Welcome to the blessed life. Why did God give the giving because man did not want state to God did not create giving something to be graded. Giving your giving more than any other activity that a believer does work, selfishness and greed out of our lives really a new series called the blessed life and I want you to understand that this is my life message because it's it's been in my heart for years and saw Debbie not been living and I've been preaching and teaching for years, blessed life.

Now the book millions of copies.

I've been told thirtysomething languages around the world. Given all the royalties away to this book and so it's been just God uses it all over the world. Here's the reason because truth in this book that will change your life.

I promise you will change your marriage and change your family and change your health and change relationships and change your job if change your life. It's a blessed life non-blessed pocketbook or blessed while it's a blessed life and so I want you turn you can really dictate passages this time.

Matthew seven and Luke six here's the reason because I'm going to read a passage in Matthew seven and around flipped the loop six quickly so we can read the parallel passage so look here in Matthew chapter 7 verses one to it says judge not that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. Now I just want to ask you a simple question, is the word money anywhere in those two verses no and and the contact is judging. Don't judge, you will be judged okay now wants to commit to short-term memory. The first phrase in the last rites and I like you just say it after me, judge not, you will not be judged, and with the measure you use will be measured back to you say that applicable in six okay now let's say one more time. Judge not, you will not be judged with the measure you use, it will be measured back to look at the first sentence of verse 37 Luke 637 judge not, and you will not be judged. Now you might say I'm sorry thank thank you thank you thank you and then look at the last sentence of verse 38 for with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you, you understand this is the parallel passage, but I will show you verse in the middle, in my opinion. Many times the context is not understood caseloads. Luke six 3738 judge not, and you shall not be judged convenient not and you shall not be condemned for Gaia and you will be forgiven. Ellie verse 38 did have any will be given to you good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be putting your bosom. For the same measure used to be measured back to you. Now we just make a statement is not shocking. The word money does not appear in those verses and yet most of the time when we hear Luke 638 we think about money is modified when we think about the word idea. We think money I was being interviewed by magazine a while back tonight. I said how often you preshow giving and I said every week they said you preach, giving every week. I said yes.

I think what you meant to ask me was how often got preshow giving money and that's about every three years every three years.

I do a series on stewardship and generosity unit asked me how significant giving money asked me how often you preshow giving I can't preshow grace… Giving because God's love the world be I can't preshow marriage cannot preshow giving because a marriage will not work if you're not givers.

In both people are givers and again, not finances, not giving the younger sensei that this this applies to every area of our life.

So we have to understand giving is about the heart. Here's the time of the message I should give it to you earlier, but the title is. It's all about the heart is all about the heart. Jesus said where your treasure is, there your heart will be. Some people say well you know thereafter my money let me explain something.

Yes, God is after you're not the church. God is after money because he got your heart, your heart follows your treasure you put your treasure in the stock you put some money in the stock will start going on the Internet checking to see how that stops doing you never checked it before and you never cared about them for you care about it now is your treasure is, there development you want your treasure in the kingdom.

But you want your heart. Looking at your treasure okay so it's a hard issue because he's talking in these verses about judgment, condemnation, and forgiveness.

Don't judge, you will be judged. Don't condemn you don't and that he says forgiven you leave your nieces what to say no give judgment and judgment will be given back to you. And here's the part I don't hear a lot of preaching good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will me and give judgment back to you.

For with the same measure you give judgment you get judgment back. That's the context of these verses judgment, condemnation, and forgiveness. Now you can apply to other areas because of the laws of sowing and reaping.

If you give a C. You don't just get back 1C get back a tree are plant with many things and that's the way God is so whatever you give to get more back so would be better to give good things than bad things that you're going to get more of it that whatever this I was counseling with a lady one time and she was a single mother and family were to leave her kids and so she brought her kids and we just let I said please come anyway and she just left them with the my assistant.

We left the door open.

There and I was talking to her in here glitter this what she said. She said Mike Mike to yell at me. She said they yell at me. I don't want anything she did best. There I don't want to yell at me and said, Luke 638 give yelling and yelling will be given back to you good measure, pressed okay. I have how you going to develop a heart generosity all way back. Deuteronomy 15 God tells us what we need to do for things we need to do because it's all about the heart. Alright, so Deuteronomy 15, verses seven and eight if there is among you, a poor man of your brethren within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving notice God's giving you the land by like notice or giving. You shall not harden your heart so that your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly, that would be about your heart lien him sufficient for his need what ever he needs. Okay, so therefore things that we need to do it for to become generous givers. Here's number one deal with a selfish heart deal with a selfish heart.

Look at verse nine. Deuteronomy 50 verse nine beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart. Notice heart again saying the seventh year, the year releases that handing your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing any crowd to the Lord against you and you become CN among you notice selfishness is wickedness in God's eyes, and it becomes sin not. Here's what he saying he saying now when your brother comes and asked to borrow from you you you open your hand and willingly lending him you you you open your heart to him. But don't let there be this wicked or selfish starting unit says man.

This is the year of Jubilee means all debts will be canceled. In other words, he became and said hey I need to borrow some money. Mycroft are bad this year and and you thought you know what six more months is your Jubilee if he can pay me back in six months then then I have to cancel his death see God implemented an economic system where all debts were canceled every seven years.

How many of you would like to re-implement that economic system that so if you thought you know I'm not going to do this because he might not bill pay me back your God said don't do that.

Don't think that way and here's what he called because selfishness, wickedness he's dealing he's telling the people of Israel this I don't want you to do this I want you to be generous like I'm generous unless question as to Bible college class this one time. Why did God create giving never thought about that because God did it's it's it's all through God's work. So why did God in the or create giving do you really think what you think about this this money to make you really think that God needs your mind to support his work.

I mean it you know it is the light bill you know in heaven. No, too big for God. They run another goal for the streets.

I mean cattle on a thousand meal he's run out of Kauai me know what God needs you to listen. God did not create giving for his sake. He created giving for your sake, giving more than any other activity that a believer does work, selfishness and greed out of our lives. This is why I don't like much of the preaching. I hear him giving because it's a gift to get giving you get giving you get what that does it actually works selfishness and greed back in your life and what God feels went with when a preacher preach giving you get giving up yet and they will cite well I want to get some idea one of God's think it was great. All my people are catching the Revelation of getting know we need to catch the Revelation of giving. Now, I do want to say if drive selfishness out of our lives. We have to deal with selfish short you want to just say just for moment ladies that there is an area of selfishness that men never grow out of is what you know. Okay, we do not want to share our food and for some reason you won't our food and I don't I don't understand.

We do not want to share our food. The very first time. Pastor Tom and Jan Lane sitting on the front row dancing on the euro say this set right there very first time I went to dinner with them. I will go around table ordering. I ordered and Jan said oh good, I did want to try that.

I never met the woman and she wanted to eat on monthly and I said what you better order some because that's only when you think about what does every woman say when you're at the drive through. What is every woman say you say what would you like something not want to have some of your know you will buy you two orders of fries, but you're not getting any of my fries and the fries that fall in the bottom of the bag are mine. Support 1 is deal with a selfish heart I know that's directed just to the man or to all of us are. Here's number two deal with the grieving heart grieving based on my money somewhat giving burst in. You shall surely give taking MDF to him and your heart should not be greedy when you give to him because for this thing. Watch for this thing giving with the right heart, the Lord your God will bless you in all your works. That's amazing. And all to which you put your hand if you are to give from the heart with the right heart. God bless you and everything you did. That's what he just said see where we need to understand this is a part issue, but selfishness attacks us before we give a brief attacks us after we give never given a large amount or made a commitment and then something breaks and the enemy comes immediately say safety shipment in becomes an ending and brief, because when we get, you know, I'm setting here, here I am preaching this message and I had this thought this through my mind after 30 years of preaching, no to just let the thought go on Bob, here's a thought I had. I just thought myself.

I think I'm going out to eat after the service and and I don't I don't have any cash. I just had that thought just go through my mind and on just now hundred percent okay I will start saying those thoughts moral. Okay, now let's let's talk about that from them right.

Why when I said I don't have the cash. Why did David get up that fast and give it to the wife because I gave it to them before the service is $900 getting out. He's not grieving that he gave cousin why because it was mine safe single reason that we grieve after you give is because we thought it was hours in the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof.

So when we get back to God what is already his, and we know grieve over so the only graveyard here's number three.

Develop a generous heart develop a generous heart.

Look at verse 14. You shall supply him liberally generously from your flock. Watch for in your threshing floor and from your winepress. Now watch this from what the Lord has blessed you with. You shall give to him. God wants us to be generous. We were born selfish. We are born again generous. We just have to renew our minds. You think about it you really want to be generous that we we read Luke six mono if we were to go back and read the context unit back up a little more and when I don't do that right now, but you can do that you go back around verse 30. Here's what it says give that one to ask of you, and for mutation code giving this to an HSL context is Lee and its people even hold me not to receive anything in return.

What he's doing is dealing with the heart. It's the it's the first thing we have to try to teach our children when you think that what he had to try to teach your children that is so hard to teach her children share share know we share what happens. A little neighbor boy comes over to play and the neighbor work picks up a toy. What is your boy Dave drops the toys play with runs over and said that I was playing with that right neighbor boys okay so you go there and picks up the mess that you're more than the claim that directly elected. You realize what God is saying to all of his children.

When you going to grow up. When you grow up. When you go to become like your father. That's a love that he gave and I heard a story of mine son Josh and daughter-in-law Hannah told me a while back that two children Grady 27 and will of the sport and they got in the car.

Hannah picked them up from church and Willow said mommy did you know that there was a woman in the Bible that only had two panties and she gave both of them to God, and Hannah said yes that's that's a wonderful story and Willow said I want to give something to God. So Hannah said well pray and ask the Lord what he wants you to give and said he could see her. She closed her eyes. Hannah was watching the Marion OSHA). She did like this and she said what and then she said little baby little baby baby baby. You can have Betty they got my car.

Okay, that's cute. That's kids learning about giving at some point, you grow up some point you say or what you want me to give consent for the that's what I do so want to develop a generous heart.

Here's number four. Develop a grateful heart. Develop a grateful heart back in Deuteronomy 15. Look at verse 50. You shall remember that you are a slave in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God redeems you. Then he says this. Therefore I command you this thing today going same. I command you to be generous. I'm coming and you know on the authority that I'm commanding you, is that everything you have came from. You need to remind yourself every now and then your slaves you every now and then I get a reminder. I leaned over to John and the David right before I came up and told him because it happened to me yesterday.

I was hard going to sleep last night. I knew the enemy was trying to tighten to because the series was beginning. Debbie got an email from a friend of ours went to high school with and she said you know love the first conference watched on the Internet all instrument bring bad news, but we lost two more are class members. She made two guys. Both guys I did drugs with one of the guys I started on drugs and she one of the guys died from a drug overdose. Another guy committed suicide and lying there last night thinking thank you God for redeeming my life out of that for redeeming from that type of a lifestyle.

These guys now 35 years since high school and steel. What a horrible life and must've had for 35. Thank you. You know the Lord just reminds it's not hard for me to give you understand I can have anything. I was a slave you didn't have even no matter what you had. You didn't have. If you didn't have Christ a while back, pastor and his wife were. I had heard me share our testimony in giving and in this series I'll share our testimony giving by God's grace Debbie knife been able to give. Like many cars to people we were able to give our first home away. We've just been I would give very extravagantly. We love to do that and I shared that testimony, the church and went to dinner this pastor's wife and the wife said to Debbie, I have a question for you and and both the state question because we've heard it many times, she said, how did you feel when your husband said he wanted to give away your house and Debbie said I felt great. I felt great.

She said you have to remember that Robert and I were married before he got saved, and every time he's wanted to give something extravagantly. I think thank you thank you God for my new husband and then the pastor asked her question. She never been asked.

He said why do you think that Robert is so generous and I'm not trying to set myself up as an example, I know many many people. But he said what you think that he just has given so extravagantly wrecked retirement savings. All these things over the years. Why do you think the subject tear came on her cheek and she said because he's never gotten over getting saved. He's never forgot where he came from and he knows that everything we have can I know you feel the same way that I we never get over getting say, and because of that, your giver God's giving you a new heart and we want to get. Don't let the devil mess with your mind and tell you that you're not a I want to encourage you and the Holy Spirit leads you to give to your church or to missionary or to some person in need. Give as godly.
