Looking at the life of David. This remarkable man, Israel's greatest king is called a man after God's own heart and healing for Samuel 17 we have one of the most famous stories in all of the Old Testament. Even if you don't know your Bible very well. I think you familiar with the story. You may never have read it but is probably one of the main stories we teach our children when our son was very very young.

These cassette tape. Some of you remember them and we had this one, and one was David and Goliath if I had the story once I have been 100 times and only traveled in the car. Our little son wanted to hear again David and I think this is first time I would've ever preached on the story.

If you grew up in some the scope with the Sunday school song, only a lad called David only a little sling only a lad called David only bricklaying brook blank faces obviously never made its way over the Atlantic would have got some people think you the Golden oldies there.

We are, and the even in our circles we occasionally would like to use hand motions Nathaniel and that when it came to the sling it went round and round and round and round in writing than Rhonda and Ron one little stone went through the air and the giant fell to the ground and was one occasion where we could find on the floor and make a lot of noise because after all life biggest on the bees mind and the well.

The title of today's message is David the giant killer. I've heard quite a number of preaching on this message and it almost invariably involved in killing the giants of our life giants like fear and greed and suffering and addictions and unforgiveness. As I listen to anything is amazing how when we read the Scriptures how much we become the focus. I wonder when the writer was writing for Samuel 17 was he thinking about you and me fighting the giants in our life. I think that is a legitimate application but we want to focus on what the text says and ask ourselves why is this chapter in the Bible because it's much, much more than the story of a young boy killing a giant I remember one message I heard for those assured in the Dallas seminary and a preacher who was not a dollars graduate.

I'm glad to say he spent most of this message wondering why David only chose five zones. Why did you have five stones.

After all, he only used one and I thought I never had that question until I presume you the little pouch and he went to the brook and picked up five stones if you got a gun you don't put just one bullet in it. I don't have a gun, but those of you who have you don't just put in one bullet, but this man made a tremendously long-winded message good night remembers it well about David and his five stones. The other possibility is at the end of second Samuel chapter 21 I we read that there were four other giants in God who later in David's story also going to be killed by David in his mighty men and fight David's nephew Jonathan are the son of one of his brothers is going to kill one of the giants. Everything about them. They had six fingers and six toes and that they would kill.

So maybe David was thinking of these some of the other giants. We don't know we want to focus on what the text says I'm going to read all of first Samuel chapter 17 is a long chapter.

I don't do the photo sleep is the most important part. This is a story remarkable story of David killing a giant throughout your Bible follow it with me bringing from English standard version by the Philistines gathered their armies for battle, and there were gathered that circle which belongs to Judah, and the time between Asarco and Isaac, and F is the mean and that's all in the men of Israel were gathered and encamped in the Valley of Ila and Drew are in line of battle against the Philistines.

The Philistines stood on the mind and on one side and Israel stood on the minds and on the other side with a valley between them and their Mind from the camp of the Philistines champion named Goliath of God, whose height was six cubits, and the span over 9 feet great quarterback the helmet of bronze and they said and was armed with a coat of mail and the weight of the court was 5000 shekels of bronze and had bronze armor on his legs and the job of the bronze slung between his shoulders.

The shaft of the spear was like a weaver's beam and his peers had weighed 600 shekels of iron and his shield bid and when before him. He stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, why have you come out to draw up for battle.

Am I not a Philistine and argue not servants of Saul choose a man for yourselves and let them come dying to me.

If he is able to fight with me and kill me.

Then we will be your servants and if I prevail against him and kill him.

Then you shall be our side wins inside of us. The Philistines said either five the ranks of Israel this day. Give me a man that we may fight together with Saul and all Israel had these words of the Philistine they were dismayed and greatly afraid of David by skillfully written so all this relates to the faith of David with the sound of an effort side of Beth women. Judah named Jesse with eight sons in the days of Saul the man was already old and advanced in years. The three oldest sons of Jesse had followed Saul to the battle and the names of his three sons who went to the battle, what Elian, the firstborn and next to Emma been adapted and the third Shema.

David was the youngest of three elders followed Saul, but David went back and forth from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem for 14 days. The Philistine came forward and took a stand morning and evening and Jesse said to David is on tape for your brothers and the father of this parts. These downloads and cutting them quickly to the camp to your brothers and also take these five cheeses to the commander of the thighs and see if your brothers are well and bring some token from them, my soul and the and all the men of Israel went in the Valley of Ila fighting with the Philistines.

David was only the morning and left a sheep with a keeper to the provisions and went as Jesse had commanded him and he came to the encampment of the list was going out to the battle line show during the war cry and Israel and the Philistines drew up for battle army against Army and David left the things in charge of the keeper of the baggage and ran to the ranks and went and greeted his brothers as he talked with them bold, the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name came up out of the ranks of the Philistines and spoke the same words as before, and David Harrington all the men of Israel when they saw the man fled from and what and were much afraid, and the men of Israel said you seen this man is come up. Surely he is come up to the fire.

Israel and the king will enrich the man who kills them with great riches and will give them his daughter and make his father's house free and Israel. The taxes verse 26 David said to the man who stood by him.

What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach of Israel, who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God and the people answered him in the same way, so shall it be done to the man who kills him no Elian's oldest brother Herod, when he spoke to the men and nearly up the anger was kindled against David and he said, why have you come dying and with whom of you lefties fuse sheep in the wilderness. I know your presumption and the evil of your heart. You've come dying to see the battle. David said what about an unknown, was it not by the words turned away from him toward another, and spoke in the same way and the people answered him as before. Verse 31, when the words that David spoke what Herod they repeated them before Saul. And he sent for. And David said to Saul, let no man's heart fail because of him.

Your sermon will go up and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, you're not able to go against this Philistine to fight with them for your brother use and he's been a man of war from his youth, but David said to Saul, your servant is to keep sheep for his father when there came a line order bear into the land from his flock. I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth, and if heroes against me.

I called him by his beard and struck him and killed him. Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God. And David said, the Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the line and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hands of this Philistine. Saul said to David go the Lord be with you then.

Saul clothed David with his armor. He took the helm of the bronze of the said and clothed him with a coat of mail and David strapped his sword over his army and he tried in vain to go for he had not tested them. Then David said to so I can't go with these five not tested them so David took them off. Then he took a staff in his hands and chose five smooth stones from the brook. With the many shepherds punch his sling was in his hand and he approached the Philistine and the Philistine moved toward him and came near to David with his shield better in front of him, and when the Philistine looked and saw David. He disdained them 40 was whether use the ruddy on the handsome in appearance. The Philistine said to David, the mad dog that you come to me with sticks. The Philistine cursed David by his gods.

The Philistine said to David come to me now give your flesh to the birds of the air, and to the beasts of the field and David said to the Philistine, you come to me with a sergeant with a spirit with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied this day the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I will strike you down and cut off your head, and I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air into the wild beasts of the art that all the artist may know that there is a God in Israel and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear for the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into my hands into our hands. Verse 48, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to me, David.

David ran quickly toward the battle line to be the Philistine and David put his hand in his bag to go to stone and slung it instructed Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead and he fell on his face to the ground so David prevailed over the Philistine with the sling and with his stone and struck the Philistine and killed him.

There was also the hand of David. Then David ran ensued over the Philistine took his sword and truth are to be sheath and killed him at the office, and with it when the Philistine saw that the champion was that they fled the men of Israel and Judah rose with a shout and pursue the Philistines as far as Gath, and the gates of Corona so that the wounded Philistines fell on the way from a shot REM as far as Gath and growing the people of Israel came back from chasing the Philistines and they plundered their camp and David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in this tent as soon as Saul saw David guard against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the commander of the Army Abner son is this youth, Abner said as your soul lives. Oh, okay. I don't know. And the king said inquired was on the ball is in the soon as David returned from the striking dying of the Philistine. Abner took him and brought him before Paul with the head of the Philistine in his hands and Saul said to him, son. Are you young man and David answered on the son of your servant Jesse.

The Bethel might is that quite story for Samuel chapter 17. Here David's leadership as the future King of Israel is demonstrated by the writer for Samuel wants us to understand throat for Samuel. The marked contrast between Saul and David were thinking this morning of the difference between living in the flash of living in the spirit is a good example.

Saul is a man of the flesh, living according to the flesh. David is a man filled with the spirit [chapter 16 for Samuel 16 result couple of weeks ago. The anointing of David by Samuel for Samuel 16 verse 13 then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him, and that in the midst of his brothers and the spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward and Samuel rose up and went to grandma the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and then evil spirit from the Lord tormented him and that contrast between these two important men. Saul the first Kagan David, the greatest king of Israel continues throughout. For Samuel from a human perspective. Saul is a very impressive individual head and shoulders above everyone else. He is the People's choice, but he's not God's choice member. The Lord said to Samuel, for Samuel 16 verse seven.

Man looks on the outward appearance, but God searches the heart, and because of Saul's disobedience is arrogant disobedience. God rejects him as king of Israel, and David is anointed by Samuel is the future King of Israel, that wasn't wrong for Israel to have a king, you look back at Deuteronomy 17 versus 14 to 20 to see that. But here's a pint. The Lord was to choose the king not people Israel insisted they wanted a king would back to first Samuel chapter 8, first Samuel chapter 8 here of the people and their complaining and not at all happy and Samuel the godly profit is very frustrated with them for Samuel eight verse 19 but the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel. And they said no but there shall be a king over us, but notice the reasoning for verse 20 that we also may be like all the nations that sound familiar, the people of God, wanting to be like the pagan nations. Instead of being distinct instead of being a light instead of being salt as our Lord Jesus is not a tendency in our flash to be like other people to adopt the mindset on the fashions in the thinking of the world. That's Israel they want to king but the Lord should've chosen the king, but the reason they want to king is to be like the nations.

Verse 20 and I don't king may judge us and go out before us and fight battles so you get your king Saul.

I know that is a battle to be fought, but it is great king that you have is that you've chosen this large man whose head and shoulders above everyone else. A very impressive individual, very strong, very capable, I'm sure. But where is he, if anyone is going to tackle Goliath. It is to be the king your point thinking, so that he will go out and fight your battles. But as we read when the challenge comes when this monster of a man.

Goliath stands before the people what is happening to Paul to Saul rather related in verse 11 of four Samuel 17 when Saul and all Israel had these words of the Philistine they were dismayed and greatly afraid that so when it comes to the pints he doesn't act according to his responsibility as king and being the commander of the Israeli army. Even to this day they lead the commanders lead right on France. There the first into battle delete and that's what it is that's what Saul should've done but his lack of leadership is lack of moral authority is shown here at 14 days. Did you notice how often the Philistine showed in morning and evening, for 40 days he challenged the Israelites to put their best man and we will fight 40 days Saul had to ask God for guidance for strength for victory 14. The Bible is the number of testing and Saul failed the test along with the Lord Jesus in the wilderness facing another giant the devil alone was in the wilderness 40 days, and Saul tries to delegate the responsibility and even is prepared to bribe the man who volunteers to fight against Goliath, something he himself should've done. If you go to find you to marry my daughter and no taxes should be to be a free man. He is afraid. But David's young David. We don't know exactly how he was was a novice is going.

He tells Saul that don't forget, I know about tests. I've passed the test. So David has faith. Goliath is 9 feet, 6 inches. Saul is tall but Goliath is a monster and when it comes to the point so but Blackstone now. Did you notice Saul when David comes through Saul, and says he's prepared to go into battle against Goliath Saul first tries to dissuade him by saying what you just the youth, and Goliath has been a man of war from his youth. Goliath is a season, water, and he's a veteran, even in many, many wars you're just a novice your your youth. You can handle it. And David says no. I can like I can go.

This is something I'm going to do and then Saul tries to close David with his armor so that he'll be like to live Saul's arm but of course doesn't fit. David is not as tall as so and David's redlines is not on his armor, but on God.

Saul was looking at Glide's outward appearance, which was large which was scary, which seemed an insuperable enemy. David's eyes were not so much in life, but was on his God is important lesson for us here at Calvary is in the for the work of the Lord at Calvary must be done in the Lord's way.

According to the Lord's one of the Lord's work.

Paul tells us that we are not to wage war. According to the flesh in second Corinthians 12 that spiritual warfare requires spiritual weapons whether the spiritual weapons, whether the divine weapons of the Christian.

What is the armor of the Christian read it in Ephesians 6 is the shield of faith is the helmet of the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation. This is the start of the spirit. This is what we go to when we fight against the enemy. We take these spiritual weapons in prayer. New Testament says what. Everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.

And this is the victory that has overcome the world. Our faith first John five verse four we could write that over four Samuel 17.

Here is a man of faith against all of the arts seemingly hopeless and he demonstrates the power of God is not in mighty things, but is in the week and finding the mighty I think of David's preparation. Because of this a couple of weeks ago, but the shepherd boy of first Samuel 16 is being prepared to be the mighty King warning of Israel. David is being prepared to be the greatest king of Israel.

He's been called by God he's been anointed by God's and no, he's going to be put to the test. One day David gets up and seems to be daylight government. Everyone every other day in his life.

His father says while your brothers are fighting against the Philistines and with Saul, I want to take to take some provisions want to date you take these cheese for the commanders I can you go and so David makes that track to the battlefield. Just another day when he got up that morning. He had no idea dictate that he was going to be facing one of the most important days of his life. But the wonderful thing is David's was ready tomorrow could be one of the most significant days of your life and maybe one of the best of your life, or maybe one of the worst.

Maybe that God gives you tremendous challenge, or maybe very routine and maybe you got some exhilarating user you get some terrible dues when we get on the morning we never know what the day is going to be doing. But this will end this morning, every day.

Yes, every single day I'm to also work with works of darkness and to live according to the spirit and not according to the flash. Paul tells us that the mind of God knows the word of God so that he is equipped for every good work and David as he left Bethlehem as he left the sheep with someone else and is made that track to the Valley of the left. He didn't know what was going to happen, but he knew his God, and you knew that God was with him.

Did you notice how his brothers dismissed him. I know about sarcastic dismissive brothers reviewed the large family. You know what it is that you live. If you're one of the younger ones. These brothers dismissed him.

David Deming did you leave these few sheep with what do you know about battle babbling away man get back to your sheep leave the Bradley the cheese and disappear. They reminded them his or youth, they were more seasoned warriors yes but none of his brothers was prepared to fight against Goliath 27 God of course you do. Everyone here I'm sure tonight once to be used by God.

Scripture is teaching us and we know this from other passages than those whom God calls God tests when going through the nomination process at Calvary for nominations for elders and deacons New Testament as Paul is writing about elves and deacons. He tells his joints like novices, no deacon is going to be tested. Don't put a man in a position of leadership who has not been tested who is not proved himself in ministry before hands. If you do that the individual is going to be conceited if you put someone in a position of leadership in never never been tested and that a novice going to get a flathead and God always as opposed to the private but the thing I thought of this nature. When you serve God humbly was always a critic is here. It was his own family saw these brothers who were there and you had been anointed by Samuel whatever they thought of that, you might've thought that they would have sent now is this not the test. This is God's anointed. This is the future King David went with you were going to be on our knees praying to Almighty God. As you go for battle.

But no, they criticized him they demean them there sarcastic when you serve God. That is a critic.

Sometimes we desire to be concise. Other times we don't.

Don't be discouraged. Wonderful that if it didn't listen to his brothers and go back to Bethany. As I got this wrong, though he knew that God was calling him you see the individual who is truly called by God will stand strong in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ's some of you here have served at Calvary for many many years and is not always easy. Some of you have been leadership some of you serve the children's ministry for many years others you have of you have been feeding the homeless for four years serving in all kinds of ministry and you know, day after day week after week. It isn't easy but you're not to be discouraged because of some critic or because some brother or sister say something against you, stand strong. Learn from David because David's concern was not to receive the praise of his brothers that were his concern to the gone home you're looking for constant affirmation. Joel was on the packet they pat on the back, you're going to go home. David's focus was on the glory of God. Notice verse 26's response when he first hears about Goliath. I love this.

David said to the man who stood by him. What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach of Israel notices phone who is this heavy describes him on circumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God.

I see David knew David must've been taught well by his father or Samuel or someone, or the priest. He used a special relationship God had with Israel through the Abraham it covenant was the signing of Abraham it covenant circumcision. This man was uncircumcised. He was God's enemy. He knew that he was uncircumcised. He knew that he wasn't part of the Abraham it covenant.

Also, Goliath is defying. David says the armies of the living God that may have been David from bathroom that this was the first time in his life that he had ever had anyone blaspheme that you never had anyone break the third commandment, taking the name of the Lord in vain in this righteous young man who knows his God, who knows the history of Israel describes this man is uncircumcised and defying the armies of God and he is prepared to go to battle. Most young men are concerned about themselves. The reputation that ambitions and friendships the future but David seeks the defeat of this uncircumcised Philistines, not for his own reputation. You see this versus 46 and 47. Let me read them again.

These are magnificent words verse 46 this day the Lord will deliver you into my hand that I will strike you down and cut off your head and don't get the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air, and to the wild beasts of the why are you going to do that.

David is the reason that all the arts. We know that there is a God in Israel and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear for the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into our hand is not magnificent is concerned about what is concerned about the glory of God doesn't want the nation to fall into bad reputation is that decimated by these Philistines. He wants the glory of God and he has such strong faith in God that he knows God is going to give him a victory was at that this young man could stand against this Goliath when the King Saul when all of the veteran warriors are there when they're afraid. What was different about David while he was a man after God's own heart wasn't David is a man who knows God.

He spent time with God on the hills outside by Fenwick after the sheep. A man who knew about solitude man who had experience God. The man who knew the word of God so that he knows this man is uncircumcised and the man who trusts God and the young man who had seen God at work in his own life. Do you notice his words of faith. The Lord will deliver me. Verse 46 from the hand of the Philistines this day the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I will strike you down and cut off your head New Testament speaks of the faith which overcomes the world of faith which trust God for the impossible of faith which triumphs over the invincible of faith against which no opposition consent. Now ask all of you want to serve God. I know you do.

Have you seen God at work first hand, but if you're like me you have God leave your godly parents, grandparents, you come from a wonderful heritage. You may part of a church like Calvary for four years and you've heard stories from your parents from mission raise from pastors from people in your life group of how God has worked in their life and you have experience from them. You've heard about God's work. You've heard about God answering prayer. You've heard testimony after testimony of people who have said, I called upon the Lord in this and in this impossible situation God acted but have you seen firsthand God at work have you specific situations using God do something that you could never possibly do in your own strength.

How is it that David knew verse 47 that the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into our hand. Could he speak with such authority, with such clarity with such confidence with such faith. This was an out against this wasn't presumption. This was a young man who knew his God young man who'd experienced this is going to say to saw a young man who the experience. The high-end of God in the past know for Samuel 17 is not primarily about the cottage of David as David was a courageous man the truth, with the passages about the greatness of God. But God is demonstrating that this young man who really knew and no one knew about shepherds and bathroom. The younger son, possibly even the smallest of these eight brothers that this David you have in his God takes him and equips him and gives him experience of him and raises him up to demonstrate that this is a man after my own heart in here and for Samuel 17. There is a demonstration that David is going to be the worthy king of Israel.

David is fairly God centered in his life. As I was. As we were reading the passage, then you know this over and over again that David is focus on God, not himself. He's focus on God some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord of our God. Some 20 verse 17. What is your trust in yourself and your accomplishments so trust at Calvary. In this cohort as we serve him on his blessed this incredibly given us many gifted people wonderful things at Calvary bar trust can never be in ourselves, but in God. Moses used his staff in the parting of the Red Sea seems foolish, didn't it waving a staff at sea.

David uses a sling and the stone the fight life would Lord had given David as a humble Shepherd.

He now uses for the glory of God and for the vindication of the reputation of God among the nations. Each one of us here if we are true followers of Christ is a particular background tolerance gifts, personality, upbringing abilities were all very different. But God uses what we have in our hands as we surrender all to him.

A staff sling is stone little boy with five loaves and two fish. But what what why talk about that. That's just a crumb. We got 5000 people you go away little boy in your own lunch but in the hands of God. He takes the staff he takes the sling. He takes the stone. He takes the five loaves and fishes and he multiplies that because in his hands in the hands of God. The least is much you probably know shepherds here with Richard backgrounds. Someone asked me that this week and said said to be pastor was it. Is it difficult to get a picture that you were once a lawyer.

I'm thinking no, I said. In fact, I believe that's part of who I am the God called me in the legal profession and that any sovereign purposes. Some of that training. Some of these experiences can be used for his glory. As I served I was a pastor what you backgrounds who are you is a well I'm I'm I'm very insignificant. David was very insignificant. God loves to take insignificant people. In fact, he specializes in that week because he calls Paul says, not the mighty know the great because the weekly calls of the spies he calls people who are nonentities of people don't use bills and with a sweater that he does.

David is an idea but I want you to go and kill that life. David says yes I go because I go in the name of the Lord of hosts use by faith. All you have.

When I was a little boy growing up, I thought, every mission I was a preacher. Now I realize that God uses people in IT and linguistics in medicine and education in all of these things is is no want you to use that for your glory with its overseas or whether it is right here in Charlotte for his purposes that were about to break bread.

Let me just say that David is of course and have it illustrated here in first Samuel 17 David is a type of the Lord Jesus Christ is at a couple of weeks ago that when Matthew begins his gospel. He says in Matthew one verse one the book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham first mentioned as the son of David throughout the Gospels we hear Jesus being called by even beggars and others are the son of David, as indeed he was, he's David's greater son and David is the outstanding type of our Lord Jesus Christ. Both David and the Lord were born in Bethlehem. David is anointed by the prophet Samuel, our Lord Jesus the Messiah. The truly anointed one is anointed by the Holy Spirit to remember at the end of Matthew three and that amazing thing on the river Jordan John baptizes Jesus in the cards open and the father says is the spirit descends on his son.

This is my son, my well beloved, in whom I am well pleased. David was a man after God's own heart, David, as we know as we know, was far from perfect. But here is the perfect son, here is David's greater son after their anointing. They both face a tremendous trial. David faces Goliath's huge mind, seemingly impossible to defeat the nuns of the part of God without little stone. David kills life life threatened the people of Israel for 40 days. Our Lord Jesus was tempted for 40 days in the wilderness by Satan.

David defeats the attic and live our Lord Jesus Christ defeated a greater folding live a more formidable foe. The devil himself seen of the woman crush the head of the serpent. Paul says in Colossians 215 because our Savior disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame by triumphing over than in the him. Why did David cut off the man's head to show off for the but I don't know if it demonstrates that the man was dead, and to demonstrate that no one is going to defy the armies of the living God to show to everyone that the victory was the Lord and in the mighty redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ as he dies for our sins and he's very dizzy triumphs. Paul says he put the photos to open shame. John says, first John three verse eight. The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

And just as no one other than David was find able to defeat Goliath sold no one other than our Lord Jesus Christ was fighting to defeat Satan member that wonderful cry by the angel in Revelation 7, Revelation 5, who is worthy to open the scroll and to break it, seal that cry that goes throughout the universe who is able to open the scroll, the answer in one of the elders said to me, John. Wait no more bold the line of the tribe of Judah are the root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and the seven seals. And you know the story thing from Revelation is King David drooled over Judah.

So the line of the tribe of Judah of David, our Savior himself will rule and reign not just over Israel, but will remain as King of Kings and Lord of lords. He will establish the throne of his kingdom forever seemed utterly foolish tinted that the young man with a stone in the sling could could go into battle against Goliath and defeated it seems foolish. The world doesn't it still seems foolish through the message of the cross. The scandal of the cross that through that seemingly foolish and defeated the fact that the wisdom of God and the power of God is demonstrated in this Israel rejoice as we read that the defeat of glides we the people of God as we did this morning and continue to do, rejoice at the time for about great sage of the Messiah of the root and offspring of David, who not only conquered Satan and sin and death, but rose from the dead, and is eternally alive. Make sure you know Christ as your Savior, and a follower of Christ learn from David trust God for the impossible. One impossible situation.

Do you have in your life.

I don't know what it is but will face from the way don't take the weapons of the world. Don't depend on yourself would humbly come to God. No giant is too big no giantess to strong the righteous is Proverbs 28 verse one are bold as a line I don't fear the devil resist them, and he will flee from you.
