The Salvation Army you're listening to wonderful words of life. Welcome back everybody and say welcome to our producer Chris Benjamin was back in front of the mic hello everyone Merry Christmas and I was asking our listeners to give an audible hello technology here than I was leaving out the eye while they're there but you know we we hope that you are there and that you'll even maybe communicate with us. Every once a while by sending us an email giving us a call. It's been a great few weeks of episodic radio programs particular for this advent season and Chris gets a lot of credit for coming up with the idea of peaking in our eavesdropping around the Christmas table where friends and family just sit around and reminisce perhaps about their their own Christmas memories good and bad because there's things that aren't always happening around the holidays said all of this week course we start getting into a little more theology and the sweet kind of piggybacking off of what we discussed last week, we begin to discuss what is really mean that God became man you know we we know that Jesus is God. Jesus was with God in Trinity, but I think we we think a lot about Jesus, God, and we don't think as much about Jesus the man you know because it is easy to do because we we have his birth. We have a couple things that happen you know he's 12 and then read is three years of ministry, but in that he lived life you learn to trade you know he had siblings and that's an interesting just going off another action because while he was perfect and God he was part of an earthly family that that wasn't so were their family fights would that look like innocent when we we pray and and you know were saying we have to really understand that he was fully human, is to know that he understands our struggle absolutely and I think the other thing is, he understands the idea of family not everybody can share maybe 10 or 11 siblings what my wife and I were at a wedding this weekend, the youngest of 13 children and whether you have siblings or you are an only child, you have family there. There's a mom and a dad in there somewhere.

A grandma and grandpa perhaps. Whatever your story is. We use Christmas often to reminisce about the good things and the blessings that God's given us, not the least of which was his son and as we celebrate Jesus, particularly during this time of year. Just take a moment and have an attitude of gratitude that make sense for us absolutely having our Christmas is three days away and I'm excited. I love Christmas I to can share with several of our friends that share that I have some some painful memories associate with the holidays, but for the most part I can't wait a love just the divide the hope that everything that surrounds us holidays so we pray that you're able to to lean more on that side. This Christmas, and spray the somewhere safe and and surrounded by family of people. I can just chew up. Amen.

If nothing else.

Have a Merry Christmas and will see you next week on wonderful words of life. Merry Christmas. This Christmas, you're invited to fight for the hungry, hurting and hopeless to fight for those struggling to keep a roof over their heads make ends meet and survive holidays to fight for justice all year long. You're sustaining my thinking just $25 nation Army's ability to join the fight for good Salvation Army Christmas right on Mary in the hardship that she knows she went to deliver major story. What you think about the fact that God himself actually became human man baby came into the world, humble himself to like come down and live with us. He was fully human right I Jesus had you. We went through everything that we went through growing up course, he always had a king of respect but that doesn't mean that he didn't struggle right you know allows us to to feel like when we saylike he relates like he gets and I think if we don't really believe that he was fully human, like you really don't know who I think will when it becomes real to us that he became man like he humbled himself as much as you could humble yourself came from high to the lowest of low so I think I think they you just knowing that believing that your relationship with the Lord is right and you can go you get to a whole another level a whole another realness with God when you can be like. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around Jesus as a teenager. Oh, you know knowing what I did. It's hard thing is you know is first miracles keeping the party going turning water to wine. I mean did he know from his birth that he was the son of and that I would that change the way that he interacted with other teenagers. 12 when he was Jerusalem to the temple and he clearly had a sense that no I got another work. I got another calling or something else in the stirrers and so there there was some awareness, whatever that look like for you ever cheat on math test, you know, yeah, you understand the fact that he became man, your thought process is that he was so got you completely take you because he was a like God but he was also man walking through all that he was then being separate from his father like I mean I don't and I don't think that we I really don't think that we can even grasp that separation of the Trinity. Yeah, I just don't think that it's even something that we really think about.

Often we think about Jesus coming down to you now. One of my favorite stories lately in the Gospels is when Jesus is praying. You know the night that he is that he's arrested and he's like Lord, take this cup from me like until he's terrified you now and he wants to do this class. She is terrified like it was and he knew he knew the plan.

I can just imagine to that fear building.

As you know, this day is approaching like this time has come in like now my time on earth like with my friends and these disciples. I poured into that coming to an end this cup from me. Yeah, by this is your well like I will lock it all and I will follow through as much as we all know babies are cute but we can we stay there forgetting the rest of his life. Right you know that other 30 years. Yeah, I know of his life like there was struggle, and I think it's it's so easy to do that. You've got the bird you got a couple stories of you know Jesus going up her teaching in the temple and running in no parents are leaving and they don't know where he is and I'll send you a history is a ministry that you you got life that was lived there. You've got family fights you guys mean all these things.

I don't think we we ever talk about. I mean it easy not to but I think when we look like what is that mean that he's that he was God and man.

Look at yeah was he extroverted was the introverted was he was he shy, bashful, was he kinda all out. All cylinders firing well.

He was shy for the most part new.

He's calling you shy shy and then he started learning what he could do what he could do for people and then that's when full power. Look at her considerable responses that he gave two questions as an adult I have to wonder was he that way as a young person think about what people were asking about things. Did he really before he spoke, because in my mind. You went when he responds to the Sadducees and the Pharisees of the teachers who ever I envision that he paused and thought for a moment before he spoke. So I'm wondering if that was that was his whole life if he always thought speaking on behalf of my father here I feel like he was life will come back to him at 12 in the temple. Even then, the priest and all those gathered, they were kind of scratch my head saying we got one here this kid is he's precocious he he he. He's plug so we recognize them in a crowd. Maybe not, but the interact. I have to think, Lori, I have to think that they would be safe if you into this, there'd be something that you're kinda something about my finger on it but you might not be the first one to speak, but when he does his nails that answer that's that's an image that I have in my own imagination connecting Street. I have to sit you have to recognize the possibility of something otherworldly.

This and I keep coming back to that idea when I engage with. I don't know I have to engagement you have to connect have to stop stop the paperwork actually sent just listened to back to how much doing this. How often I choose something else.
