Everybody welcome back as rich as a show basketball podcast here on Wednesday. We are in July 20 rapine zero. The guys TJ and Adam fellows will tap going to see you guys you know is not a lot of the NBA stuff, going on right now. So what is going to kinda bang out a quick pod and talk about a few things that have kinda been on my mind. Our minds, collective minds here in the basketball world.

I saw this today I wanted.

What this first before we get the Lebron of the druid which I want to talk about to see anniversary one year ago today because of the way the season worked the last couple years in your basement weird COBIT and then shortened season. So it's talk about this box title a year later think is a few my friends are box fans and they were talking about this morning. I really started to look at it and then I think for me it's the 50 points doesn't happen every day in the NBA finals. I made we have to walk I don't know how many time to tap and had to been just a handful, but when I think I got us and especially last year and what he was going through at the foul line during the playoffs the 17 of 19 was just in hindsight, that is just so ridiculous and crazy when I think about him as a player and where he was last to every. The fans were counting down how many seconds the shots they were telling teams to stop doing the countdowns on it to get Brooklyn they were putting the numbers on the day and were counting down her face or I just think and hit it. You know, we look back on this.

This is going to age so well when Llamas finishes his career.

How great he was in the NBA finals knows him alive for Magic Johnson's 1980. Close all performance us all pretty much every Michael Jordan championship final since I've seen Lebron and you know on the biggest Michael Jordan thing in the world but that the artists close all performance was the greatest close all performance I've ever seen, by far. It was so incredible, he just took it over. Overall, the series so it was truly unbelievable to watch and Llamas went to another level in that series is thing to TJ about it is he had that really weird, awkward injury against Atlanta in the Eastern conference finals number he fell funny and he, hyperextended his knee. Oh yeah, and everyone was like oh my, oh my God Jan is just blood his knee.

He's out for the playoffs.

He's gonna miss basically all of next season and this guy who is becoming like you just at Superman, before our eyes in this playoffs.

Is he really had a dominant playoff beginning his numbers against Brooklyn the series before it in the second round were just ridiculous. 6 to 7 games over 33/30 points and then he's miraculously only out to games against the against the Hawks and then somehow plays in the NBA finals game one scores 20 points and then afterward goes 4241 2632 and 50 as they come back.

It was just unbelievable to just what's crazy about that is at halftime. The only points he had halftime I have a look at the actual box. Now it's 17 and have to have all the lenses 77 points in the second quarter. He was three or five. Not bad. 10 in the first of you know what was issued in the first three or five so he was fairly consistent but nothing going in the halftime that would've given you any indication what was what was common.

You know, that's amazing.

And oh yeah oh yeah looking at the line score now so Milwaukee had a huge lead 29 to 16 and then Phoenix was actually up at halftime. They scored 31 they outscored Milwaukee 3113 in sequential order and then just got us just absolutely took over the second half and you E you think someone puts up a 50 piece right they scored a team scores what 125 130 something like that, especially in today's NBA were scores are outrageous hundred five points half the points that is close out Amarillo when the finals the books the Milwaukee Bucks in the closeout game of the finals played 12345678 players, 612345 of them scored that 591 of their starters. I mean what I came in the next day it was like he's getting better than it came to me like all the sudden that's now that the narrative on this guy that he could suddenly be a top what eight player all time daily. When his team get brought into this like a cancer centered on this is a power forward like how I may just seem like rain and the pick of all people do look I was looking at guys who we consider BL top 10 all time seems kind of been there two championships and greatest defender of all time, arguably end which is what Llanos might be.

I mean, you could make the case got a should when defensive player of the year every year that I got the guy wakes up and has 12 rebounds and three blocks. I just think you know it's the year anniversary an hour talk about this guys Beano could suddenly be somehow an all-time great. I think that's fair. I love your honesty is one of my favorite non-Celtic players in the league right now it's without question. I will love the guy is incredibly likable because he came from nothing. He came from selling trinkets on the street in Greece had no money had nothing.

Nobody really knew about him except for advanced scouts.

He seemingly came out of nowhere, is one of the greatest stories in NBA history so likable. He is friendly is outgoing, cool families are two other brothers in the NBA will probably let's be honest only in the NBA because her brothers, Llanos, MD totally okay with that. Now you gotta I know the answer before I asked the question, but does it make me a super hater that I'm hung up on the fact that a team with two NBA superstars. Only one by two point some some really yeah it does behave like to care. It's like some really deep seas never played with those guys. He never played with him. It's a summer league game like you said the competition.

These are chumps out there not jobs, not in class and I get like you the greatest player in the world but you stepped on the court when no one's play with you my gently Lebron passes just bounced off a guys hands could not use the ball here. My hands, but I read that much heat.

Yeah, he's got a whip that. So now I went out I would say no that's not right. The first thing I thought of.

I guess all the highlights as it was happening. I did watch a little bit. I think NBA.com was, live streaming, it was funny. One guy was just was standing the whole time right.

Obviously this SROs in high school gym and but the camera that NBA.com was using was posted up kind of in the like.

The last row and it is time to head know this guy's head was in the middle of the court whole time they were doing this with the camera and this is the back of this guys head the whole time camera that shot put the camera in the state get a shot publicly, but some just put up for the People were waiting from 8 AM to get into the game were well guarded. I like to in the afternoon so I sigh some of the highlights obviously cool abroad doing Lebron stuff, you expect even those can be 38 or whatever but score like the wind by two especially having to Rosen went back to what you have to NBA All-Star is the same thing, what I thought about an instant famous magical exit like that guy never quits molecular religion.

I don't know the word I would use this point is absurd, absurd, using legend, like what I understand, like I know you think it's funny I got honest to God.

I really really don't. He's just doing the thing. I mean like he is entered. Wow, it's like okay you been doing the thing for €18.

No guys arguably work is the absolute worst greatest player in the history of this part. Okay maybe it might be Scott 15 ever right to ever walk this planet to play basketball and it might be too low and cook to say I think it's safe to say those guys you did make the NBA but you got a guy in the history of mankind, men or women who played this game better in all the student does is just as ridiculous a comedy.

Like when you say joke. The first is funnier than you say joke over and over again for the Letterman will not 20 and then eventually becomes funny again. I subscribe to the rule.

Time becomes funny again and I don't yeah I just feel like skip is ridiculous with his like Lebron hate it's it's all utterly amazing to try to like and also I'm glad it's funny to me. I'm always trying to like bring this man down the brightness and more pressure on him as an applicant, any other person in the history of the planet when it comes to invisible when it comes to that time when he became famous and all eyes were on the didn't have Michael Jordan AAU Charles Barkley arrives and we all. I spend Lebron a lot because I used to be this way with Kobe because he played for the Lakers. I just like Kobe Lakers got to a point where I was like man you love basketball and you are just truly missing out on some great basketball because you hate the little bit slick skills commitments of the bit though to be honest I think I read a weird way. I respect that. I just don't think I like the guy that eventually find nothing I like him at all, but the bid is like this is like you're still going on, but asserted that point at this point in time. So that's about it to things if I used his like crap and on the other some really good way. A sit staff and you can start on us heading into this season actually think that you're right. What I know that really hurt me to say let's talk this out with my ways and that's the only like what is our criteria here. Is it like who we think has the best chance to win the title start bench cut or just like player were taking like MVP year. They really hadn't said anything when we just said coming into the season start bench. I think like I think I think if Chris Middleton doesn't get hurt.

I think I am. I'm far removed enough from the finals to say honestly. The bucks by when the title staff was the MVP of the season for what the first like 30 games last year, something like that bolded first and obviously love Luca. He's walking you to be a superduper star when it's all said and done, I think he will win a title but I don't think the maps are set up to want to title coming into the season thinker. I want us to just talk about it. Is it just depends where you put Kobe right, I really haven't because it's because how how can you really, really save it like I don't know that good ops I can save it. Steph surpassed Michael Cooper right I can say this step is just like great players.

You can say like Jill Dumars was a great place that's better when you get into that upper upper upper 1% like of the 1% it's very it's like moving parts around if I put you at 10 and you have a guy three. It's very easy to switch those around like so no surpassed Kobe of what went just edges all-time greatness. As you know how I'll take off the hook and I'll say I'm a say no. I must say no if you will just look at the accolades right. First off Kobe to to two-time finals MVP night was a big deal that Steph finally got his first year and everything it kind of separates I think for me, like two-time MVP Kobe was only MVP once of the regular season okay but defensively Kobe's of 12 time all defensive player that's a different back I was gonna lock you down and take it personally and you still going to get that working at yours and then he was to do it. On the other end. This wasn't like a Bruce Bowen situation. Or Patrick.

Beverly is going to check you down defensively going to be six exactly he's going to shut you down and then he's getting a 34 on the other end and to let you know where is Steph Curry. My weight has never been a defender that would give a lot better definitively given Craig Fisher sure no never made it all the team is never made all defensive team all NBA player eight times obviously mad respect great shooter of all time great shooter of all time to back to back MVPs.

I think that's a huge deal All-Star game MVPs. Obviously, whatever that 12 time all defensive team for me. I think just keeps Kobe ahead of him. Also five titles sure two-time finals MVP in the 12 time all defensive with you. Put Kobe with the put stuff in your top 10 are not totally financial have step 10. Have him.

Nine. Kobe better be that one slot ahead of him. This interest group that I believe that Steph has had a greater impact on the culture of basketball in terms of the way the game is played with everybody shooting threes, but in terms of an overall player.

Kobe is better. I just can't see how there be an argument that he is not better than stuff with the overall game. Like you say with the defense that such a thing that is not taken a single thought. I will not take us out at all. I just say thank just that little particle little big deal part of Kobe's game just keeps him keeps ahead of him. For now, like I can mean getting lucky. Steph could rattle off several extreme or reexam exactly never getting 12 of these 12, all defensive. But you're right if like Steph place simply six more years in the warrior somehow into more titles and he's when finals MVP both times will have to do the damn we are really going to have to have a real conversation about whether he is past Kobe Bryant. That would be six titles 00 all overall ties in with Mike three finals MVPs, Lord, we really have to have a copy here for sure you know, I know, for as much as I say I don't like this, but I do love it because I look back I do. I do love the comparison. I just feel like it's just so hard to really like it. We can put a top 10 list right and are all going to be different but they're all good to be right because that's how we think about what really because like I said if you have a team in your top 10 in someone else's Moses Malone there's like all these guys are top of the top so I am very conflicted with the guys like that hurt here's one for you we can get out of this down to Steph stuff game seven ME finals call Reno ball to top of the key Korean it's Kobe or staff who you want taken last shot for your life for my life Steph stuff really is been some Kobe now going to go like if I need one shot to go.

Steph is one of maybe five people I be comfortable with my life with and that I mean.

But here's the thing. Nobody wants that moment more than stuff but don't make the shot. Not doubting that he wants it for sure he wanted. He wants that situation.

He wants a ball he want he was a team just to be down just so he could take a shot like that to potentially tie the game or when it or send it to the line and one elbow jumper fade away and one bucket. This stuff doesn't have too many gaming shots.

As you know is if you been nothing like a crazy amount to nothing nothing while he sticks out but but but I just thinks that this such a great shooter that for my life on the line. It's Kobe obviously was a really good cheer phenolics. The fumbling stuff is trusting.
