Welcome to the Christian Car Guy radio show. The cop show dedicated to helping students buy and sell cars by the book, not the blue book knobby orange book, but by God's book, the Bible called the Christie car guy with your questions. 186634218663 for 87884 is being a Christian have to do with buying a car you're about to find out is your host Robbie Gilmore. It is Memorial day weekend here on the Christian Car Guy show in Memorial Day weekend means a lot of different things. Certainly, it's a chance for us to honor those who served our country in the car world. It means some other things.

There's lots of folks up in Indianapolis that are getting ready up there and down here in Charlotte, North Carolina. They're getting ready in another way. And we're getting ready on the Christian Car Guy show to bless you in some different ways. We have got a studio full of folks were just going to lead off with Dale Hamilton.

He is with support military.org scar that whole race team, and he sees Gordon with amenity sales. We got thanks Robbie appreciate you give us opportunity to be here, but Col. West Steve West from Virginia is with us today, and he's my cofounder and support military.org we are a foundation that is for the benefit of the military and course and he sat beside you guys know Andy Bowersox and so appreciate and invite us up and you have in us here, but let Steve tell you about support military. Thank you very much Dale. It's good to be here this morning.

Thank you for this opportunity. I am an Air Force chaplain and I represent the military every day. But today what I'd like to talk to you about is representing support military foundation support military.org what we do is we connect people to the military and the military to people in a way where I need is taking care of where people know they can go and trust and take care of the needs that they're having our they want to be a part of taking care of veterans. Our military members are family members. So it just goes on and on there so many in the way that's tied in the NASCAR Dell is well. I you know my company, Crusader staffing, we always get involved in a lot of different organizations that have to do with spiritual things like finish winter or working with the drivers or even Randy's are Andy's organization, but because Steve and I found it support military I wheat we use NASCAR to promote our foundation so we support military doesn't sponsor cars but this week Seiter staffing is presenting the sport military car.

We have the 19 in the nationwide series and the 32 in the cup series lot of you know Blake cookie will be driving 32 car in the cup series and Mike Bliss drives 19 garnishments are selling it all at stuff, and after this morning course we got handy here in the studio with us for a change. Got a nice you're not out there you will you will be shortly. You guys on your way to Charlotte right after we are leaving Excel before Bobby fallen Dylan and Steve down to just a few minutes, but in our ministries of all this about encouraging pastors and so we get to today even have some pastors of the racetrack where this was redone many many times as you know, so looking forward to a good day today. I see him pastors coming out there today. We do have a service or regular treat for us is just a host pastors to a behind the scenes. Fun day at the racetrack just to see the other so much that happens. My personal interest.

As you know Robbie, I love the stuff that happens ahead of time. The prerace festivities, the excitement, the relationships and and is just need to be able to show people behind the scenes.

What makes such a good team. You know the teamwork the engineering the training and oftentimes we can tie that back to out to a spiritual perspective to so decided yet pastors that you're going to be bringing into that today is all part of enterprise ministries are regular on track with anti-segment because it's Memorial Day we got home here in the studio with us, but we also have a good friend, Jerry was our Christian body shop guy with raised body shop and also a big NASCAR fan and you love to see what God's doing out there master dumpster yeah you know was kinda really cool this morning to be in the studio with these three guys a step in being able to see and hear how they're using NASCAR racing in as a platform to share Jesus Christ because a lot of people are going to be walking that track and in the stands that no Jesus Christ and need that support and know that there in that environment. There's also people walking through those turnstiles that have no clue Jesus Christ is this an opportunity to reach out to them. So is just as a mission field that had certainly I mean is just just cool to see how help not just with the drivers and the teams how you able to minister to them.

But those people who really need to know Jesus Christ and his opportunity absolutely and it's an opportunity today if you're listening with what I've said about fun contest. I want to do because we always want to get the listeners and also we want to call in today 866-34-TRUTH 878846 were kind of talking about racing you know it.

I was going through the Christian Car Guy library this week is the base of theirs you got library is a massive library because I have so many songs about cars and I gone to in they work. They were thinking about throwing Jerry was like 10 years of work, of all the songs thousands of them and as I went through my library. All the sudden I came across a song that I had never used on the air and it was about a Cadillac being chased and I thought know what there's a number of songs where Cadillac is being chased and so today I want to have a special contest. If you know if you can name as many songs as you can think of where Cadillac is being chased.

We want to call in and we have a special prize form that we Johnny tell them what to win. We have Truth Network T-shirts, books, bookmarks, and the grand prize, a brand-new tiny Cadillac you can carry with you in your pocket, hoping for the day. You can afford one to own you brand-new car on the Kristin Clark chapter that you can win. You call in and tell us how many songs just cause tells the names of the songs where someone was chasing a Cadillac and we batted race NASCAR sound effects to somebody function of the plane is about music 866-34-TRUTH 87884 is a number to call in 86634 truth, we would love to hear from you and also today.

Our prayers about the real black book. It's interesting how these NASCAR races often take place on Sunday and this week. Interestingly, I was listening to a devotion and it was about the Masters being played on Sunday and might you know we had a lot of foul spirits that around one of the ones it really gets the Lord upset. Is this religious spirit.

There's a file religious spirit and I was I was listed. This guy won the Masters on Easter Sunday immediately I kinda bristled thinking what he's playing golf on the but then I listen to how we glorify the Lord on Easter Sunday and from all these golf people listening and I realize that it was this religious spirit that it bristled in me and so some of you may feel that about NASCAR and the been running Sunday so I have a little thing I want to share with you on appraisal by the real black book you learned it in Sonny's garment to turn it backwards as our pastor did were to be doing that in our appraisal by the real black book and asked him to come in at the end of the show we are turning Sunday school backwards and see what that looks like on the appraisal by the real black book Andy.

I'm anxious to pastors that you got coming out there today.

What will they experience well apart. I mentioned to you earlier are our most interesting part and really the time that you can talk and those that explain things happens before get super super loud.

If you've been to the racetrack.

Well, you know once I drop the green flag gets real loud and you can't do a lot of face-to-face communication but what we start meeting at the credential trailer we give pastors in true VIP all access pass that will bring them down inside the garage area will take a tour through some of the team haulers get to meet some of the personnel and and not in particularly the crew guys often have a new perspective to share in everybody wants to get their picture taken meet with the driver to the crew guys can tell you really what happens in the hours and weeks and months leading up to even one particular event and also to get to experience that they will go sit through the drivers meeting actually get to hear some of the some of the specific training that happens in and not guidelines. And then the NASCAR or MRO always is a chapel service for the drivers and the team members and the civil sit through that and then kinda go out on the track for the for the introductions. The dignitaries people like Col. Steve sit next to me that get introduced and and get to partake of all that and then will go into pit road and now I get to listen in on the team communications to the to the crew chief to the spotter who stands up on top of the towers in the drivers and and just hear all the things that happened and then will wrap up after that. So the incident is very eventful, exciting day and the one time I went with you guys. I was Intel's area there with crusader and the you guys were throwing tires and a pastor now.

Where else to get to do that.

Yeah yeah it's it's a great opportunity to share folks share with folks what happens behind the scenes.

NASCAR always tell folks that you don't see the race when you're in the pits, you experience it, so you might be catching the tire you may be flagging down the car definitely watching what's going on as a crew guys take in our case, sometimes 30 and 40 seconds to change to do a pitstop that's really good for a 12 second pitstop well thank you opinion is very cool. We got so much Christian Car Guy show coming at you got David in Richmond. He thinks he knows the songs there's at least three that I know of where I Cadillac being chased down. You can call during a break 866-34-TRUTH 87884 will take David's call and yours here more about NASCAR Memorial day we got to show muscle race. The space is something that is not his. That's one of them being people we are trying to figure out what all the car songs where something was trying to pass a Cadillac, you can win today on the Christian Car Guy show 866-34-TRUTH 87884 course got a whole lot of Memorial stuff Memorial day stuff going on were to get to that distancing Maria David Richman, David. You just heard one of them. I'm guessing you knew that what one of the other two do you know that was the one that there are still there are two morbid David working to send you out a prize when you leave it open for another caller to call us. Okay you love the beeping sound and you all will delete this right is because Randy was sitting there. I never heard that song in my life. I really that was a classic of us in the studio three had never heard I like and grandson of one yeah that's what. Thank you David God bless you and appreciate you going in the day. All right, you can hear we still have plenty of songs to name 866-34-TRUTH 87884 but we do want to go to chaplain our Col. West here in the studio with us and you are telling us during the break, that when you heard that Easter story that one time you were serving the military and and you saw Chuck Gottschalk in a different way on Easter Sunday. Absolutely. A few years ago when I was stationed in academia airbase in Okinawa, Japan was pastor of the contemporary service their own Kadena air base in God was just working in so many ways we were seeing people come to the Lord all the time. It was just a glorious time. One of those moments in time that lasted for three years and you were talking about Easter and I and I thought about the wonderful thing that happened on Easter. I was able to add a baptismal service in the East China Sea, right there, baptize 52 people out of our congregation day and it was just a glorious way to show the resurrection of Christ like I've never seen even baptize to Chinese citizens that day who said our families are going to disown us. But we want to know Christ.

You talk about God working in beautiful ways, more at it sort of revival) within the military absolute East China Sea, and that's what were looking for. Out here in NASCAR right now is not because there's a lot of stuff going on at the track over the weekend. Yeah there's a lot of ministry going on right now is matter fact Rick Berkey one of our partners from ARO spoke this morning and last week at the All-Star ratio. 20 except the Lord and after his message are him and some other people that spoke so the other sisters what you're saying. Big mission field right in Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend and then we have it at the website just next week you're going up to reading Pennsylvania and Finnish winter is a big event.

This right to get it church there that's going to have a slave got a special law car show and buffet dinner and light cooked in a couple of the other drivers are going to go up and speak to the folks there were looking forward to since folks Stored thereto as well. How about the support military.org cars that are racing at one racing today.

You got one racing tomorrow. Can you give us any like inside tips on what to be looking for while other support military car today is all white with just the support military stickers on it, but Mike Bliss is good driver he was practicing 13/13 and I think he finished 18th will be qualifying here in just a little bit.

They're not qualifying already today and looking forward to a good run with Mike and then next week are tomorrow. Blake is his running his third. I think cup start Sprint cup start and the 32 support military car and is going to be a grueling race. 600 miles at 200 miles an hour so that be his first experience 600 miles. I have a feeling he won't be able to stand up partially once he's done this. It takes a lot of effort really does and it's so cool to see Blake get this opportunity. Yes, he has such a neat story. Such a wonderful testimony and an can you share with our listeners on many of them man out of her to Blake's to get Blake Christian young man that got to start five years ago and the nationwide series that week we helped him out there to get and to Randy McDonald. You've had Randy. I think in the studio before and Randy and I were partners at that point and we put them in the car and he qualified 17th finished 16th and in Memphis tight track lot of opportunities direct, not a scratch on the car when that happened, we knew we had something in Blake has proved himself to be a very good young man. As far as the ability and the car in his lifestyle. He's a great young father honors Christ and everything is sees up early in the morning studying his Bible.

He speaks every week somewhere around the country for the Lord.

He represents support military and Finnish winter does great job and work were also privileged to have him as a representative for organization absolutely and last year there was a bit of a test for Blake Woodman or Andy on remembering that he had a challenging ended up with a bunch of news coverage on the beginning of the year last year helping William Hesse back to Delaware for med yeah was the American majority. There was no was rise up and register and is matter fact were trying to get back on stock Fox news this coming week up in New York so were working on that, but Blake had made a commercial for ESPN and ESPN had done original research on Blake and found his testimony on his on his personal webpage is racing webpage and they would not run the ad because of that, and it was for nonpartisan rise up and register group that was trying to get postgraduate vote and so that become a big came up and I would let ESPN that they would look like it could be a challenge but ended up being God got glorified all of the blonde modern-day persecution. They will you be here in a little bit from some of the other organizations are out there the race tomorrow. We still got appraisal by the real black book with other songs you can call in 7888663487884. All some stuff down near the red light was blinking me in jail at home will not fail. He sits on you… Hot Rod Lincoln, three so that we can import classic Cadillac. You can call in the wind. Today, 866-348-7884. We are celebrating this Memorial Day weekend on the Christian card I share with all the different ministries. Not all of them but we have been many of the ministries that are being represented that the race in Charlotte today, but also we know that there's ministries up there in Indianapolis that the race up there at the Indy 500.

That's that's going on this weekend and so we'd love to hear what God's doing on the race track and we have a special guest coming in from Charlotte Gary Wilt is with MRO's ambassadors program and Gary's not actually able to be at the race today because the doctor's orders, but he's done this for years and years and years and you know it's amazing how God taps on the shoulders of all of us to sometimes go out and reach people with our story, which is unique. Welcome Gary, are you with us. Gary Wilton and Charlie, I'm here, it's good to have you on the day you had mentioned that I can't be there. I'm sorry to hear you. I should be fine for the fall race but we appreciate the opportunity to talk a bit about investor and so from your standpoint you going out there and you done this for years and years and years have usually been doing eight years and we started eight years ago and I've been there. Both the spring and fall race every year. Very fortunate to be able to serve their son most times that you've gone out and served with this masters program which, at any time real quick with a little bit about what investors text well yeah I Gary I'm glad to get you on the phone.

Here we we've emailed back and forth a little bit but this the yeah perfect time to be talking with you so soon ambassadors you get you guys are volunteer staff with MRO right and go out into the stands and just tell us about some of the needs that you that you get to help out and facilitate why you're at the track.

Well, we are almost strictly an information and assistance arm of the motor racing outreach. As you mentioned restricted volunteer and we charge ourselves knowing where just about everything is as best we can and that with the fan as a question or need assistance or something like that is our job to to make it a memorable rope racing experience at the Charlotte motor Speedway and Gary, can you remember one particular time that you are out there doing that and you were like man. Now I know why God has me doing this this now it's it's obvious that I'm doing this because God's got this kind of thing for me. Can you remember a story like that, yes I can do and you spend a few years ago, but we pay you gentlemen fan who had a heart attack or something very serious and he had to be transported to a local hospital where our job is to support those around the incident. We do know first date we call first-aid or whatever but we you don't dispense any medication or advice or anything but our job is to support the surrounding family and friends and the span was transported to local love hospital and one of our guys took the family to the hospital and after back arranged for them to come back and get their car and that this is when you know you're there for a reason right place at the right time.

Exactly this is one of the many ministries that we have that the Lord is provided out there.

These racetracks all these races going on over this Memorial Day weekend. Gary thank you for being on with us today.

God bless you. We really appreciate what you doing out there. Thank you very much and thank you and we also have Janice Byrd who is with another ministry. Janice welcome Janice Byrd. I cannot believe we got you on the phone here today what I want to treat time well uncovered. So listen for everybody lives that I just got a tell you we were sitting in the studio discussing different ministry things that happen, and as we often do check Facebook here and there and I just happen to see a post from my very dear friend Janice Byrd and her family that that is help another one of our good friends. We often talk about Greg Berkey at ARO with auto racing outreach and so Janet, I hate to do, I does it take to put you on the spot here, but just give us an update. We just want to hear live from the track. You guys are there now. So what's happening at the ministry tent right now. Wonderful biker right are what what what is the most probably exciting and challenging, or give us some kind of personal story of this lies that you guys are able to touch there like have you had a good conversation. You know and just just some some way that you're helping to steer people to the Lord what's happening there today.

People like her right like a dark alley. That's class is right there for sure is wonderful. God wonderful morning that is tremendous.

Janice God bless you. We appreciate what you doing out there so many different things going on so were glad to get the heads up on that. Thanks for calling in today. See you soon. Dennis finally got Willie is in Lexington. He's been hanging on a long time will he do you know the other Cadillacs on.

We have a mentally when we went little brother, you get all good with you.

A great child that was like when that wonderful. You started really, you got it. It did started. I appreciate the work you and you get a good job thank you Willie God bless you and I appreciate you winning. And thanks for calling in the will. Chaplain I'm interested now you can go around of these tracks with these guys and from what I understand the players for a couple years and maybe you can share with us how you seen God show up it in unique ways as a chaplain there at the track in so many ways. Let me say first of all, thing that I always say about NASCAR in the military is the fact that the fan base are so supportive of things that we do in the Christian culture where you can really say you can pray in the name of Jesus and so many things that happen that blesses my heart all the time but what I see happening out in these campgrounds with Greg and these other folks who are silks like Janice this morning.

People that are committed to Christ and are reaching other people and because there's a connection because they love NASCAR there out where these people are and when they come along.

They feel more comfortable talking to someone that is religious that cares about and in the end, proclaiming Christ, and so so many lives or change people come to know Jesus in places where you wouldn't think just like she was saying there's some of those guys I would not even a dark alley but boy they love the Lord and so it's those opportunities every day that we live. God gives us the opportunity to touch people's lives.

And that's what I find it).

Along those lines, and asking God show me somebody today that I can encourage this with you knowing about the times I wonder what can I tell him well. Just what is got done for you in your life is specifically one of you seen them do up since your with support military.all or I'm interested in what you feel like it's Memorial Day weekend and and I don't want to lose the sense of why we doing this holiday would you know obviously we got a lot of celebration going on over celebrate some very vital that people are literally given their lives to support this country and our freedoms. What are some of their needs are. What are some ways that people may not be aware that they can reach out and support what I would say that most people who want to be a part in there so many people that want to be. They just don't know how to do it right, they don't know who to get in touch with them know they can trust this because you have a great website and your own TV doesn't mean that you are a good organization are that you're doing what you say you have a million Twitter followers know that doesn't matter so what you can do. First of all is in your own community. Find something about the military whether it survivor care or education for military families and vets and all these programs that are going on going on wherever your list and they're going on right in your own town in your own city get involved with one of those and you will be serving the military you know Dale always says well I never served a day in the military but to us it means so much. People call us heroes because you were in uniform and because we do have to break right in the middle of a great talk, but we got so much more coming from our chaplain just get Mel down. We got a handy way. Got Jerry and we got our praise is still coming up some state that is not the man and one have the finishing winter folks with us today actually in the studio we have Dale Hamilton anti-Bowersox and Col. chaplain Steve West as well as her good friend Jerry from Ray's body shop or Christian body shop guy, as we are celebrating Memorial Day weekend in a big way with all the different things were going on all these different racetracks, which kinda leads into our praise about the real black book as we talk about always. That's where we search the Bible for hidden treasure Crown for discernment lift up her voice for understanding as I was beginning to show this week. Interestingly, so reread the wrong devotion out of our daily bread.

They did it for holy Saturday which I was called Easter Eve and he meant to do it for May 14, 19th, but it was April 19 and start out.

I'll never forget the Easter Sunday 1993 when Bernhard Langer won the Masters golf tournament and as soon as it started out that way we treat broadcasting to devotion every morning and I immediately I bristled. I was like what they're playing golf on an Easter Sunday and I realized as I listen to how this man glorified God with what he did on Easter Sunday that that was a little religious spirit in me, that was well enough and you know Jesus had a real issue with that. And so did Isaiah in size ring Isaiah 66 is a last His last words and it's a fascinating chapter but it starts off with God's really really ticked off of these people with a religious spirit and we looked really ticked off the people to go on the temple making the sacrifice and it reminds me of some. I learned a long time ago and you learned it in Sunday school, but I found out I learned that backwards. How many of you know the little saying this is the church and this is the steeply opened up and you see all the people. What I found out is that's backwards is that now if you put your preservative.if you try and drive and don't do this to put your fingers together like you're not to do this is the church okay don't do this people yet just open it up and see all the people just what, that's the church this summer you wiggle your fingers because that's all that. That's the church is not a building is not. That's people. The church is all those people. This God in you.

And when you get together, whether that's in the NASCAR tracker if you're at the Masters golf tournament. If the people are there in God's interim God's way more excited about that church, then he is about this building and Isaiah. Start out Isaiah 66. I don't need your building.

The earth is my footstool.

You don't understand what he's interested in is how we treat him and how we treat our neighbors and Jerry were saying. Some I think that's significant about Memorial day and what some of these people fall for you know it's we live in a society in a culture that you know Satanists certainly got his maintenance there be people celebrating Memorial weekend and will be getting together to be one thing. This left out of that that is the fact of Jesus Christ and would Christian Jesus Christ is the one thing that is accepted to discriminate against you can.

There's no tolerance for that from parts of the world and sit in the room this morning with these guys and step what they're doing. They're encouraging people to come out from under the cover come out and show your faith and step sort of what you just said with the Northanger you know whatever situation were in the bold is what Christ wants us to do is be Bowlby Christians that are are bold, you know we we live in a culture that is as mentioned earlier, the guy can do a commercial on ESPN because he has a faith in Jesus Christ and shared that testimony to guys can't do a TV show on HDTV because they had student from an abortion clinic and also did not support any rights and stepping in gay marriage. You know what the biggest thing was they can't do a TV show on national TV on HDTV because there Christians and went and denounced her faith in a Memorial day in the Memorial weekend is about men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for me in each and every one of us and part of that sacrifice. If they were willing to that to give their life for was the freedom what this country was built on that was built on God, built on a Christian relationship you go back in history, and if they enter me a slip of a slap in the face whenever you think about the fact that Memorial day weekend as part of the things that the world wants to take out of it. That's what those men and women gave the sacrifice he continued to get that sacrifice and service country for is for that freedom and that ability to be able to stand up and say I'm a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ and that's who's gotten me for the guys are out there. You know, serving and if it's in the military if the race track if it's on the golf course, wherever it may be be boldness what God calls us to do stand up and partner with Jesus Christ and let people know I am walking. Walking is different is walking the walk because I have Christ walking with me and he got a challenge that he is going to work for the day. Well you know we were on the city represent different ministries and and just thinking about how God uses in and kernels to share this uniquely a few minutes ago but you know a fume it was back maybe back in February we had Elliot Yancey on were going back to NASCAR at Raceway ministries and Elliott brought out the comment that we think about a lot TV Austin is what are your God-given gifts, talents and abilities, and how are you using that for his glory, and so you know Col. Steve is he's got specific God-given gifts, talents and abilities that he's using an military ministry and and Dell has his third crusader and through leading Finnish winter had in mind and particularly RR with caring for pastors and provide encouragement and so I would think even this Memorial Day weekend as you're listening.

You know contemplates as a God, what are my gifts, talents and abilities that you given me, and how can we make a difference with this weekend and I want to say also that often God has given us a heart for certain things and I know that Dell's heart is to be out. That track and that in and he's given you that the platform to be able to do that, but he's given your heart for that but also in ministry and so I know there's a lot of listeners right now Dell that would love to know your heart what you looking for in your race team this weekend, but it's now just think about what you're saying I Tay a big thing is this is the weekend to honor military. A lot of people have red white and blue on that's Fourth of July weekend wear green where camo where Navy where the military colors this weekend. Honor our military. Let's show them that we love them and appreciate everything that were doing.

Let's show them that God has ordained them to protect us and we honor that and when were at the track this weekend you'll see a lot of that you'll see a lot of military members. We've got a wounded warrior this going that's going.

That's our guest today.

He's going to be announced here in a few minutes in the drivers meeting the drivers are going to give him a standing ovation because that's what they do.

They appreciate our wounded warriors we got for members of the military, they're gonna be our honorary crewmembers today and honor them and they're going to have a blast and not but take an opportunity to find a military member and show your love for God by showing your love for them and that's what I that's my heart and that's what I would let people seek to do and part numbers one more time in your twitter account and you can follow all of what were doing it support military or with our race teams at Dell at L Hamilton DLL Hamiltons real simple.

At Dale Hamilton daylight Dell computers Hamilton at Dale Hamilton and follow me on Twitter and I'll you know you you get the most current numbers again are 32 in the cup series and 19 in the nationwide series support military
