Jamie Sibley had a better scrimmage last night that I thought Sam did say Sam played poorly but when you look at Newman's numbers they pass for the same amount of yardage 146 yards. It just took seven fewer attempts for Jamie to touchdowns and five scores on seven drives. Meanwhile, for Sam Hartman one touchdown and interception. He did have two field goals on six possessions as well or make it 79 of 18 passing for Sam. Eight of 12 for Jamie Newman but I think what it comes down to for me last year.

Jamie Newman was more available and we always hear that your best ability is availability heap makes great decisions doesn't put himself into positions where he could get injured and the games that he won quite frankly were just more meaningful. On the road at NC State at Duke games the Dick's had to had to be bowl eligible and you win the ballgame coming from behind dramatic fashion.

Now those opponents. With all due respect to them. They went the bowl games they were good teams. They are Notre Dame AR Clemson Sam Hartman had to face them, but it's regardless of how you look at it. It's not a bad problem to have the know you have two good quarterbacks.

I just be surprised at this point if it's not Jamie Newman. Considering how he finished the year last year and what we saw yesterday. Stan was all good points it in a long way to go couple weeks left on another scrimmage. I think you have one more scrimmage but two more weeks of fall camp to to see.

But you're right Jamie finish the year awfully well heroically. Well, some people might say in but I think it is a good problem to have. You got a couple quarterbacks in Jamie Newman and Sam Hartman who have proven they can win who have proven they understand what Dave Clawson wants them to do who have proven to their teammates that they can lead so I think they're both better than they were a year ago.

I think Dave Clawson even said that today earlier and after the game are after the scrimmage last night. There better than they were a year ago so you will will see how it shakes out. But if it can continues to go as it has gone. I would probably agree with you that that Jamie Newman would start against Utah State but will have to wait and see many of those points you made. Dave Clawson drove home last night and this is following the scrimmage at BB&T Field today. Jamie was crisp and he ran with the ones with the first curve. Sam through a great touch at the ends Isaiah, Isaac, and they're both playing better than they were a year ago. I believe we have to quarterbacks right now that are better than any quarterback. We had a year ago, and that's a compliment to both of them in this either of mentally the swing preseason camp last year would've been an easy decision. Your thoughts are welcome. Curtis Samuel continued to be dominant at You never really know when you're having regular practice. Me and Stan were discussing this just last night that somebody has a big play when you're playing against your own team and you can look at it both ways. Okay back. But what does that say about the secondary maybe you got it cuts both ways, doesn't it doesn't and and Dave Clawson said that about his team last night did the very same thing.

You just so you have to go back and you have to look at filming you have to really digest yourself in the process. Here's why I believe what I believe is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. That's one of the most prominent positions in sports. He's been the quarterback for three years. This is going to be his fourth. Two playoff appearances in three years.

He's also one of the most underpaid quarterbacks in the NFL. If he was good to make $30 million he'd be tied to the fifth highest paid quarterback in the league.

Presently. But with the Going up and inflation that fifth highest paid quarterback will quickly turn into probably 10th or 11th in the next two years.

That's just how the thing works right now. When you look at quarterbacks that are higher paid then back Prescott right above him. You will find Garrett Gilbert of the Cleveland Browns. You'll find Clayton Thorson whatever the heck that is the Philadelphia Eagles Cody Kessler Josh Dobbs Gerrit Stidham Taylor hi Nikki, higher paid, then back Prescott when you look at the list of quarterbacks annual pay and that's because that Prescott was 1/4 round draft pick a telework she still in his rookie contract. So part of me thinks you're the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. Usually when these deals come up. If you are somebody who is deemed valuable enough to get that second deal probably to be the highest-paid player in the sport. If you're not the highest-paid player that's fine, but $30 million. Okay, I think Carson went is making 32 he has done as much as Jack Prescott Carson went when that Super Bowl Nick Bowles did and he's been the two playoffs in the last three years and also Carson went was banged up before he signed his extension. So I think I'm back Prescott I look at this. I said I need at least 3 million more dollars here just because were signing long-term here and you been underpaying me for the last three years I've started for what you think will win.

When you and I were having our conversation about the Cowboys out in the outside of the studio. I didn't have all his other numbers and I'm I'm all cowboy fan deck Prescott fan and I'm also a fan of. Regardless, if you think all pro athletes are overpaid.

Forget that argument. I'm all for deck Prescott getting what he deserves. Based on his position as a quarterback for whomever and so if it's if it's 35 million a.m. Got no problem with that.

I just come at it from.

I just wish wants you making 30 million.

You have offered you 30 million and you didn't have to be deck Prescott. It could be someone else like you were talking or look I want to go to the Super Bowl so even though the market might say that I'm worth 35 baby 31 and get Ezekiel Elliott signed up, get get the other guys signed up with. Let's go make a run at the Super Bowl I think will probably be able to survive on 31 you give up. Why get your point, and it does it does happen and you usually see it from Tom Brady Drew breeze Tim Duncan.

These players at the end of their career who said I've made. I'm not. I want to set it back in deck, Prescott's case back Prescott I don't know what he's worth right now, but I think he's barely a millionaire. I think that Prescott hasn't been paid anymore and probably $1 million by the Dallas Cowboys in the last four years. Part of it is recouping what you think you've already for an and I get that part of it, but still you have been offered 30 million for one year that Stan cotton money. That is, that is a whole lot of money.

And again I I don't any athlete I am for them getting paid whatever the market will bear and what is fair. I got I got no problem with that. I just it's just getting so Christie's with with an I'm not sure I would ever turn, is scheduled to make $2 million this year.

Enter he's made 630,000 540,004 and the Cowboys haven't done anything playoffs to the last three years but they're basically for the Dallas Cowboys that you're the Dallas Cowboys. They expect more than a player I just I get that but you haven't you been a 500 team yet echoing stand up. I would imagine that Jack open up at 40 because he knows he's not going to get well that's rumor he did not open up the 40 he didn't. He denied that he offered. They put out a figure. He denied $30 million. They did not counter with 40 that's that's a factual okay so I'm not seeing about ways that it has been out there and it hasn't been out there but listless to say for the sake of conversation. He did start for you know because he denied that he said that he didn't put out $40 million. He wants that rumor to go away.

He believes that Dallas put out that to make him look bad with that is making sense on the map you put okay let's let's just say that he'd start out high, but he started now, if you know you're worth, you're going to start out hot visionary not to get that amount would be start out at 30 million. The wise Jerry Jones can pay you €30 million. You can pay €25 million so I understand that logic, but the standpoint is willing to in the playoffs. Any scornful without Zeke on the field so the more important, cockier deck Prescott as a delegate it's deck Prescott without a question, Zeke Elliott, I would not pay why not right now. Elliott has two years left on his deal if we learned anything to the Los Angeles Rams last year. They paid Todd Gurley on average, 14, $15 million a year and running back much or if you know this. They average their average life span is 2.57 years in the NFL Todd Gurley he got banged up down the stretch.

He was a nonfactor in the Super Bowl and their NFL experts that believe he will be 80%. The player he's ever been.

So you just gave that guy a massive contract. Don't give Zeke Elliott the deal until you have time next year. I feel pretty confident in saying that if the Cowboys don't have Zeke Elliott and a golden super well they are not going to Super Bowl. I grew that this is like there year there so their young precedents when talking about if you had one year left pay them paid that the man he's mommy do it today, but you don't pay a running back two years ahead. You have contracts for reasons okay you don't get paid enough because of the rookie pay scale, that's fine. You should be complaining, the Dallas Cowboys, you should be declared complaining to your players union and getting that set that's not Dallas problem.

There's two years left on the deal. If I'm Dallas I say listen you got two years left were not to pay you because we have bigger fish to fry a lot of quarterback that has one year left on his contract +2 people are comparing the situation with Zeke to Smith hold out back in 91, and there's a couple stark differences here.

I mean I think Emmett had one year left on his deal when this was going on. He was there he was Russian champion. No rookie pay scale for the rookie pay scale and they just want to Super Bowl like me they were coming off of a Super Bowl win but he was a key cog to meanwhile Zeke and Doc if they got one playoff win between them in the past three years are like different email then you NFL football in 2019 different animal, especially with regard to the running back then it was all absolutely yeah when we just it's it's it's a completely you different game deck. Prescott would be my priority among the three players that are looking for contracts that Zeke and Amari Cooper are all looking for contracts. I'm going quarterback first because when it we've seen it running back players who were seen to be all pros. They are out of the lineup you replace them, and while it might not be the same production there's little drop off. Case in point. Case James Connor last year.

Steps in for lady on Bell. There's no equivalent to that really for quarterback. I quarterback you there or maybe 15, 16, 17 guys who can lead you to the player.

If you have one of those guys you keep in whatever the price tag is to pay.

That's how it works.

You do that, because again there's a premium when it comes to quarterbacks and away there is it for wide receivers and running back with the question again comes down to is deck that quarterback because we don't really sled to the playoffs three times with Zeke when he didn't have Zeke is a 500 quarterback times I've been to the playoffs right one years, but I guess that's really the question is is deck Prescott that guy that Aaron Rodgers what Russell Wilson, guy that deserves 30+ million dollars for the complete your team. I don't think you should be asking is deck Prescott, Aaron Rodgers. I think the question is is deck Prescott better than whatever the alternative is Izzy Matt Stafford remember Matt Stafford got the biggest deal in NFL history still hospitable to know not how I got Stafford Gafford is like night and that's what I'm talking about with inflation right there car Matt Stafford but the highest paid players when they signed their contract.

Those guys are both at the bottom of the top 10.

That's how it works. Every deal you get paid hot and then the stock Prescott contract that looks like a lot right now two years from now.

It's going to be him be in the eighth or ninth highest paid quarterback in the NFL and after the quarter back to the Dallas Cowboys.

That's just the price you if you throw money out just throw all the money out and you look at players and getting to the Super Bowl. That's what Jerry Jones wants to do is go to the Super Bowl. Zeke Elliott, Zach Prescott, Amari Cooper, in that order or that's my importance of player to get to the Super Bowl this year for this year right. But if you're projecting most important on a 10 year scale.

You can't wait your own helmet and that's messed up that they think they did just reporting about the fact that you have your shoes off at the cryogenic chamber map messed up there to see some of that but this might be worthy of a hot take Antonio Brown is not going to be the one that steals the show tonight.

Antonio Brown's not to be the highlight I saw video in the middle of last week. Nothing that crazy and it enough for me to think this man is gonna be the one that steals the show. Hard knocks. Episode two more Sean Lynch was at raters practice that man is going to steal the show. I'm not sure if you watched any of the television stuff more Sean Lynch is done already. He's fantastic like him on Conan O'Brien him doing TV commercials. He has a great comedic timing a great comedic voice. I don't know. I saw him at camp.

I feel like there's going to be a five or six minute stretch with Marchand. That's absolutely a riot tonight so those are the three things hard knocks. Episode two. Later this evening. Annoyed John Gruden or Mike Marriott to be that all the shot corner of the office.

That's just looking down and forget the cameras are there because the learn some news that isn't that favorable for their football team regarding Antonio Brown. This network has been for ESPN.with a lot of people are private out a natural reaction network. Why are you in Bristol while they want to work so many resources and you and you know you don't think I get but that were recorded are you teambuilding.

I mean I was blown away when I put in the first kind of like a whole couple of blocks: and building and all kind of debt that I think that just a little bit how. They are the network and how much they're looking at doing that.

You know if someone is in Bristol for another challenge. There may be there late. Hopefully we can grab them for a quick interview or whether it's just people.

They are there helping out with others behind you know on camera a little bit of everything.

I just think that it got me a big priority. Did you recognize that when you were being considered for this. A lot of people I met with some people were networks live a little bit and I don't think that article is that I don't think working people that they thought were going to be great for networking and other women be happening around you where going because I was eating with no many people I met with Rosenfeld who I kick off finding a great person to work around it rather than helping launch at capturing you know quite a few stating a call in another line. I think it's great.

I think the article that you know we got one lunch by all women but you know it the first time. I think that they had a network where all women are lunching at my body on the mailing he just outnumbered. I worked in or years before coming here and whether it what you covering the Panthers or the hornet, you know. Yes, there are some emails were captured in Charlotte but you're always out whether it by the players in the member.

You look around and it went in and maybe a couple of guys so it's been really cool Good job. What is tell you though I being where I can speak to what you're just referring to somebody who's been in the industry.

I guess for the last decade or so. I was in spots where I want to be any limit at all in any of these press rooms and in Charlotte with the Panthers. It's it was you and Jordan Rodriquez. We love talking with the many others who do a good job now, but your experience is what compared to this story now what is it tell you where your.the industry is down for you know when I was growing out of only got a big and everybody wanted to comment alone. Now I'm into that when a big deal that I never think that you done it before her and had a good job but having women, whether it I think ground you want to look at, you know, a lot of these women network are you know some of the top people. The ACC network executive as you how far I think women of con in general I think it show you how much you know when interviewing the pros as well. This network has been for ESPN.with a lot of people are private out reaction. It network why are you in Bristol. While it they want to work so many resources and you and you know when you think of the eight get but that's where the court are you building.

I mean I was blown away when I put in the first time. It's like a whole couple of blocks: yeah, and building and all kind of stuff that I think that just show you a little bit how. A lot of people if I met with some people were network live out little bit – and I don't think that article that I don't think that you could realize that they were working at people that they thought were going to be great for networking women be happening around the table like I was deathly aware of going through the interview process because I was eating with no many people I met with Rosenfeld UIs kickoff and felt funny and just a great person to work boring to be around helping launch and throwing and you know quite a few stating a call in another line. I think it's great. I think an article that you now we don't want that. Well loved by all and you know it the first time. I think that they had a network where women are lunching at my body is a nail and he just jumped out the time to get outnumbered.
