Hi this is breeding welcome to the Salvation Army's words of life back to words of life. I am Chris and I'm burning were glad that you're here were now in our fifth episode of our series, the post-cobra church this week. We really focus on what the church started to look like as we left our buildings for many officers and soldiers as you will hear this was a time that fired them up to go out into the community even more than ever before, yet with this. This week's episode. This conversation made me think of was so often well the thing that Kobe really did was of course make us appreciate stuff that we were maybe taken for granted and I think even our corporate worship services became one of those things where if that's something we are starting to take for granted, it could become like customer service experience that we just we show up we wait to get served. We then leave and and that's kind of it, but when we lost that the church had to become the family like truly the family that it's meant to be gets outside of our walls and will hear even some of the scores they went out to the communities and said okay you're in our church. You're not responsible for your street and there having outdoor services and really taking ownership will again like we mentioned last week.

This is actually part two of this longer discussion. So if you missed last week's episode. Be sure to listen visit Salvation Army sound cast.org or subscribe the words of life where you get your money is in no small sum is connections with people you see people as something burning on your heart. You said you said so we need to do when we are this is how we recharge our maybe this is what the home and you want this for me I'll shoot you your gift what you know your background seemed to me she's calling she's taking this opportunity. She's in her neighborhood.

She's pregnant and she was over there. She's pregnant some time there. However, I threw this very much stayed there almost being mean to themselves being very cautious in somewhere where he had a whole different challenge and I reach how to connect with patient agreements because any visit is to keep that space and I was too close to the last table. This time I will delete the so many followers is people who can share hello so we know sometimes we can roll all falling ways. Sometimes we expect a whole just like what I do is this multi-day just going to the world is all about how big was the culturally continued to make a disciple then eventually lost the war. They will leave people see what's happening. They realize that in the St. Francis of Assisi model preach the gospel use words when necessary people are seen what's going on and I have to believe that God is using that maybe even stimulate their thinking right can you believe that I appreciate that. I wish that we all had 18 weeks of labor from the company. I guess I really wanted Sam just encouraged that God equipped you to identify you had bodies that could help you soldiers willing members of your church that could come alongside your ministry so my work in our case number people that I work with were either furloughed, which meant they were sure they will come back to work in and we all wanted to make sure that no one without it. She said it was such a scary time going forward.

Jeremy said there are some things that cannot stop and admittedly I'm now thinking in my own church.

How can I engage more purposeful acts of worship in that sense and singing worship to our service again, not by works both faith without works is that we get to be a part of helping our officers beat the drums communities thought so.

Reprieve is always trying just came to the door lock.

I hate to sound so terrible. We're just trying to see nose at all times. We had no reason no check the door doing something you go see what was open the door, quickly, I'm so sorry I'm so sorry but talking with the loss.

John is homeless. He stated a partner agency shelter and their great conversation and I just remind us explicitly stating a chapel to the streets with makeshift, social service area. We are church thinking I want to make sure that he didn't have to come to church to get services but should always be should always be what we do and not saying that we are church that you need to talk if you need to leave. We are here. That is what we should be doing and even this time we have traditional food pantry seed of the churches of the 770s is stored down and so all his other partner agencies is his way of getting food from point a to point B in our trucks just sit over here just sitting and so I am now professional box truck just let everyone know. So that's really how we we just said okay will will the transportation gap in the county weekly. We're just picking out from this agency is this senior home to this community. And so one serving as always, you in a secular environment find a way to ask how are you doing just what you need. How are you doing, how is your soul and you really people doing. We got a note handwritten note from one lesson from one area senior homes. Just saying thank you for not forgetting about this is just this is only so many things are changing, but was not changing is that our ministry still changes our message is still is based on the Bible that is not changing in our mission. Our mission is just you know people actually do we we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and me human needs.

His name without discrimination, and that does not change and will not change as we are at our core CO are glad the Bible is not just words on a page is literally God's heart in her hands, and I pray that you might be watching this for hearing this set words of life podcast subscription you are encouraged by that you can that's word find purpose for your life this week.
