It's yours. Rocket mortgage can help you get there from on solutions that fit your life rock dictate and I was all over this man thigh tail.Q series. I was in it briefly, and like a 15 second appearance interviewing the anti-tail. But what I meant by it was all over it was. I was glued to the two-hour dock you series in two different episodes. I watched it back to back, and I thought it was fascinating.

My quick take away as Michael Junior's go to join us to expand more on the dock you series coming up at 8:20 PM Eastern is for the last 10 years. I said how dumb can anti-tail be the star linebacker Notre Dame one of the star players in college football, a finalist for the Heisman.

You can get any girl in the country that you want it just on your campus and you dated someone that you never met an there's still part of me that goes.

How do you become so emotionally connected to someone that you've never met. However, after I watch the dock you series.

I do have sympathy for man thigh tail because will not and I don't want to spoil the rest of the dock you series for people. I watch a lot of this public information.

The elaborate scheme here. It's crazy like I understand when I grew is now transition to becoming a woman in a transgender use this account with a cocoon to be who she wanted to be by. With that being said, like you take it to level and develop a relationship with someone online where you come up with the story of she was in a car crash and you call a man thigh Teo and she's heavily breathing in and you make grants. I think that the conversation that they were having started to help heal her emotionally and mentally is very emotional, spiritual person, is the word I'm looking for. And then you get to the whole leukemia part and you say she died. That's I understand if you want to find yourself and be someone that's fine and more power to you but to go to those levels and that extreme is really messed up and there's no part of that goes. Matt, how do you follow that your man thigh Teo, but after watching it and watching the stock you series and even when Dr. Phil comes in every day to be with with Oneida and that's one of the craziest bar doctors the entrance of Dr. Phil.

It is electric when Dr. Phil makes his entry to the doctors but he said he talked to someone that when they were zero.

The voicemails that release they said it was a good one in a million chance that I could actually be Oneida and then they put lanai in a booth in him to the voice and it does sound as if that if that was all they could go out there that would be like to go just wild while to relive that 10 years later, crazy, and I was cover the Heisman Trophy. I remember I had five or six questions sitting right next to mid thigh Teo and he found that two days before hand that something was up and he went to the Heisman Trophy presentation went to the national championship game noted got smacked by Alabama enter the Deadspin article dropped shortly after that and I do feel I have sympathy for man thigh tail when you watch the dock series in the part of me goes how you fall for this, but it was such an elaborate hoax is that guilt show on CBS portrait as we'll talk more about that Michael Junior coming up 15 minutes from now, but without further to look at the big stories of day was some audio. It is called news brief daily news brief: open ports and compasses in sports. Alex looking forward to moving forward in my career been able to get back on the field as soon as possible, but this does the plan is to continue to grow as a person's individual keeper support and to Sean Watson on why the I thought that if LPA settled on 11 games person must sure that was the legal side of the PA did my main focus was to come here Asian everyday to make clear that he knows why you want to get back on the field this season and this is the number of why they came to an agreement to you want this to be the current season, but I read the need to have at least six games under your belt. It is a bizarre number of 11. The first game back is up against the Houston Texans Sean Watson Wyatt took until August 12 issue is first apology. I apologize beforehand, I think the second time I spoke to see if I was just but I think for some people it didn't register as a as I was apologizing for the Cliff knows apologize all women but I was offended about the situation is definitely a tough situation that's baloney you apologize because in the 11th hour, you realize okay this is to go your way and you want to salvage a seasonal lease get on the field so that's what you apologize last week your camp, from the start I said you did nothing wrong and you are innocent and you showed no remorse and then you did so just you could meet a settlement because the NFL would've never settled with you if you did an issue that apology last week and then shortly after that will get the sum of this audio in the bed.

He basically walked back that apology. So let's get to the Sean Watson on why he apologize if he believes he didn't do anything wrong for everyone.

That was about the situation there was a lot of people I was treated as all so anybody that was affected even yourself everything so apologize. Everyone that was affected about this whole situation to keep.

I don't get what he means by that.

A lot of people were triggered by things that do have any explanation makes no sense to me know know a lot of people are upset and rightfully so because what he was accused of his disgusting and you're angry if you hear exits like no one should be treated like this are known to be acting like this to apologize for being triggered doesn't make much sense. The only way I could think, the way he meant. That is what he was accused of.

It could bring back thoughts to people that have actually gone through sexual assault. But he says he did nothing wrong here, so that's the only way I could think about it, but then what are you apologizing for if you did nothing wrong, you clearly feel bad about something, apologizing for something or you just had to say you were sorry or the NFL wouldn't actually settle with you the Sean Watson reiterates that despite settling is the limited always stood my missus always said that I've never assaulted anyone at this is one of them contains the same time of the continue to push for my life. My career for us to be able to move forward.

You have to be able to take steps in for private suicide will continue to stand my innocence and keeper support the Sean Watson and if he is competent but no other users will come forward Sean Watson says the truth about what really happened will come out one process must be stored.

People with will only sound so as the person I am, have always been. I was raised to show that to push for get about that is, he says he's been telling his story and one day the truth will come out and you'll see what he saying why can you do that right now. Why can't you find a way to make me believe you right now like I don't think he has any evidence or anything like that. Like how do you prove that you didn't do this Jimmy Haslam says the team is currently supported the Sean Watson since day one sister Sean came into our building in April is doing everything we've asked of him and his friend the person the leader that we expected think she understands where he is in his lifeare going to do everything we can help them not only the best football player to be the best person was full of crap $30 million guaranteed. Of course, to support it when you given that much money and only that Brian is that everything that we, what is there really been to do not commit possibly any further like Break now this is finally where Jimmy Haslam actually showed some honesty. He reminds everyone that the Sean Watson is a really good quarterback Sean is 26 years old okay is a high level in and bingo. That's why you did this move. If you're not in jail.

If you're not criminally charge you guys is 26 years old. If I don't give an opportunity. Someone else will.

Because he is a really good quarterback start with the Browns. I probably can't do this, but I would respect the more we can trust the Sean Watson but if he thought the plan right now is after 11 games to be allowed to apply something quarterback in this league we thought he was an upgrade to our football team. I respect you more if you just said that Jimmy Haslam is empathetic that Sean Watson deserves a second chance in this country and hopefully in the world. People deserve second chances.

Okay, I really think that Strobel is never supposed, never supposed to be part of society no chance to rehabilitate himself and okay you can say will that's because if you Joe Smith would be in the only everyday so deserve a second chance we get.

Bring second chance okay okay were hoping this will work out. We have strong belief, it will doesn't mean we don't have people affected so we strongly believe strongly believe service second chance.

Sean Watson is a second chance. If you actually show remorse and will give you strong conviction that nothing else will happen in the future. That would be my follow-up, Jimmy Haslam and her berries asked if he would still trip at the Sean Watson today given the multiple allegations that surfaced after the Watson trade was made.

This time, that process was. We felt like we made an informed decision understand why others may not make the same decision that we did but we do believe that Sean has strong positive and you think that everything is hard to integrate himself with our team.

Everything that we follow about being a really good quarterback. One of those other strong positive qualities right now. Enter that would be my follow-up to ensure better now the big question becomes what gets the football. He's out for 11 games will be preset to me is not a really good starting quarterback in this league we go get Jimmy grappler Andrew Berry makes it clear that Jacoby process their guy for the next 11 games. There is spring summer confidence in him than any other position on the Ross will continue with our team can and then I was also let's get into more GBG discussion will give it to insiders here.

This is Jonathan Jones and by the way, I think the Browns should trade for GBG. I don't think they will, though. But this is Jonathan Jones from CBSSports HQ on if the Browns will trade for Jimmy grappler tray for his salary-cap number was around $24 million was waiting on the census for 49ers to ultimately cut Jimmy Ruffalo and then there can be a source feeding frenzy on corruptible Browns interested done their homework.

No question about they will continue to monitor it and it obviously depends on the player.

Jacoby preset thing now. The longer you wait, and even if you now like what's it going to the season without human wait for Jacoby preset to fail. This isn't just a running back or wide receiver read Psalm I hear few place could run hear few routes just run these routes. Quarterback is delete the entire offense that's I'd be more proactive than reactive over already passed that point yesterday when I was in for Maggie and prophet Ian Rappaport on an rap sheet when I said isn't GBG a better option than Jacoby preset. He had this to say one no you know that mom and aunt wanted to talk about something question because GBG gives them a better chance to win this year than Jacoby preset right. I don't know dollars no equal in the don't know the one from one extreme to go everywhere and keeps on saying that it's not to be Jimmy G the trade even though they have the Space. It's not cost a whole lot in terms of draft capital to go get Jimmy grappler yes will agree to disagree. Second option CBSSports radio talk about this meant I tell you Doc you series on Netflix with former teammate of Manti Teo Michael Junior next was that culture returns in five minutes listening to the second show. Really enjoyed the Manti Teo Doc you series on Netflix. Definitely worth the two hour investment of your time in one of the craziest stories I've ever seen. I'm not just saying that that I really enjoyed the doc you series because I somehow got it. It for about 10 seconds.

I was at the Heisman media availability when Manti Teo was a finalist asked him a question about his girlfriend, which never existed, but at the time we didn't know that so it's not just because I like you because you'll see me. It is just riveting and now joining us on the hotline and Zach yelled show on CBSSports radio is the podcast hose of the go Joe show via draft kings and a former teammate of anti-Teo and Michael Junior Mike bridging time I been doing well and you're not alone. I got an interesting phenomenon. It's sort of like the people That you got. I could look myself in the background. The Deadspin article dropped because I was sitting next to man time when he was doing his Heisman media availability. A friend of mine when the dense canonical job center in the article I go how the heck am I in the article have no part of the story that I got about a picture dropped 10 years ago because I said I know part of this scheme, you know, this is one of the more wild stories never seen you live through it when you guys saw him behind in the national championship game, thought his girlfriend existed and unfortunately she passed away because of leukemia.

What you remember about the day when you found out the girl for never existed, so that documentary about school all directly playing in what would then be ready, nobody will know your post.

All parking all you/writable and help you all couple level ground and that's what we were playing with America. We were riding back to practice in all notification. What had gone down with our new friend from the big work to kind with the comment they direct about the girl that we thought maybe were real or not So it will work for that week. I was so close to me and I and I'm not sure that that even had any inkling of what it becoming so all by surprise.

Like you mentioned. That was something that happened at the beginning of the word and of itself. For all of us. We average 504 years of Notre Dame all dealing with for the first time everything that comes with waiting at the level that we want.

We that was something that certainly was a big story because of how mad my plate but all about. It was something that maybe got lost in the play along the way because we were so pathetic to work but we were also struggling so much more than we used to think the part about this story that a lot of people forget is his grandmother died also and that's been a 24 hours. Then when you say oh we had a girlfriend but you know no longer.

You never existed. She also.everyone really focused on the girlfriend inside the locker got so much national attention.

People were inspired. I was able to play through it we thought was to death was like a rallying cry like a rallying call your locker room to really going games but go try to help man tie out is as he's on the field so I gotta go get 100%. It was a rallying cry. I think it will dictate what you practice what you come up with huddle again. We were all super what you'd gone through any wall because most did not know girlfriend you know and what we do also like your grandmother. We had plenty of guys would walk over relatives like that always heartbreaking specially for mankind where he comes from beginning of the culture around the we do that with your form so obviously felt super sympathetic what it was one of those things where it was especially that we can make sure we hold our guy up and practice dealing with the new women go from there. Michael Junior here with for the last 10 years I always said this year at Notre Dame. You could probably get with any girl that you want to have a relationship, how you fall for an online relationship in develop this relationship with someone that you've never even met. But after watching the doc you series to see this plan by Minaya and how elaborate it was.

Yes, there still part of me that goes. How do you fall for this, but this was so elaborate, it makes me have a lot of sympathy from anti-Teo got all four men were like that really bothered being online on social media apps so well dealing with that for the first time in earlier we had grown up with that the way to generate documentary laid out like it was also pretty appropriate where he came from to where he was from Hawaii to stop culture change everything there was different form and then you have the same that goes along with being a star player almost as soon as you step on campus.

One of the big brand programs in the country and so he has all of that going on and this person present themselves for a while during your add something familiar. Someone familiar with you. Called up the things you would use to reportedly do the people that you and so you create a comfort. Even if it's from someone who was so old you could definitely see how yelp course that could happen especially when the stakes are low because that that around you and even when he found out that she died and then they call and say she's actually still alive after this is because the become such a public story, and he goes okay I need a few things in a picture to prove that you're actually alive and how they actually got the photo the person that they thought at the time was when they could cooler through that really like that was wild when they revealed that photo.

July 2 half of the documentary I will got it went down like that you're right. The level that was before the show Based on MTV you really understand that level.

So it was a major learning experience and you.

They are built with somebody at the end of it.

It's a reminder and you saw how emotional I was talking about his treatment after that and we saw a lot of clips from back then both be larger media because the story had always been bigger than football as well as the media who I got the clip where they're saying gay by me something that documentary horrifically okay but it was just point about how everyone really started to treat the person at the center of this like they were anything but a person and I think so often, especially in we got different between all the players off the players who make up the product of fuel that we kind of forget to treat them with basic human decency. When things hit the fan. You kinda got you a little bit of the result here and a large part of what mankind probably wanted no matter how good you would've granted the well could've been in the NFL.

It was never going to erase the word association between interview And it's also crazy to and obviously I didn't live it. You think that this person existed and then they pass away, and you go to that grieving process and you find out that it was a hoax and she never actually existed, and you find that out. And yes, he's at Notre Dame and we all know the tension that comes with that, but he knew that something was up during the Heisman availability where I'm asking about his girlfriend that passed away the national championship game, even a holy doctor that you week span where knowing what I'm saying isn't true. I couldn't fathom what it was like we were also good with that little bit never really had an inkling that something was wrong that we could get ready to play at that point will also go more than one party watching the anti-ceremony that will think about how wild that whole journey never knowing what you were carrying in that moment during the lead up because man you want to talk about knowing your navigating 40 days between the last game of BCF title for the first time dictate the company knew well the playbook for how to handle that what you think the girl about bad stood out to you from the doc you series because you live through it. You know, I'm sure a lot of this reminds you and makes you think about things differently.

Since it's been 10 years. So what else are your interpretations from this really hit hard work number one like my 21 years old and people walk all the spirit.

About one year on it. I will always pointed out like. He was gullible. 21 and the situation. Think about all the things you had to predict in order yeah right number one having the predicament Notre Dame was going to go thousand 12 that before the season and I'll pay hundred block that All-Pro linebacker web seven intercepted year because outside of Johnny Mandel a call early chock-full of quarterback that it had not all things became together over the course of that year, and oh by the way number two apparently did not feel the need to do the simple googling that I claim to talk about being a fighter basically just type into Google like that was another thing that Corley was worked on background checking by people, and then happily warning with the story absolute numbers that we will be going to target everything that we normally see Drive hero building payrolls in college football. No one felt the need to look beyond that, I only like to also take a walk look at everybody and every media outlet that covered the story without turning a discerning eye toward especially with the Internet, obviously peeing around then it's a simple Google search to find an obituary hard to find that she actually went to Stanford I get it. It's a story and it's like an emotional source. You just tend to believe that using multiple stories were just the actual death of the grandma diapers the girlfriend died for us all be out of sync and all these different articles. It's crazy that no one knew that I think about it, I point out like you got that huge gap between the last game of the national championship winner. Once we get the first couple weeks of bowl season early and be able to story you think someone might've gone out and said you know what it be interesting to talk to when they family about what this season that in the wake of tragedy, walking her daughter's boyfriend go out perform to the level yeah name in the conversation and I'm thinking from the base level like we normally happen in similar situation. For some reason the spot allowed this façade continue to go on for as long as it did. Did you ever talk to McIntyre about this. Assuming no right now. I never had a chance to that point after the season. We had all gone myself so that I am here bored. I was out of those in Arizona and go from there, where I was also a kickback that early on it you would someone like you to live up to that ballplayer moniker and five years ago to game on Notre Dame sideline and feeling. I was talking to a guy who had come through that come out of the other side a very humble guy. Because of that, maybe a little bit more settled into one after all that I know we got a family now and a lot of those other might balance that with time, but another time when I was pregnant I was very young man going through situation that very few could have predicted or handle that and I think that's always just try to stand out from the majority of my apathy comes with the situation.

I didn't even think about this, Michael Junior to just set it because now he has wife wife and he has kids and what it was like to actually date someone when you were trying to get through all this stuff and find someone because everyone knows like you were the guy that fell think girlfriend. Very few can put ourselves in because what it becoming with Dr. What it would it would roll when they talked about the company that mankind was most hated athlete. It was for me it was a scarlet letter that he was wary for a long time so yeah I'm getting back to work you will and you talk about a little bit you professional help in going through therapy because then let alone from another person. Looking at the situation, wondering what kind of person. It's kind of crazy because they had that part of the doc you series where he was one of the three most hated athletes and some pole, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong and him hated was just one of the scenarios are as like this is happening. Yeah like you make it your low hanging fruit jokes about that was one of the things that I cannot believe it was an article that insinuated my understanding of my recollection baselessly that you buy. On one of those things we look at people happening here while you guys were kind of a celebrated documentary that was really harmful and really toxic.

I don't think that one with a lot of basis. All of a sudden become a little bit of tender that you can spark and now close the fire people putting this point.

How did this happen to you.

I know there were bad, Michael Junior, so your dad obviously a radio legend. Obviously, alleging that Notre Dame he's Houston radio shows in this thing goes down, you played for the team.

What were your guises conversation like you know a lot of it I made it weird again and all season long. So many of our families met with the cool part of that had all taken to go for guys like me to work my last year with every home."

They were there all along the way so all the rallies where everyone wearing the way the cloud and how much that over the go notebook that had been on the other side will you know what will my family back now to quit back in and remembers what this was something that had grown from such a small not a small thing, but grown from such a unique circumstance, the beginning of the year and I will bowl a bit of calling God a thing like yeah you II Bobby doesn't really know much as I was with really sure what we will Michael Junior does a great job that you check about the dojo show podcasts via drafting styles about the new venture that I know I will be sorry in Las Vegas at the draft you just get ready to launch a has been going great deal would be really excited that I can't try and pick up a new blog radio work I've done.

I've never podcasts getting to do that with someone who was also a teammate with that Notre Dame back then my buddy Brandon goes around sports media for long time. It's been a black man. We are part of the football season right now. Walcott covered back out of the world, you'll radio during college football games this fall and working to be taken people behind the curtain every step away.

That's fantastic. Good luck. Really appreciate you joining us today for a few minutes listening to the sex show writing it is that guild show on CBS sports radio so were talking of this meant I tell Doc you series of Michael Junior techie you have one point before you start to become Mr. Penn State were Mr. Notre Dame and for a while, you double dipped with both football teams you remember and what was your initial reaction.

The day that Deadspin article did come out because this is one of them will always be one of the craziest sports stories that you'll ever see, like at the time if you had told me that that this was good happen. What the heck are you talking about that there's no chance of this happening because that Notre Dame he's a star linebacker get sick of any girl be quantum Notre Dame camper campus probably. And yet a fake girl for an online relationship and the girl never existed, even though now I have a lot of sympathy for him. After watching the doc you series because this was one elaborate hoax. I yeah I guess other shocking I don't know if there's an adjective that's even more exaggerated in shock but it was just like this can't be real. Like the city linebacker Notre Dame international star as like he really was dating someone online. This whole time. They just go back like the time I didn't know what Fishing was back in 2012, 2012, but still even now like you if you if you're on a dating application like hinge or whatever your dating application is of choice. You start the relationship online and you start talking online, but eventually you say what's your number.

Let's meet up let's go have drinks. Let's go get dinner let's go do some activity and then you meet the person it's crazy and it shows how good of a person meant that Taylor is that he was able to care for someone so much of the moment he hears in a car crash or as the keep me you never met this person you just bolted and said to him at Notre Dame that only need this person, but he actually care for this person who in reality was a guy who had trouble finding his own sexuality and now is transitioning to becoming a girl and this was away for one night you to find the only safe place so he could be louche.

She wanted to be witches. It's when you watch this, it totally makes sense now, and I'm not saying I totally say oh wow like I can understand why falls are a part of me does say I could see a little bit about this and I do have a lot more sympathy from anti-tile wearing was a punchline for last 10 years because he was the guy told everyone. His girlfriend died and then she never existed and still part of me goes behind your back was relationship online by this was one crazy crazy hoax. I really in terms of crimes in terms of things like nonviolent things like that. You just look at from this story. It's one of the craziest sports stories I've ever seen.

There's a guy Notre Dame actually be good to great the national champions again but have a linebacker have all those interceptions that you be a finalist for the Heisman. And by the way, and 20 browses Bramhall actually died you die and then his girlfriend is going to die to the girlfriend and when he supplies Isley finds out how actually may not have existed in Hollywood. They would think wow what a great movie script movie script may be compelling to actually watch but that was actually Ryan and I know like I say we live through because we like all were captivated, wasn't like a great story at the time like the perseverance and right when I had a chance to talk to the Heisman man time series you want your girlfriend and your grandmother in 24 hours and you never took any time off your how did you persevere you fight through this and be resent show plenty of inspirational feel-good source I college gained a but sometimes players ever heard of her school. She never you know really what it's like Notre Dame football the face of Notre Dame football in her band of fetid Texas is back to the US back Notre Dame was that year and they had a big game that week. That was what you see your wasn't emotionally involved. Just because like they are so relevant it's like it was still is not true. Girlfriend are just yet.

While I imagine when when he finds out that this girl doesn't exist or may not exist or may not be dead. And then he asked for a photo of her in the photo actually comes back in its it's who he thought was when a cuckoo and down the road he finds out all it was a hoax and when I have called him when she finds out there's got to be that Deadspin article goes, I just want to apologize for things like thinking it was the cousin of when a cuckoo and it was apologize for what any good. I just want to say I'm sorry because when I knew what was coming around the corner publicly. Let's go to Dave in Queens, New York. Next up on CBS sports writer Dave go ahead." Don't think you will you like your father. I am a fan of gold you know final goal Junior that was the actual you yeah I love you Terry, you maybe he'll go to when I showed them about calling yes yes Terry Collins was a great dump because he was cursing, but it was awesome. I was on hold. I think I got you good, but on thank you all think tonight about Dan is I like forgetting what happened. I mean even I just wish that back then use this platform of him like national played here in the Notre Dame I know what fish to teach the young kid back then and even the future generation that you cannot trust online things like probably 97 to 98. Think you can truck over. Talk about strangers like I was always taught you don't tell people you visit another whole generation now the world is but I thought his platform. You and it wasn't like I think it didn't learn much in the brakes and so I apologize again. Let's just have a hard out here at the time there was really no way that he could use this platform for good because he was so embarrassed that he was in a national punchline. Then, at the time you heard of Fishing back that and that was the thing I think now 10 years removed. We have sympathy like David just said and thanks for the phone call good Dave, good phone call and appreciate you listening but now it's a gift simply because you go okay so this really makes sense that you could fall for that and there's some good some bad.

The comes of the Internet. He did fall 40 did have a genuine caring for the person just never existed, but to see afterwards a mental start like the deal at that and how the first years when the NFL you just be no man my heart part of it did break from anti-tile during the ducky series last night Arnold joins next
