Welcome to the Christian Car Guy radio show. The cop show dedicated to helping Christians binds all cars by the book. Nothing will book knobby orange book would buy God's book, the Bible called the Christie car guy with your questions. One 866-34-TRUTH that's one 866-34-TRUTH 7884 is being a Christian have to do with buying a car you're about to find out is your host Rollie Gilmore, today's Christian Car Guy show were going to be talking about teen drivers from apps to stop texting and driving. Maybe on a smart phone to an up and coming young teen Christian racecar driver actually 15-year-old Brent Bryce Napier is beyond with us at the bottom of the hour you recent study shows were losing teens at the rate of 210 a month to motor vehicle crashes and we certainly have gleaned some interesting stuff from a bunch of statistics that were just posted this week and so this is a live show and as always it's our listeners that often make the show and I and we love your call so you know you can always call any question or comment 866-34-TRUTH 87884 but I do have a particular question. I'm looking for today is I am on a quest to see if there is a good smart phone app to stop texting and driving.

If you've got one or you got one for your teens.

I would love for you to call us today. 866-34-TRUTH 878-8401 on request quest myself with my phone this week to see if I can find a map for my iPhone 5. That would shut me down from texting or calling or anything like that in.

I downloaded several phenomena give you the result and some of it will be helpful to you think I think in there's one app that I actually think it's kinda cool but it in no way shape or form would shut me down from texting and so it's almost comical.

What he's doing. That's really talk about that, but if you got one that works or you're using it and it is working for your kids. By all means you call us 866-34-TRUTH 87884 but also a big part of if you got a team driver upcoming teen driver is there some insurance stuff that's headed your way that you know that I'll never forget when the first time my child reach that age.

And so we've got our Christian insurance guy here with us to an end bill you got some amazingly helpful stuff that that you can add to the conversation last certainly hopes alive for many, many years that encourage my clients to bring their new drivers the end to sit down with me.

Let me discuss what it costs and what the ramifications are have added that in itself is a marvelous to put it. If you have an insurance agent that you have a relationship that's one thing for you to tell your child the results of certain think driving behaviors but it's another thing for your insurance agent to illustrate for them or telling a story or two about web-based people used to could afford car insurance, but after three tickets and their premiums being up over thousand dollars month. Whatever the situation is its graphic list life-changing. When the parents and the driver realize you can't just take them off the insurance. After they get the tickets there stuck with that high rate no matter what you're listening to Christian card I show and we are bringing the kingdom of God through an automotive platform and on the show we talk about things like racecar driving and not speeding. We also have the Jesus labor love ministry car repair labor, not the parts, but labor for single moms widows and families in crisis and of course we can have this racecar driver. The bottom they are, but also our good friend Amy Bowersox who does know on track with Andy he is Anna. Pray for your pastor to reasonably call in the bottom an hour to hear from him.

As always on to mention our website, it's Christian Car Guy.com and if you go to website today to see articles on Bryce.

This young racecar driver there's articles there on I on all my web happen with me on these four apps and you know links to where you can find them. Whatever. There is really a cool page on the statistics from teen drivers that show your state and you know what the death rate is your status compared to other states, but also gives you all sorts of helpful information for your teen drivers is just a resource for you. There is Christian Car Guy.com want to make sure you're aware of that but you know getting right into these apps and again please. If you've got one that works. You call me 866-34-TRUTH 87884 but it was my hope, actually feel that I could get in there and find a map for my iPhone 5 that would literally keep me from being able to text and call and drive and stuff like that and when you look at the at the screenshot.

When you go check out these apps. They seem to indicate that that could take place, but not even close to what I'd recommend is if you'll take that thing and put it in your trunk that is very unlikely that you'll technically you driving. We have screenshots knowledge links are Christian Car Guy.com but the first one that I tried was called the overwatch, you know, and it had me so excited because you know and said that man this thing will shut you Daniel not be able to text, you will not be able to call nothing like that and so I cooked it all up and bore you got it. You gotta go through a lot of registration. Give your name, email address, come up with a special password and I can see your kids will come up with a weighted bypass images seem like it was so tough security this. This must be the one I'm so excited. I felt I go to lunch that day on, drive around, and it does absolutely nothing. I mean nothing. I mean I can text, call unit tweet whatever I try several things. Not that I'm in, I'm in a safe place trying to do my best just to to test this thing and it's doing nothing and so I think, well, my phone is just bogus and so I boot my phone uploaded put the app back on. We install it. Redo the password to redo the notifications and everything else that you supposed to do I do this three times bill and guess what the results were all three times. No help whatsoever that it did nothing and so I thought well there support writing in support for this app so I go to the iTunes Store to find out where the support would be for this particular app and it sends me to a website it's a Facebook fan page and there is absolutely nothing on the heat on topic undated of T anything really was a free habit.

I got what I paid for absolutely nothing on the overwatch. Of course if you work for a watch whatever and you got a way to make this thing work you call me III understand it might be me. I'm ignorant. I don't know but I could not get the thing to work again. If you have one out there that works.

I would love to hear it. 866-34-TRUTH 8788 for the next one up is called the Canary and it's well named because this thing is the tattletale. It tweets like NLF to say if there's one of them that I would recommend the parents, the Canary is the deal and again he got it downloaded.

You gotta registered. You gotta put in a you know three level of security password as all sorts of stuff to make all that happen, but it does in fact send you an email of every time that you have an infraction, it doesn't shut you down the it sends you an email every time your kid text every time they text, or if they speed or if they Hawley has oriented to anything here. You got emails flying in and then not only that, but if you click on that email will take you to a map to show you where your child actually is in their white well they are refracting out. I'm emitted to me. I thought this has some definite possibilities because you know you if you put this rule in your house that wow if I get an email.

It says that you use this thing you know you're gonna say goodbye to your phone for 23 weeks and I'll know if you've ever taken your child cell phone away, but it's almost like a death sentence. I mean that there is an there's a much more worse in their life and take medicine after the 47th email in the first hour.

I gave my kid, I would just quit reading the well, you know, at that point time hopefully you have your phone number and I just they're just texting no matter how intelligent design email every time they text good and only send you an email with a text while the vehicle while their phone is moving faster than 15 miles an hour will that I confused you are sorry that a whole world out. Now it doesn't send an email every time it it sends you an email if they text while there phone is moving the delivery model to other right they could be writing about literature on a train or plane.

I mean, is there a minutes as he reported the end of the day, but shows you all of the stuff and where they were and you know all that, as is fastly reported into the well maybe there's a way to adjust the settings in it, but I wanted to get as much as I can possibly get. So again you got a Christian Car Guy.com you're gonna see my report on all these different cell phones and see you know the link there to Canary if you want to try that again. I have an iPhone 5 and I realize her's iPhone 6es out there there's iPhone 3Gs, there's androids and from what I could see through all these tests that I was doing the android apparently is easier to shut down that I which leads me to wonder what Apple was thinking exactly but it's clear that nothing that I downloaded came close to shutting it down. The other two that I tried, which were in a pretty exciting was the drive safe mode.

Now the drive safe mode at Gannett had my hopes I was man I was pumped up because it it it was like put in the number for an emergency calling case. Gotta make an emergency call site. All you have is can shut me down thought click off as one person like my insurance agent FF FF, but the Looked up and evaluated at me totally sold that this was going to shut me down. Well, you know, I did go off and I go down the road over 15 miles. Now I begin this to start a text just to see what it can do you know what it does build morning morning Smith drive safe drive today. Okay now that is stopping. We have more on our team driving statistics. We have more on these phone apps. What we need to know is you know something because I'm desperate out there for an app that will shut me down 866-348-7884.

You got any question, he follows eight 663-4870 in blood in the air this morning. I tell you how to get your kids well the driver because it is probably more effective than most of the apps that you may be getting the show with with Barney text and didn't people prefer the game would have Internet that had been minor as that that but we would love to know if you know were talking team drivers today on all sorts of different levels. We've got Bryce Napier, neither 15-year-old racecar driver out West that you will be one and is a Christian and you love to hear about him we got anti-Bowersox colony in but right now we're talking about these phone absent and get into some teen insurance issues as well and and ideas for teen safety you call us with your idea 866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH get all this information is a Christian Car Guy.com as well as the Canary app that I mention might be worth trying out a bill of one thing that you brought out that was certainly a situation is that since this thing he looked. I showed them email, it showed me that showed exactly where I was and what speed I was going which was by the speed limit my life when I was texting and he said will you know what Robbie if you data accident will go ahead. You explain, in most states.

Now there's a law against texting while driving. So if you're involved in an accident in your text.

The penalty can be a lot higher and you can be assist responsibility of an accident you that you might not of been responsible for. If it had not been for your texting Sophie in an accident and the other party can prove that you were texting you set yourself up for a lot bigger insurance problem. The other thing that I would encourage people to remember that we some fun services. You can go on the Internet. Pull up the account and you can check whether or not one of the things that you've got the end texted and what time it is and you can work some of the set without a program at all, which means that they can't get around the program. Now the other thing to remember is when I checked half the kids out. They are using something called Snapchat which allows them to send pictures they wouldn't want their mother to see and they disappear.

Five seconds after the picture guys but also what they text disappears and is forever lost in the ether five seconds after they send it. Even with some of these really great programs are teenagers probably are smart enough to find a way around them. There's also a way to put a program on your phone and hide it said that nobody short of the nasty technical engineer with a FBI databank can find that program other than the user of that fund. So their ways around all of these what I would recommend you do is to bring that young driver in and sit them down in front of your insurance agent and let your insurance agent. Say son or daughter you need to understand your parents are paying this amount of monies for you to be able to even drive there paying this much amount more than that said that you can have a car and drive and then it doubles if you get a ticket or an accident caught speeding and that I've got clients that are in their 20s that could be making a house payment for what their insurance costs because they've got four or five or six tickets in their driving record. Sometimes that insurance agent can get. They were a young skull, especially if you've got a habit that you trying to encourage you young driver, not the head.

If you roll through stop signs. You aren't going to be able to explain to the kid. They shouldn't and if you text every once in your life and they see it while you drive, they will forever remember that one time they saw you text and they're not going to listen to what you've got to say where if you bring them in and sit down down in front of your personal auto insurance agent.

There's a good chance that they can get through very very few with the youth that I've set down with and discuss their insurance with end up with a ticket or an accident and and there's an amazing point that you made that I really have never considered myself that if you are texting and driving. Obviously your phone company has an exact record of the time that that took place and so if there's a horrific answer accident. You can count on the fact that person is going to sue you that there get jurors to your cell phone records American ANOVA text took place at that particular time in that moment of the accident. This certainly available information and they can also obviously ascertain the location if if this program But getting back to the Canary is still in my view, I'm actually going hook my 15-year-old daughter up with it.

She's we've talked about it. She likes the idea. I'm actually keep it on my own phone big as is just a way to remind me.

Robbie use your head here.

Second, this is in the good thing you picking it up and you're going to report on yourself for because of the Canary, but I think the idea behind as it clearly it it it clearly is a tattletale and it will tattle even on their own self, but one of the other things that I gleaned from all this information on teen accidents and against so many teens losing their lives that I think is a significant thing is the states that have the graduated licensing programs are the ones that fairway better than the states that do not and it seems like the stricter the graduated licensing program is the, the last teen deaths that are in that particular state. The way that that works is in North Carolina is a pretty good example of it and were 20th amongst all the of of all the states is that you have to have a licensed adult over age of 21 with you, driving you get illiterate learners permit. To begin with, and so you gotta have somebody preferably your parent with you for the first year that you drive and you can't drive after certain times at night and there's also something's ago that it is one problem with that, that take my child to the driver training class and there was this one young lady that would drive a get out of her own car ago it'd take the class with him anything for that stuff. It appears this if you don't have that in your statement is not a year-long, you might consider enforcing that in your own child. You know you make the rules. You say look, you're not gonna drive alone for the first 12 months, or even 18 months, which is what we've done with our daughter and what I did with my other two children as we didn't get a better license until after 18 months of that particular thing and then there's other than the date they graduate up to another level of provisional, where you can't go out after certain time of night.

Are you only have one passenger in the car to get all this information is a Christian car guy.com some other tips for teen drivers. We would love to call hear your call from with your experience. If you had a nap after 11 866-34-TRUTH 7884 we come back we got Bryce appear that beyond racecar driver and any Bowersox cannot breakfast Brickey could be good for me to stay focused speed faster than fast, quick and quick lightning lightning. Well, that day, we are talking drive version we've been talking about the phones and things along that make jurors but now moved to the other whole aspect of teen drivers because we've got Bryce Napier on with us and we got any Bowersox was on his preferred pastor to her, but Andy set up this interview and so I'm very excited to have you on Bryce is a 15-year-old racecar driver out there in California. Thank you very much I really appreciate it it it is we are just so grateful and were anxious to hear your story, but a first but are you actually and able to drive with the permit out there in California yet are you are driving on the streets. Yeah, I got my permit in March and I've been driving with my mom and driving to school every morning.

The grocery store wherever we go eat you like if you let she does like the brake pedal over there is that there is little hard trying to get the brake light that feeling it's it's it's that's exactly how I feel. Often we have on with us.

Also Bryce we have any Bowersox to set this up because Andy is a great friend with Del Hamilton who is a friend of yours and Andy you can tell us the connection to lower their art.

One might I I write like an outreach event that week actuator here you at going tell you other guys or but anyway what I want to think that the joiner guy use the platform a great NASCAR and other dog actually to help evangelize and reach the world with the gospel through the five motorsports and so bright, long-running attribute, it felt right back down on you gotta follow that you and so actually, I meant Dell I won the championship in one of my other eight cars that would culminate up when I was about nine and now winning the championship. I got hot passes to the Vegas NASCAR race and we are standing in the garage and we are looking at cars and seven there is a wrecked car there and my mom was really scared and she she wanted to talk to the drivers mom and she could let the drivers mom potentially collect and she said I want to talk to Cosmo. I want to hear he is.

I want to understand how she puts up with this because I sure and that we literally bumped in dead Del Hamilton when we return in around that about three hours later we laughed and we had been talking to him everything and then we went home and looked them out when we are at the track we saw one of his cars, which is that I am second car without Blake Cook was driving and when you thought that was really often, we asked what Leonard I am thinking they could look it up looking up. We looked it up and it's that's also not an organization, and that really cool.

It is we went home and searched up Danielle and then we met and went down to Ontario to a church event and then and there and we been connected everything and then right mercury arc.

For the port military program through which which felt good about that while you're yes so I asked for military gives support to venture any through verified organizations that help find jobs, cars, and whatnot for families that veterans when they come out of service and then they also do VIP experiences for the veterans that the tracking regular call family down in it on compacted and independent. Let the kid, and it is a really awesome organization at night. I really like having the military on my car great and looks great. We have the picture here is that car is a Christian car guy.com as well as the picture Bryson and links to all his ministries in his racing and he's got Twitter Facebook coming and very well spoken Bryce, I'm I'm here to make a partner that you are right about that quick you find out what that was all about. Yeah, that's a really exciting thing is happened in your life. Bryce and I had not was not aware of it but can you explain kind of what that that is and we have that information of the website to it's the Kulwicki driver development program yet, so I was chosen as one of the drivers they chose seven drivers ended phone interview and that it's an organization that was started by Allard out a quickie family and closest friends and his crew chief and it organization to basically depict seven drivers that are 18 to 25 and we actually submit an item like that in a pick me and that most of our late-model drivers and just like when I'm driving now and at it. They created it to get out of quickie name back out there. A lot of people don't know how to click his name. A lot of people never heard of them, and it is going to take his legacy out to the new generation out the kids and they chose 18 to 25-year-olds that we could talk at other younger kids and get Allen's name out today to the young kid well and I know one of the things her audience would definitely be interested in is how to use you seal God working with you now that you have this platform that not only obviously with a quickie driver development program and the sponsors that you have for your racecar in the exposure that you've been able to get what you are. You're experiencing God in different ways.

There Bryce, or could you tell our listeners how you feel that's going To continue to be led toward godly Christian man. I mean every every time we meet someone likely meant Dell and what I am second car in. We got to meet Blake cook foods.

I just edited it keeps coming along and I cannot God let me every time when I'm in the car driving and he keeps me safe but my goal is to do and I am second video actually in able to talk and you want to know is that he is amazing how God is raising up young people like Bryce that that and they keep coming like Blake and Wayne. We see them along the way, is just amazing what God is doing out there. Through this particular platform that you think I think I really routed it all started with Michael. Take out your member years ago. Michael gets really started growing relationship with the Lord and recognize the huge black partner than to be able to share the gospel to share what that personal relationship looks like Aaron God, and the opportunity another note, there are no shortage of media coverage around the scorcher moderate and so to be able to gain the recognition and what they're doing personally and then share like how that about how unique and I would think progress away the Lord to work in their lives have been a tremendous tool for our organization is aware and and other one. Blake and I expect and others that you are the ones that there's a lot of list as much as you listen to the test to show the day against Andy are you in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I admire my wife background that were driving through a fault and may dinner at the world earlier looked out the on the radio.parlor credit and yet here in Maine and Bryce is in California so great, great morning. Your but that that brings up the next topic that certainly we want our listeners to be aware of is this pray for the pastor to her. You did try to go out west. Apparently, you're going east this year and bring us up to speed on what the pray for your pastor to. Sure, Albert died today are out week last year started break your pastor or which I actually thought was to be a lot done thing in our ministry is about continually engaging the church in the body of Christ that large to be more actively investing in the lives of their pastors and church leaders, and so we can for last year it was a combination of 101 with pastors across the country with church that with the media partners like yourself. There, and God enters the speaking engagement. Even if you like national permeates involved, so it ended up being at your vendors experience and really good thing we came back last year. I just felt like the Lord wanted us to do it again and really even commit over the next five years to produce the summer bus tour and so from a strategy standpoint, we've got a broken different geographical areas to get a little deeper penetration and now we started with the Northeast this year. This is an area that made the gospel rocket that we deftly holding you and Bryce over for the next segment so I know in the we got so much the cover, we will be back up in the next segment with Andy and Bryce. We got a few more team tips and you stated we would love to take your call to. By the way 866-34-TRUTH 870 anyways – because all his sacrifices on the one that shows the man in an show who where we Bryce Napier. He's this young up-and-coming racecar driver, 15 years old and already has this amazing platform for Christ were excited about it. We get any Bowersox ease up in Maine on the pray for your pastor to work Bill Nixon with me are Christian insurance agent and we been talked about teen drivers and certainly insurance is a big aspect of that if you got a upcoming team driver and a core suite. We went through all these new apps that on the iPhones that we talked about how you might could shut down or not, shut down and asked if the case may be, all the test results. All that's a Christian car guy.com is well aspect of Andy's link on where you can find out where he is next on his pastor to her and Bryce is ministry Sandy you are talking about, you know, when we left that you are now up there in the Northeast and you found that it's a bit dry. Comparatively and from a kingdom standpoint and can you explain your for those of us in the Bible belt law were not used to churches like that and maybe you could it would be helpful for our listeners to see how we could pretty be praying for those pastors erupted.

There are probably like your Facebook page. Their work work but not daily, so asked that we made were the mother request and after their Facebook page, but you know it just for the case and point you know where we live in you and I live in the in the art of the Bible Belt, Carolina and there's things like bears their churches and ministries require, you know, there's the thick culture is that most people go to church and I have actually even referred to that issue be healthy and inside the walls of the church in North Carolina.

There, there really no persecution for the first offer being a church on Sunday and even be involved with your church and God, and in the in the Northeast particularly regularly are now not like that at all.

There is no actual notebook visible evidence of first workfare even for even being affiliate with the church up there and unfortunately it feels like I like out of the area and I think that because one on Petronella just a few days.

He has spent like I can work with. Could you give me one specific per request on what what it's like to be a front-line minister of the gospel. Your if I correct anything that people with and stay come here if you come the more calls you to find a church here come and stay with and don't give up when you get to talk and really stuck with it is a very different climate. The there's not that of the churches that are here in the ministries that it bears there is a little bit for I expect a lot more collaboration where there are here to support each other you get back here in an independent church in the end this thing within which to stay within 30 miles of each other and they all know each other and they're all physically praying for each other by name and by ministry that after real encouragement to me to see that the need is much greater than that in the people that are here to serve and reminds me Andy is my I interviewed some Lebanese pastors one time and I said you know when their country started to be invaded and and people were running all over the place.

All the sudden the churches didn't care anymore if you're presbyterian or Baptist for the body of Christ comes together when when persecution shows up Bryce. I'm sitting there wondering how encouraging is it for you. A young 15-year-old racecar driver to think that hey someday, when you're doing that that finisher winter event are you doing I am second car or anything along those lines that those pastors up there in Maine or in New Hampshire. Whatever going to be enough influenced and encouraged by what you're able to do here that their prisoners would be able to take and take advantage of that. That's really great night. I can't even picture that I mean that that is really awesome. I I would love to be able to do that someday and and it's interesting. I'm also curious because we have a lot of listeners that I have teen drivers so you're out there on the street you have your permit.

Now your mom is trying to hold you back. What's it like having obviously you been driving racecar since you held five. Since you are five okay and so you been driving racecar for 10 years now you find yourself on the street with speed limits and things like that. What will it tells about the transition. I don't really know how to write very good guidelines out of a lot of unclear or not I am waiting for the radio or my father on the radio tell me clear clear outside, but I know how damn it, I got use my mere but at any at my moms always tell me that I can't drive I can't guy like you do on the racetrack as if I do that I'm I'm not at my insurance again be superhigh and you guys are talking a little bit early. I had given out insurance without backpack my life I saved you dictate you can have road rage against Ronald Reagan.

I never like when people passing it confined by me and I will pass about or something you I'm on Skype, paddle shifters and I like you to know some of them on. You don't need to and get yelled at me for doing that but it's definitely different.

Turn right and so will tell us about your cars you got paddle shifters I'm interested in.

My mom started to gag, wire, and staff that it's got a V-8 that's pretty fast, but she never like the guy that no doubt you know when those cars go by you.

You got a chance to catch up with that I was cool is that will tell us about what's what. What are you looking forward to right now Bryce in the way of raising you got some coming up a car or something that you're excited about that and forward to were actually open maybe to be able to go back to Wisconsin in race with medically get drivers back Aaron Matt and the really gracious financial money and that fickleness back to be able to go back there, but it would be really awesome to be able go back there and that hopefully were hoping to maybe be able to win a championship this year and get some women, and we had a little bit of bad luck lately by dialing up to get a link or anything that that's what everyone's looking forward to. They need my whole crew needs. Elaine and I need a landfill at so I'm looking forward to hearing now is our marching orders to pray for Bryce that that that the Lord will continue to raise up his career as it it it really is a platform for ministry in a way to reach rocks and lots of people and you faced that with so many race teams that you're involved in.

That's a constant struggle to get the winds to get the support right here in York address.

That for the teams which are associated with it's always hard to raise and support. It's always hard to to find supporters and sponsors and those kind of things you notice I would think part of the electorate. Bryce eroded it yet or not. When you're when you're an outspoken Christian and your readily carrying the banner of the gospel. Believe it or not, there are there are plenty of what would be mainstream thought. Have all talk you because because of your affiliation and I think the example that you never less than a year ago we got played on the radio there was and he he was turning a sponsorship capital because of personal conviction that he, for not even on his racing phase. Just as I think of your face the earth where pace and not actually Fox News jumped all over that it brought to light but that's the world we live in right now if you take a stand for the gospel to stand up for what's your pleasure. You will thank you also listen to the Christian car guys show again if you've got a question you can go door asking experts take see you have an insurance question for Bill Mixon.

It's easy enough to email him or you want any of these resources on to Mary or the other phone apps to shut down texting or the research on teen drivers across the country. If you want to get connected with price ministries, with prices, race team and his ministries. Randy's ministries all their Christian car guy.com. Remember slowdown. Jesus walked everywhere he went and got it all done in 33 years and join me in praying for our pastors
