Welcome to The Daily Platform from Bob Jones University in Greenville South Carolina today on The Daily Platform will your sermon preached at a special evangelistic service on the campus of Bob Jones University evangelist Jeremy Fraser, a dynamic Bible preacher with an emphasis on revival and evangelism will be continuing the sermon from yesterday from Hebrews 9 title to appointments, you cannot avoid as you consider this, there is a danger and as I possibly thought my heart breaks because some of you tonight. Inevitably, numbers will eventually when you die you will die and somebody will die without Jesus statistics tells us clearly that he would die on Christ and because of that. Where would you end up. We would end up in hell because he still gets an eternal God, there's an eternal punishment. This is what you need God's eternal sacrifice for many of you, though in this room there's been a time in your life where you have understood this message God is started in your heart and your soul.

You knew you needed Christ. You see, you did you turn from your sin and Messiah you trust in Jesus and him alone. You cried out to him. The Scripture makes it clear for whoever calls upon the name the Lord. They shall be saved. But consider what that means, with Scripture as it says this. Remember in Romans chapter 10 verse nine that if you would confess with your mouth, literally, that Jesus is Lord, why would you say that because a repentant heart you turned him you believe in your heart to go to the raised him from the dead, that person is a person who goes from the head to the heart. We got a one my sin but I need Christ. And there's a submission there. This is not just Jesus I want you to save me. But I want to live for you.

I have met that she said Jeremy on Jesus to save me for my sin but I want to give my life so I told the truth when I say that I say that you're not ready to make any sense when a person is come broken before the Lord, they realize there's no way in and of themselves they can that they can make their way to heaven. They there's this element of real brokenness over who they are.

They need Messiah and they turned to him and when that happens to a person they present to the Lord to be saved. What is the Scripture say since whoever does this well, they shall be saved. And as you consider this for those who are in Christ. There is a delight – for those who are in Christ.

That seems a little more than a little weird, especially if you're without Jesus, but if you're in Christ there is a delight in death.

I may consider that you go from from from this world to the eternal bliss of heaven and God and who he is and Christ having to think about. No more pain and no more sorrow we think about all the trinkets like that, you know, that's awesome experience over the pains of experience sorrows of experience, even death of a loved one, and yet no sin, and having all these are innocents trinkets with the greatest glories of heaven as you enter into it. Seeing the site is as Scripture teaches in Hebrews 12 this this site. It's almost unfathomable, and the excitement and the joy this heavenly city with the with the people of God, and anything about many of those people who have gone on before you do. Now you will see I mean and you enter into this eternity and then you see Christ the true glory of heaven.

I think about that. Nobody who dies without my brother lives in. It was in Christ there is no way he is thinking. Somehow I was to go back to earth. There's none of that for the true believer so I look at that's it is a danger death without Christ. There's a delight in death.

If you are in Christ, think about Scripture that it is the gift of God, which is eternal life. The Scriptures is of God gives you a gift that's a good thing coming to the thief on the cross would Jesus say peace and behold today you will be with me where in paradise.

Paradise falls in clippings 121 for to me to live is Christ and to die is what gay even Paul said in first grade, things that death is swallowed up in victory. When you consider this for a minute you go when there's a danger death at such a delight.

If you're in Christ. And so tonight as we see this and as we have illustration for illustration all around us within the culture.

I would look at you and say this. Are you ready for this appointment. Are you ready unfortunately I think sometimes this age and stage and I I know would sometimes somehow think that were sort of invincible. But we all know that's not true number one given a point with death over to the second one you look at verse 2027 it says, but after this the judgment. So what is that supposed to mean here. Okay, so we could say this number one human appointment death but number two tonight you have an appointment with God.

In other words, after this does come judgment and in Scripture is clear about the different kinds of judgment that are there. Actually there are two main kind of judgment you could think about Scripture, one would be a judgment for those who are without Jesus Christ, we call them lost people see before you are in Christ, you are lost and you need to be found. I would call these. Also people but is lost.

I would say that another name for them would be unbelievers. There are some of you right now, that's where you are. You're not a believer you might have a mental belief in Jesus, since it will sure he existed. I mean for you to think that he didn't exist with make you an idiot. So you don't want to be that it that way and suggested they will historically sure he existed, but that doesn't mean you believed upon Jesus as your Lord and Savior. So for you. Maybe you are an unbeliever, or maybe would say a non-Christian, I would say this is funny because we live in a culture where supposedly America is a Christian nation that you know that is because everyone in America saved and I know way and got colds that call themselves Christians as well and that the truth is, was that even mean but Scripture is clear. Take your Bible for moment will finish off my care. But I want you to the sticker Bible go to the book of Revelation was to Revelation chapter 20.

Turn with me there for just a moment because the first judgment that you see before.

Really. And in this passage here will be a judgment called the great white throne judgment. This is not a judgment for believers because everyone who goes to this great white throne judgment in the end end up in a place called the lake of fire and this is very very clear, you read Revelation, you got what's called the ordo eschaton into the order of end times and you gotta work through this and it's like you this letter to the churches. You also do like where where are the churches and in many of the scene in heaven and you need and also you got these. These flags got all that you have the true glacial time is seven years you give at the end of that were Christ calms and establishes his kingdom for millennial reign. Scripture would deal with that as well thousand years on the earth and yet the end of the millennial reign what happens. One last uprising before everything is pushed away and there's to be no more sin, God will deal ultimately with sin and with even sinners notice this, it's verse 10 dealing with the devil. At that point time in verse 10 it says it again.

Revelation 2010 and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone in where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever know. This again is future hasn't happened yet but it will happen. The devil will have his day could say a sense in court he will be ultimately cast like a fire.

Look at verse 11. I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven, they fled away, and there was found no place for them.

So it is almost like this majestic scene in heaven where everything from heaven and earth seems to pull back from because of the glories of Almighty God, and it can't stand the glory, but it pushes back to this this great white throne. Verse 12 and I saw the dead, small and great stand before God, who would that be, it would be people that if I were name names on history. There are some names I could name tonight and you and all I know that name and I could name. Other names and you go. I don't know who that is all is lost. People small and great, will stand before God. The books were opened.

Another book was opened, which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which are written in the books, according to their works. Maybe at first glance you by civil journey.

According to their works.

I guess if the good works outweigh the bad will get there but will wait. Look at verse 13 and the sea gave up the dead which were in it and and death and hell or Hades delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged, every man according to their works of theirs up that again. But wait. Verse 14 shows us they all end up in the same place and death and hell or Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, and whose owner was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire is a tragic how many of you have family members who are immediate family members may be a mom or dad or brother or sister who are without Christ.

Many cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, friends and neighbors. This is sobering, they could end up there. God uses people to reach people. All that's always ordained that and I will hear the preacher. This is an element where God has you where you are for a purpose and yet we can't save them, but we can sure declare good news to them in and help them with the gospel, but I look at this ago. This breaks my heart. There'll be people and yet this is all glorifying God because it shows that God is holy God is righteous is the beauty of his holiness and righteousness, because he would not be a good God. It involves elitist I let everyone in the be wrong of him as a righteous judge. As of this this judgment. This is amazing because now here's Christ who paid it all for us and you look at this and say this is this is a serious judgment that should frighten you. If you are without Christ it doesn't frighten you one day it will because you will pronounce the Lord God the father, but there's a second judgment and I want to take your Bible for minute. Go with me to first grade things take your Bible to me in first Corinthians as you turn there with chapter 3. Almost on your first printing chapter 3.

As we look at this passage we see the second kind of judgment. This is for a judgment action for for Christians for true Christians who I would call the corporate true believers. For those who have been found in Christ. This is called the bema seat if you will be technical maybe called the Bama seed. But the ideas and is the judgment seat of Christ, and we probably heard of this and say something about this real quick is as light as I as I touch on this for second, I want you to know this. This is not a place where believers will face their sin.

Did you hear that there's been some really awful preaching of the past.

Where were people would say nothing like a holy PowerPoint you know in the sky and out all the sins you've ever done your life to be there, but it's interesting how Scripture says something different. Let me remind you of one of open anything when my favorite verses. I think of Romans eight verse one is, is that there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ, if you're here tonight in your in Christ there is no condemnation know what what happened when you got saved, past and present, and even future sins all done away with. You were declared righteous. You were not righteous God made you righteous that it's crazy to think about that God will look down from heaven, and if you're in Christ, he doesn't see you. He sees Jesus, the perfect righteousness of God in Christ and your thinking that's not me, not practically. That's why we need to be sanctified. When you think about this is this is an amazing truth socializing. What I can be judge for our sins.

And what's the point of the bema seat of Christ will let's look at this for just a moment in first grade.

In three verse 11 it says for other foundation can no man lay than that is languages Jesus Christ okay so Christ, the foundation verse 12 now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones would Hayes stop straw stubble. There remains work shall be made manifest away. The second you think about in a fire. What will happen to well gold, silver, precious stones world that's to make it through such to be purified. What happens the wood hay and straw stubble. In a moment's consent. Every man's work shall be made manifest, much as for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try every man's work what it what sort it is. And if any man's work abide which he had built upon, he shall receive a reward.

Don't you think about this for just a moment. Okay, you could say that the bema that this is judgment seat of Christ is actually a place of examination of that's clear because again verse 13 talks about every man's work shall be made manifest in other words, we will be examined are our our life will be examined. How do we live as believers. How do we act how we respond how to do what what we done in a sense for Christ to get when you consider this and right motives of those things we we often fail in this area, but I would say this is there is a great great examination and you think about this examination but my mind thinks about the apostle Paul who one at one point in his life was standing at bema and acts chapter 24 remembers. He stood there at the at this bema.

What was he doing he was being try by Felix and and and sure enough, he said this I believe in the resurrection of the just of the unjust cases because I believe this was he say next 24 verse 16 he says I hear do I exercise myself to have always a conscience void of offense towards God and towards men so he is being examined any say on totally innocent-I'm a constant since that's innocent between me and God, because I seem to get things right with God and seek to be right with mankind.as may be righteous. I seek to fulfill that I seek to do it to get things right again with people but he saying he exercises his conscience void of offense towards God and towards man.

He's been examined and actually he is innocent but is at bema when you think about this is not just a place of examination.

But if you notice verse 14 if any man's work abide which he built upon, he shall receive a what reward growing up I competed in different sports. I competed in tae kwon do. My dad's techno instructor and so I competed talking around the country and got to certain point, we get a certain belt and waited 20 years for you next degraded next degree and during the process of time. I asked her to gymnastics.

I and I Giles I will not be backflips you… We all had flips and and is crazy because I was can't pick it up real fast start compete in gymnastics around the country at and and then later in soccer.

So because play you have a bit more than normal sport existed more than normal kind of idea sport of soccer match support at play in and honestly in all of this is interesting because I am one point I really was and as I long to go to the Olympics. I wanted to win a gold medal and went. When I think about that pass though I remember one point time travel.

This international judge in gymnastics and we had a place with one of the limbic head coaches there and we got this one guy's house and sure enough on his on his nights and he was going to like me to Tokyo some sort. We go there. I see this gold medal and the amazing the gold-medal billet exceed one person wins a gold-medal what happens if it is a bit examined and they've actually won the competition and it's been they didn't win and they didn't cheat. If you nominate say they want and what happened to the other will stand there and there's a there's a bema you could say you could give the give the gold medal winner and get to the silver and the bronze. And so what happens it you don't stand up there and sure enough there getting that reward is a get that reward what's often happening. Oftentimes there's tears. These guys are crying these laser crying and and sure enough as a get in the mail around their neck and there they're not tears of sorrow, they're not going man like everyone quit looking at me. I'm so embarrassed and I feel awful but that's not what the UN are tears of great joy and excitement he could say of happiness because they just want some would say that they want trained so hard that in 40 years.

I want to go back it's it's all worth just that moment thing about the way they work for the gold-medal. But consider this the beam of the judgment seat of Christ, for all true believers you will be examined, but praise God you be rewarded a place of great reward should steer us as believers, like when I consider this passage for you to think ways again. So yes, we will stand before God with with our life will also stand in the sense of we we will face death as well so we need to be ready for these things by consensus. Think about Revelation 22 the very end of the Bible, Revelation 2212 says that this is Jesus himself, Jesus, and behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me to get to every man according to his work shall be a speaker for the true believer that we are judged by that and he comes for this great with his great reward.

What I consider this your essay before God is up as a Christian you give account of your life that this should motivate you that should stir you why consider this, what is it in for Christian, I would say a couple things one would be this should make you have a desire to be right with God and others me that that's what Paul did say next 24 verse 16 he he exercised himself that this conscience would offense towards God and towards man on your exercise. Some of you have not exercised may be, for the last seven weeks. I sort of fit into that category.

Not real well, exercising, but some of you have good motivation, new family plan on exercising physically this semester. I may try to be consistent with that and when I got out there okay yeah we we have good month with good intentions, but I will tell you is if you haven't done in a while. And all of a sudden you get go to go do it tomorrow. It's a tomorrow's a day and you go and you work out real hard so he will be so you'll be hurting by tomorrow night minutes. At that usually takes a couple days but no knuckle is not. Not when you have invented a lot while I was on bunch earlobe in the cow body hurts what happens and you exercise on a consistent basis.

You feel better. Don't you see, you have even greater stamina you can. You could put up more weight in one since 20 working out in some form or fashion. And when you look at this. This should so stir us as believers to seek to say you know what I want to make sure that I'm right with God not hold anything back then and I think about this right now some of you gods bringing to this point of what you do with your sin, because here you are now in Christ you been in Christ, and yet God is putting pressure on you because he saying that sin that you committed to or consistent with over this break you. You need to get that right. So for the believer.

What we do do our sanctification. Your love for the Lord. We seek to humble ourselves and confess it, we agree with God against ourselves were broken. Dear God forgive me God change me. We wait we run the gun which we run the other people were the biggest struggles I face back in God's got all my life. At 17 I remember coming back to school and was probably under the first or second week back in school and and I knew as a senior in high school that I die I had done all this wrong stuff. I died in all the strong stuff and I already asked God to forgive me but the truth is I didn't just think it's got a sin against people and an autosensing against the institution for sure. I wrote a walk-in back then to some form of a disciplinary committee or whatever and I went to them. I was so nervous because I knew by the time I was on tell him the things I had been involved in things I've been doing but be expelled along to be right with God. It wrong to be wrote. People going in there in a heartbeat so fast and I said I've got to talk to somebody. I told him I said I've asked God forgive me about these things and he has given tell you some things. I know you can expelled by the time of done. I begin to unload to get you slander this this midway through the man says Jeremy saw. He said we are so thankful that God has got a hold of your life.

We've been praying for you and we forgive you know it's amazing is to have a clear conscience.

Such freedom there. You don't worry soon you guilty because you look like you don't know that it is is is Dr. Pettit look at me. The thing I like peanut you always kinda feel like you're everyone's out to get you in and yet firm.

For me it's this is freedom there for a true believer. Consider this.

What if next Friday is a day that you go to meet the Lord okay what would you do well II don't think if you're in Christ should not manage everything. My trip to Hawaii would go to get there anyway probably soak up a user think about this. What you would seek rewards for the sake of God's glory. I mean, they're there for you is motivation so that should motivate God want to do this for you and for your glory. I mean you you would consider in seek after after people you would seek to reach the lost for their good and for God's glory.

Think about this from and aren't you so thankful for the person who lovingly challenge you and confront you with the gospel and how God used them to maybe bring you to Christ with animosity toward the person you're grateful some of you have roommates this way any Christ your friends or family members of truth. As we seek to reach the lost for their good for God's word. We would say this, we would seek total commitment to Christ holding nothing back going all out is that you as you consider this now let's land this point.

Take your Bible go back to where we started in Hebrews chapter 9 is a term that Hebrews chapter 9 only give you really two illustrations. One would be very pertinent and here is how many of you have ever taken a test and exam and you really worked ready. You finally have razor to consider like super proud about what, loser like Harry know it's only when you weave. I think we've all been there for you where you didn't put in the time or maybe maybe you thought it was another day you went to class and you were legitimate.

They can that's the day… It was because next week you know and and then they give you the pain that that the testing in your granola, your nerves, not even write your name you focus on putting down the question why you like to question number two, number three manual start on the back and flip it over and you and you finish that test and you and you know you know you did a horrible you know you failed, you didn't know these answers. What an awful feeling. Many of you have been there and and and hopefully won't go there again. Okay, I think about have ever been ready I were you really study to put an app for the timeline if it's like that you can't wait, you're likely thinking or trying to give it up and do the testing you get to designate a question or want to you. How you are what you find any fish off even check it over yet time went very well to get done, you know, you just can't wait to get a grade because you know you know you did really well on you know he put the time and he studied and what an awesome feeling and that this is no test. This is your life.

So when he tells us this out of anger of love for you to be prepared and when I think about this.

I would also say this, you know why think about my kids in and around what time over the summer. St. my look for the kids and their little bit Littler I said hey you guys guess is coming this weekend. Your uncle Brent and Danielle and and broken Price and Blair. These are the cousins in Exeter, dip to the trailer this weekend is up to in the cupboard and and and they go really, really outside that's okay I need you to clean your room to get ready and the got okay and it ran in their own you're ready get ready and I would say that that is not normal only go clean your room that I with a raid and they are all excited cleaning the room.

Why because someone I loved was coming.

He was 927 says, and as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Notice this so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. In other words, I would say this way. Jesus has come, just like he said he would. The first time and he only also promises that he is coming again.

Could you imagine what this but this semester here we are in world concern. I don't know yet what happened with the government. What can happen with you this COBIT you can freak out everything and it could be that that shirt of God and is it is mercy and kindness levels and draws us out.

Rafters is the point is he's coming again. So what is he say this because in his love for us. He longed for you to be ready to cut a these appointments are unavoidable, but if you're ready. And these are the greatest things ever do I need to bore you go glory that he's in a calm, is aiming for him is a reward you. This is amazing if you are in Christ and if you're ready for these appointments. But I also want you tonight. Some of you are here and this is tragic for you.

Some of you when it comes to your own spiritual life.

The truth is, you know you're the Christ in God's kindness is drawn you to himself. Don't reject his love.

See when you reject his love. You will receive his wrath, turn from your sins. Trusting Christ make on saving time you been listening to the conclusion of the sermon by evangelist Jeremy Frazier.
