Hi this is breathing welcome to the Salvation Army's words of life.

Welcome back to words of life and happy new year everybody. It is great to be back in the studio with Cheryl Gillam.

Happy new year everyone and we want to say we hope that you're having a great start to the new year. Special thanks to our friend Commissioner Phil Needham for the Christmas series that concluded last week. I hope it was an extra blessing to your Christmas season and this week we're launching a new series and sharing something we've never done before on this show for the next 11 weeks Col. Dan Sterrett will be discussing the 11 doctrines of the Salvation Army. This is an incredible opportunity for us and particularly me as a salvationist, someone who goes to the Salvation Army as the church.

These are articles of faith. This is what we believe and coincidently every one of them starts with we believe that right and this helps us to articulate our faith in what we actually believe that the Bible is saying it's not something that you know separate from what God's word says is just helping us a salvationist to articulate in our faith yeah were we are co-laborers in Christ as Christians.

The Salvation Army was born out of the Methodist Church and that the doctrines are very important. As far as the way that they are presented because the very first one is what is our foundation. We believe that the Bible is true. It's pretty simple. We believe that the Scriptures of the old and new Testaments were given by the inspiration of God and that they only constitute the divine rule of Christian faith and practice that lays out the foundation for the other 10 articles of faith which equals 11 and that's what we believe as Christians a salvationist so I cannot wait for you
