The Foundation of Humility

Welcome to worship and the word pastor were in a series called the four living creatures, where Pastor Robert shares with four heavenly creatures in the Bible represent the body of Christ glide the church and our own lives. Today's message is about the face of the ox, which symbolizes humility and this is an incredible message.

So let's join pastor. So we're in a series called the four living creatures and the last week… The four foundations because he therefore creatures of each creature has four faces a man an ox ally an illegal and we talked last weekend about that. The man represents grace because Jesus is the Son of Man, and febrile grace and frequent defects.

So this we will talk about the face of the ox in the arts represent servant hood and humility. So the title of the message is the foundation of humility.

The foundation of humility. So I just want you to think about how God blesses those who walk in humility. One of my life versus God gave me this verse many many years ago I communicating tell you how long ago and I was at Wayne Grace Church. Many of you probably remember Wayne trainee comes every year for prophetic presbyteries is been doing that since the first year of the church and I've heard he had a prophetic gift and so they were praying over me before I spoke and Wayne said I have a word for events. Robert if that's okay. I said yes this is what he said. He says have not.

I give you a life verse that you only told your wife about, and memorization is pretty interesting is 31,103 versus in the Bible.

If he says the verse I will know this is a word from God and he said it's Micah 68 and here's the verse he has shown your man what is good and what does the Lord require of you but to be justly, to love mercy and walk humbly with your God on there was a word from God through waiting for me, but that verse to do justly, love mercy, to be a gracious and kind person to do what's right to be kind to be merciful in the walk humbly so were talking about humility, walking humbly right so here's the first point, the highest position. I'm going to tell you in the Bible.

What's the highest position in the Bible the highest quality that a person can achieve, or can walk you the highest quality. Now mostly gets an apostle, but the apostles themselves tell you what the highest position is Romans chapter 1 verse one Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle notice he says what is called to do what he tells us what he is is a servant.

Philippians 11 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus. James 11 James a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Second Peter 11 Simon Peter, a servant, and apostle of Jesus Christ, the highest position for believers is a server think that when Jesus came this earth. What he did is that income to be served.

I came to serve. Philippians 2 says he took upon himself the form of a servant. He became a servant at the highest position you have in the kingdom of God. The problem is that we get so concerned and so fixated on what our position is what our title is, or what we have or what were supposed to do or what were supposed to accomplish what we've done in the past only get very very fixated on what God called us to do. We want everybody nope hate this is my calling this what I'm called to be explained today what all of us are called to do well. Called to serve were all called to be servants I've had unknown of people that in workplaces have demanded certain types demanded I won a certain title tell you something really doesn't matter what my title is what I do some servant.

I go to serve people is what Jesus did. Who has the name above all names. He comes to serve. That's the title that Paul and Peter and James and Timothy. That's the title that they took upon themselves. Your identity is not in what you do sell your title it's in whose you are.

It's also not in what you own is an incredible scripture. If you ever see the Scripture I want you to meditate on it. Luke 12 verse 50 for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses. As Jesus one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses. So it consists in Jesus were going to be a little bit more and that is what we have some high school friends for before couples we went to high school Debbie Nye with two of the guys and two of the girls and now they all have spouses we get together every year we we were unable to last year because of Cobian or open weekend. This year we get together every year for an extended weekend and we just have fellowship and find all of the Lord are great folks when we started doing this, you gotta remember we knew two of the guys to the girls and with that high school with them. We knew some of the others, but a couple the spouses.

I did note so there's one of the guys there and so I said to him I just trying to get to know them. I said so what are you doing and he said I'm a trash man and I said, "be like another like a lot.

You need to understand that success in the kingdom is not how many people you can get under his family, people you can get over is how many people you can serve I'm I'm very adamant that we give God the glory Gateway church. You won't hear me say things like I did this and I decided I did this and find this, you will hear me talk about.

We have this the elders and I made this decision, the staff and I made the decision we made the decision.

The Goldline Todd Pastor Todd Petra Thomas and I were making a decision for the good of the congregation, but I don't get him say I did this and I did that and it's not that I'm doing it so much on purpose is just normal vicious natural because we build the kingdom of God.

Together we have prison camp. Since we have a campus in Jackson Hole. We do these things not humility is at the core of the values of Gateway church, because why would we had to be proud of God's doing it all were simply cooperating with EM God's will in this moving God's will and that working God's the one that's opening prison doors, you can't open 450 prison doors in a few months.

But God can and we can walk through that door. Philippians 23 let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind. I love this word slowly because this is the OX IS CALLED THE LOWLY SERVANT IN LOWLINESS OF MIND LET EACH ESTEEM OTHERS BETTER THAN HIMSELF AND IT GOES ON TELLS US WHAT JESUS DID AND I WANT YOU NOTICED IS WITH THEM AT THE HIGHEST PLACE. SOMEONE GET THE WIND CALLING AT THIS POINT YOU NOTICE WHEN JESUS ESTEEMS HIMSELF LOWER THAN OTHERS. WHAT HAPPENS IN VERSE NINE IT SAYS THEREFORE GOD ALSO HAS HIGHLY EXALTED HIM AND GIVING HIM THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME, AND REMEMBER THIS CREATURE, THIS, THIS FOUR-PHASE PREACHER GOES HIGHER AND HIGHER, AND THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO TALK ABOUT. WE WANT TO GO HIGHER AND HIGHER IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, BUT THE WAY YOU GO HIGHER IN THE KINGDOM IS YOU GO LOWER IF YOU TRY TO GO HIGHER.PUT YOU LOWER IF YOU TRY TO TAKE THE BEST SEAT AND WALKED TOGETHER. THE LAST SIX MAYBE TAKE THE LAST SEAT AND WALK UP TO THE FIRST SIX.

IT'S ALL OPPOSITE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE AUTHORITY TO GET UNDER AUTHORITY. IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE MORE TO BUILD A HELP BEFORE YOU GIVE MORE TO BUILD OUT PEOPLE IF YOU HERE'S A BIG OPPOSITE. IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IS ALL OPPOSITE OF THE KINGDOM.

SO IF YOU WANT TO HELP MORE PEOPLE THAN YOU WANTED TO SERVE MORE PEOPLE DON'T PUT YOURSELF UP AT THE TOP YOU PUT YOURSELF AT THE BOTTOM WHICH IS WHAT JESUS DID, BUT THEY EXALT YOU REALLY SCRIPTURES JOE FIVE 1150 SETS ON HIGH THOSE ARE LOWLY, LUKE 152. SHE IS PUT DOWN THE MIGHTY FROM THEIR THRONES AND EXALTED THE LOWLY. MATTHEW 2312 BY WAY JESUS SAID THIS MANY TIMES. THIS IS ONE TIME THAT HE SAID MATTHEW 2312 AND WHOEVER EXALTS HIMSELF WILL BE HUMBLED, AND HE WHO HUMBLES HIMSELF WILL BE EXALTED. TRY TO LIFT YOURSELF UP, HE SAYS, TAKING THEM IF YOU PUT YOURSELF DOWN. I'LL TAKE YOU UP FIRST PETER 56 THEREFORE HUMBLE YOURSELVES UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD, THAT HE MAY EXALT YOU IN DUE TIME. NOW SOME OF YOU MIGHT BE THINKING LIKE THIS WILL THAT'S RUBBER YOU'RE SAYING IF I HUMBLE MYSELF.

HE'S GOING EXALT ME, BUT I DON'T EXALT. I WILL BE HUMBLE, BUT THE MORE HUMBLE YOU GET MORE EASILY IF YOU NOW HEAR YOU'RE GETTING UGLY BUT I DON'T BE LIFTED UP. I DON'T WANT TO BE SEEN THAT I WANT TO BE A FACET OF REDEMPTION IS WONDERFUL. THAT'S WHERE SPECIFIC, SO WHY WOULD I BE SAYING THE HIGHEST PLACE ONE WE WANT TO BE LIFTED TO THE ICE WAS THE SAFEST WAY IS REAL SIMPLE.

THE ONLY REASON I WOULD BE LIFTED UP THE SIGN WITH SOMEONE ELSE UP. THE REASON I WANT TO BE PUT UP ON THIS PLATFORM. MAYBE IT'S I THINK SOMEONE ELSE APPEAR AND HELP THEM UP AS NOTE NOT ONLY PUT ON THE PLATFORM TO BE SEEING A LOT OF INFO. I WILL GO HIGHER IN MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD'S HELP SOMEONE ELSE FIRE IN HIS RELATIONSHIP.SO NOT TALKING… ONCE EXALT US FOR US TO BE SEEING ARE SOME OF THE FOCUS ON US OR GIVE US PRAISE REPORT ONLY, DOUBLE STEAK IS HIGHER LIKE THIS PREACHER GOES HIGHER IN WORSHIP AND PRAYER HIRING SERVICE HIRING GRACE SO THAT WE COULD TAKE OTHERS HIRING WORSHIP AND PRAYER AND SERVICE HIRING GRACE.

THAT'S THE REASON THAT WERE LISTED THAT THAT'S THE ONLY REASON WE DO WHEN I AM WENT TO SHADY GROVE CHURCH WHICH IS OUR NORTH BEND FOR A CAMPUS.

I HOPE AND I DO THAT EVERY TIME IT'S ME IT'S IT'S FUN FOR THIS TIME. OKAY, SO I AM SERIOUS.

I WOULD SO WE KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS IF I MADE SOME BAD NELSON REALLY MEANT WHAT I KNOW YOU PROBABLY WILL HAVE TO LET ME KNOW.

MY KIDS LET ME KNOW SO. BUT WHEN I WENT TO SHADY GROVE CHURCH. I WAS 23 YEARS OLD AND I WENT TO ONE SERVICE AND I KNEW THIS WHERE GOD WANTS ME AND MY FAMILY AND SO WE I TALKED THAT'S ROLAND'S ADULT FILMS WERE GOING CHURCHY SO HERE'S WHAT I'D LIKE YOU REACH THE OTHER MEMBER. NOW I STARTED PRE-THRONES 19, THOMAS 20 AND 21 IS BREACHED CRUSADES AND COLISEUM'S LARGER THAN OURSELVES A CAMPUS IN FOOTBALL STADIUMS AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

SO WHEN I CAME TO JOIN THE CHURCHES THAT WILL ACTUALLY JOIN THE CHURCH THAT WE CAN SERVE SOME PEOPLE KNOW YOU AND ALL IN AND I WANT YOU TO PREACH THAT WE CAN TRUST OKAY SO WHEN I PREACH THAT WE CAN AND THERE WERE THREE LEGS THIS MY UNDERSTANDING OF HOW PASTORAL AND CIVIL DUMBNESS. THREE LADIES THAT WERE VERY JUST PRAYER WARRIORS FOR THE CHURCH AND INTERCESSORS FOR THE CHURCH AND BUT THEY HAD PROPHETIC GIFTS.

SOMETIMES THEY WOULD BE FUTILE GIVE A WORD AND THEY WERE SO IN TOUCH WITH THE LORD BECAUSE I PRAYED SO MUCH THAT IT WAS ALWAYS JUST RIDE ON BIKES VERY UNASSUMING LADIES. SO THIS LADY COMES UP PASTORAL AND AFTER PREACH AND SHE SAID I HAVE THIS WORD FOR THAT'S ROBERT AND HE SAID, BREAKING NOTES GREATER OVERAGE REFLECTS IS THE ONLY THING I REMEMBER ABOUT THE WORD THAT SHE SAID SHE SAID YOUR FACE IS GOING TO BE A NEVER LIVING ROOM IS 23 YEARS OLD. HOW DID SHE KNOW THAT OUR TELEVISION PROGRAM WOULD ONE DAY GOING THAT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. BUT WHY DOES GOD WANT OUR TELEVISION PROGRAM IN EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD SIGNED IT RECOGNIZED SO I CAN HELP MORE PEOPLE.

SO I THINK THE MESSAGES THAT SHARE WITH YOU AND HAVE SOMEONE IN SOUTH AFRICA HEAR THAT SAME MESSAGE ARE IN BRAZIL ARE IN EUROPE SOMEWHERE ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THE CHANGE THAT'S ONE, CANNOT THOMAS.PUT THIS IN THE HIGH PLACE SO WE MAY SEE, SOMEONE PUT IN SOME GOD PUT US IN A HIGH PLACE SO WE CAN INFLUENCE OTHERS SO THE HIGHS WE TALKED ABOUT THE HIGHEST POSITION IN THE HIGHEST PRIVATE PLACE IS POINT NUMBER THREE THE HIGHEST PRICE THE HIGHEST PRICE. PHILIPPIANS 314, PAUL SAID, I PRESS TOWARD THE GOAL FOR THE PRIZE OF THE UPWARD CALL OF GOD IN PRICE. SHE'S FACES I'M PRESSING FOR THE PRIZE, BUT WHAT'S THE PRICE WE GOT BACK UP A FEW VERSES AND FLIPPING STRICT. FIRST OF ALL, HE LISTS ALL OF HIS CREDENTIALS, HE LISTS ALL HIS CREDENTIALS BUT THEN HE TELLS YOU WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT ALL OF THEIR SEVEN BUT WHAT THINGS WERE GAIN TO ME, THESE FIVE COUNTED LOSS FOR CHRIST.

YET INDEED ALSO COUNT ALL THINGS LOSS FOR THE EXCELLENCE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST ARE JUST RUMOR. THE KNOWLEDGE OF PRICE WILL GET BACK THAT CHRIST JESUS MY LORD, FOR WHOM I SUFFER THE LOSS OF ALL THINGS, AND I COUNT THEM. THESE ARE ALL THESE THINGS AS RUBBISH, THAT I MAY GAIN CHRIST. NOW SOME OF YOU ALL GOT THE BALL, BUT SOME OF YOU MIGHT REMEMBER THE OLD KING JAMES MAYBE GREW UP ON THAT.

THERE'S A DIFFERENT WORD IS USED IN THE OLD KING JAMES IS ACTUALLY CLOSER TO THE TO THE MEANING OF THE GREAT, HE DOESN'T SAY I COUNT THEM AS RUBBISH OR TRASH LIKE NEW VERSIONS.

IT JUST DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING TO ME AND THEN HE GOES ON THE SAY AND BE FOUND IN HIM AND NOT HAVING MY OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A FROM THE LAW, BUT THAT WHICH IS THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS FROM GOD BY FAITH THAT I MADE WERE LOOKING FOR THE PRIZE THAT I MAY KNOW HIM AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, BEING CONFORMED TO HIS DEATH YOU KNOW THE ULTIMATE PRIZE IS THE HIGHEST PRIZE SNOWING JESUS SNOWING JESUS. IT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SAID LAST WEEK ABOUT THE BOOK OF REVELATION IS NOT ABOUT ALL THE CHARTS NOT STOPPED BY JESUS.

WE GET SO FOCUSED ON ALL THE OTHER STUFF AND SAID JESUS. THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST IS NOT JUST KNOWING HIM THE FIRST TIME YOU'RE DONE I'LL GET SAFE. IT'S GROWING UP. THINK HOW MUCH MORE YOU KNOW HIM NOW AFTER HOWEVER LONG HE WALKED WITH AND HELP YOU CAN'T EVER GET TO THE END OF HIM IS JUST PHENOMENAL.

HE'S INCREDIBLE.

THAT'S WHAT PAUL IS SAYING IN THE WAY WE KNOW HIM MORE, IS LIKE COUNTING EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST OPEN THIS RUBBISH, TRASH, CHERRY COUPLE SCRIPTURES MORE SAYS THE HIGH AND LOFTY ONE. ISAIAH 5750 HI WHO INHABITS ETERNITY'S NAME IS HOLY. I DWELL IN THE HIGH AND HOLY PLACE WITH HIM WHO HAS A CONTRITE AND HUMBLE SPIRIT. PSALM 130 860 THE LORD'S OWN HIGH YET HE REGARDS THE LOWLY.

MATTHEW 1129 TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU AND LEARN FROM A FRIEND GENTLE AND LOWLY IN HEART, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO FIND REST FOR ANY OF YOU EVER GET TIRED THIS MORNING ABOUT THE LOWLY ONE MORNING THAT JESUS NOW WHEN WE MATURE WE SHOULD BECOME MORE AND MORE HUMBLE. IF A PERSON GETS MORE AND MORE PRIDEFUL.

WE GOT A REAL PROBLEM IS THAT PERSONS NOT GETTING CLOSER TO JESUS THE PERSON IS GETTING FARTHER FROM JESUS. YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET OLDER AND NOT MATURE.

HIS OLDER WE ARE TO MATURE IN CHRIST. THE SIGN OF MATURITY IN THE KINGDOM IS HUMILITY, AND WILL GIVE YOU MY CLOSING ILLUSTRATION HERE AND WILL USE THREE SCRIPTURES OF THE WITH PAUL GREATEST APOSTLE. NO DOUBT, HIGHEST POSSIBLE NO DOUBT WROTE 1/3 OF THE NEW TESTAMENT.

PRETTY INCREDIBLE GOT CAUGHT UP IN THE THIRD HEAVEN'S AND PUDDING TELL US THE THINGS THAT HE SAW AND HE ACTUALLY SAID ONE PLACE.

IS A CHRISTIAN FOR ABOUT 30 YEARS, 20 YEARS AFTER BECOMING A CHRISTIAN, 10 YEARS BEFORE HIS DEATH IN ONE FOLLOWING SO HE DYING 66 A.D. 56 A.D. HE WRITES FIRST CORINTHIANS, AND IN 50S 10 YEARS BEFORE GOD IS BEEN A CHRISTIAN UP 20 YEARS. HE MAKES A STATEMENT FOR I AM THE LEAST FIRST REMNANTS 59 OF THE APOSTLES ON THE LEAST OF THE APOSTLES ARE NOT WORTHY TO BE CALLED AN APOSTLE, BECAUSE I PERSECUTED THE CHURCH OF GOD. SEVEN YEARS LATER, THREE YEARS BEFORE HIS DEATH HE WRITES EPHESIANS EPHESIANS 3 VERSE EIGHT HE WRITES TO ME, WHO AM LESS, THAN THE LEAST OF ALL THE SAINTS LAST IN THE LEAST OF ALL THE SITES. TWO YEARS AFTER THAT ONE YEAR BEFORE HE DIES, WRITES FIRST TIMOTHY 471 VERSE 15 THIS IS A FAITHFUL SAYING AND WORTHY OF ALL ACCEPTANCE, THAT CHRIST JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS, OF WHOM I AM CHIEF. SO 10 YEARS BEFORE HE DIES. HE SAYS ON THE LEAST OF ALL THE APOSTLES.

THREE YEARS BEFORE HE DIES USES ON THE LEAST OF ALL THE SITES ONE YEAR BEFORE HE DIES. USES UNACHIEVABLE CENTERS. HE JUST KEEPS GOING DOWN AND DOWN AND DOWN IN HIS ASSESSMENT OF WHO HE IS WITHOUT CHRIST IS CALLED HUMILITY, AND THE FARTHER YOU GO DOWN THE MORE GOD CAN LIFT YOU UP SO YOU CAN BE OF LIFT WANT YOU TO TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK ABOUT WHAT PASTOR AMATEUR TODAY AND REALLY LISTEN TO WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS SAYING TO YOU IF YOU WANT TO CONNECT TO THE SERVER.
