Single and we look forward to the return of your worship regarding Hibbard brotherhood. The ROI that you worship your royal attorney for the beverage or modules of parallels now that you worship.

One day in your eternal from revealing the mysteries of heaven is with the conclusion of his message worship Prince week together and we have to look back over her shoulder to Friday where we started talking about what it would be like to worship in heaven and were getting most of our clues from Revelation chapter 4. But there are other passages in that wonderful book as well.

What will it be like to actually be in the presence of the Lord. Personally, physically, spiritually, and worship him in the great throng that gathers at the throne of God.

What it what a thrill that will be and all of these things give us clues as to what kind worship we should have now and God bless those of you who are committed to that because worship is the key today to drawing near to the Lord and hearing his words resonated in our hearts what, let's finish up now what we started on Friday were talking about one will be like to worship in heaven noticed the center of verses two and three we read immediately. I was in the spirit, and behold, second heaven, and one sat on the throne and he was like a jasper stone in appearance and there was a rainbow around the throne and appearance like an emerald. Now the key word in this verse is the word wrong. In fact, if you go to the book of Revelation you will find it appears 46 times in that book.

It's interesting because it's 14 times just in the fourth chapter were all in this context speaks sovereignty speaks speaks of rain. Speaks of control and when you read about the throne of God is my anger on this seem to be chaotic and without any meaning what control is one in the universe seated on the throne. Sovereign. He is in control.

We are not without any direction. Almighty God is seated upon the throne in heaven.

No one is in control of your life is out of control. I want you to know there is one who is in control. That's Almighty God and his John sees that throne. He tries to describe what he sees this job because the primary focus of the throne is God himself and the Bible says no man is ever seen God and live so John could only see the appearance of God, he symbolically tries to describe the image that he sees his heaven, and he says in verse three that he saw like a jasper and a sorry stone and a rainbow around the front. Jasper is what we call a diamond. Many faceted stone that sparkled and glittered in the light. Johnson looked upon that scene was the brilliance of the diamond and diamond was accompanied by a sardius or carnelian stone, which is the same as our Ruby is a rainbow that looked like an emerald majesty and beauty of his eternal creator.

All he could comprehend was that it was like a brilliant diamond Ruby in an emerald was so magnificent it took his breath away my friend at the door to heaven would open today do not see the throne in heaven we would be best hard-pressed to describe it as John was, but it would be something like what you describe the brilliance and beauty and glory of that place and the reminder to us that God is not on vacation. He hasn't taken a sabbatical God is on the throne, he is seated in his Majesty. There in heaven the context of worship and the center worship and not notice the chorus of worship. John is about realizing what is about to see worship service going on in heaven. And I want you to read with me and then verses nine through 11, around the throne were 24 thrones, and on the phones I saw 24 elders sitting close in white robes, met crowns of gold on their heads, and whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne, who lives for ever and ever. The 24 elders fell down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever cast their crowns before the throne, saying you were the Lord to receive honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they exist and were created. John was allowed to see heavenly worship. He wrote about the magnificence about occasion he gives us a glimpse of what it will be like someday to be part of that great worship experience when forever. We bring honor and glory to our God.

John noticed that there were 24 seats around the throne occupied by 24 elders.

These are identified as the representatives of the church of the living God.

Revelation 5 verses 8 to 10 says this now when he had taken the scroll of the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp and golden bowls of incense, which are the prayers of the saints, and they sang a new song, saying the to take the scroll and to open its seals were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation made us kings and priests to our God and we shall reign on the earth will I wish we could hear John apparently heard. I wish we could see what John tries to describe to us that he saw his massive overwhelming magnificent glorious praise of God in heaven. William Temple has defined praise like this, he says worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God to feed the mind with the truth of God to purge the imagination with the beauty of God to the heart to the love of God at the will to the purpose of God. This describes the worship in heaven and it should be the goal of every worshiper on earth.

One day we will be a part of that gathering before the throne, which is you remember is that the center of heaven.

It is the very center of the place we call heaven will be gathered around that throne to bring honor and glory to the Lord want to talk for just a moment about one of the interesting observations I've made in studying these passages on worship in Revelation that is the crescendo of worship in heaven. Crescendo means to get louder and louder to get bigger and bigger to make more and more out of what started as small crescendo is to finish and it's interesting that in the worship songs in the book of Revelation is an obvious crescendo. There is a growing percentage of praise in the book of Revelation.

First of all, in verse six of chapter 1. There is a twofold doxology to him be glory and dominion forever and ever.

Amen a twofold doxology when you come to chapter 4 verse 11 is a threefold doxology you are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. When you come to chapter 5 in verse 13 will doxology blessing and honor and glory and power be to him who sits on the throne and when you come to the seventh chapter 12 verse rose sevenfold doxology. Amen. Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.

You feel worship of the book of Revelation starts out twofold. It ends up sevenfold. And there's this gigantic crescendo worship the Lord probably noticed if you observed worship in churches that we can love to do that in our music we like in no start small and you keep changing keys and he gets louder and bigger and mightier. I just want you to know when we do that, that it's biblical. That's what the Bible says is going to happen in heaven emerges reversing trying to get ready for all that as you read the book of Revelation and you get closer to the end of the book you see the price seems to become more massive and will look at a couple of the passages.

It's almost as if the crescendo worship and praise follows the timeline of God's purpose for his world. Now if that is true. I want you to think about this for moment. Never in the history of Christianity, has there been a greater emphasis on worship and praise, then there is today. You may not like all of it. You may say I don't like worship and praise music but I want to tell you something every Christian radio station is being dominated by it. People are calling the Christian stations and saying we want more praise and worship.

If we're not careful, those of us who are in longform teaching on Christian stations are going to be pushed off by music. I don't think that's right. But what I'm trying to help you understand is this if it is true that the crescendo of worship and praise is the signaling of the end. What we are observing today in our culture is a good sign because worship and praise his highest priority. It's ever been. You cannot have a church without great worship today because the culture will not allow it. And these are the days when God's people are finding what it means to really worship God with all their heart and soul and mind because one day that's going to be in heaven heaven will be a grand crescendo worship throughout eternity. You want you know how much I love music and you know how exciting that is for me. I hope by the time I get there I would be able to sing base and be able to be part of that choir.

The crescendo of worship.

Then I want you to the contrast of worship number five the great Christian apologist CS Lewis wrote allegorical the great divorce in this allegory is a man who rides the bus to Paradise and he finds it more fully and powerfully real than anything you could ever imagine. Everything is alive bursting with color and expressed in complete reality. But hell, he discovers, is nothing more than a flock of dust in comparison. It is concerned only with tiny things in the same way Lewis suggests our lives in this world become smaller and smaller in light of the grandness of eternity. John looks at heaven through this open door everything that he sees is a grand scale, gigantic in proportion forcefully wonder at it all and then we worship and suddenly everything in this world become small and insignificant in comparison. Getting a glimpse of heaven is like standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon or at the top of the Rocky Mountains and being speechless at the site, we suddenly see that God is much bigger than we had thought and wants bigger and better things for us in this world can ever offer John was allowed to experience true realities. One moment isolated on Patmos separated from friends and grade about the persecution of the church by the Roman Emperor Domitian.

John was facing discouragement that in a moment of time. He is out of that reality through the open door into heaven, and he sees the Lord seated on the throne and the picture of sovereign control and he sees the elders bowing down and worshiping that he sees the beauty and majesty of heaven and God made this experience to John to encourage his heart worship took him from the loneliness of this discouraged heart right into the control room of the universe to see God's purpose and plan for everything that would happen in the future. You and I are constantly bombarded with the reality of this world television and radio and newspapers are incessantly giving us to focus on this world and on our present reality. No problem with this reality is in contrast to the unseen reality of heaven.

Christians often lose their eternal things are somehow less real. According to the Scripture that are not less real.

They are more real, that which we know here on earth is temporal and eternal God sits in judgment on that which is temporal when John was ushered into the presence of God. Everything that was going on in his life was immediately brought next to the eternal reality of God.

This is one byproduct of worship that should motivate us all the more when I see high and lifted up my little stuff doesn't seem anything to him. God is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think nothing is impossible to him, still worship that my spirit was lifted up, and it is still worship that I am a sea goddess. John saw him, and it is still worship them that my life starts to have a perspective about it and even this to it that keeps me from the ups and downs in the roller coaster that so used to dominate my life before I discovered what it was like to really worship Almighty God. Jesus is telling John in that moment of reality John. I want you to know that things are not as they appear to be.

I want to show you how things really are on the throne room of heaven and show you genuine reality. Things are not out of control. Satan has not one evil has not triumphed through the door get a glimpse of reality. God is on his throne in such a site will transform your heart and your mind forever so can I learn from the scene in heaven how to apply it to my own life. Let me just give you four things real quickly. First about worship is not about us, it's about him say that with now that we really need to make this come down to our heart and worship is not about us, it's about him asking this question. What should you be thinking when something happens in the worship service that just really is your preference should be thinking.

Worship is not about us. If we focus on the object of our worship will be so contrary about the substance of our worship and the style of our worship. One of the reasons why we get all bent out of shape when we have worship wars in our church is because we forget that worship is not about baskets about worship is not about here.

It's about their one of the main purposes of worship is to get our minds off the things of this earth and all the things in heaven and only is the function with integrity in our life. If you walk through this life.

All you see is what's here messed up. I'm telling you here messed up. But if you see heaven. It makes all this start to make sense. That's what this series is about getting guns of heaven and earth will come in the proportion that's why we read in Colossians 313 that were to set our mind on things above, not on things on the earth for you died in your life is hidden with Christ in God is not about us, it's about him.

It's not about here. It's about their it's not about now it's about therefore we do not lose heart even though man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal now I want you to notice is doing here, and if I could just take the whole time it takes is one passage challenges the Corinthian believers to leverage everything that was going on in their lives against the promise of the future and I want you to notice how carefully he contrasts everything in this passage the man is perishing the man is being the light affliction is for today. The weight of eternal glory is with things which are seen are leveraged against the things which are not seen affliction for moment as leveraged against glory for eternity. Things which are temporary are leveraged against things which are eternal. It could not be clearer, through which we make the exchange of heaven. It is the avenue that leaves us from the things of this world to the fullest of the next world.

It is the street that leads from decay and discouragement to renewal and glory. And when we fail worship we can find ourselves to the despair of his life.

That's why worship is not just some people worship and some people don't worship is the very core of your existence. You were created to worship and when you don't worship you are failing to express the purpose for you being here. Worship is not about us, it's about him. It's not about here. It's about their it's not about now. It's about then, and it's not about one. It's about many in an age when summer saying the corporate worship is really not necessary time to become the worshiping worship in her own home worship on the golf course beautiful trees down miss one shot but you're not worshiping people say you will need to come in as many valuable independent church listen to. You need church you need each other and it's interesting that in the book of Revelation for every time there is any independent worship. John falls down and worshiped, where five or six or seven occasions when massive worship is presented.

There is no such thing as individual Christianity I've told you many times the word saints is always in the plural of the Bible. So here's another strong blow worshiping with your brothers and sisters in your own local church. In Revelation, you cannot escape the massive gatherings that will populate heavens worship experiences no money in my message with just reminding you of some of these Revelation 511 and 12.

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders and the number of them was 10,000×10,000, you talk about a clear higher and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory blessing.

Listen to this description of heavenly worship in Revelation chapter 14 and I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They say his new song before the throne. Revelation 19, six and I heard his voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thundering saying hallelujah for the Lord God of rains. You see that picture with choirs and orchestras can elevate us to such heights of enjoyment here on this earth. What will it be like when we hear the celestial choirs accompanied by heaven trained orchestras lifting plays Almighty God, and I hope to be a part of that.

Having said all that, if that's where we headed. We need to start rehearsals immediately and then we need to start reversals immediately and see how long we got to get ready for tomorrow.

So we need to start now. We need to sing praise to the Lord and learn how to worship him because one day were going to be involved in this gigantic worship experience when we praise the Lord together as I'm recording this production were going back to our church for the first time after the coronavirus shut down and I cannot tell you how excited we all are to be back worshiping the Lord God together as a church family going through that same experience and you know what I'm talking about my wanting to talk about the new heaven and the new earth. The Bible tells us that is coming it in the future one on Monday God is going to renovate planet Earth heard a lot of stories about how he's going to destroy planet Earth, but he's not he's going to renovated and that the Bible is very clear about that and were to talk about the new heaven and the new earth tomorrow. Just another one of the topics related to heaven if you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Heaven is not your ultimate destiny, but you can change all that today you can accept Jesus Christ into your heart right now, right where you are acknowledging your sins to Almighty God in his holiness and then asked the Lord to forgive you and he will come to live within you and the Bible says when you get that gift from God.

It is the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
