So what I wanted to talk about tonight was the blessed hope and the blessed hope is all of the Scripture milking the Scripture to be found in Titus 113 looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ the blood and notice the word says not hope the blessed hope and that word blessed when we look at the original Greek is you.

It's like a gigantic blessing.

So looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Now look at the gospel of our Lord and Savior, of course. What is so important is the cross and the Lord dying on the cross and him shedding his blood to pay the penalty. The price for our sin. The Bible in Romans 623 says the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, is the penalty for sin. It's that Lord dying on the cross that penalty for us, he took the penalty for sin, so we don't have to endure the penalty which has to be paid folks in NL so we don't have to will never go there.

We don't have to worry about that. We just keep our life focused on Christ and following him and striving for righteousness and holiness in and that is our life here now.

However, there is more to the gospel: Paul gave us the gospel in first Corinthians. He said how Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture. Verse 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, so Christian discipleship Christian living in this world is to wait by the Holy Spirit, denying ungodliness, ungodliness, means living without God in our life.

Worldly lusts, they could be sports we could make like idolatry and worldly lusts scores could be a lot of things folks so there's nothing wrong per se, would like sports, but it could become a lot in the Holy Spirit teaches us that this is a was that removing where living ungodly in certain areas of our life, then it says in verse 12 we should live soberly, that means clear thinking someone that is under the influence of the drug or alcohol does not have a sober mind that we think of it may be with the body but soberly here is with a clear thinking mind and righteously so righteously is where living our life lined up God's word were not caught up into worldly lusts will not caught up into the world is not taken a soak righteously, and godly. Godly is we everything in our life we bring God into everything, marriage, family, work, our free time whatever we doing godly weekly brief, the creator of the universe, folks, and he wants to bless us. So how can we keep him out of certain areas of our life.

How looking for that blessed hope and glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. So this is more than the document book something important.this is a living reality.

And when we live with that reality, we are going to grow spiritually might have our feet on in this world standing in this world, but our mind or heart, or desires or in heaven. That's the power of looking for the blessed hope, and we go to verse 14, who gave himself for us that Jesus gave himself for us on the cross that he might redeem us.

Look at this from all iniquity. Again, the blessed hope works mightily enough to redeem us through Christ redeem us from all iniquity, and purify if we're living Christ coming for us. It's very difficult to be in sinful because one is gonna defeat the other. And if we have that love enough the blessed hope, we are going to have great power from the Holy Spirit to be purified inside to retrieve it. We don't want any part of iniquity and then it says, zealous of good works so living with the rapture, the blessed hope Christ coming should energize us with the zeal. The zeal to do good works.
