And so thrilled you ran a 5K this morning just to get here and so could you share with our listeners a little bit about how God has been using you in but you're actually in the car business. I didn't share that, but how he is used you and that line in order to be a light out 12 years ago, like third-generation and we been running it for about 15 years now, but about 1213 years ago that I started realizing that God was more than just by Sunday and occasionally unite for my life.

Caleb, when we deal with folks in shelters and stuff where you know the only reason were not in the shelter right now, you and me is that the just by the grace of God. So where were very easily, you know, maybe two or three or 10 paychecks away from being ourselves but those people always have this phenomenal gratitude in the sense of why would you care about somebody like me and to go to the effort to write all that on the only thing is, she could find was this paper plate shows that this lady had a phenomenal gratitude when you agree to those of a lot of those people are just of very, very glad other people caring. I was like Chris. I was at car dealer and we would have sales meetings every single day.

Imagine you guys have it to write Chris and what I found was an extremely effective sales meeting was what we called the mutual admiration society because so few people ever hear anything good about what they do and so I would say okay to this morning were declaring out a mutual admiration society Simon a call on each salesman and I want you to tell me something really good about another salesman that's here at the table or there in the meeting and it was amazing how beneficial that was and how the salesman would feel pumped up after that and that was pretty cool. And then I got the idea crazy as it is to put a paper plate on their back.

I took a string put it around on the paper plate just like that. Caleb and I would put a paper plate over the head so that would be on their back and then I would have the people right out stuff that was on the paper plate and so that this person will not only have the admiration but they would have it in writing and be able to keep and it's a phenomenal thing. I'd used it as a Sunday school class one time the same thing, just tell us what you like about the persons in your Sunday school class and I went to a reunion of that Sunday school class. It was high school kids.

I was doing it for this reunion was three years later and they got to talking about their paper plates and you know that over half the class still had their paper plate. Chris while because how how often do people tell us something that's encouraging about one week only test in an and in you know that in the car dealership. How many sales managers are beaten down every meeting and now you go out there you just get it but oh what a difference when the people that you work with give you something in writing that they really care about and what a way that we can we can be an encouragement and an and God gives us easily. There's stories of people that were hurting and and you saw God come through for what your employees that you knew that on that day, when it all burned.

This particular story would still be there. Can you share one of those force young gentlemen: Joe cleanup department so entry-level he's making eight or nine dollars an hour watching cars and we had done an internal employee only blanket drive last year about right and we got a blanket drive for a local women and children homeless shelter and this guy generally start with taking hundred hundred 50 blanket loaded up the truck he took over there to the shelter and when he got over there. This young man had the need to be done some significant financial and other needs a hard worker to get. Come back and you can straighten all you know their kids after their home in July, I was aware that I just saw a bunch of the reduction of Chris will I don't know a lot on trying to track with you know, I'm not sure what they'll do what they can to move in and out of their and he said I want to do some going to carwash now one of the things that we do on a regular basis is date carwash for local organizations. They come in, bring the labor we provide all the tools they need water so exalted Russian everything and we let them do it carwash our property charge a dollar raise that money we paid him $10 recording wash each into their organization. We had 50 people show up. We raised about $1300 which he had been bring a toy to clean the back of the truck if they did have a dollar they donate toys. We had a truck load literally $1300 in cash and he got taken back to the kids the Chris just watch when somebody else take that idea runs with it when there to guide and need and fill I just blew me away and and I and I can relate to that so well Chris because I can remember that it was often. You know the guys in the in the wash. That had stuff like that with their phenomenally giving people and at an when we used to have a Bible study there in the dealership that I had it in the end they would and come and share and it was just a phenomenal thing to watch as he began to shine a little bit a light how people would just blossom in the opportunity to do stuff like that and you know it's it's just ultimately so cool that God has you in such a place as this. I do it three times a week and describe on that website is every week another two or three, and is just what got my heartbeat or something were doing and work something like that didn't work, but my goal that website started out as a hobby. I didn't think it really would ever get any traction I was doing it for myself but it morphed into something that really done fairly well. It got a lot of encouraging responses back from reader. Basically my goalie built other business owners and leaders to see their business and their job and how I hear your head occupation is exciting.

Can you kinda take us back to that place and where you were and how it happened was the is when I was a younger private 10, nine or 10 fill this as during my harden. I talked to my parents and they kinda walked me through through this depths, or whatever you want made sense to you when your parents told the thing made since the most was that was Jesus love me for who I am.

That's a big thing that that I got the and then he for gave you. You gave me and it gives be within one day.

I mean how cool is that that's pronounced so happy for you and Chris. I am always curious as one of the things I love to hear about is at some point it seems like our faith just becomes absolutely real was, and you take us back to that in your life like Caleb became a Christian, 10 years old. My grandmother cried and growth in the church until May will, but it was 30 years old when really just a series of things happen and got got my attention started with the left behind book I read the first one, and what struck me not as much with the story but the fact that the guys were left behind. It finally realized what it they grab the Bible and I couldn't put it down by Consuming the Bible every chance they had when they were awake they were reading and learning and I just hit me in the face that I didn't. I was a Christian of the believer and I like reading about that big man started a daily quiet time and over the next 12 to 18 month lag wrote in my passion just loaded and interest from that point forward. It was real.

It that's what state or what you think a Dixie cup Dixie light maybe not like that ever played the Dickie play with compartment God with compartment, and I realized that point he was actually wanting to be the entire flight in every area of my life, work, home, community, whatever would be about, and 30 years old is when I really got. This is my entire life make so many wonderful points and that discussion Chris and I have people all my life. Tell me Robbie, you need to have boundaries, you don't talk about faith in this setting, you eat you. You don't become friends with your employees. You don't become friends with your clients. You don't share the Bible with people that you work with, you know all these kind of things that that people have boundaries. I don't know how to put it other than act apartments in their Dixie plate. Like you said that that's where that goes. Always told me Robbie one of the great believer is a great example. Delia he always told me you do not make it with politics, religion, or it people all separate and and outlawed opposing him and that you get that boundary idea. You gotta keep it that is for me. I know it is for you christen and for Caleb as well.

I mean this is life-and-death stuff and as you described in the in your picture that everything else is going to get burned up, so if I care about my employees if I care about my friends. If I care about the people I work with.

How in the world could I not ask if you notarized and I am like you Chris that I'll read it a bit of something in the word in the morning that just light my fire like those around me know. This week I've ever read about the whole thing about breath in the fashion and how God spirit in your whole soul, so to speak. I immediately had to tell the company tell the people I work with tell my daughter when I'm in the car with her because I just experienced this in its units in a way it's like God is put on your armor every morning. If you go into the word you see one of the pieces of armor is the sword of the Spirit. Well if you didn't get the word today. You got no source of unity God indirectly battling you don't have any weapons, and so I think it's so cool it again for me.

Having been in the car business to hear how God is continued to do that for you in E also do something that I never did so I'm I'm very curious about this year you employed a chaplain for your employees and and that gives them an an opportunity to be a little bit more anonymous in an issues. Can you go to get explainable bit about that sure I had the illusion. Robbie three when I started to realize that they would come to me. I think it was in early 06 and we had the same chaplain for the last eight years and he does a phenomenal job here 13 Friday most of the day birthday and you know from a business owner perspective, we want to make sure he is not interrupting or blowing people down that they are very thick that so the conversation looked like it goes along. Phil is after hours or be up for lunch or break that thing. But just a phenomenal program and it improves morale people that matter who you are. People go to work with baggage they can bring their their job from home. They just have issues and for somebody who's date eight training chaplain to speak with him about it and leave them one to solve their issues and help them talk from but also become to fate in Christ and I just don't know if you get a better some of you actually have that happen. Chris where yet employees come to say absolutely excellent.

Like you said anonymous earlier, the employee can share with the chaplain and the only way he can break that confident. Hurt themselves or someone and that that is not happen, but the report every month showed how many phone calls made with employee because they called it phone is available 24 seven, 365 days a year of on call and he felt happy times they had a recommitment to their fate. The Bible says they shall know us for our fruits. What does your fruit look like my fruit is this still growing. Because it's a it's a daily daily thing of walking with God and it's never-ending to till until Jesus returns the it's it's growing in the right direction with our it's a beautiful picture and I can't tell you Caleb that for me. One of my favorite book in the Bible is the song of songs and one of my favorite parts of that book is when she, the beloved, who is the bride of Christ.

He goes knocking on the door and she not ask for. Next, she takes off, and now it it starts to search and it will result in this phenomenal conversation between the beloved. The bride of Christ and the people that are in attendance. There and she goes on to describe all that you know why her beloved is the most fair assignment.

You know that's it. It's the fairest of 10,000, so to speak. That's where that comes from is there in that discussion in the song of Solomon, one of the neatest things of that is when you go from the fifth chapter of the six chapter of the song of Solomon vascular kind where he is in. She knows the whole time and you know it's one of those things you really like, you know I week and she says I know where he is. He is walking amongst the guard minis looking at the new buds and easily gathering lit another words he's down there enjoying his new fruit, and so as I think of your life there. This can happen at Calvary church and and they will probably be 30 to 40 people come to Christ through that event right, you probably will be in this lady that was at the homeless shelter when you when you're over there and others fruit did and so every time if if you know whatever it is that God gives your passion forth against your passion operate the soundboard show you how to make fruit happen from that if he gives your passion on how to operate your business. You can make fruit happen from that reckless and so it's it's it's one of those things that were just also blessed.

But I'm curious Chris come Monday morning. You can have a lot of employees can be talking about Paris and and I had that question. I'm Christian card as show. What do you have any light that you could shine for them. Sort of is our last words today question Robbie is a hard thing to look at night and will fight wisdom so I can't do that when I can tell you what I would tell them will tell them Monday. The bottom line is he is not changing you exactly what he was thousand years ago yesterday and I can count on faithful and that's the only reason I have hope so. I look at the world that kid growing up in this world and just want to rip left of my hair out back to God, that he is near to Jesus loves me like they would fit for who I am regardless of my work flaws and I corrected that and just product it. What happened in. What happened you know in in the city next to it or whatever that you got it under control and that I am unprotected.
