Riley go way back to the Oklahoma sooners now going to coach. I actually shared the story with coachable last week about the first time he had appeared on my radar screen. It was 2014. You and I were both at East Carolina.

The team was ranked and you told me after a late Sunday practice was this guy has something he knows defense, and I'll admit I rolled my eyes merely just looking at temples record time. But anyway, of course, you were talking about Matt rule and of course Temple pulled off the upset that weekend and six years later, here I am just to tell you that you were right.

I know you're a really great green wall all week about a month for the worst day ever leaving driving rainstorm. All well.

Medically pretty good. You could deliver Wilco and compete against them in the league and select audit for L ball with graphics as you mention. Five years after that. You guys competing in the big 12 championship game this past season with him being the coach of the Panthers. What do you think from his college resume will translate well and what do you think you will most have to adapt to map your communicator. It all right thank you for your organized all of the live dog leader so I think that leg felt like you going to do very well at your quote about your family itself in all of Bridgewater and I got how that how that all unfold to be important for you to draft a bunch of really good because it requires about the sermon. Try to build up that fumbled much as we can get a good start really good owner. Great for doing that I got trouble but go back so you could start so fun to see the graph you started there with quarterbacks and speaking of that, you had your fair share with Oklahoma. But there's one rumor I heard you. Maybe it was Baker Mayfield talking about in regard to North Carolina days that I want to get to the bottom of Baker said you almost convinced him to transfer to East Carolina how close was that actually happening. Quote the guy we had conversations about it, but I think you are thinking Baker made his mind up to leave the unit pretty well set on ongoing Oklahoma folk are thinking three points to him but I don't know that that was ever in a trunk. I'm going to drink school with the last dance documentary dominating up much of the sports consciousness the last month or so, we've explored many different angles to the Michael Jordan story.

We recently had Roy Williams on Hornets coach James Drago, heck, former suite mates with Michael back in Carolina and I think you have a neat angle here Oklahoma is one of just four FBS schools to where the junkman logo. Because of that. Have you had a chance to chat with Michael. You will have a lot of fun connecting with all of their older staff job. Another thought of getting that done, or getting them down every day and great great partnership with the tremendous brown players of love the Lord done a good job of taking care of the players and staff and been cool on filling it in, celebrating that with with the slots that Ludwig and I hear coaches high school, college, heck even pro trying to keep their players engage when they can't be exactly with them at the moment with this documentary telling them I'm in college gets you know with branding and that seems to be a buzzword the last 10 to 15 years with professional sports. It's even bleeding down the college update kids think that they're automatically going to be on campus and they're going to be the goner stepping into an organization. Michael's mentality when you see this guy feeling slighted all the time and his level.

Determination are there ways you can try to reach your players through this doc you series that has again dominated much of the consciousness in sports figure.

So many what you are remarkable, very gifted athlete with good success go so much beyond that immediate fix ability to consistently perform ability to block out all different destruction that will going on when you're celebrity about magnitude and still consistent with our level. It's pretty amazing the guidelines of the termination of the new school. In some ways, but another competitor in His mental health issues very old-school and so perfect combination about the great example for anybody not just people not X of the kind of mindset are competitive in the focus you have to be day in and day out your suit, seven and eight of the last dance document here this weekend. Riley, the head coach of the Oklahoma sooners with the serum sport sometimes. I know you love hoops.

I've seen you courtside in Oklahoma City thunder's game games.

You once told me you and coach stoops would've put Russell Westbrook at free safety if he played football. Who is your guy like following MBA or college basketball whose Lincoln Riley's favorite basketball all my Michael and for sure about no question about acute because a lot of my favorite part of the big Kobe can always love the way he reported for a lot of the same reason. Currently a lot of guys that are fun to watch. Still certainly a fan of the MBA thought about some new young player coming to the Lucan and Bob but the error of Michael and Kobe magic bird almost lots of soap talk with Paul about on the line about that on the missile. Do me a favor to trolley the next time NBA basketball games are allowed to have fans in the stands. Find a way to watch Zion Williamson need to do it. I was on my jogging off all alike.

So healthy. The special and being behind-the-scenes on it covering him at Duke is one year there I could tell you everything you heard it's even better than that. And David cut cliffy was with us. I think he said, like you were noting with Russell Lester. He had him on the football field. Coach K allow that to happen, he would've put him at defensive end, it just would be game over. Without a doubt, but since Jordan was your guy prime Jordan, where is he going to football field because MJ is that I got. Hey, maybe if it wasn't baseball. It might've been basketball and football. Excuse me yeah yeah know a lot of places the government only receiver I think of other job that you put back there free safety and health, physical, and tenacious. He was smart, cerebral gathered there be a lot more places you could put him in the office selecting back on your days at East Carolina before we let you go out on this. What do you think was the greatest lesson you learn. Transitioning from being the youngest offense of coordinator in FBS when you were hired by Russell McNeil to then being groomed to be a head coach in your few years as the OC for Bob stoops in Oklahoma.

What you think. As you reflect back was the greatest lesson you learned from your North Carolina state all you know, or the ability to adapt. I think we had different skills that Easter a lot of them. Then we got it than we found it. Oklahoma relatives are competition and you gotta get up on your wrist people wanting to be different in a lot of ways I think it challenges the way in the code coach took out the and also I would say I think just the you know the coach always trying to block any player or anybody else that you're trying to put yourself in the best situation to possibly can about being able to get really good players and have no great staff friends is important, but having the alignment of the administration on the alignment of the community of the school almost things matter in order to be really good.

We had a tremendous run verities Carolina were politely a lot of things stands were full. We had a great idea.

All we have a lot of support that was really tremendous and it was a fun run. I hated the fit in the way it did, but I'm also excited about where this thing right now with Monica Patrick about God. We were in the coach will often we always want you Carolina can always keep up. Always check Loretta card game started to see them have a chance to build that thing out on back live there very likely should be to memories that stick out mostly for me.

Walking off the field with Chancellor Ballard hanging 70 on North Carolina and I think it was you were a guy next to me and said that you put up 789 yards in that game and you kind of your eyes kinda dilated. I got big because that number. It's just massive 70 point something ever expect to do that and then Virginia Tech. I was just trying to get down and get interviews or whatever. I didn't know they were holding the elevator for coaches if you knock off Virginia Tech was ranked at the time in your storm into the elevator and then it was you and coach Nichol turned around just what the hell are you doing here is where a lot of great victories about your well-being" to win the big American Carolina the way we almost was beginning to think on the base. Probably will always be. Probably my favorite because when our time get over the hump. "God will beat up on Ohio State the week before. The one that wanted in Blacksburg was thoroughly the pinnacle of our time there was about the programming a great celebration show in the triad parts of the triangle as well. I noticed a strong portion of the pirate nation residing. Thanks for making time it's appreciated.
