The only way they can do anything in these midterms is not to lead by example, not to lead with policy but to stoke the flames of fear. I was listening to a US Senate candidate debate in my home state of Iowa. Three Democrats running two of them are pushing so far to the left to be the progressive choice one continue to use the phrase horrifying to refer to anything Republicans did. It was almost a screed. When I look at what the Republicans will do with X, Y or Z.

It's horrifying really. I'm not really sure it's horrifying sanctity of human life. Yes, that's terrible. That's horrifying etc. etc. the idea is there going to whip up the Republicans as being horrifying while they are the ones doubling down on killing babies and that's what it comes down to that's that's the short of it. All right, fine. Go use that as the issue because as politico notes Reuters is reporting that abortion may not be a winning issue for the Democrat party.

This was a Reuters story where they interviewed 21 women in the northern suburbs of Phoenix. Now that's a key area for the Democrats, this is Mark Kelly CT goes up for full election in November. Mark Kelly is having a whale of a time trying to balance being lockstep with the Democrats while at the same time the Arizona border is so poor as his own constituents are scared to death and and that is clearly where he is where he is having some problems though it's hard to maintain security at home with the federal government. His party, doing what they're doing so in any event, the idea is let's talk to 21 women. This was Reuters doing this all of the 21 women five said they were pro-life and Republican. All right, so there's five that leaves you 16. The other 16 who were interviewed said they were pro-choice or pro-abortion to be more accurate just to of the 16 said that issue. Abortion was the top priority for them voting this November. So let's think about that for a moment.

Here's a sample of 16 suburban women who say they are pro-choice, but only two of them said the issue was the top priority when they are voting half of the 16 were undecided and that speak undecided about who to vote for.

And that's because of concerns about the economy, it's always kitchen table and pocketbook issues. As James Carville so famously and accurately said it's the economy stupid Gallup has shown that people are concerned about paying their monthly bills.

40% of us concerned about paying monthly bills, 52% of us concerned about maintaining our current standard of living more than 1/3 concerned about paying the rent or the mortgage 22% concerned about any loan payments on credit cards almost 2/3 worried about having enough money for retirement. That's all financial stuff. So while the people in the ivory towers in Washington while the people in the swamp. The big cities on the coasts where they set rules for you that they don't have to follow.

They believe abortion is there issue demonizing Republicans, that's their issue, but it seems like the disconnect between the swamp and the rest of us just continues to grow we care about supporting our families about putting food on the table about having a good job.

In other words, making our own way in the world as opposed to government providing it for us. This is not just a disconnect were not even speaking the same language were not even the same time zone.

Because these people cannot conceive of why you would want to go out and do this for yourself because why wouldn't you want us the powerful and government to provide for you. I don't know maybe because it is entirely contrary to the entire human experience. So Nancy Pelosi wants to tell her Democrat candidates in Congress double down on demonizing Republicans and raise the abortion issue. You know what, go ahead. I'll take those odds because the Republican candidates if they talk about pocketbook issues. If they talk about the economy. If they talk about the things that matter to Americans, then yes, even with cheating.

I WAS STRUCK BY THE FACT THAT THE NIGHT AND THEN THE SECOND NIGHT AFTER THE DECISION THAT MIGHT OVERTURN ROE VERSUS WADE THAT DRAFT DECISION WAS RELEASED A WEEK AGO LAST NIGHT YOU HAVE SOME PROTESTERS AT THE SUPREME COURT, BUT I NOTICED THE LEAST. IT APPEARED TO ME THAT THE BEST THEY COULD DO THE NATIONAL FORMALLY MAINSTREAM MEDIA WHEN THEY SHOWED UP AT THIS WOULD SAY THERE ARE THESE STRIDENT PROTESTERS AND IT WAS LIKE A DOZEN YOU KNOW THEY COULD'VE GOTTEN THE TABLE IN A RESTAURANT AND NOT BEEN TOO CROWDED AT IT, IT JUST DID NOT SEEM TO BE IN AND THAT'S WHAT MADE ME WONDER WHY ARE THEY NOT PROTESTING AT THE CORAL.

OBVIOUSLY THE IDEA WAS TO GO RIGHT IN FRONT OF JUSTICES HOMES. IS THERE A LONG GAME. DO YOU FEAR THAT IS GOING TO LEAD TO THE KIND OF LACK OF CIVILITY AT THE VERY LEAST THAT WE HAVE SEEN DEMONSTRATED OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS WITH THOSE ON THE LEFT. DO YOU THINK THAT IT BEGAN ELECTION THAT IT DID IN THEIR AGREEMENT THAT GIVE THEMHARBORED NO PLACE THAT THEY CAN FEEL COMFORTABLE ABOUT THE LEFT APPROACH TO THE RIGHT, RADICAL LEFT TO RIGHT IN AMERICA. IT DOESN'T MATTER. THE ISSUE IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER BLACK LIVES MATTER THAT WAS BURNING DOWN OUR CITY OR WHETHER IT'S AN ABORTION ISSUE OR WHETHER IT TRUNK OR JUST THE NEXT REPUBLICAN POLITICIAN LACKING THE ABILITY VEHICLE LEVEL OF DISCOURSE PROMOTED BY THE AMERICAN LEFT IN THE GOODNESS DOWN THIS IMPORTANT NOT PLAYING WELL WITH THE AVERAGE AMERICAN NOT REPUBLICAN, DEMOCRAT, AND WE STARTED THIS PROGRAM BY TALKING ABOUT SPEAKER PELOSI DOUBLING DOWN ON THE ABORTION ISSUE TO DEMOCRATS RUNNING FOR CONGRESS, BASICALLY SAYING THAT'S THE ISSUE TO RUN ON BUT YOU HAD INTERVIEWS WITH VOTERS SUGGEST THEY CARE MUCH MORE ABOUT HIGH GAS PRICES AND WHAT IT COST TO GO TO THE GROCERY STORE SO AGAIN FURTHER EVIDENCE OF THE DISCONNECT AS YOU DO THE GRASSROOTS WORK. WHAT ARE THE KEY ISSUES THAT PEOPLE HAVE ON THEIR MINDS. YOUR REGULAR DRIVING AROUND IN YOUR CAR IN YOUR TANK WITH GAS AND BY GRACE.
