This independent study language inserted into a contractor, Marissa H-shell who ordered the independent study code shall gel to calm down now.

There were three of the rich doesn't show is on the air right here on NBC Sports on Peacock and NBC Sports audio Sirius XM channel 85 is terrestrial radio network of friends and families, and affiliates from coast-to-coast the Odyssey.

We are thrilled always to be joined by our podcast listeners. If you miss anything YouTube.com/which doesn't show for all that good stuff Chris brought out a news update prepared. Right now, but it's been preempted and preempted by Kyler Murray press conference that based on all accounts on the old machine was impromptu. He's had enough of people talking about the independent study clause in his contract.

Once again, Murray getting what I thought was something he deserved being generationally enriched after just three years in the NFL, which is been something reserved for a select few Patrick homes Josh Allen most recently right and it's dicey as if I'm not mistaken, Goss and Wentz got new contracts real early to and we all know they wound up getting traded, but it helps the team to get in early two because right now Josh Allen at 45 million years. Joe Banner, our second, our guest pointed out is kind of an annually paid basis. Bargain right now and so getting while the getting is good. And Kyler Murray got a wall while he could.

After just three years and he still hasn't won a playoff game yet, but we saw the terms the contract on an annual basis. The second best paid at Joe Banner said of his money from the first three years of his new years on new money on the contract. It's a terrific deal and again he is incredibly talented and as I said it was his turn to get paid. And if you think that he's not worth it.

Too bad that's the way it works in the NFL and now the pressure will be on him and that's the way it was until we learned about an independent study closet is contracted.

I've never heard of in any contract for any athlete, let alone one that you're paying $160 million guaranteed to write or my gosh were basically said he's got to four hours of every week that they play a game you get on a team issue tablet with no other second screams can play video games or watch TV shows minutes literally expressly put into a contract in black-and-white that you must prove that you are studying outside of the building on the D team approved tablet with no second screams stuff that I tell my children like your on your iPad. You can't watch TV in the iPad the same time get off of one of choose one you know it if you don't do your homework you don't get your allowance for dessert. In his case. Dessert is a guaranteed contract right and so I said you know it's time to grow up is the phrase that I used for Kyler Murray because with this information along with a quote that he told the New York Times last year that he was blessed with cognitive skills to just go out there and see it before it happened. So I'm not one of those guys that's going to sit there and kill myself watching film. I don't sit there for 24 hours and break down this team and that team and watch every game, because in my head I see so much so, with that quote on top of a Sports Illustrated cover talking about how athletes and videogames are becoming one of the same. He's he's playing video games on the front cover of Sports Illustrated Marriott altogether and that's why I had to take that I had all the pushback is beginning Zach Kurtz backing his quarterbacks placing I don't see he doesn't know our offense or the opposing teams defense. I don't see it. I'm sure that's what you will hear nonstop from his teammates and his coach basically said I don't feel the need to have to monitor any of my players outside of the building. Study time there professionals and to get ready will we know, regards, any step the podium, and this is what he had to say on all the talk about his independent study clause in his contract is a serious as all this is all is the so called flow must serve as a safe as is is is also so is all is always a you is yours, will I is as soon as this is as awesome as is right. I detect no lies not right. I understand that I totally get him saying that it's disrespectful as it is, but it's in their assigned. Why if everything was fine from management's point of view, why did why did the right begin my my bro who is the best lawyer I know.

He's like the language in there is blunt it's it's blunt so there's no ambiguity about what the team is looking for which is your starting extra time so the question is why was it in their and Kyler Murray was asked if he feels it was disrespectful for to be in there and get out?

As is question is a word is whether the Lord is is is a size is as you say in all this is so is pleased and talking about it and that's great. Now it comes time for them to play Tony's now officially one of the top five most pressure on them although he's made in the shade on his contract.

Why was it in their that's all you know why is it in there.

I honestly had zero thoughts about his work ethic after he signed the contract and then Ms. contract clause comes out which means the management team had to feel compelled the owner whomever had to feel compelled enough to task the lawyers to come up with this language as you all know I've been involved in many negotiations recently and the back-and-forth is tiring. It's tiring and it wears on you. It's just like can we get this thing done you not want to stay and I know you like me to stay, so can we just come to something fair and just put a piece of paper and what should be done with it is to waste your time.

It's a waste of my let's go so that had to sit there and had to be in front of Kyler Murray and explain him you sign this and he might've been just like I do this anyway.

Until this stuff comes out.

Why was it that someone knows why was it in their goods when we sign this contract. What I say. My first opinion was.

He deserves a deserve. Okay good on him, but he deserves it, and what in the Arizona Cardinals going to walk you let him walk right and so then I walk over this, but they definitely wouldn't. It seems sign it.

Without this clause in their which is why I said what I said and yeah I do think he's that incredibly talented. He is that incredibly talented.

That's why the Cardinals bounce this witchcraft choice and overall from the year before and bounce the coach wanted on their consulate to get a coach who could be paired with him and set him up for success but some happened and when that happened, I just went back to this quote from the New York Times and team together and that's why said what I said.

So now I just want to know why it's in there and even Joe Banner just to revisit what he said an hour to that sticks with me. He said like tying this to the bonus money means nothing because for that actually really stick you got the condo like that's the play to actually make this whole thing stick and you not to cut them ever so why have anything in their when we what what is the purpose of what is the purpose like how did it happen and why of course were to sit there and think his work ethic is less than get the contract that you signed for your money is including this from the team.

So now it's open answered asked and answered. He's dominant now is on football questions. I think he handled that expertly. If you handled his moment at the Super Bowl before being drafted that well.

I thought he clearly had a plan on what is going to say here and it was well-crafted and terrifically delivered and so you could see was bothered by but he said with a smile on his face so now comes the what next and it's on his shoulders and now disco went now just go with. That's now it is now just go with that. I get all of us to stop talking about it. Well, I mean we are done talking about him.

He will make some independent study gags every now and then and I mean like more questions about Kenny get it done late season, you know, kind of faltering getting injured and you don't like the body you still gonna have to turn on his team. If you iPad like there do not take the clause out just because it was an embarrassment for everybody like is literally going to have to do that yet do anything To say he gets to 3 1/2 and set a four hour to find nothing busy have to sit out the game like snow. No, they really gonna start messing with his guarantee. Don't lie because he hasn't hit those four hours. That's the whole point is not enforceable inwardly doing what will happen. How did it happen and he signed it.

I'm sure at some point, as I mentioned earlier, like getting it beat the hire lawyers to do it, and thus it's in front of the agent who then has to explain the Kyler what's in there. Unless you just like tell me when the money with the money. What's the dollars is a good were good and find it near to read the rest of it. Is it ready for signature sign it. Did he not know it was in his will and that's on his agent. I don't did you not know was in my guess is Joe Banner said everybody reads every contracting to do all general managers want to read it.

Every agent wants to read it so they can study up on what's in there. Maybe they could use this. Maybe they could use that they know that guys getting that my client comes up. I know you're giving that to that guy.

So my client comes up in a totally different, maybe same team different team, but same division. What's fair is fair Gets it. That's what I want what you think. Kyler Murray just magically got that much more annually then to Sean Watson know just out of just like you know Eric Burkart darted aboard know you will read to Sean's contract. So when that's being put in the contract. You know what's going to get out man of 3430 on this is going to be great, but our NFL contracts like an inch thick date of 20,000 words, or is it you know, or is it a sheet of paper is like iTunes thing. We just like scroll to the bottom a cost that well.

I could have been the way this island that could've been the way this happened and let me sign much with another line of it is boilerplate but a lot of it is also specific to a team like this one man if I was, Murray, I'd be like get that out here. You want me here or not and what he signed it and now is offended by this business. We've chosen the indie. Let's take a break. Everybody loves Raymond, is this man's show that he helped put together in front of this country and just as iconic a television show of all time. Now you can see him in season five of his hit show on Netflix somebody feed Phil available right now on Netflix all season far.

But, next available in studios.

Phil Rosenthal back here in a terrestrial radio outfit with Phil Rosenthal everywhere somebody feed Phil busy on farms right now somebody feed Phil available now. I Netflix is also a book version that's coming up a podcast and I want to get to in a second. But how do you choose where you can go eat on your show for elective people pitch you.

You gotta try this monthly to ensure that factors and boards are calling us to come here, film here because the girl is doing pretty well. So they want us to feature them right. I'm happy to do that but we do a little research which anyone can do. That's my message to the people is you can have when I'm having. We all have the phone you can Google best restaurants in Oaxaca and see what they got right and then you cross reference never just take one reference when you're when you're going somewhere you got cross reference just my show was one now source for you know to should check it out. I know so what so what what what Spot has been the most exotic that you've been to in your guy was fun, but it's not every day you get offered to Guam right just like Bangkok was was exotic for me. Marrakesh was exotic right yeah and there's there's some things in the world that you know a lot of people delete. It's not that kind of show I'm not the adventurous type, in fact, the way I sold the car was with one line I set him exactly like Anthony Bourdain if he was afraid of everything I'm saying thought the show and that's what you been doing for five seasons and a knife. But the point is, if it should look like me can go outside. Maybe you can't.

So what is the most outside your your taste alley that you've ever been like. That's one of them thought yeah that's one.

We did a show in Hong Kong in the old PBS series. That was a PBS series called off. I would Phil setting right before this, and I ate something called the thousand-year-old egg it's not really a thousand just taste that way and it's a it's an egg that they bury in that standard that the underground, and they covered in lineman ash in a kind of hard boils on its own. After a few weeks or long-sought. When you cut open this hard-boiled egg.

Though the white is brownish orange and the yoke is a bluish green and this was on the table with a bunch of other stuff a hot pot restaurant, which is fantastic. This I realize you're supposed to get tiny sliver of this thing and drop it in. This is a kind of funky seasoning and there was a woman at the table was Chinese are set on not touching that I said I tell you what you tasted all taste so tentative about us at Oakmont and I pop the entire happen again.

I know because I'm hilarious.

Rick and I turned every shade of that egg and you hear on the subject you here laughing it's my brother. The producer behind the camp. Yeah laughing because I'm going to Dina and that was I think the worst thing I've ever eaten.

I didn't try the one of the Beatles, but that was close. I have had to eat a couple of bugs here and there because it's part of, you know, in Tokyo, I had an aunt. They told me you gotta try this aunt was a taste like lemon ice over that case, please have some lab began exactly if it's lemon whereafter plugs that I have to eat. They said you gotta try and and the woman I was with said you know it's really good and you should taste the pickup. This aunt yes that looks like a black carpenter ant that you would chew away at your picnic. Yes I put it in my mouth. This is not a Jewish guy from Queens is not eating, Jewish guy from Staten Island I'm with you as I am way with you on the guy who went when I was in the you know my dad was a French teacher really rest his soul yes and he he he would go on trips with his high school class around the world with French-speaking country guys went to Paris I went to Paris as a kid and I only had was peanut butter and jelly's all I didn't taste the damn thing and now give an estimate on a hamburger. Now you know and I'm not. I'm not on. I don't really go outside my you come with me somewhere. Can I turn want things I bugs.

I promise okay with you and that somewhere between Peter butter and jelly in a moving beetle we can find that sweet spot is what they so you eat a steak yes absolutely, I guess I should cause them, but that yes at lobby my wife usually was amazing.

Yes, yes, amazing. Yes, my favorite okay time for right but if you choose love when it was some dates and things to like this product carts in Florence, just where they pull out the sheet. The stomach lining about It comes out of the car like this and you know what it smells like you know bedsheets, no thank you. The trike cart you got like the good-humored truck bending around the set up and put on a roll and that that's their hot dog.

You know that's delicious to like this aunt yes and damn if it doesn't taste like somebody put drop lemon on my toes or was like okay now to questions. What do you base these and lemon it no this aunt. Not every in this particular and yes, in this particular part of the forest in this part of Japan that taste like lemon would help. Discovered that I don't know so very very hungry hungry famous saying it was a brave man that one strident oyster right heard that you believe that when you look at really know what how I love delete that no I Text or issues with an oyster. I understand that my problem I got text or issues with food and try mayonnaise until it was 21.

Okay, but no way I said it is his prior problems with texture. Now I'm not no problem with it but now you have no problem zero, probably, but she now you're growing up week that we grow up and are taste literally change so I tell people that even if you hated this thing earlier in your life right now you going to see them like beets when I was little and now I like them even know that you felt was your favorite way. Well I don't know about you, the fancy part we have been in the fancy partner no matter like a great Vegas buffet. What you say I prefer the football teams more than more than the food there. What yours, that one night as usual there's nothing that stands out as targets stay close to the books, formerly known as Staples now crypto.com, the desert cards their own when they will lead into your thing into your suite.

Whatever you really will not entre but what's the worst were stadium food and don't write to me right to rich is the doctrine by the light that is Shanda and my mother say it's it's it's it's heresy to say this in this town.

I know, but I'm with you I'm actually with you, we maybe change things.

I mean the Brooklyn version is at least an all beef dog and that's the grill that's better way to make things right from back in the sense is, I mean right I don't think that's what they know not here right but just as his that's top-notch. The best grace, papaya, and we know think this yes yes but How did that happen. How did that limp skinless wet noodle of baloney. I think I got the answer. Having that become I think you have to look it up. I think one time you back in the 60s.

Okay, yeah, when the Dodgers were beginning to really win here after they came here from Brooklyn. They were really established. I think Walter Alston accidentally sat on for 20 minutes and somebody was very hungry. He got up from the chair and they just ate it, and ever since then it's been a delicacy.

That's really like their flat near me like that. The bread is stuck to the to the ending of the race.

By the way you live has to have what's the most important thing when you bite into hot snap snap snap limits the problem your shaking adjacent secrets. I love them. Christopher anything going on out there. I will say something really weird on Jeff passant's twitter okay about 30 minutes ago, so he wasn't acting and was he. I'm not sure because he posted a tweet that said these very happy for Mike Tomlin who produced the captain the last dance was told before the great Mike told me he is taking over operations.

The northern Colorado owls which is a pioneer league team. Okay right and then he has a second tweet under net under that that just says announce Soto know what that means is he saying like Mike Holland to print announce the Soto toy, like what is going on there. It did.

I don't know he meant the text out to someone I know and only tweeted it. I don't like it Scana I can't be the most important sport store that's going on 8000 like scores. It is all everything that passant did Molly also love passing passant everybody try to figure out what's going on with Soto Mrs. announce Soto.

That's a thought that the tweet is announce Soto but it's underneath like it's a secondary tweet is a written like Ptolemy like that accidental draft or something that you are sent out now. I got to John Watson is more humane doing quarterback drills right now it's just crazy that Mary Kay with a video. This is crazy. I guess you gotta keep arming you keep on keep on thinking that he's gonna play a mean if you get zero is out there.

Week one the Sean Watson versus Baker would be off the charts in week one situation, but I don't think he's playing this year before Thanksgiving is at some that's 12 games.

That's 12 game suspension. That's three quarters of the season that's tougher menus has been arrested and charged with a crime. He has not been charged with a crime. He is just me. Has it been since she's been sued civilly for 20 something that many many many different cases including people who do accuse him of doing criminal things so in behavior that is beyond bizarre.

But you don't get suspended for Billy bizarre behavior, but you do get suspended for predatory behavior, which is what it appears he was undertaking. On occasion, but I guess but what I'm saying those for just the football aspect of this thing. You gotta prepare Jacoby percent right you give them as many reps as you possibly can write don't you think you be getting all the reps but because the Browns otherwise we will really talk about the Browns otherwise mean Amari Cooper sitting there mascara is your defensive player of the year candidate from from the Cleveland Browns that county to sell and I believe they've got grant Delp. It was get ready to roll to, you know, that's another guy from not mistaken, could have been on my list of most impactful players returning to the engine so as to Baker Mayfield DJ Moore for touchdown very well. We got Tom Brady and Julio Jones for a touchdown and practice video that servicing is we should do to his fantasy draft for training camp okay and vanity of the fantasy draft for training can talk more to me and I know who's going to be in charge of aggregating all of the live tweeting of practice. DJ Moore dunked it over the goalposts is so dearly like if you would if you are Tom Brady in your training camp. Fantasy league and you gotta take people you know to get the most snaps Baker and seven on seven red zone three for four with three touchdowns DJ Moore Hudson Dover calling over and get enough of you that I'm calling over. Here's here's something man so the live tour isn't were all looking to see if Berkeley emerges from from Trump's golf course that's in Bedminster New Jersey day as if he doesn't get an offer by the end of the day he's out that's what he said oh here we go off 49 minutes ago we got something they haven't offered me a contract. They asked if I was interested. I said yes so nothing's changed nicely now in his kind conversation with Dan at the top of the Mike and my sponsors are concerned. He's obviously with subway capital one in Dick's Sporting Goods while on exchange. Like I said I mean to want to drive past 911 families protesting and he says he's got sympathy for them. I've never seen never and you haven't done it, and you haven't seen I have not stood on a T and watched a member of my group hit a hole in one. I have not seen that. And the only thing I'm the only hole-in-one I've ever seen or heard that was right with the Jimmy V golf tournament in Raleigh.

I was on a tee box on a par four and another group was on a tee box just across from the cart path.

Okay, on a par three and they were going nuts because Bob Huggins. It just that is my that's as close as being in aces I've ever amazing. As you know, I've been playing golf for a long time so Mark Hubbard currently for under T 17 right now after his first run rocket mortgage, thanks in part to this shareholder.
