Stage for the line of fire with your host activist all the international speaker and theologian Dr. Michael Brown your voice of moral cultural and spiritual revolution Michael Brown is the director of the coalition of conscience and president of fire school of ministry get into the line of fire valves like always 866-34-TRUTH that's 866-34-TRUTH your again is Dr. Michael Brown.

You know it's interesting in 1787. At the Constitutional convention when they were kind of at an impasse and eventually the oldest person at the proceedings. Benjamin Franklin called the room to order and share from his heart and a lot of good things transpired and ultimately we got the Constitution that guards our God-given freedoms and liberties but Benjamin Franklin whenever I speak at university.

Sometimes they'll talk about how the founders were secularist and things like that. Benjamin Franklin is often held up as a poster child of the fact that the founders allegedly were very godly but Benjamin Franklin quoted Psalm hundred and 27 verse one unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. I would explain why I shared that I would walk me to the line of fire Alex McFarland here and I'm so honored to be sitting in for Dr. Michael Brown is traveling he is dear well he's a friend of 20 years plus but is really kind of a mentor to me. Dr. Brown and I go way back and very honored that he would call me up and I could set up a little bit for him while he's traveling with got a tremendous show folks if you care about this country and you care about not only the whole America but you care about some of the parts that make up the whole like the family young people. The church evangelism. You don't want to miss the next few minutes because I've got somebody who is a just a real leader, a real icon in the American evangelical landscape and I will not introduce him in just a moment, but if you can hear yesterday I was in North Carolina at my home in the big metropolis of Pleasant Garden. I'm sure most of you go there on vacation to Pleasant Garden. I was there yesterday, but now I'm in Nashville, Tennessee net music city Nashville. There's a big convention going on.

Call the National religious broadcasters NRB and American family radio network, which is my home base that were broadcasting from there and that they got all kind of studio equipment set up your skin be great. I'll tell you all about that, but I do want to take up too much time. I want you to meet somebody and you know the folks we are going to take calls and if you've got a call question about family, marriage, child rearing, keeping your kids on track evangelism. You might want to get this number listen 866-348-7884. That's 866-34-TRUTH TRU TH 866-384-7884 RI, I think I said that right 866-34-TRUTH. Okay, here we get 866-34-TRUTH 87884 different people in your life that you know they really make a difference and the impact they make in your life reverberates for like years and years because I'm staring at somebody like that right now. His name is Dr. Jerry Dray's and out. We've been friends for a long time, let them tell this story.

But seriously, here's the deal. I went to work 1817 years ago for James Dobson Focus on the Family my whole world changed me literally out and this kind of a joke, but this is true. One day on speaking at youth HotDocs suppers.

A month later, I'm on the BBC world service talk into the entirety of Europe about Hurricane Katrina.

That's that was the paradigm shift in my life when I would work for James Dobson got to write 17 books. A lot of things happen.

The man that made a phone call and really put that series of events in place is Dr. Jerry Dray's he's got a great family, his wife, Becky, and he lit they live in Tennessee and we were close enough I said him and come on over and we want to visit a little while. Dr. Jerry Dray's of the Southern Baptist evangelists of an author, a leader strategize are a lot of things I could say but also this a friend. Thanks for coming over and welcome to the line of fire radio ship thanks brother. Such terrible situation. The Connecticut Opryland and hello man, what a setting you've got glacier. I wish I could see this.

It's really pretty is as gorgeous. Alex and I met so many years ago when I was speaking to a group of the evangelist in North Carolina and I looked out and they use it with your sweet wife Angie and you are smiling from ear to ear full of excitement like Burton are talking him into goat when you look up the word hyper dictionary. There's your picture hyper was 20 miles back to Mercy health and I thought mannish young man is just full of excitement.

I love the Lord and HB London, I had already established a great friendship and fellowship. But it's a joy Alex to see what God has done in your life.these years and so nothing happens by accident.

It doesn't not with God's children, and said he has the watercourse charted.

He knows were going to go. He knows the beginning from the end and to watch what he's done in your life is been truly amazing world that the Lord is good and were just excited about Jesus and I appreciate you. You and I one thing that brought us together. Obviously, that the Lord in the gospel but we are both part of something call Cosby COS IDE. The conference of Southern Baptist evangelists. I and and it doesn't mean we only speak in Baptist churches. Although that's a thrill but I may not. I just was in Ohio this weekend and working with Methodists in Albion in a Methodist Church to do a revival in a week, but talk about Cosby a little bit and we have something pretty pretty monumental that were put together. We shorted the conference of southern medicine evangelist was formed gracious back in the 60s, I suppose, but when I entered full-time evangelism in 1975. I weigh about 600 evangelist nine 1975 I was five years ago got that okay now you know thou shalt not lie when I'm sitting the one-sided 1975.

We had 600 evangelist we now and 2027 mega circles have less than 50 in the region that we often talk is that churches are no longer having what you call revival stress. Are you going to a Methodist revival that's interesting that all but by God's grace had limitary when when a Methodist Church is on fire for winning souls.

It's a force of nature. I probably do 3 to 5 Methodist Church events a year. When you find Baptist Church on fire pulling so that the force of nature exactly gracious and out of that to get back to Cosby. The company telemedicine – we have a meeting every year before the Southern Baptist convention at issue were meeting in Orlando Florida in June and on June 6 at the holy land experience theme park.

A lot of people think it's closed. Theme park is not closed, they just laid off a bunch of employees because her scaling way back for several purposes, but we're going to be there on Saturday night June 6 and Dr. James Dobson is gonna be a featured speaker admitted figure happen to your intervention were going to have a session that of service at night dealing with family and it's at the holy land experience theme park. The theater itself seeks a Belton 2200. We have an overflow room the seat to 300 were asking people course to show up an hour. So in advance because when you have Dr. Dobson speaking the president and founder of one-time present founder Focus on the Family it's going to be such a thrill to hear this man talk about what's happening the family in America until somebody of that ethic. Dr. Dobson is to families in the United States with milligrams was evangelism to the world claimant admitted and working to come back to that skews me when I come back to that.

And folks listen. June is a long way away, I get it. But if if at all possible. Wherever you are. You need to be at this big June 6 rally and work it between her and then we'll talk about it many times, but others can be a lot going on, but Dr. Dobson who is just one of the greatest oh my goodness he's going to be there because like us.

We care about revival in America now working at will call because end, this is Carrie in Pennsylvania J Jerry, there's a lot within a talk about your ministry but it says long and let her bring her question.

It's about her son and his connection to the church carrier you there carry either hi what what good thank you for listening to the line of fire and being on the show were in Pennsylvania are you by area. Sure will Alex McFarlane here. Jerry Dray's you've got a question and were eager to hear it. Talk to us by eight, nine. $90. I don't clean everything. My quick time to pray.

Quick famine that they really can play. They think that my job but how do I maintain my highlight land and not where my completely out be doing is knowing a friend like his mom. Well you can have a new light always got a break in the second bill go away and don't get your contact info. Because I want to send you my book abandon millennial's are leaving the church and how to bring that yeah but on and work will start this response and will have to pick it up after this break in a minute but Jerry at start kick us off a child raised in church gets 18, 19, 20, decides to walk away. Jerry, it doesn't mean he's walking away from his face.

He may be walking away from what he sees happening in the church, but if you said you were doing your part.

Here all you can do is pray always tell parents God to do more with our children.

We can, but nobody aeration nobody worries like a mother but worrying is not land-use of the spirit, either. So right wing when I turn it over to the Lord, you have to is a saying is yet the lay at his feet and say Laura done all that I can do. I've done all I can do is 18 years old. He's been in church the war will never return void. You can count on that. And if you set the example. Let me ask you quick people to go to break you have a husband there with you.

You know guy's point is to your son is seeing you and your your husband in church.

Nothing yeah can take the place of an example admin and you have set that example. Be proud of that, turn it over to the Lord and just take a deep breath and say Lord he is yours and mean it sounds simplistic but nothing can take the place of that love to say like you've done a great job at this point and carry a hold on don't don't go away, but I've heard hundreds of stories of Chronicles, but I've also heard hundreds and hundreds of stories of people coming back.

The prodigal stomach that you listen to the line of fire Alex with Harlan sitting in for Dr. Michael Brown, my very special guest Dr. Jerry traced them to you live from Nashville Tennessee financial tester much more about hope the home and it's the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown into the line of fire now by calling 866342. Here again is Dr. Michael Brown, 866-8884. That's number if you like the land. Dr. Jerry, Teresa and I are talking with Carrie Sylvania about her husband. I'm sorry, her son coming back to the faith, carry out, I do want to elaborate on the question. The number to give Dr. Joyce a chance to elaborate on his answer. You know how to write down right while Eric not where my completely out. Did you hear the beginning of the program. The verse of Scripture that Alex quoted from Psalm hundred 27 verse one did you hear that Gary no I would not hold okay okay the verse says, unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it and the key is the Lord unless the Lord and it doesn't say the church and it doesn't say the delamination doesn't even say the parent so it sounds like it sound like you've been basing your house on the Lord's teachings. And there comes a point in life. We always tell you with Arjuna comes a point when you said Lord I done all that I can do the best that I can do and how he or she is in your hands. I found a lot of parents carry bidding themselves at the time saying I should have done this. I should've done it. See, that's the past already. It's already gone to put the past. Aside. So to speak and trust the Lord to do with your son in the future.

What he's already done with them in the past and Alex's book Obama linearly. The church is an excellent book because they leave many times is not because your faith is has been killed. It's their searching the looking the longing, the lonely, etc. etc. but if you teach the word they come back to it and that something you just know his word is always there you planted in his heart you planted in his Majesty of Christian friends know I will about it with reported that we try them out and yell and print there compared our family everybody out nine of them good. None of them you know it it hired no comparison cycle since never ending, so don't don't don't play the game until the day we could go grab you and hug and say thank you mom for the day when it will come back it will and Carrie if you would give off air give the call screener your name and address.

If you want I it would be my honor to send you my book on abandon faith while millennial's leave the church and how to bring them home now. He wanted absolutely. God bless you give a plug July 22 24 we got our annual apologetics camp truth for a new generation we been doing this ministry for over 20 years. We have a camp every summer.

Last summer we had 86 salvation decisions of middle school and high schoolers when kids from seven states last year and it's $319 which we do all the Stuff, ropes course zip line and all that we have 15 sessions on apologetics defending the faith and and really just what it means to be a disciple and you can find out that at my website which is Alex McFarland.com Dr. Joyce.

Let's talk to him about hope for the home you and Becky have done this great ministry that encompasses a negative done citywide events and church events. But what you've dedicated your life to the gospel but to the family.

Why was it so significant. One reason is because my dad was a pastor and they never quite affect being a preacher's kid.

You grew up in church with you want to or not. So I can church I never resented that Eddie never apologize for being a pastor, but Sen. thought I was going to be an evangelist or a pastor.

I was going to college on the Jewish premade premade items when the medical school. But when it is we say in our circles and got called me into the ministry begin a whole new perspective for children and families. But unlike you, Alec and I went to seminary graduated and went into evangelism of about three years later for 38 years that's all I did had a team we traveled in revivals and crusades. But one day I wrote a letter to a lot of pastors, United States, and I asked one question acid quick question with a quick answer please what your greatest challenges a pastor and the number one answer that came back was how do we minister to the families in our churches mechanical me off guard and ask about building a church getting people say how do we minister to the families and in low in the ho shortly after that I was in a place called Focus on the Family, and I was sitting around with HB London and Dr. James Dobson. The three were sitting there talking and never forget Dr. Dobson documents a jury what he thinks, the greatest need among Southern Baptist pastors and their families… I think we just need to Focus on the Family and if you can cut them off guard. He started laughing.

He said you know what he said we don't. He said some of the preachers kids and their wives edition the loneliest people in our church in our churches and said you're right so he's let me encourage you to think about ministering to them, so out it came.

The conference call. Hope for the home that they can I do Becky is excellent teacher herself and a great counselor will go to a church for a weekend.

Friday night through Sunday night and during that time we do 10 major sessions on family issues anywhere from marriage to teenagers to children to senior adults, we can cover the whole spectrum and a lot of the give-and-take dialogue and in these last over 20 years we been doing that we are probably Gothic with an approximate 300 of these conferences here in United States and in Great Britain, but Alex a lot of pastors today. Now I am pastoring as well if it's only a pastor said to me privately that jury this weekend and hope for the home is meant more to me as a man and as a husband and father than anything on their experience because we deal with issues and sometimes still plumber syndrome. Sometimes the most neglected children in the church of the pastors kids and the steps kids sometimes the loneliest women church dispatchers wife and the wise of the staff people saw try and that we can beckon above try to bring in the fact that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build sure you know what I was reading how there's an article on the web. That said, how millennial's are killing off marriage is interesting that as of 2014 and that's in six years ago, but in 2014 and I would suspect this number is risen 64% of millennial men and women males and females said that they never plan to get married now.

I believe this only make a statement that I say to youth and I want your comment. The second greatest gift God ever gave the human race right behind salvation. The second greatest thing that ever gave the human race is family, marriage and family did.

Would you agree yes. Look what he created first in the garden if he created man and woman created family did absolutely here was at that a lot of you named all the animals and all of the study something besides this, and got yeah and there's something that just go to sleep like up now show you to admit when I say to tell that the single young man listening. The greatest gift is a Christian wife all let me tell you and what if God gives you a Christian white men guard that woman with your life.

Just it. The Bible says that that we men are to lay down our life for our bride is Christ laid down his life for the church. What does that mean to lay down your life for your bride jury.

What is that me you live to protect her care for you treat your bride exactly as Christ reached the church and had to retreat to church and gave himself for life. Everything he never hurt the church. He never abused the church. He never said I met a lady on their devotion on the walk out on. He loved his bride so much that I can imagine him giving up glory in heaven to come to be with us for a while but if it husband treated their wives. That way, connect with them due to the divorce rate it would just drop tremendously.

If husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church and treated their wives to that much respect would see a revolution in a great way and revival in our families because little boys or girls would see their daddy living like Christ in our homes.

Alex across America if the Bible is read, and prayers are prayed, usually the mother does it. Little boys need to see their dead as with about a minute. Little boys need to hear their dedication prayer house – does America have a father problem. How do we ever gracious with a small F.

Yes, we have a father problem until people biologically almost any man can father a child but there's a big difference in fathering a child and being a father to your children and so if you take the word father with A off our father God, if we would treat our families, the way he treated his church to get back to that hemming of the boys while passionate we have children our church to see their days, maybe once a month or UNESCO worthily of annotated the delay with a mom or someone else. They haven't seen their daddy in a long long time. The abandonment, the isolation, the loneliness a lot of work children face today in America and to think they have no father figure. So someday they're going to be daddies, but don't have the bug Molly left that's what church is so important. We have a waiver program in our church Friendship Baptist Church there outside of Jackson, Tennessee Wednesday night's call connect and it brings in children will we used to have a potentially knowing tonight when S&Ls have 60 or 70 and they're bringing these children are bringing in their big brothers and sisters, and a lot of are coming from broken homes, but when they come to our church. They feel welcomed and they feel loved and they felt accepted and that's what a good father. This was family you feel loved and accepted and welcomed 20 years ago when the promise keepers movement swept over America who it was great and out did you go to the big thing in Washington to remember that the million Man March media. I was there and I was to tell you now only 999,000 did you feel like though that that was going to ignite such a movement among men digit. I thought that was can ignite 100 years of godliness here in America. I thought we had a revival and that's something about the student to spiritual awakenings exactly. It just the flames died down, the embers stay during and glowed for a while. What we need is is a holy breath on those embers again. Yes.

Well hey folks, Alex McFarlane here sitting in for Dr. Michael Brown of the line of fire Dr. Jerry Jason got a lot more of the show God and country, family, and you don't miss it will be back with line of fire. The line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown get into the line of fire now by calling 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown met Graham Alex McFarlane sitting in Michael Brown talked with Dr. Jerry Torres about family. Hey, I do want to remind everybody listing that we've got the apologetics camp coming up July 20 and 2020 through 24 will be in western North Carolina truth for new generation we've rented an entire camp.

We do all the fun Stuff like ropes course and zip lines and everything like that. But what makes the truth for new generation are big conferences in our annual camp we needed once a year the theme is this to check this out folks unashamed. Paul said he was. Not ashamed of the gospel.

What we help kids in middle school and high schoolers we number one, we make sure that they have a relationship with the Lord. We make sure that they've accepted Christ but we talk about the evidence for Christianity and why it is rational and reasonable to believe in God to trust the Bible to defend their faith. You know what, and I give God all the glory. But we've had a lot of kids over the last 22 years and they send me emails of said Mr. McFarlane, I'm so thankful I went your seminar, I'm away at college.

You have no idea how you know hostile the professors are to religion and Christianity.

If I hadn't your seminars. I don't know what I would do anyway. My website is Alex McFarlane.that's been an alien XM CFA RLA ND Alex McFarlane.com a week of summer. That's a lot. I get it. Trust me I do, but I want to challenge you invest a week that will count for eternity. We have churches bring their entire youth group tour apologetics camp. It's coming up July 22 24 so I want to tell you, folks, I'm here in the AFR broadcasting suite with Dr. Jerry trace my evangelist friend, mentor colleague, the guy who got me a job with James Dobson 17 years ago and I I should probably come wax your car's regular eyes of the yards I should help of my best people but NRB is like a really big party and and you meet all these great people. If you go down to the floor. Then RB your libel to see Dave Jeremiah or Franklin Graham.

You just never know. And so right now I've got through my connection with Dr. Dobson Kinney mock him and I pronounce and act like a Mockingbird. MAU CK leaving your life imprint a legacy story that lives beyond one's lifetime that your book Ryan, well, hey, welcome to the line of fire.

Thanks for coming up to the broadcast week.

Great to be here now. I Michael Segovia that works with James Dobson he called me up and I've learned to really trust his gut. He said Alex you gotta meet Kinney mock he's a great guy and so out we welcome you to the program and by the way, congratulations on what looks like a beautiful book will thank you very much. You know you do talk about youth RX YG C generation innovate, they don't connect with story.

If you know the length of the research@thing is they don't have connection with what I love about this research I've done two years on my my own family history is realizing that we should pass on that heritage and story of our faith in a minute. My my six Deborah Griffin, I did know was a Lutheran from Germany and he came across a book called Samuel 1733 because of of religious persecution in here we are healed. 200 some odd years later worth or stealing that same persecution in 19 came across that great ocean to get away from persecution while in so I think our story is extremely important. The importance of legacy and ensuring their claim in the context do. I felt a lot of youth, especially youth that don't live at home with mom or dad. They don't understand their own personal story. They don't understand the story this country. I believe America was founded as as part of a greater story of our role in the great commission and I like what you're saying in there Kinney.

That does give them some grounding, but I'm going to ask and I want to invite Jerry trace join in any time you want to where's Humphrey originally Ridge go up. I grew up in Michigan okay and I've been here the last 29 years in Nashville though well known by brace my family basically here. What part of Michigan, of Flint, Michigan football be up here in about a month. Dr. Waters good now and is frozen is frozen and you know what hey, about two years ago the first week after Christmas.

I did a youth revival in Flint, Michigan.

Two years ago I did not know it was possible to be that cold and survive in my right unit is its goal of Flint in January is like deathly: living in Fairbanks Alaska just a few weeks ago and the temperature is. It was 47 below stimulus when you crunch you know when you walk, you hear the crunching sound at your house blinking gadgets.

Can you imagine how you want to get from place to place. You don't stand with them well before get treatment for how can people find you, and in this book, I want to get into the book but website contact info what you got Kinney mock.com and they can no you know we we we we also but we do donations because we serve veterans every day I help feed and do an adult day care for veterans and I could tell the stories and their amazing amazing stories. I left a World War II guy, but a couple months ago and but he gets a cheery story and they don't a lot of times a hotel with her family, but the wheel we connect with other veterans and they will tell the story. There and it's been very powerful, very special my life. This particular man a little builder quickly. He hissed the ship was next to the Indianapolis that particular ship was going to go take the atom bomb and in the World War II. But those guys that he was talking to another ship. They all died coming back from a Japanese torpedo and so it's stories like that just to sit and NBN and congregant with with these veterans in the and realize while that's just an amazing deal omission at your place.

Your natural way to do this you yeah it's it's called life to foundation the name of our of our nonprofit so we we serve veterans and that's silly. So you're giving if you're going to want to get the book.

You really just ago to do a donation and we send you the book that will tell. Speaking of stories, tell him tell me yours.

How did you come to know the Lord and how did God bring you to where you are in your servant well and Tucker ducked in talking with Dr. Duffin we got a chance to share about the importance of prayer and I believe that because of my nickel side of the mock family.

My dad married a Nichols. They prayed every single day for their kids, their grandkids and because of that, and I believe I'm here so you know you will was where I was raised in a Christian home and write a minute, I'll attempt in our family conferences. I'll use that phrase in the family altar before it will alter a family and my mother, daddy Monday was a pastor but if he had to be distilled in it. We had our family devotions every night and they didn't tell me that I had to do that when I got married Olympic I got married, we started it all the way through high school with our kids all the way through college. When they were home because we still do as I told the lady follicle that called in. You can't beat sitting in example came. If your parents pray with you read the Scriptures with you.

If your dad does his best, and mother does her best and they let vibe the Christian life. That's a sermon it's preached every single day and that's a story I'm pastoring a small church in West Tennessee and people in our church talk about your your life imprint book we got people in our church that they go back six generations in the history of the family is so important. It leaves a footprint and this is like the footprint of the cross we go back to the cross for Christ that that's where it all began with the Christian life, and I don't know what you because I just now so I can emit the life imprint daddies make imprints on the children of the and Bella commission on the go. What about all the children who come home, day by day, and there's no data there are so highly respect single mothers who raise their children. We do and don't abandon them and stay within that is an amazing thing.

By the grace of God, those children you know when the rescued is by God's grace for mother to stand by their children and we got over 5 million grandparents in our nation who are raising their grandchildren because both their sons or daughters of amended their children, and I hope for the home conference is one of our things is God never abandons us right and were all adopted, that would adoption every child of God has been adopted so there is no natural birth were adopted into the family unit. Let me say this will, and we got a break.

This is so rich function listening to the line of fire. Dr. Michael Brown is traveling Alex McFarlane sitting in for Dr. Brown and so honored to do that.

Dr. Jerry trace of hope for the home. Your website is it's hard when remember hope for the home.org hope for him.org and Kinney mock your website again this Kinney mock.com cell mock MA you CK all right listen to this guys and that the breaker probably hit us, but will come back I was reading the magazine. It was a psych magazine and the development of psych magazine but listen to this they were doing the study of married couples that have some sort of spiritual time together every day. Now we would talk about reading the devotion Angie not Rita devotion every day, even when I'm outside the country and I've racked up a lot of money on cell phone bills, but if it's at all possible. We have will read open windows are our daily bread or something, but of couples that have a prayer time together every day.

The divorce rate was like one divorce. In 1100 couples think about that.

Now the national average of her different stats 3% up to 68% but it's a little more than half of marriages in but think about it now were coming to you from an overtly Christian perspective. We believe in Jesus were promoting Christianity, but even secular psychologists say that when a married couple has some kind of a quiet time spiritual time. The divorce rate just goes down exponentially. So either one of you could, and I want to throw a challenge to the men out there to become the priest of your home and there's so many good books out.

Goodness gracious off Josh McDowell who is a friend to all of us. He wrote Josh McDowell's book of family devotions.

There's an oldie goal become my utmost for his highest streams in the desert. Jerry woke what would happen if the men out there said hey were gonna honey I love you. Let's begin our day with prayer and Bible verse, Ethan, this is what I challenge them into doing our hope for the home conferences give him a chance to respond. If men would do it consistently. I think men say to me and they mean and I just kinda dumbfounded when I don't how to read the novel and I go less, like opening a book and you see a page and you just start rate estimate, not anything it's just a place to start and I was taken to Proverbs 2 of the greatest books in the Bible on how to practically raise a family and that that's what we do not wisdom. We redo a chapter every day and probably with any per year shall be effective got memorized, but that is a great lease, a blueprint, if daddies would do that.

Turn off the TV, turn out the computers and just have one verse of Scripture with their life when no children. It also well functioning-is ratio happening here the line of fire Joe the way out here with Kinney God country don't go away. It's the line of fire with your host activist, author, international speaker, and Dr. Michael Brown voice of more cultural and spiritual revolution get into the line of fire now by calling 66343 here again is Dr. Michael Brown greetings again. Live from Nashville, Tennessee. The National religious broadcasters convention. I'm telling you words have a good time. Dr. Jerry trace of hope for the home.

Kinney mock of life imprint a brand-new book and before the break, I was talking about heaven devotions and it's not hard Jerry I want you elaborate on something. We were thrown out there. Sometimes men say we, I just can't read the Bible can't understand the Bible. Angie and I found you know I've got a couple of apps on my phone. Like our daily bread, and there is generally a scripture and a thought, and maybe a little commentary and a prayer and 556 minutes. Even if I'm on the other side of the world. We can only find Rita devotion pray together, five, six, eight minutes in my whole day is different. I mean, nowadays, men don't have an excuse for not being the spiritual leader MRL and out of the Gazan that your trusted man got a Bible out. I know you do when I'm preaching and they're looking at the following indigo touchdown. I noted that looking at the Bible and again without looking at something anybody can put it out.

Anybody can be just like what you said but you know what I did all the years of my life on the road I would call home every morning at 7 o'clock. If I was in United States and have one verse of Scripture with our son Drew who was of the fellow, and one verse of Scripture same verse with her daughter Rebecca and that have talk to Becky for a moment how to pray with them and let it go to school. Then I called Becky back later in the day when I did not do that.

The children let me know what date you didn't call me this morning that introduction into an airport lady, Jeff, I headed meeting somewhere.

I didn't call all those years just setting example without preaching to them and now they do the same with their families without having been told to.

It's like cast your bread upon the water limited agent shall return you cast your example out and it comes back in for the dentist who are listening right now man, you can pick up a verse of Scripture, the book of Proverbs, you can open your cell phone, go to the Bible out and it may sound strange, I know some of the equipment. My kids think about selling a play with them all inside a cardio while that is super cool. They may not tell you that. But for daddy who bows his head and prays over his family for your little boys to hear your voice calling their name for the father in heaven makes a phenomenal impact in their life and for a little girl to sit next to her daddy while he's praying for her that something no man can everyday I just challenge men to step up to the plate and being a Christian you don't leave it up to the pastor of your Sunday school teacher open the book open the Bible out start impoverishing start today reverse one gold I don't drink tea finish it'd be amazing BLX how I totally agree and I love the book of Proverbs and Kinney. This story every family get one of my favorite quotes Mr. Rogers.

I was just in the Pittsburgh airport and there's a display. Fred Rogers said there's nobody.

You couldn't love if you only heard their story is a great quote that the mountain tops the valleys.

The good that the hard fought. What is the story have to do with what God might be doing in our life. Kinney I think if you can embrace this salvation and grace of God and realize he's greater than any problem situation and he is the God of our story and once you catch a glimpse of that I'm not I was there and where I'd minimize my own story. I me. I think we do is people but when I caught a glimpse of that yeah and I got in God call me to take that 365 are six, $600 out of savings account and start a nonprofit and now the back 23 years later, that just that very sensible of following God, the big hairy audacious goal and now hundreds of thousands of kids and families in Tennessee have been blessed because of that, five loaves and two fishes that I basically said I'm going to obey God on this big hairy audacious goal is coming to an now I look back and say why not me know and I think that's that's my messages, why not you that there listener that are listening to this right now. Alex vacant God can. All it takes is getting up a promise from God and holding onto it and you keeping your end of it and watch out what this god it even if we we blow it we stumble we sin, we have things in our past wish would just as soon forget. Does God ever give up on writing our story and and does God ever say hey I'm done here and leave us no now that's a will that one thing I have two grandfathers one the nickel siding on the mock side Mike Mike once grandfather was a great minister and he spoke but he fell he fell completely apart and he had high visibility, low impact at the end of his life just a few of us standing around my other grandfather was faithful to all the people down the block he was doing there there there there yard are there, you know something at the end of his life he had no low visibility but high impact of the church was full of people that he just ministered to. So he got a glimpse of that that my story is important and I'm gonna fulfill that part of my story.

I don't know that that that resonates out to you but me with resonated huge in my appendix I why my book is what I would want to share a teller man at church so often in our conference is not how. Chapter 1 starts is how the final chapter ends and is not a man start out writing the page I go man who cannot tell the book ends. I'm glad Alex, I'm so glad that God can forget when you covered our sins there. Forget that forgot nothing and then moved away. You have to keep confessing the same scenes over and over gas when you can. Fast repentance should follow you stop it and you have to keep bringing up gotchas. I know you are a major solute while being formed its I know this. Let's get on with life. And at that last chapter is so important for Amanda writing his life, to throw this out to either one of you what you say to the person out there that's just had so much stuff.

Many of it is of our own making. You know, but they they just they don't have any hope left their tank is empty. In terms of a personal relationship with Jesus in terms of marriage in terms of family and kids just in terms of life, legacy very often I meet people who are hopeless, either one of you both of you what he said of the person who almost is out of hope yet for 20 years as a therapist known working with people.

That's the that's the thing is, they've got to find hope they've got to find hope in that and and that's with in for me it became a surrogate grandparents taking only single parents and loving them didn't have any altruistic reason for wanting to work with it except to love on them and I found that that's what the people need people that that will believe in them and in and in God wants us to build hands, both hands and feet ever get out before the fall event the fall of Genesis 3 had not yet happened. And God said it is not good for man to be alone something less than ideal is we need each of the doubt which areas naturally. That's one of our things is hope is the anchor of the soul, and I've carried out where little anchor lapel pin have done for years and became a man anchoring in Hong Kong had given tenant. The consul reminds me that Christ never gives up on us, but it's a great question asked when somebody is running on empty and there's no fuel left in their life if they don't have hope they give up and tell them that God never gives up on them. That's what you got to start you even a therapist and prolonged timing accounts with people having chief when a person loses hope they lose the will to live your own what you lead in a prayer we've only got about three minutes but folks listen up. We want you to know this.

Jesus loves you and Jesus cares about you and God is not finished with you about your going to have to turn to Christ and would you just leaving a prayer, whether it's somebody who thinks they've drifted too far beyond Jesus's reach her.

Maybe their family. But whatever.

But Jerry, how could somebody pray and turn beginning now turn their life back to Jesus.

It's at step of faith. We talked about a while ago. Very simple little step of faith, like the lady that called in the beginning of the program.

God is spiteful to us and stepping out into that darkness when you can have a light you know he's not gonna drop you is going to be your bridge.

His word is always true. It's a matter of trust, trust and faith go hand-in-hand in God's word, not lie it.

She's taking that step of faith. So many because it is bracketed at the Lord Jesus, I thank you for this time together with Alex I think you pertaining outing him for the first time in four his book comfortable impact many many people and Lord. The lung function listing right now mothers and fathers, husband-and-wife sums, marriages are hanging by three had some have children they haven't seen in years, but you never give up on us. You never do. May we not give up on those that we love and at the same time we hold how your standard father we cannot compromise your word. We cannot compromise your standard we can live them out. Help us as husbands and fathers and wives and mothers to live what we want our children to live. Thank you that you care for us and help us to remember that one verse Trudy that unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain who build it. Thank you for this day we give it back to you in Jesus name Amen amen amen Jerry, thank you so much.
