Figure out if the rumor I've been told is true about our next guest NC State head football coach Dave Dorn is with us. I heard through the grapevine that either now or at one time you were a pretty mean fisherman. If you're out on the lake or on the water that you could catch them with the best of them. Is that true Dave Dorn appreciate your time.

By the way you affected them in a good story book love being on the water. One of my favorite things to do, want to knock out what's the biggest catch you ever had volcanic issues regarding about problem are most proud judges was without Holston River good friend of mine over Nashville to let Lucky's Menses date family members. But, 30 inch brown flyfishing over their time was the state record. I don't think still is but was an awesome day prior to my being here. I was probably 15 years ago I spent a lot of time in eastern North Carolina. Used to love going to Morehead city and see in the big rock Marlin tournament. They had over there.

We talk about 500 pounders being caught in such self all about that but let's get the football Dave Dorn with this year NC State coach when you are as banged up as you guys were upfront. A year ago how difficult does that make the evaluation process for some of the quarterbacks are looking at Devon Leary and Bailey Hochman how much difficult. Does it make it trying to evaluate what they did last year together wasn't just upfront. You know it, we were met one you mentioned that two of our tiedowns or factors. Receiver are pillbox running out of lineups all year, so there is kind of the you know musical chair lineup for some 11 different starting lineups offense last year because of injuries, not because we wanted to make it hard on any quarterback know whether their returning starter or those guys first time starters and so I made a challenging thought all the guys battled and fought through it and we've learned a lot from it, but is no doubt those account things that are difficult to plan for, particularly when it happened that weekend and week out when they were heading into camp last year. I just remember somebody tell me you're gonna want to keep an eye on this Leary kitty is a tremendous personality.

There's a moxie to their side.

He's magnetic so when you look at the sky as a rising sophomore and someone you said is the front runner to be the starting quarterback heading into camp. What distinguishes Leary from other quarterbacks that you worked with while going in the last lecture That we have a three-way race and between Matt McKay and Bailey Hochman and Devon and and it's really hard in football to get three players ready to position those unfortunate really for all three of them. None of them really jumped out just took it away where they could maximize the references, back and forth for camp and Matt ultimately won the job and then went to Bailey and then went to Devon through the coarser games and all worked really hard it is to have a production out of position and maybe unfair to them you notice The Font Together Can Lead Offense to Score More Points but You Know I Think Devon Is on Strike. His Ability to Get past Bad Play Very Quickly May Also You Know to Come and Practice in the Next Plate Was a Touchdown. You Know He's Just One of Those Guys Very Resilient.

He Is, Guys Respect Him on the Stand in There and Take a Hit. Now Is Not a Guy That Makes Excuses. He Never Throws Players under the Bus Is Very Supportive of His Teammates and so You Got A Lot Of Intangibles. The Guys like Him Now Just a Matter of Having On-Field Success on Game Day to Help Him Rule Was with Us A Few Weeks Ago and He Was Talking about When He Was Sold on Derek Brown Be in the Seventh Pick Out Of Auburn and He Said I Watched a Game That They Lost Last Year When There Was No Chance They Were Going to Win, and This Guy. He Was Playing in a Game.

He Probably Didn't Have To Play Because He Knew He Was Gonna Be a Top 10 Pack and He Said I Just Saw How Hard That He Went and I Said I Want That Guy on My Football Team. Is There Any Example of Something Positive You Saw on Tape. Last Year, Something That Sticks out Where Your like Man This Is Somebody When Things Are Going Well. I Know I Want to Have on This One. A Lot Of That Starting about, You Know, We Were Stuck in the Nation for Freshmen Played in Games Last Year in College Football, and A Lot Of Guys Got Ripped Prior to When They Should Be out There and You Saw Improvement from Jordan Houston from Bam Bam Night You Know throughout the Season. Icky Left Tackle Was Just Tremendous As the Season Went on for Two Freshmen to Play Left Tackle.

The Way He Played and Competed in the Sky. Things Really Get You Excited about What's Common There Were Flashes from Drake, Slashes from Tate Wilson.

Just A Lot Of Things That Get You Excited Now As Excited As You Can Be When You Win a Game She Know, but Knowing That There Are Freshmen and They're All Back and They've All Been Battle Tested.

I Think You Know Definitely Gives You Some Hope This Year NC State Head Football Coach. I Want to Talk about Recruiting Because You You View Things in a Different Way Than Most.

One Thing You Said Last Year to Us That Stood out You Were Talking about This Might've Been Two Years Ago You Were Talking about How You Viewed the Growth of the City of Raleigh As Being a Selling Point for You.

You Would Talk to Kids and Prospects about Tech Jobs That Were Coming to Raleigh and Reasons Why Raleigh Was a Great Place to Live and How the State of North Carolina Really Has Grown.

Then I Look at the 2021 Class and I See This State Is Just Loaded with Talent. This Particular Year, and It Doesn't Seem like That's Gonna Slow down to 2022 or 2023. How Related Is State Growth with Overall Talent You Think I Related You Not to Get Started with Charlotte Years Ago, One of the Fast Growing Cities and Now It's Raleigh with One of the Fastest Growing Cities or Populations or Expanding the High Schools Are Being Built and Opened Them.

You Know This Is Massive Growth and Major Cities in the State Contracting Corporations to Plant Their Seeds in Her Corner and and I Think the Number of Really Quality Academic Universities in the State Attracts Patients Hereto, Because the Applicants That They Can Get Locally Further on Your Finger, Corporations, and the Internships That Have Been No Available Tour Guys Second to None and Quality of Life.

I Think Something That Really Gets Understated in Recruiting and Thrusted to Strengthen We Take Advantage of That Raleigh Is Just a Great Place to Live in It so Accessible to Out-Of-State Recruits As Well As Kids, Are You Being Close As It Is to Our Campus Background. He Says He Views Clemson As the Biggest Opponent in Recruiting Because They've Won Titles and That's Ultimately What Everybody Wants to Do. Do You Agree with That or Do You View That the In-State Teams of the Ones That You Kinda Need to Protect against As You Try to Recruit the Best Roster You Can.

There's A Lot Of You Know, One of the Top Teams around and Has Been for My Tenure in the NC State Going for Seven Years It's Been Clemson or Florida State Is One. The Conference and Then Part of the Playoffs so That the Pain That You Contend with. Think Having 40 Schools in the State You Have Those Schools and Then You Know You Figure Bordering States from Tennessee to Virginia and Then Georgia and Florida Come up so There's A Lot Of Competition Here and It Will Remain That Way. I Was Thinking Only Look at the Number Players from the State of North Carolina There Actively in the NFL Seventh in the Country for NFL Players, and so There's a Reason People Come in Here and Get 10 Classes. A Lot Of the Young Men Want to Stay Home with Our Families Can Be Close by, and Be Part of the Experience with the Serum Sports of Giant Red You Are Confident, Very Confident That Games Are to Be Played This Year in College Football. Just Because You Have Resources and Access That We Don't with Bukhari Again ACC Officials What Gives You. What's the Root of Your Confidence That Were to Be Playing Games This Fall You. I Don't Have Any inside You Guys Are Getting into. I Know How Important Football Is in the Athletic World for Keeping the Doors Open.

Not Not for Universities but for Athletic Departments and It's Just Such a Revenue Generator That Gets Very Critical from University Value for the Athletic Departments to Function the Way That They Want to Function and Then I Think You Notice Big Picture Was Out Of All the Things You Come Out Of in Our Country on Exports Is Always Been the One Thing the Car Brought Us All Back Together and You Know I Know 9/11 Football Is a Big Part of That Just Having Been a Part of College Football Not Happened and What It Does for Our Country. You Can See It, Probably in the Ratings This Weekend Watching the Golf Match with Tiger and Phil with Bert Brady and Eli Payton.

I Just Think It's Such a Big Deal for Sports to Be There. I'm Not Saying It Should Trump Our Safety or Any of Those Things, but You Know It Is Very Hopeful and Optimistic That It Will Does Dave Doran's Golf Game Look More like Tiger Woods or Tom Brady Tom Brady Quote Did Have a Heckuva Chip and from the Fairway.

Though I Have Not Played Any Golf Tourney Quarantine Fishing When I Have Free Time and Recruitment Live in the Zoom World Man Trying to Keep This Thing Going. You Know Virtually Best We Can. Tom Brady Has the Hundred 50 Yard Chip and You Get the 30 Pound Brown Numbing One of the Other. You Can Take Your Pick. The Tote I Just Hope Things Are Going Well. I Hope You're Safe. Look Forward to Chatting Sometime Soon before the Start of the Season.

Thanks so Much for Joining Us in the Triad. Thanks for Having Me on a Go Pack Go That's Coach of the NC State Wolfpack Dave Doran Kind Enough to Join Us and It Seems Robert.

My Suspicion Was so That I Had Good Information That Doran Pretty Pretty Big Fishermen When He to Get out on the Lake. I Don't Know If He's That Hard. And Now, and Edward Whacks Him Still Need to Write out Still Need to Figure out a Time That I Can Get out on the Boat with Ed Hardin Because I'm Taking Him up on That Offer. Also, We Need to Have Stan Cotton on. I Need to Finally Go over to the Radio Ranch and Watched the Outlaw Josie Wales's Favorite Clint Eastwood Movie. Haven't Seen That before, so
