Is wrestlemania weekend so I can think about a better book to grab the one authored by our next guest, under the black hat my life in the WWE and beyond. It is Jim Ross spending time with us here and strangely enough, Vince McMahon, he's of he's the most famous alone at the University both my producer and I attended East Carolina University in North Carolina and I'm just trying to get some stories as many stories as I can get out of you that I can't find in the book. Do you remember your first impression of Vince McMahon yeah he was there and live what I thought the water will be like very positive very imaginative. No, not for what kind of beer does Steve Austin prefer you also drink is so cool I feel so go the I don't have big distribution is. I know a lot of people are trying to like it so I would say is all beer. The preference yeah tell me a little bit about him just because he's one of the most interesting figures in the history of wrestling.

I know you had a strong relationship with him. What's what you think is a common misconception people might have about the one stone cold. Oh, that he probably is not very pathetic to other people's situations are all about people so he values friendship, trust, and luckily I still on that list we communicate regularly, so I think folks got feelings more than you would think it is very bright guy, very smart voice and the sickness sometimes was sentences would indicate he's not very friendly or not right bright and both are wrong. That seems to be a common trait that I see among some of the premier wrestlers that I've come into contact with Lenny Paul so and his family. Great friends of our family as well.

Course talking about macho Man Randy Savage and he was somebody that was a bit standoffish and had trust problems, welcoming people into his inner circle is that something you've noticed as well at the cover this with Andre the giant as well that he is a bit standoffish at times to have you seen more guys were there work because the business was secretive they were. They didn't environment where they could be asked a lot of questions so that such a state trait of the business itself back in the old days not so much now because event coming out in the open back in the days when it was not. It was a big deal I got what they protect the business became very introverted very guarded under the black hat is the book my life in the WWE and beyond would be enjoined by Jim Rohn's was on Twitter at J are asked barbecue JR's barbecue Joe Buck say this week I was listening to him on a podcast. He wrote he wrote a book just for himself. He found to be therapeutic. And I know you this isn't your first book. But if you if somebody reads it. It's a bonus I think is what Joe said what was the motivation for you to write the black hat story of my wife's light port.

She was when I was in charge, roster and all those years. Her story not been told the my book 1st. Wrestlemania 14.

I think it was so I want story up in. Through the years starting in starting in a great current touch a lot of subject matter writing chronologically and chronologically story was when not been told to the first book, partially told them so much more happened and that second book finish the autobiography so it just so happens it. A lot of things happened along the way my wife getting killed March 17 had not planned on, but I did after I wrote about it and I also talked about in the audiobook which is really a challenge to get through. You mentioned you were in charge of evaluating talent that could become stores in the WWE but that in mind, how do you think Rob Michalski will do as a wrestler what you think. I think you wanted to be a regular rest for my you and II ran a department that we scouted the cut which we negotiated and managed a wellness program. We did a lot of them booking sign contracts. Everything for the talent rock is probably a guy that they'll get you wrestlemania something something out everything everything mostly son-in-law or something that's ever been considered see that happen, but you will see you'll appreciate this one, stuck in the Lincoln Riley and he sat. I asked him hey Russell, let's put your big fan of the Oklahoma City thunder when he was playing there at the time. Where would you put them on the football field. He said it's crazy. Just the other night me and Bob stoops were discussing that we both arrived.

It free safety for you. Is there a athlete you laid eyes on before and thought man. This is somebody who has the personality to stick this guy has the athleticism, work ethic, the commitment to think this would be all fantastic wrestlers or anybody you comes to mind. All you know there's a lot about their they want one of the no you know I love you Brian Bosworth you not been hurt and signed with the weather early on in and in the way I would let off a lot of money and wrestling in a great body that shoulders and a great looking reputation. He looked like a wrestler hair 9 yards and to combat this letter so you greatly had a great media kit already made what we try to get them signed, Bill ought not talk about the general Jim Crockett Mike Dr. Betty talk to his agent we met with his agent just wasn't something Brian want to do at that time he would be a movie star. So he went that direction so the progression world.

I think in hindsight, it made more money committed to progress Jim Ross with the seer on sports hub triad and I'm interested from a football perspective what you think about G1 hurts from Oklahoma. What what's he going to be in the in FL quarterback and he'll be a backup quarterback your chance to play sometime mercy situation will become a star all you dance as you walk in your locker character, honesty, hard work better are the people think is athletic is going to successfully to very good programs in college football with Alabama know you so I like his Robert was the producer of the show he spend every wrestlemania. I think since what Robert 23's of the last 13 years; if you write and you also were wrestling referee as well so you been in the wrestling world for a while were trying to find a way to put a smile and Jim Ross face smile on the audience's faces well coronavirus it's a big deal in everybody's talking about it so rather than try to be talking down about some of the things that are happening. Robert and Aaron.

They cut a very short promo for you to hear about what they think the coronavirus weight on this 19th hell you think you are, but I know exactly who I am. I'm a citizen's concern for the well-being of the people that live around me and the one thing you have to member is when with quarantine walked in here with you.

Your locking here with Kelly Marion washed my hands as I was a little boy three times a day. Jean hello long time. 19 is to be able to tell you how many lights are on the ceiling after me and Aaron lay him down going to how bad is that Jim Ross with a pass as wrestlers at all, not on television, but I enjoyed it was the best at cutting a promo who was the most reliable between the oh no no no, I don't care about these two guys I WWE getting well you know the best that promote Negro writers write the rights of the personality in Berkeley out of talent talents are encouraged to create their own content in AEW. We don't have any right, and the administration gives a talent bullet points in the calendar are then must create their own promo which is great. Chris Jericho was environment Moxley Matt Hardy read their they were governed by system that did allow them to express in sales is much as they say they wanted to let her we are now just an interesting place to work and help around there. I find more great stars. Luckily our team did. We are so fortunate to build a roster out of all think people and you know what I had one recruiting class we find Brock Lister John Sina Dave Batista Randy Orton in the show invention in one class all all those other guys came before and after that so we talked about a lot of the book of the stories you guys signed. I got a great offer JR if BBQ you check us out at JR if BBQ that's nonrefundable barbecue sauce and jerky and seasoning. All the greats but I have an offer for the book is 40 bucks we pay the shipping it would personalize the autograph to get a commemorative book bookmark. So it's this office on them right now I'm in a little warehouse in Norman isolated signing books and I loved the book is under the black cat my life in the WWE and beyond. Wrestling is massive in these parts with course the Hardee's I mentioned McMahon's background and we certainly hope that things get back to normal soon and smiles are put on people's faces with wrestlemania 36 and what you have going on as well on Twitter JR asked barbecue.

You mentioned BBQ you mentioned some of the promotions their JR, we really do appreciate the time in North Carolina today.

The smart stand. All you don't figure it out. That's what I'm doing.

That's great. If I stay in stay home JR told you so it's great stuff from Jim Ross
