Sunday church is going to come a little bit later than I normally do as we get our sleep go. We can be thinking about that.

It is certainly fallback weekend, but today's Christian car guy show his radical rescues, today's the first Saturday of the month, so it is the Jesus labor of love Saturday and were certainly to hear about some radical rescues from the Jesus labor love team that's free car repair labor for single moms and widows and families in crisis. This was back in 1996 and Tammy and my son Robbie and I had gone to a Jeep jamboree. It was an amazing fall day in October, the brilliant fall colors had come to the mountains around Murphy, North Carolina, and then the world, change forever in the blink of an eye standing at the back of my Jeep patting my son a root beer.

I heard the crackling of stones on the my tires and I looked up to see what was an unmanned Jeep bearing down on me with no place to go. I got my right leg up on the bumper.

My left leg and I miss very much the gory details, but the Jeep that hit me had a tubular front bumper and ours was flat so it kinda crushed my leg just below the knees are likable and test. It was a compound fracture that would leave me in a wheelchair actually for couple years, two surgeries and the loss of my fibula bone so it was it was pretty tough. There were about 40 people a Jeep jamboree white team and they all came running up the screams which quite honestly were mostly mine and they rolled the Jeep off me and I'd I kinda tumbled to the ground.

I immediately realized I was in serious trouble.

I was hurt pretty badly in I was way up in the mountains and I knew I was not getting medical help anytime soon and I did what I thought my heart led me to do, which was to cramp for Jesus and there will never be another doubt my mind, he came in a big way and he will come if you ever need them.

He came in he gave me this I do not explain it other was this incredible hug, and he actually held me in my idea is in my mind you help me until the ambulance came and what took about an hour. I believe that's all the people were there trying to comfort me and make shredding on the shock of the poor man. He left his Jeep out a gear without the emergency brake on was pleading over the top of me was just golf Robbie, forgive me, forgive me.

And of course I'm cursed with Joe Biden disease. That means I laugh at anything and I asked if I look up and asking what's of the house or insurance bill you can imagine that, took the edge off the correct data and so you know I'll never forget when the English drivers finally arrived and they gave me the morphine. I really didn't feel a bit better. In fact I wanted my Jesus hug back and I really have ever since this is a place when you know that you're in the everlasting arms at Bing brings a piece really that truly is without understanding knowing that what that actually feels like is really a precious memory for me or the EMTs they put sort of a blowup split sprint splint around my leg and off we went to the Murphy North Carolina hospital which was about a 30 minute very bumpy ride which was no fun in that situation, and when we arrived, the nurse began to attend me. They took an x-ray and that was with that my leg still in that blowup split when the ER doctor came in. He began to let the air out of the nurse documented to have a look at the x-ray before we open it up and and Mr. Gilmore just finished his last chemotherapy treatment this week. In fact, there was a Navy combat doctor who came in yesterday and offered his services. If we had any trauma victims this weekend. Would you like me to call him and he went over and looked at my transit yeah you better call and maybe Dr. will talk about Jesus to the rescue. No doubt that maybe surgeon really did save my leg. Anyone reading this would have to say this was no coincidences. Doctor happened to be in Murphy North Carolina that day and he darted come in and offer the services ON that Dr. arrived, he took command. He was obviously maybe surgeon.

He knew what he was doing nurse start Mr. Gilmore on a cc of drip of this that and the other end. They just looked at me and he said Mr. Gilmore, you're going to go to sleep now and when you wake up you know this is going to be over and really that was last thing I remember, except when I did wake up.

Finally I looked up at my wife and I said to me what floor my own in this hospital and she laughed and she said floor. If you're one of three rooms.

She also explained that the doctors at Baptist Hospital at acid. They rushed me back to Winston-Salem because of the chemotherapy treatment. Concern about my leg so I was quickly resting another aimless and went off to Winston-Salem. It was about a three hour ambulance ride and this is late at night, but this was a movie flight bill yes I got him once I saw TV that was mounted to the roof and I asked if I could watch a movie and they didn't have any on board so we stopped at a convenience store that my wife was following us in the Jeep, you know, and she couldn't figure out why were stopping on or forget a reaction when I told her we are stopping to get me a movie so Robbie, what do I say well is a movie flight and will you we had to take all. We arrived back in Winston-Salem around one in the morning and I think Tammy had called ahead to our Sunday school class to get them for me and I was just shocked. It was it was so late in the night we got there, there were numbers of the people from our Sunday school class there to meet the ambulance and as a testimony to Jesus's love for me I'll really never forget the nurse attending me said in the ER. She said you must go that Calvary Baptist Church and asked her how would you know that. She said well 11 of you guys shows up you bring a crowd that's that's quite a statement to say about anybody Sunday school class and they were then there a few months later when they build a wheelchair ramp on the back of my house and it's really hard to explain how humbling that was that I was a baby Christian at the time and I never had any one do anything like that for me before and it never even crossed my mind and help anybody like that what my cam.

The teacher was standing at my back door and and I rolled over to him at that time in my wheelchair and you know I asked him what I am redundant to get anything like this. And Mike told me that you know Robbie, you have no idea the joy it is to give this kind of thing to people.

The problem is nobody will ever let us and when they won't let us. They rob us of the blessing, so they're all glad to see years later. Now, as I reflect on all this, I can run and play with the big boys. In fact, for my 50th birthday. I ran a 5K. This was in so many ways. Folks Jesus to the rescue. He taught me both know how that he could hug me directly during the time of the accident but also he showed me that he could hug me through others when they came to my rescue and when the nurse came to my rescue.

The EMTs came to my rescue and then certainly my Sunday school claims class came to my rescue. This is a in a just a sample of some of the stuff that comes in it, just broke my heart when I read this on. I can mention any names, but here's one that came in out of Salt Lake City this week and said I'm a single mom with really bad depression and I'm unable to work because of it. My ex is not paying child support and we are now depending on my mom for all of her bills were at the point where were hoping not to lose our home because she's not making enough money to flow this anymore. My daughters on a sports team at school, and because she takes off-site classes we have to get a card to get her to and from those off-site schools and to get to the game so I'm I'm not only asking for me. Who needs to get to and from my doctor appointments, but I need which I need to try to get better, but for my daughter who needs not to lose any more stable things in her life. My daughter loves her sports is a straight a student. Please help. I also help do animal rescue with C AWS and help there to transport. Please help me to get my car back in shape. Now that's like I said it's just one of the samples of people to call in and we need some help he needs.

Map actually in Salt Lake City. We need more people to actually help repair the cars but here are some else that we need. We need somebody to to coordinate churches with these applicants I'm asking for a volunteer. I really feel God put it on my heart that we need to start contacting churches asked them if they could go love on somebody like this a lot more than half of our applicants do not have a church affiliation so you can imagine the need like this lady has with no church family and as I just described and met Jesus coming to my rescue.

Part of the way he came to my rescue was through my Sunday school class and so we need to be the body of Christ around these people in need in order for to do that.

I need some help. I need a volunteer somebody to help me call churches and find a church in this area and that's not the easiest or job in the world to do because you gotta be in a very discerning on which church seems like this is really something that there to do that their doctrine is in keeping with you know what we we feel like it's right way and all a lot of challenges in that particular applicants position, but I need your help Christian Car Guy.com and volunteer and speaking of volunteers, we have our lead volunteer with us here today. We got there kills on the line. Vic, we got a lot of need for this ministry, don't we. It's a kind of a heartbreaker. No money and no medical even the part translation for the one you were just talking about. So if anybody out there feels like they like to have a family on doing something like that might milliamp the transmission or something. I'm open to that. And I know that they be blessed by you and in its she's got that desire to help you know we we certainly have lots of them. We can give you examples of Army we can send you in on the content of certain needs and then you can kinda decide which one you might want to help with the that time of year where a lot of folks you know have a giving spirit and we would love to help some of these folks out because they really are Heartbreakers and we really do want to come to their rescue and we knew we have needs to though as far as finding repair centers we got were still backed up and Charlotte are leaving because of this economy and come time for an appointment. Have the money for their part in the labor wouldn't be a charge to so problems that way because the loss of jobs and running out of unemployment and things like that so that I would like to take a second and shout out that you contact all these repair centers all the time and would you mind sharing with our listeners. Some of those that you know if you live in this area where they were like like Butch Dalton and Lubin in the and can you name some of those names that people know that live in those areas. Now if we could go out and support these guys.

I give them paid repairs, it can really help them in in doing all this volunteer work that they do locations in Richmond shop and North Carolina set repair. Sherry can greatly never turned me down not want.

There's a lot going on with all these flood cars and in what you got forced comprehensive or sometimes called other than collision coverage is an optional coverage that you can add to your auto insurance when you purchase car insurance you can choose to abide or choose not to. If you have a good driving record and had been driving three or more years is usually very reasonably priced. What this comprehensive coverage covers fire, theft, vandalism damage resulting from hitting an animal glass breakage damage caused by flying objects we end a hail water and flood even though floods excluded from a homeowners policy flood can be covered on an auto policy. If you've got comprehensive or other than collision coverage, but I actually thought when I saw all those submerged cars was how long before those cars are going to start showing up on used car lots all around the company country. Some of the problems that are not covered by auto insurance auto comprehensive coverage includes problems that happened before you added the card to your insurance. So if you got a broken windshield you can't: add comprehensive. The next day and go back in time. The other things that are covered are mechanical problems so that the flood cut problem happened before you bought it and then resulted in some problems after.

That's not something that's protected but I would encourage everybody to make sure you've called and asked your agent. Do I have comprehensive coverage and if you don't how much it costs, and even more importantly, if you have it ask if you have a deductible and see what a zero deductible costs is in lots of cases is zero deductible might only be a dollar more more a month than having 100 or $500 deductible for that coverage.

Now it's it's a fairly inexpensive thing in you.

He brings up a great point as we begin to see these cars and you know we saw this after Katrina thousands upon thousands of flood cars coming to the used car market in you know that's in one of those ways that you can use a Carfax you know that in fact I have a listener coming from South Carolina about a week or so ago when she was in the middle of the used car purchase and she said Rob you know she was asking me to walk you through some of the things you know she's a single mom trying to get some help and I said you know I think you have to do is yard run a Carfax while I couldn't believe that it actually happened this way.

But when she ran a Carfax. The last person to register the car actually had 60,000 less miles on it then it had been previous them, then it what was it showing on the odometer.

In other words, the car had lost mild summative setback.

The odometer and she found that through the Carfax so and again any time you got flood damage or something like that. Those things show up, you know, through through that kind of thing. There's lots of ways that you can look for flood damage in the car, but there's no there's no way that I can explain to somebody how bad of flood, especially seawater.

What that does to the car. It literally ruins six months ago. We almost bought my son a used car and found that it had a bent frame.

We looked at the Carfax so that that's a inexpensive way to this fit to save yourself a gob of money is, is to simply do a Carfax and that's on that case Carfax gained our Lady rescue, but in always good to do your homework when you're buying a used car. Whatever the situation may be, and obviously our prayers and hearts go out to those in the in the Northeast. We do have somebody who Jesus came to the rescue. Let's hear from March I think is probably my mom mom you're a Christian card I show them on about our we were driving along and are smiling away with a big honor truck pulling a flatbed trailer that had a farm equipment turned suddenly to go into a driveway and turned suddenly that the flatbed trailer broke loose and equipment started flying right at car or truck and I said to my husband and I was driving to KL and I pulled the car to the right to get off the road and with the bank and embankment and we went down the embankment and an oak tree. I maybe 3 inches went to a page where and in a manner that the car wouldn't stop. I get that had been damaged the great work and I turn it back up and make daily with no safety bag, blowing up around your stepdad had just recovered from open-heart surgery in my calf. My And out of nowhere came on nurse not just any nurse, nurse, they were just going and she grabbed him and took care of him and some man grabbed me and put me in his van and fed. Here, a family member because our client was wracked.

We were, and from then on we had so many rescue people who stopped and the people who pulled our truck away actually took us to the motel got settled in. Took us to the rental car place mean if Jesus had been there with nothing except that. And finally, when we went back to look at the accident site flatbed trailer had actually gone over our truck because I know I'm familiar with the Paxton a little bit mom. Those were forklifts that were coming off that those were forklifts that were coming off that flatbed truck that were flying all over the highway in front of you and can you imagine you driving down the interstate at 70 miles an hour and a flatbed jackknife in front of you forklifts are flying everywhere and somehow or another you managed to toddle call and when we got to American's are killed, and I would surely mom we need a little rescue music. We've got it here that we've queued up just for you, and little and the Lone Ranger come right behind their coming to the rescue. I remembered all too well. Can you imagine forklifts flying at you from everywhere. Talk about coming to my rescue. I don't know that I can ever ever come close to Isaiah 30 again and not be terribly impressed.

But here's what it says. Isaiah 15 it says, for thus says the Lord, the holy one of Israel in returning and rest you shall be saved in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. You know there's a lot more that comes after that and I were to be able to just process that for little bit now want what you say is it in returning and rest you shall be saved in client and confidence shall be your strength working to dig into that of a bit more but we got Larry is in Austin, Indiana Indiana and Jesus is come to his rescue Larry around the Christian card I show good morning you got for us and it was all in our dollar. Also work a lot of hours. Lot work so many hours, that's amazing.

Friday I did something a lot of might want to consider doing is called a healthcare power of attorney in these awful situations where things can go wrong there times when you're not in a position to tell the doctor or the hospital how you want to be treated and how you want things handled and that document allows your spouse or someone you love be able to make sure your wishes are taking care of, called a healthcare power of attorney and just about everybody should have penetrated five incentives and certainly a lot of folks in the Northeast are realizing you know it's a difficult situation will getting back to my birthday present. In my everything that you can imagine it would complicate everything. It would be in danger. He would they were lots of people praying for me and he would rescue me from it. Even the doctors couldn't understand and the last back that I have from it are so minimal. It's not like mentioning and I'm doing great now you know you and I are not big deep down that road together to get run over all my word. Have you written that story out. Now I'm working on work I stand you how. What a testimony. I am so very thankful you know I now we got an insurance agent right here right after that.
