Welcome to the Christian Car Guy radio show talk show dedicated to helping Christians buy and sell cars by the book the blue book knobby orange book, but by God's book, the Bible called the Christie car guy with your questions. 186-6342 that's one 866-34-TRUTH 7884 as being a Christian have to do with buying a car you're about to find out. Here's your host Ronnie Gilmore today on the Christian car guys show we are talking junk yes where else on the Christian network would they consider talking junk on telling American pickers as nothing on us because we have our very own Christian young junkyard.

But today we are talking junk specifically when did your hope, your dream, you know something that you would wish for that special car you really this was the one he always wanted but when you bought it, you have to admit it didn't take long and you realize what you thought was a piece of junk wells such was the case for me and my Opel GT.

Yes, since I was little boy I wanted that little baby corvette. My father brought one home when they were brand-new and I just thought someday when I'm old enough to be able to buy myself an open GT so I save my money and and I did all those things in about 20 years old. There it was Albuquerque newspaper for sale 1969 Opel GT banana yellow fire was so excited this was my dream car but then I have to do that. I pour money into that car brought. I mean, it was pitiful.

I cannot tell you how many things I ended up having to do with that contract. That was the car that the driveshaft literally fell out. If you ever had that happen to her car back when we had real drive cars. The driveshaft would fall out of it it it was like Juergen but that Olympic Games doing a pole vault. The card leaps into the air because the driveshaft digs into the pavement and polevault your car that was mild. GT I've seen them come loose on both the inter alia row right out into the side. The before that I know what you have in about about the pullout and thing, because it's happened before.

We disconnected the driveshaft and then the it cannot dislodge and get bailed down out of the hangar and that it is not a pretty sight to the rear end in my Opel GT. I put a transmission amount GT. It was it was my dream car, but it turned out to be junk. So were asking you today. When did your dream car or anything else for that matter turn to junk you call in 866-34-TRUTH 878-848-6634 truth it doesn't have to be a car necessarily just something that you dreamed you hope you wished, but then when you got home. It didn't take long and you determined you have bought yourself a piece of junk you call and you share that 866-348-7884. Bless us with your store. Really we would love to hear it. The Lord put on your heart because you call us at 86634 truth digitally gifted but here to help us out naturally. Today was such a topic we have our very own Christian junkyard guy Bob from 1 to 9. You pull it and I'm anxious to hear what Bob can assure today. Bob can tell us how he separates the wheat from the chaff so to speak, how do we know what cars get crushed in which cars get their parts harvested so to speak.

So welcome Bob, good morning brothers great see I got to ask Lynette a tight fit six that have a name that did you give Leander did you put it down. Well Bob, it's even funnier than that because if to know me was when I was about six grade II greatest 6'5" tall in my inseam was like 34, 36 my waist was 26 inches. My mother searched all over the city of Chicago to find me a pair pants and the only pants she could find me a bright yellow corduroys and so for that whole school year. Believe me, Bob. The only pair pants I had were these bright yellow corduroys.

I had worm every day and guess what my nickname was banana.

There was banana parents flipping himself in the banana yellow Opel GT anyway Bob it's can be fascinating to hear how he separates the wheat from the chaff or some of these cars you had some surprises over the years and lots of surprises rather sometimes the very worst looking thing that comes in there you think. Well that was going to straighten up her ass.

But we crank we try to crank a mile before so I know what kind of heart they have a hard I mean the engine and several times the years, the ones that look absolutely the worst they were parked because they looked bad uniting because offenders are fallen off versus major problem or something like that. And deep inside, underneath all the rest and cobwebs.

Instead, there's a perfect grade in the engine diamond in the rough and ready to hear more from Pat on how you separate the wheat from chaff and then at the bottom of the hour.

We have Ford sales analyst Eric Merkel with this need to be sharing some big changes there saying up there in Detroit, of the type of vehicles. Americans are buying, you know, the days of the SUV and some of that stuff may be changing nursing some big changes to hear from Eric and see how those changes may affect you and then at the end of the show when appraisal by the real black book. That's where we search the Bible for hidden treasure. Cry out for discernment, lift up our voice for understanding and speaking of harvesting parts for old cars while I was studying Isaiah 17 this week and I became all too aware that there is a harvest coming on the earth. And it's not necessarily talk about the good the Lord really did give me some insights and harvest I'd never seen before Norman get to share that coming up the end of the show in our appraisal by the real black book. I am Robbie Gilmore, the Christian car guy 35 years in the retail automobile business, but more importantly your brother in Christ, the Christian car – I was changing the way people look at their cars. They need to be paid for no debt. It's watching those people buy cars and going to tremendous amounts of payments. All that stuff you just at that was a heartbreaker and led to us doing Michelle and into the idea of keeping your car once you get out of that cars need tender loving care and talk about that today they need a name like old red you think about it. You see tractors they been running out there an element since the 40s what you think truth is if you maintain a car and last as long as you do cars need to be safe and driven safely. Wear your seatbelt. Don't speed if you're truly following Jesus. If he was driving the car ahead of you. Would you be bond buying because you know Jesus would be speed. It's estimated. Americans waste this is this is this is factual stuff you folks.

It's estimated. Americans waste 200 million gallons of gas a week on speeding again. This is a live show and we want to hear your testimony anything that you may have a question about car.

Whatever you got object question. Guess what we got Bob here you call us 866-34-TRUTH 87884.

Specifically today. What were looking for the story that you've got on your heart that you need to shares of time you wished you. Hope you dreamed like me at my Opel GT. If I could only get my hands on this car if I don't get my hands on this computer. Whatever it was. Maybe it was a tough life then then my life would be made, but that turned out to be a piece of junk you call us with that story.

866-348-7884 and as always we want to tell you that we have so much stuff in our website.

If you don't get to hear the rest of the show when you're dying to hear Bob story is Bob Gallant share Bob stripped fresh off the mission field. He's got a lot of maturity dates you want here that you can tune in later. Just go to Christian car guy.com and click on the podcast page and you can get our show later today or any show that we've done. I also have a story very similar to yours will get more into than a little bit that I had that dream car and I had to have it and I worked and worked hard at the end. That scream scrimped and saved in and scrounge that the money day and and finally got it that we don't want to give them too much stuff back. As we get the music and all and the bottomless. I left the whole knob toward lots of money and brother. I've been there, done that. 866-34-TRUTH 87884 course there in our website. We also have all about the Jesus's labor love had so many encouraging words this week from folks on that and in a new station that's carrying our show in Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. We got a volunteer form from other people out there and so were thankful and welcoming those folks are listening now in Lexington Kentucky. Apparently they hear it at 1 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday so I'm so thankful the Lord continues to grow our ministry through that and again if you have a question you were able to call us and get on here today. You want to ask an expert you can after Christian body shop. Our Christian junkyard guiding my Christian mechanics all that stuff Christian car guy.com there's an ask an expert tabby go there. Figure out who would be best to answer your question, including me.

Obviously, and know you email must we get questions like that every week and I'm blessed by all of those just it's amazing Bob, I just always so thankful encourage when I get those emails is great to meet you in Kentucky because spent a lot of time in Kentucky we were stationed in the Mingo County, West Virginia this week on a mission trip and that we cross the river quite often worked a lot in Kentucky date. We are to hear about that mission trip and so much more that we need to hear your stories you call us at 866-348-7884 during the break, you call us.

We want to hear when you're riches turn the junk we now need to know all of 866-34-TRUTH. When did your dream you found out after you finally got a hold of it.

It wasn't the dream car you thought, or maybe the dream toy or the dream that you thought it was going to be, but it turned out that it was in a way, maybe even your worst nightmare. It was a piece of junk you Torn money into it. We would love to hear your story today, 866-348-7884 is a number to call him when did you experience that actually my producer told me that when he was a young man he wanted the easy bake oven. Imagine that.

He asked his dad's dad said what about a G.I. Joe tractor. I easy bake oven but no his mom. Through form, and he saw his dream begun. He opened up the box and there it was easy bake oven easy bake mix you now get that stuff is Bobby right it's easy bake everything he thought it was like a Michael once he plugged it in. It was nothing but a lightbulb in a box realities. They had a hard although I will say easy bake stuff is not bad. I have numbers of daughters and I've eaten a lot of it and you know is not very edible, even before you bake it you don't even have to add water that makes itself is pretty but I know you've got a story on your heart right now you got to share you got a call us at 866348866 meeting is toll-free and we got lines open and we need to hear from you. 866-348-7884 now Bob you. You've got your own story. The day was there. It was a beautiful red 1980 core. They absolutely had to have more. It was travel and lots of jury at and suspension ECs and everything and after I got her home started to realize all the clean this job for place to shop for base rates and our brother Lindsay tired GM can help me out with some of the work on thing that drips and rattles in the ragman interior and everything it just became more than that, I could be that I could finally just induced tallied a lot of inquiring minds need to know that that car make its way to the and you crush fiberglass can embed. It wasn't that far ago that actually so that car and bout my very first row back very first record about so the Corvette got a record and that was the beginning of my car hauling experience.

I got rid of something that that was eating all my money and found something that could help feed me a little bit.

The those are pretty modest days for me. All right, but we need you know this chart will be complete if you call in with your story so call now we have lines open 866348788486634 truth, that's good.

We got some ring and now but Bob there is a serious issue here that that there's people out there they've got yard art right now. Yard art is our favorite things and wives PUD make you has been. Get rid of that yard art is it out there it's it's somebody's trash is another person's treasure Antonia and the prices are real days that we took a little slight decrease.

The past couple of months that the price is still really good.

This is a pretty decent time and I we expected to get better, even better when you do with that extra move money that if you could just unload some of that yard art. That's it. Not there's not doing anybody good rest and in the ground.

It could do you some good by you know, and for that is his one and what is common about by yard art that's a monument that you keep the old car that years. One day I'm going to fix that one day and is sin that the monotony and wasted and then sometimes it's a red thing and now they eventually can be of the old cars we got. Greg is in Greenville, South Carolina Greg, we appreciate you calling so much this morning what you got for will I really like old times 80 40 there was a work for love that never never told you the bigger ones to uphold tractor trailer for the usual all that's the one I have over here left you cold on the road. It is now over yard like you there right now we need a battery fuel starter and the transmission housing separated.

It's just, diesel is an expensive expensive got so much into it already.

I can't believe you really looking for one social employer. That's it brings back memories because I've had several of those through the years in the my first row back about where and how cars and one car on the back and one back on the back on the stinger back there, you can how one Intel wanted same time, but that the injection pump went out on my and that was one of the my first diesel mechanic experiences a sounds like you got a pretty decent deal on that because the one I had to get the was like 1300 or something like that man.

I labor myself on that one and I was really proud because I just take it to a friend. The man's place and that I did it but I did it out there in the front where I could run inside and say hey. Is this right now.

I wasn't comfortable doing it unassisted that I couldn't really afford at that time to have somebody do it. I did it with a little too late. There are you doing God bless you, Greg. We appreciate you calling with that story you. It's amazing how many times we don't realize we have what we are supposed to have all along, but we just the grass look greener.

That's the kind of thing that happens out there appreciate so much you can calling with your story. We would love to hear it 866-348-7884 is the number to call in to share your it was your dream car, but then something just didn't work out. We got Eric Merkel already. These are just from 40 working to get him here at the bottom of the are you want to hear some sales analyst stuff that we need to hear your call about your story.

You know you bought this car and you thought it would be the one. Or maybe it was a toy or something like are like our our host producer had so we got on. She's called in with her story from when she thought it was going to be her treasure. That way, and we've got Eric Ford, please can you give us some big information from Fort about sales trends in America we have a lot Christian car – roll down when your dream turned and think man if I could work out. That's what we would love to hear from you today, 866-348-7884 is number calling the Christian car guys show today, 866-348-7884. Now, as promised, we have Eric Merkel here.

He is a sales sales analyst will afford. And there's some breaking news.

I think we all need to be aware written Eric Rob I'm doing great.

Were so appreciative of you making yourself available to share this information because there's a lot going on in the American car market that a lot of people are aware of changing all the time they tell you know what was being right now though statement that really seems to be taking off back to growing at a rate that twice that of the overall industry right now. We estimate the first half of the year so it running right around 27% increase in the first half over last year, compared to an industry that is running about 13 to 14 so it types it into doing very well.

That's really shaping up to be a tremendous statement over the next certainly over the next 12 to 18 months so much product activity going on or out of the five top knowing that the demand which also includes diffusion going to be all new for this year copies is interesting is reminiscent of 2 million maybe to Bob as well known for years.

The midsize segment of the American car market was the heart and soul. It was the old cutlass.

It was a Ford Taurus. It was it was all those cars that really were Americana but then it would kinda went to SUVs and lintels minivans and all sorts of different places.

It's interesting to see you go back well take a look at the very very large part of our overall industry. I acted 20%, but died is great rate behind it. Not to fire about 17%. We expect that you take The close people move from small cars are going way smokers are still performing very well in the industry but you people gradually shift the larger cars midsize cars write more as we go the next 12 to 18 month and the fuel economy is really being the fuel economy envelope is really being pushed so you can get the Ford fusion of the fall which showed 37 miles per gallon with the 1.6 and then you can have a offspring of a hybrid 47 Lee 47 MPG city, 44 on the highway and then for the first time in the segment plug-in hybrid blue-collar fusion energy, which is rated at 100 MPG lot of choice for customers that you said about the malice because I was in here waiting for break. Then I was going to jump in and ask if you thought the midsize were doing better because the great improvements in the mileage in the that's gotta be driving it then. Oh well happening really got again the newer product pressure product coming out with the pressure product comes all of the stride are made gaining fuel economy and that gap between our midsize cars cannot close dramatically. 37 miles per gallon with a conventional internal combustion engine is just that phenomenal be really played out well.

Do you see this affecting resale value settle in terms of the fuel well I can type with fusion, the resale value for fusion it at the very top end of the segment very much in line with according camping and will we find with the buyer, midsize. They have been very pragmatic want good resale value. They want good residual.

They want good fuel efficiency that they want good dependable transportation.

Philip Katie powered vehicle dependability study in the dance segment fusion was number one. So we want to check all the rational boxes for them, but then also give them something special. Design perspective which, quite frankly, we just don't think that scamming a court have been very, very, very sterile, compared to the excitement American manufacturers always offered in my view is my opinion but that's that's part of it now being a sales that you know I have to ask this question because it's the thing that came to my mind. What a joy it is to have you something that studies this kind of stuff every day what he is. You look into the sales crystal ball. Eric what you see out there on the horizon that might surprise us. Might I I think a lot of people with utilities utilities segment is one of the most misunderstood the industry today and we we believe it.

It understood utilities segment very large and it what's going on within the utilities segment.

What I people because it almost 50% now made up of within the utilities segment our small utility.

Though a number of people are going to smaller utilities like product, the Ford escape with Carol capers right now to dealership lot folks for your area. North Carolina will likely be able to like to go out.

13 those vehicles now about the escape they get that with yeah it's 33 miles per gallon on the highway, so I began very fuel efficient offering and you got a vehicle that provides a tremendous amount of room and it provides relief. People are looking for balance, especially in light of the baby boomers now are becoming another becoming empty-nesters and increasing number finding that yet he still room but they don't need as much of the perhaps did 10 years ago when they had teenagers and soccer all the events that parents are involved no longer need a bus. What were were always very much what the market really looking for the next thing in terms of what is it that people are looking for because people need their want what they're eating in the vehicle. He changes a lot over time depending on what stage in their life. They have to be at a blessing to have you here with us today. I just thank you so much and Ford's partnership with us always, and in providing us with the latest information was going out there in the automotive market.

Thanks for joining us today. Eric, I really really do appreciate your pleasure. I look forward since.

Thanks, Eric well there is an update from our friends at Ford, but we would love to hear from you today. When did your you you were hoping you were dreaming.

I know we got Andrea coming up in the second word but will or maybe you got some other car question. This is your time to call in 866-348-7884 866-34-TRUTH's number calling that we we do also want to hear from Bob because he's fresh off the mission field you been up there in West Virginia last week you seen some real change for that youth in your church and you a member there is been a great, great, I would say my best experience with our great cows that the change was this so so while some we got there and and myself. I'm expecting okay were going to West Virginia will be in the mountains is coming nice and cool.

I think the low temperature lava the house of the week was 93 or something like that. We had 97. One day it was just extremely hot and we were down in the valley. Not much air moving through their bet them. They just really got serious about the work and everything we met another great from Ohio that came down in there were over 50 young people from from both groups there so it was just a great great experience for me. Got to meet some people. We were in the area of the Hatfield and McCoy's death and the we got to go by the cemetery. One day, but that just to see the changes made in the young people when they get a chance to serve Jesus.

Have you noticed this bit that all the sudden this light comes on at some point in time that while there is such joy in serving the Lord and those kids and when they they did they come alive in Christ, realizing the beauty of service touch thing, some some young, a lot of young people are very me oriented and myself included.

I can be very me your hearing young person Bob that the getting out and doing for others in the fact that they got to see people in extreme poverty. I think that was one of the best things for him to have realized this.

Tell good they have it and and only difference between them and the young people that there is that they were born into a different situation. God placed them that these kids haven't anything that I learned that they still had joy you would tell me that you looked at the people that you would think would be in poverty, but spiritually were they imparted that they were.

They were very grateful to have us there. They love detail that they all have a story to everybody at their has a story and so mom wanted to connect her sales to the Hatfields and the McCoys and and we actually we painted to homes and then we washed another one preparing it to be painted next week, and he was he was McCoy James McCoy NY was a direct that he was the real McCoy is a direct descendent of you so very, it was a pretty cool thing and that that just like say that spiritual growth. The young people experienced in the their excitement to work.

We had some of the younger ones that had never been on anything like that before and just the excitement they had in and the wall. Their desire to please people, and to learn the things they would just very exciting for me only got Andrea and we appreciate her so much she's been hanging on forever in Louisville, Kentucky under a year on it.

I see your name right.

Is it Andrea or I love the flexibility for us, for you all think really thank you so much for the glory very action would like to avoid story. So I'm kinda came back from serving missionary in Israel, allowing felt an involuntary and we moved back here anyway and were starting to really fresh. I sold everything before I moved out there to work and so I'd like something I'm going to get. We have a little something on the black market and we have a friend like a car dealership. We can paly no interest in major black and anyway I'm looking at a cubic line review XL seven and another line I don't remember but I'm just trying to reach it. I am not making any I'm saying a word, one because it is what I want. Of course we have a vehicle here we we communicate because of our country. Clearly different type account and things to do Christian Car Guy.com is a great resource because you will find that there is a defect resource page you can find it in the index where you can go to that page and it will tell you I'm very fond of is what's been the number one complaint on them on the Suzuki looking at and you can put an exact model. It will tell you all the complaints that have come in on those cards give you an idea about that but you know God wants you to have the desires of your heart. To me that's part he put those desires in there to some extent, and I know you walk with the Lord. If you been a missionary so you know realize he wants you that he wants you to have that you make sure you kinda write about what I want. Gas mileage, what am I gonna need for my family.

What kind of room.

Do I need some people have medical issues with her back.

I saw a lot of people get in trouble because they bought something that didn't fit their body well and then you lick the their terribly uncomfortable and and he's looking at me because I'm 6 foot five important that over GTX. Those are all things to consider, but I've written lots and lots of articles on how to buy a car in most things in their all their Christian Car Guy.com but again our prayer is always in front.

I cannot and I know you're doing it and I appreciate it and I think it the Lord has the perfect car for you and and just be sensitive along the way so that would be my advice and I thank you for calling, and what a blessing I look@them.com in a couple of other places like this Kelly book or something like that. But I look at kind of thing. I don't I'm accurate to look at the government website with the gas mileage to be a little lower than what people say. Gas mileage actually is rely on their information. You probably drive compared to most people. I would go with whatever BPA said it was because most of us who drive like human beings don't experience the bad gas mileage is unfortunately average American who speaks a lot. I was feeling you get better gas mileage than a lot of their help.

That's helpful. Thank you, Andrea. Thank you.

We got Sharon coming up in a minute and we got a guitar praise of the real Blackfoot state.

How I hope you enjoy that me that can go to the Lord and when you forgotten when you found yourself in possession of that junk and you walked away from them and he reminds you who you are. What a joy that is I hope you get as much of that as I do, I just that's on for hours but we got Sharon this bill is a question we gotta get to her or talk about John today Sharon you're on the Christian Car Guy sugar morning got like driving down here for 12 years, which allow and it got out the mouth and begot Mary what a wonderful day. Encourage Chang to drive an old car that worked for years and brought it back 20 years. The economy in the park and elect €12 care. Sharon and Wayne Curry, and God will provide gay or forward, backward, what I'm thinking about this is like you speaking to my heart because I wrote article is actually a Christian Car Guy.com right now if you read that article what it says is for those of you who pull up to a stoplight next to Alexis or BMW in your driving, like me, you drive an old red with 300,003, and 30,000 that I say you know what praise God that he's given you the freedom from the need to keep up with the Joneses that is giving you the freedom to walk out of you know away from that and the freedom to use your resources to build the kingdom and and and and so maybe the Lords given some people Alexis, but is even he's given me old red than God blesses that we can do that in your testimony is more than awesome Sharon, I'm so glad you shared that because are so many people out there who have exactly the same feeling and I salute you. I do thank you God bless you your lie right now.

Thank you Sharon. Oh well, stuff like that makes this so rewarding promised this Isaiah passage so I gotta get to adjust quickly only tell you that when Isaiah told the Israelites then was it it shall come to pass at the glory of Jacob will Wayne in the fatness of the flesh will grow lean is when the harvester gathers grain and he reads with his arm and that reaping I want to want you to think about it for a minute when you fall away from the vine.

One of the things that happens is you turn rotten ripe is you're going to turn colors and Euros can acquit growing and then you're gonna let go of the vine. If you think about a piece of fruit.

What happens to it. It was a tomato it was green.

It was still growing, but when it starts to turn red. It's actually dying and wants it disconnects from the vine.

The mayor goes, it's ready to be harvested. Think about Revelation. Think about places in the script or when they talk about this harvest or how do you get to keep from doing that was interesting. At the end of Isaiah right there that same passage what it says is yet gleaning grapes will be left in like the shaking of an olive tree two or three olives will be left in the uppermost branches for five the fruitful branches cling onto that fine him. Tell your baby a wild ride and shake but you got a cling on the vine. Bob, thank you so much for a while.

Sharon all that you do and with us today.

I appreciate you so much is great to be here brothers always. All right, now remember slowdown. Jesus walked everywhere he went, got it all done in 33 years and whatever you do this week.

Remember, cling onto that branch don't turn color and don't turn loose as you walk away from Jesus, help I love my love songs remind me Lord, who I am and you remind me how I can get my strength how I can be connected to the roof.

Those are all things that your folks learn this on this mission trip that they had that had such a great experience in life changes that will stick with them that you're listening to TruthNetwork.com
