the live golf event.

I am curious. I read your story about Phil Mickelson getting heckled on Friday. I am curious your experience added Bedminster over your thoughts on what you saw what you like so much attention so much good or bad.

Controversy still is about the thing that I thought their curiosity and kill other people there. I was wrong. You know only a few thousand people.

You just read a few thousand people across the 500 acre golf course which which Trump Bedminster is a name you know there was a lot of holes where it felt like you're watching one line only treat women better than the lookout sponsored play music. It was a lot you know, for the most part we get away from Dustin Johnson Chevelle Brooks Kappa. I mean there a lot of nobodies out there playing golf that I mean I got couldn't identify.

You put them back out.

I doubt most casual fans really couldn't so I get the sense that there's a lot of a lot of noise and certainly did not live up to its height that it was some new edgy thing that was changed. Steve Colletti from NJ.com is joining us here on the gold so that's the thing that has gotten me about this and I don't know how much of this part of the story you have followed covered even leading up to the event and it Bedminster but there seems to be this perception that because we recognize maybe two thirds of the field, even there's clearly a lot of guys that nobody has any idea who they are, but because we recognize some names from our past like Henrik Stenson to happen when this week or Sergio Garcia. These guys haven't really been good players.

Really good players on tour for a few years now that the tour is actually better than it is but for the most part, like even the younger players have either don't have name recognition or there there for a reason like Has been heard in shambles been heard or Matthew Wolf hasn't played well in three years. Things like that you know they signed him for 40 million. I'm committed to the headline that he had relinquished his European team One 2000 2018-year-old and 46 results yet the end of his career and also get the payday in our questions for today and ultimately to caching $4 million, one that is great but it certainly was not. It's not a great field and some of the Mickelson Play deep and terrible things started. I watched him play know for a few holes on Friday the first round and immediately looked disinterested at best.

We can describe it Republic couple greens where we have great opportunities you know and you wonder right so early 50s now clearly on the time when you stop being competitive in the PGA Tour. If you are paying him 200 million were valid is just for his name to be on the on the leaderboard because he would not affect what I think you might have even written about this.

I'm not even sure still is having fun doing this I mean I know he's in his element when he's around fans, so there are clearly fans there in spite of the guy who heckled Phil doing for the Saudi royal family, which I'm sorry I left, but it's a great line and the whole thing was set up as I saw the video and I think you 12 you actually tweeted out the videos I sought was for four people wondering who did that.

It was this guy, but he doesn't seem to be really enjoying himself. Except when the checks clear right yeah and the conflict to the guy when he came to our neck of the woods. New York really adopted him as its own. He won the second major time at both the scroll of famous New Jersey golf course gallery to Bethpage when they had major damage really like it was the yellow native San Diego and he was our guy up here and the crowd of heckling aside was very positive fulfill but it was just not the same level gallery to me.

There is no excuse there's no pause. Probably a couple hundred people following him, whereas he played PG regular PGA Tour event keep you cannot have people gallery up despite deep you know around him that this wasn't the case.

I think he's got a know you got inside the plane for intermediate events made me to keep it moving. Talk about that, trying to get people to stop about team cliques persisting crushers versus before he filling what the tribe to make this look different in touring the overall I don't agree with you totally that these really want to follow. He does have a pretty mean, that's a pretty fly high flyers hat and he is at the very first press conference.

He sort of mocked the long history of the high flyers so he still showing a little sincere, but I just I get the sense that he looked like he was, and really enjoying himself and final final area of this I'm just curious because I wasn't there, and you spent time out there this week. This became more so this week, for obvious reasons than it had been although I think their social media. There is deftly a political element, but this became a political I'm writing this golf ball. This became a political golf ball this week for obvious reference.

It was a mag around without thereunder: his night in the clubhouse with Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Pellegrini the elect. Let's go Brandon Chancellor for film film. The course because Dave earlier you know families of the 9/11 victims, who believe that Saudi Arabia had had update you financially backing the hijackers who killed their loved ones. I had a very emotional press conference just 2 miles from the course and you know why I just wonder the juxtaposition of that and then seeing people celebrating note Trump and having it this course and and if another one of his examples of things that people overlook to support the cause and we became it Republic sorry to seem like you would be certainly accurate live up here in your euros New Jersey person what happened on 9/11 would want to distance yourself from even people are involved in it, but yeah, that wasn't the case on Sunday. Over the weekend and you're right, it was like a minor minor political rally out. It was that's really me for all the people who want us to separate the two sports and politics were Lebron James Canterbury but wanted to know they don't care wanted to let go grab a cup that that's a very good point absolutely okay. I'm okay with the blurring of the lines. I just think that you can't separate the two would real quickly.

Bill Russell passed away yesterday and there's there's the blurring of the lines with somebody who is an activist during his playing days. Jim Brown, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar month like there's always been a sports reporter like me and we can separate everything absolutely tonight, and I wake up in the wafer for 100 years of question bright lights of Nutley high school so you it's Martha Stewart, and it might be mean your brother got it point out the fact that I went to the same high school as Martha Stewart real real quick. As we wrap this up. I mean that I don't I don't we don't have to like everything that athletes or sports figures say think whatever support but to to do the stick to sports crap really means. You simply don't like what they said all means so I support you.

Whatever the stance is I support your right to be citizen and that's all these people are real quick about the golf tournament. I could be wrong here. I do not believe you can be pro-both tours been talking about this on Twitter with some people.

I don't believe there is this there is a situation where you pro PGA Tour pro live man. You're not because those two entities cannot coexist together. I can't not in the same continent they can't and so if you're not saying you can't be pro live that is your right and that's fine but if you are pro live then you are anti-PGA Tour. I just I just don't see that sort like being a Duke and Carolina for no you pick a side and if your pro live decide this is the gold shell June 19, 2000 May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak.

Figuring it out on the fly became the fifth anniversary of the Carolina listen
