The Ring of Authority

Welcome to worship in the word with pastor Robert last time we started a new series called sons not served focused on the parable of the prodigal son 15. Well, I'm your host Patrick and I just want to say thank you so much for listening last time we learned that his children of God we been dressed in robes of righteousness. No matter what we've done.

God has made everything right through Jesus's sacrifice of the crops in today's message Pastor Robert shares how fast similarly to the prodigal son in this story, received a ring that represented his authority as a son.

So we have been. Also, given that authority from God over the schemes of the enemy will learn how to get that authority. Keep it and walk in it. This is just such a great message, so let's assume in the past.

Robert wording series called sons not servants were talking about the prodigal son returned and we returned the father gave me three gifts in those three gifts represent something that the father gives us when we are sons and daughters not servants and so last week we talked about the robe. The rain represents authority. So this week the message is called the raising of authority.

God gives us authority and again I want to declare and make it clear that it's by grace through faith. God gives us this authority, but will talk about can we even a sons and daughters not walk in the authority that God gives us.

I'm sure your couple Scripture to show you how the rain represents authority in Scripture Genesis 41 versus 4343 and Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it own Joseph Sam and he closed in the garments of fine linen for the gold chain around his neck and he had a ride in the second. Which he had and they cried out before him bow the knee. So he said he over all the land of Egypt.

I gave him authority and the ring represented that in Esther eight chapter a verse eight of the key. Jesus is talking to Mordechai and Esther, and he says why did he prefer the Jews as you please and the king's name and seal it with the key signet ring for a letter which is written in the king's name and seal with the key signet ring.

No one can revoke why because the rain represented authority. So we have representations in them authority today, but what I want to focus the unknown in this message is that that reign of authority that the father gave the sun okay but just to talk about for authority for moment on Pastor Olin's best raffle and Griffin's one of our apostolic elders, but what some people didn't know what lies before he was a pastor it was the Texas state trooper and he said I could stand in the middle of the highway and hold up one hand and stop a 19 waiver. You need to know some that authority by the way, all authority is delegated. Romans 13 says, verse one. All authority is from God. So all authority is delegated except God's authority. His authority derives from himself. But all authority on this earth is delegated so it's all delicate self, so the father in this parable in Luke 15 delegates authority back to the prodigal son, but as a son or daughter can we not walk in that authority. And how do we walk in that authority. And how do we use that authority. So I will share three things with your right number one is humility. The quickest way you'll lose authority is to walk in pride because it's not your authority is his authority.

Jesus showed up with humility.

So Luke nine verse one says he called his 12 disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. Now maybe will save gas, gave the 12 apostles disciples are apostles recalled the 12 apostles authority that's would not, but somebody will realize what happened in lutein in Luke 10 verse one after these things the Lord appointed 70 others also. Let me say something about the 70 others they were baby Christians, but he gives them the same authority that he gives the 12 apostles. The new baby Christians and then they come back like a verse 17 and the 70 the 70 returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name and he said them out. No items that I just think I prays that this detail Jesus did you even demons are subject in your name and Jesus go it really didn't know his actual response was I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Here's what he saying listen when Satan crossed my dad. He was out like that that this doesn't surprise me that the going about my main because I know who I am I my father-son. I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven, and then watch what he says and he said to them, behold, I give you the authority to remember these are the 70 animals. Are you given money and how they are they that they are baby Christians. Their new believers also.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions that represent demons and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice watch because your names are written in heaven. There believers they that the names will be written in heaven. There were believers. So how do you know they were new believers. The next verse in that hour. Jesus rejoice in the spirit and said I thank you father, Lord of heaven and earth that you hidden these things don't talk about these things from the wise and the prudent watch and revealed them to base new Christians babies. Even so, father, think of your site and what was hidden. I just want you to notice what were they talking about. They were talking about authority over demonic spirit and here's what he was saying thank you Lord that you revealed. They asked to just baby Christians, but you hidden it from the people who think they're smart from the prideful error get people this is hidden, but the ones who are just babies go walking humility. They understand this, that they have authority in mining so you know when, after I had been saved just a little while. I started traveling with James Robison is one of our apostolic elders and he was doing crusade expected and I would go in and preach in churches before he would come and that I would do school assemblies on drugs and alcohol and things like that. Funny stuff. And then I would invite the kids I meet with athletes afterwards and not invite them to invite the whole school collector use. Not if the crusade and we have churches like Pete says in a bunch of young people coming to say so I did that for a few years for James so thin during that time James Robison Thompson and he talks about this openly.

One of his books and still talks about it.

He started learning about demonic spirits and how we could be in bondage, even over Christians and so you begin to preach on that we would preach on it.

He would then pray like a prayer of deliverance. Sometimes at what he would pray that prayer of deliverance and set aside like a demonic spirit might manifest and we had Kanab set up where we could take that person to another room and pray more extensively with them because Satan will try to draw attention to himself. If your member in Scripture.

He would try do that. Jesus said to would be quite not draw attention to yourself that's so. That happens sometimes. The one time James is Brian and this lady these these demons begin to manifest a trigger to another room and he was still James will still be an altar ministry time and someone came and got me and said hey there's a lady and she sees manifest in demons and they said no get Robert Morrissey can handle this. While walking down there in pride starts welling up in my heart you know that they think they gotta bring in the spiritual person, one that really understands deliverance.

You know, so I walk into the room now this woman is sitting in a chair and there are men on both sides of her actually holding her down when I walk in. This is what I remember she threw these men off of her and it's like there was a wall behind him and they kept that wallet, slid down the wall.

She turned and looked at me and a voice came out of her that was not her voice and looked right at me and said I've been waiting for you all the pride left us scared today and I was I didn't know whether to run out of the room.

What I mean.

I just stood there frozen in fear and all of a sudden I heard this little voice say stop it just like that and I look as member she's sitting there. I'm here in the over here in the corner was a little elderly lady that weighed about 97 pounds and I looked at her and she went to sleep.

She said stop it and she starts walking up this lady and she but she got him to the lady just on the spirit. She said you stop it right now you stop talking you stop making a scene and you let this precious woman go in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by the word of God and by the blood of the Lamb. See, gotta when she finishes about this space.

She put her hand upon her face and she said it's okay sweetie they're going and there were going and that woman just started I just started hugging him. Why just this and that I wouldn't change my shorts and she had authority to sue walking humility and no authority. As I was walking pretzel number once humility is number two is faith. Matthew eight verse five now when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him century sin that means 100 sent as the Roman soldier over 100 billion centurion came and said, Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed dreadfully formative and Jesus said I will send him I will come and heal him.

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I'm not worried if he should come under my roof, but only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. I love how words will jump out at you from the Bible and I want this will jump out of or connected watch what he says in verse 94. I also also remember the Lord also. I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me and I say this one go and he goes into another, and he comes into my servant, do this. Eddie does when Jesus heard it, he marveled instead of those who followed surely I say you have not found such great faith, not even in Israel motherboards, not even among my people. I also just like you just like you under authority. Jesus I'm under authority. So I have authority because I'm under authority and he had faith because he understood that now this is what the Lord shall be something about faith this week. Never seen it before. Never think I'm the preacher almost 40 years so I know faith is the word believe it's the same word many many times in Scripture.

Many many times this year you'll be translated faith in the same or to be translated belief somewhere else but your faith in Christ believe in Christ. Cyclic faith is what you believe that so this way I'm talking about Debbie's security service. Some of you modestly know social media.

So on Monday were in the kitchen and she said to me you know I'm coming up on the fifth day of the flu, and the fourth week of shingles and so she says, so tomorrow I'm going to be well tomorrow Monday well so were in the kitchen where this conversation. I walk up to the garage about five minutes later she walks out she's crying and she rounds the car I can see she has a towel in her hands are bleak. What happened was she was washing her face with soap and water. Big flower vase if fail because of you and soapy. She went to grab it. We have a concrete sink if hit the bottom of the sink.

She's trying to grab it. She basically just shoved her fingers in the shards of glass were going to work on the ER for the third time in 30 days, and while I was walking Manning tie the thought that rose up in the what, why am I not been able to cover her what what yes it is there an open door in my life. And if you remember I dad had one word for the Lord why all this warfare board said because were waiting.

Thanks so but I'm saying or what's the warfare. What what's open door. My life illicitly. Member faith is what you believe what you say is what you actually believe so. The Lord told me and I preached a message if you wish, or don't stop believing lies is that you believe to life's one is when all this started, you started started believing this just normal. I mean shingles reported signals so this is normal and then she got a urinary tract infection. This is normal for the ladies get UTIs. This is normal. She got the flu. This is normal fleas born around the subnormal said you just believe you*believe is normal.

Such one like Second Life even though you knew it was warfare. You were believing a lie because you didn't quite understand warfare son so please hear me this is so good you got here this he said yes it's normal from the Academy to war against my children. But it's not normal for my children to lose. That's not hey sorry faintly through the Bible just a few thing he said yes.

The Egyptian army followed the Israelites, but they also drive. Yes, Daniel got thrown in the line stand but I shut the mouth of the lines. Yes, there's warfare, but we win the shield of faith, what you believe quenches every flaming arrow of the government everything and so we called our intercessor having precious families. Matthew 21 verse 23 now when he came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted him as he was teaching and space.

By what authority are you doing these things and who gave you this authority who gave you this authority.

Jesus entered set them out… I just love Jesus for just such a cool guy, you know that I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell me I likewise will tell you by what authority :-) thanks Michael okay LSU does question in your mind that I give you my answer if you don't I wonder know you're an idiot I the baptism of John. I like the paragraph there. The Bible, but that's actually where the conversation ended because let me show you the very next part. The first part of the next verse look at this verse 28. But what do you think but what do you think, and then he tells a story's okay so now buses go back for just a moment, they said, by what authority do you do these things. Who gave you this authority. So he makes a point and then he says to them, but when you think what you think I got this authority to tell you how I got this authority you following so you can't stop there. You got to break I bought first clinic what you think. A man had two sons became the first and said so I go work today in my vineyard answer and said I will not but afterward he regretted it and went or repented, and went and they came to the second set.

One is he saying you said you would obey the father but you get. He's just clarifying the sentence he saying they will go to heaven. Prostitutes and I don't have it. Why because they regretted it, and then they started following God.

They repented and started falling off. They said were to get this authority who gave you this authority is what he said you know I got the starting by doing the will of the father. I got it from father you what you think. What would you think I got understated story. One guy didn't do what his father said one got it or you think I got the start are you I follow on this tell you that even as a believer as a believer you can you can have a ring of authority. But you can walk in pride.

You have no authority you can believe a lie and you lose your authority or you can walk in disobedience and rebellion and you lose your authority.

Following this, am I making it clear that so my daughter Elaine. I have three children Josh James Elaine, my daughter Elaine when she was about 16 or 17 years old begin to rebel, but she did it secretly she came to church when to use it. All that she wanted to see what the world had to offer and for a little over two years she lived in rebellion and she lived in sin, you might be saying and shown everyone on the outside thinks that you're a good Christian boy are good procedural but you're not. Here's the problem you're opening the door to the enemy in your life, it doesn't matter what your righteous.

At some point you begin making your own decisions.

Even if you don't tell your parents. But if you start making your own decisions you start to see walk away from God suffer consequences. Our daughter started getting these cluster migraine headaches is where you not only have one migrating your system but you have four or five in the cluster together.

Steve and Millie would come to the hospital. We watched our daughter scream in pain that can stop the thing we didn't know what was going on when she repented no more migrants. What a story of God's goodness to us when we repent in humility, even if you've opened the door for the enemy with your decisions or actions, and there seems like there's arrows that are attacking your life, you can always turn your heart toward Almighty father who is graciously waiting to accept us and give us a ring of authority to carry in humility and faith, and obedience.
