Welcome to the Christian Car Guy radio show. The cop show dedicated to helping Christians buy and sell cars by the book, not the blue book knobby orange book, but by God's book, the Bible called the Christie car guy with your questions. One 866-34-TRUTH that's one 866-34-TRUTH 7884 is being a Christian have to do with buying a car you're about to find out is your host Robbie Gilmore. What does being a Christian have to do with buying a car last week I was at the National religious broadcasters.

The natural tendency I'm walking across a restaurant there and obviously there's a lot of broadcasters and folks in one of my good friends Dr. Michael Brown recognized me and said Robbie commitment, I wanted initiatives you guys and Dr. Brown said this is the Christian Carter to which course that always brings a laugh is the people at the table or find a picture and I want Christian.

If this and then I got to my right. He looked me straight in the eye and he said in a he didn't say it is if you heard it in the apis and my show every week, but when he looked at me with the question sincerely he said what does being a Christian have to do with buying a car animatedly is interesting how God gives you something else.

It's I hear that every week, but my mind went right to an article that I wrote a few years ago called battling for the best price. So what does being a Christian have to do with buying a car, especially when it comes to battling over the best price and you are about to find out on today's show in here to help me with this one my favorite battlers of all time. My very own Christian junkyard guy Bob from one of my new POTUS can be fun and about going to be a lot of and there's been so many changes in the lady sale cars. Now it's time to take the Haglund out of it. That's my favorite part.

Nothing like a gorilla that the sleeves and get into into and can't be afraid to stand up and door-to-door.

One of my favorite maneuver getting all that.

But with this whole subject of buying a car. You know, for not everybody is that's just not such a pleasant experience.

I was trying to think of a name that noise that would be appropriate and I came up with one that I really like Celeste. Let's have fun Bob in play may not know if I'm at the name that is all that we've got one call at 86634 that noise when you commitment noise you call us 866-34-TRUTH 87884 and if they can name that noise when I'm is here to have that right land Easter type of the devotion to do everyday. The seven last words from across amazing book buyer very own Stu Epperson. You can win that by: 866-34-TRUTH 87884 if you can name this noise say that's nonparty fact that you're listening to noise that is been around automotive shop might've heard on more than one occasion.

If you can name that noise you call us 866-348-7884 you looking at me. Bob, like you, my commandment know I have never been more sure my entire existence noise you have, but that would hundred percent or 866-348-7884 is a number to call him if you can name that particular noise in the course were talking about battling over the best price. In this article that I wrote that if you if you read that article and will get a lot into it here shortly, but the underlying thing that I want to bring out is that the second commandment but you know love the Lord your God being the first one and the second one being a loving neighbor as yourself is a key part of that struggle and of course Jesus was asked that question. You know who is my neighbor and when he got asked that question. It was his answer that ended up on my second adventure for the NRB yesterday what he said was he basically told the story of the good Samaritan and you might remember that this guy was beaten up and on the side of the road and the priest went by without doing anything believe I went by without doing anything that we are on our way back from Nashville last night in the truth car is at work for the Truth Network and several of us with the actually three of us with the Truth Network were coming back through Asheville, North Carolina on the road between Nashville Tennessee and Asheville, North Carolina, and there's a part of that roadway gone up the mountain and it's really really curvy and about this time Rochon are actual he does or social media or social media director very talented young man he gets a text in the text that he gets is called the says listen this guys it says what's the right vitamin that every Christian should take B1 vitamin B1 and he goes on to explain what that means to be a Christian and is he's explaining this B1 text.

I looked to my right and here's a car broken down in one of these very tight curves. They are gone up Nashville and sought the side of the road, but I just barely see him because I'm in the curvy Mary is and there's there's a guy about my age, which is older, you're still spring chicken breast.

Thank you. And he's waving and it looks to me like he's got a short sleeve shirt with night and it's cold and it's in Asheville and in the mountains and I'm thinking you know he's gonna be freezing definitely needs like waving like he needs help. I got a carload people run away to home and a course, there's no way I could stop in time and the curve to get torments on about 1/4 mile down the road and that's going through my mind. Robbie, are you going be as neighbor, the one shot of literally reading this thing out here about you know what it means to be one and I keep my mind. The Holy Spirit is just grab and hold me same Robbie are you can be the Levite, are you gonna be over there about a block away from so you can just forget about the sky I could new so we we go down the next exit turnaround come down another exit come back up using when easiest thing to get to. We finally we get into the curve, and there's the man a very nice management. By the way, I now know a lot about this and he says can you give us a jump and to give somebody a jump means you gotta get the front of your car to the front of their car and were in this curve the coursework behind them.

So in order to get the car to the front of his. Gotta get in this curve and flip the car around so I can get the nose my car to his car and of course I've got these two guys with this that are members of the true team and I don't think I completely prepare them for what I was six. To do that car as I had to flip it around to get it to the nose of that other car which is the final part of the story because after I made that maneuver. They refuse to get back to say that I can you flip the car back around the other way. After about to make a very long story short of forcing their car wouldn't start. I got in my best and as it turned out they live in Greensboro and we got an opportunity to go all the way back with them. I we brought him into Winston now the whole you know you your you got to people that were in the car so now there's five of us in this primer, get to know each other. The cool thing was I got to Harry who was Terry and Ronald. This man knew more heat, listen to my show, and he knew more about AMC cars and I do and my father was an A- dealer and I mean he was tell me about AMEX and it just turned out to be this damning. Can you imagine to car guys for an hour. In fact, that everybody is in the car crazy. You think that Manley had the best time we are talking about. AMX is in all his stuff and what it what it you know we just had the best time in the thing of it was clearly God's the hero in this story because the Christian car guy I may have it. I was thinking about going on the other side, but managed the Holy Spirit was just grab and hold my heart and twist you got turnaround out you gotta turn around. Gotta turn around and I'm so glad I did because that way got me Perry got to see was going on there, but we got always that we we loaded the lines of people that can aim at noise but we gotta go in the first one who is Frank in Salt Lake City. Frank, can you name that noise. Thank you. You are exactly right in and if you ever noticed how that sounds would kinda be like babbling for the best price, but also similar to the knowledge that it a dentist drill down just like when I was thing about what some people feel like an egg on buying a car is, going to the dentist by someone at impact wrench. It it has this feel of buying a new car. It was the name that noise.

Frank, you have one.

Thank you so much for calling today.

That's awesome God bless appreciate your call right now.

We got all these other folks on the line and and before they can. You can go in a minute. After the break there and check with them, but they may want to share story because everything besides talk about babbling on the best price. I'm wondering if you have a Samaritan story you would like to share one where you maybe were the guidance on the road or maybe you're the lady in a satellite or maybe you were involved in something like that. Now it's not always safe to pull off in a closely harmful guy so I know these things are differently offset of that. But if you have that store you call 866-34-TRUTH 8784 so much more I specially when it comes to family over the Christian Car Guy show but since it has a lot to do with being a neighbor. The next question is what is a neighbor and if you had that opportunity to see what a Samaritan labor situation is where somebody needs help on the side road of that kind of thing I would love to hear your story. Course, my truth compadres will never forget their turnaround in the middle of Interstate 40 in the inside of a curve they did, they wouldn't get in the car when I turned it back around the other way and I couldn't understand this and see into the now vacant, but they they did the learner 866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH would love to hear your story, but on this idea of battling over the best price or/how does what does being a Christian have to do with buying a car and a lot of folks like us, that they may look at buying a car like upon the 2001 have anything to do that negotiation whatever so in any case, when you're going into battle as a Christian now, in my opinion, we ought to do this every single morning. Regardless of what were doing, but I know for certain if you're going to go into a negotiation with someone over anything you need to put on smart right and and the good news is that in Ephesians 6, Paul gave us a little insight into what the whole Bible teaches about armor because our battle isn't against flesh and blood. Now you may think that that guy because he is a salesman is the enemy by got a look at that way. That guy on the other side of the table is trying to feed his family. He's working hard. He's probably about as scared as you are and and and he's got a boss he's gotta make happy and there's all sorts of issues going on and so from a heavenly perspective you know is the forces lining up against you and the salesman are pretty heavy duty you need some armor so the first thing that they tell us to do and you know it kinda goes along with the car that I spun around a little, 40 is truth.

You got a belt on that buckle of true I cannot tell you how important it is from a standpoint on both sides of that table because the first time that somebody starts lying then it's game on and as a salesman you learn very quickly how to determine when somebody's lying to you because there's all these common questions that you would ask are you going to try to car no, that's what they've all been taught to read a book somewhere I'm not supposed to tell Mama trade in that way I can drop them after they give me the best. That's a lot. I mean if you got a trade-in and you tell them you don't you know you essentially now the salesman looking right into your eyes and they know your lien and guess what they are thinking oh it's game on that you may not have a trade-in and insincerely adult and explained that, but if you do have a trade-in or are you have a credit issue or you have whatever issue that you bring in into this negotiation process we need to get that stuff out and we needed to be the truth because if you tell me the truth and one of the other and then all of a sudden, you begin to develop the sting of trust because once trust breakdown in any relationship, especially in a new relationship, you know it's game on and these people are playing that game every single day of their life and their planet for five times a day and so and if you play it once or twice, you know, years every three years. It's your you're outnumbered and there's four or five managers with them that play that game and so you know that is not the way to go about it in the first thing we gotta do is we gotta buckle on that belt of truth, and we gotta walk in the truth and think about the truth for the next piece of armor that we gotta put on his breastplate of righteousness and where that fits in, and I think it's a really cool thing is in the right relationship right and it's just like Bob came in this morning and we need to download the stuff from Nashville, but because he's the kind of friend that is, he immediately jumped in the right Bob and start helping us unload the van. That's what I did on the Titan #that's over there but where we have such a relationship that and that right relationship that feels good when you're working together with somebody that's how it should feel when you buy a car.

It should feel like were working together to accomplish a common task which is to get me a great card a great price, something I can afford exactly what my family needs in a right relationship. That's what that feels like in the when I'm trying to put on righteousness as a right relationship with God and I've got a bring right things into that one of the rightist things I gotta bring into this transaction is a right attitude and the attitude being that the guy across from the table from me really wants to help me. He's not even wake up this morning thinking how can I hurt somebody's life.

He woke up that morning. Hopefully thinking what can I do that would be worthwhile to help somebody if it's help in my business helping my family. There's a lot of people to help the situation but I assure you somewhere in there is this is this heart and that heart wants to help decide you want to and if we go into an attitude that were going to bring out the best in the person that were working with and that makes all the difference in the world and that has to do with a heart that's why it's a breastplate that's really amazing brother. That was the one of my employees was not performing Leyland's attendance is getting really bad analysis that their thinking. This is this is not working out. Then I need to just get rid of Amon and I just was so profound in my mind it termination was the exact answer and God slap me in the head one morning and said she nodded have your your path cross with this ghastly terminating and putting right back at now.

This company, Moran, G Sadie could developing into a good employee because parts of his work ethic will really get a little bit of vanity and a little bit of the tenant one to be a little tardy occasionally. I started to encourage him and lift him out and telling the gotta that I had planned on terminating the gotta tell me that that was not his plan and that that will limit data encouraging and uplifting men and in helping have you feel better about yourself and and be more positive about this and that and just in no time at all and he became the employee I needed him to be and he already had part out of place when I forgot about Bosch planning.

It's a great thing and it's a wonderful thing to see what grace would you do a relationship. We got so much you can imagine there's more armor to talk about more how does being a Christian. What I have to do is my foreign we need your Samaritan story.

I know you are situationally led. 866-34-TRUTH 878 just say that Jane will not know how to stand as they trained anything in was not data me see. See all maybe your hold nonzero cars praise the bad liver how to deal with car salesman and that kind of thing were talking about how what does being a Christian buying a card? I shall but also what is it mean to be a neighbor and that asked that people calling with their story there Samaritan story on the side of the road when they maybe somebody past and buyer.

They pass somebody buyer or the situation that happened to them. We have merit is in Boswell Washington. Their colonnaded 866-34-TRUTH 87884 Meredith you're on a Christian card I show good morning. I'm so glad you're up this early this morning and listen to it every morning and every Saturday morning and every year you my speech today you started your program with today about what is now having having a car having to do it and I was a passenger driving down really selling and saddened their car just does not get dad and pulled off Outlook around trying to figure out what was wrong.

Couldn't figure out car wouldn't start when start when start on the way I felt like God speaking to my head.

How can you believe that I can hear you if you can't think I can even start a car so start the car and drive down the road to my friend and I wish that I can start the car and drive down the road. God said how can you expect. I can hear you if you can't even believe I can take the car turn the key.

We drove down the road. Nothing about your car and he gave you these stone right there that you always remember what it was out of the blue and I really believe it was God speaking at the moment, how perfect I had lunch with my brother he's had dinner with my brother Nashville since he lived in Nashville last week and we were sitting at the table and he said he said to his wife. Should I tell Robbie about my God, wink, don't tell Robbie about her, wink you want to tell Robbie about my God, wink, and she goes tell Robbie about so for those of us listening and I would appreciate your prayers for my mother she's really really really ill and those who've listened the cyber she found cancer delivered now had the bone cancer for a while but anyway Mark was struggling with that is I am also. He also had some happened at work that really frustrated and he got a download for his car that was supposed to upgrade some part of the software and he went out in his yard and he put this download in this car and it wouldn't work and it was like a bug or whatever and he said Robbie I got furious at God. Now I'm not to be used.

The expletives that my brother used on the air, but he was extremely agitated and he was like, I will use some authority says I guess you're just Santa Claus you know you just give stuff and any screaming at God. And if you're really blah blah blah blah. God, he said then you would make my phone connect right now and he said, immediately because it's voice is white lit up, and in his. He said he's because he used all those words is that the voice is excuse me sir I'm I'm always good in every law, but nothing too small for guiding awesome.

I'm so blessed by your call that I am so thankful you know I used to have a paper route to not terribly long ago what that's like There may commit making that happen. God bless thank you much for your show. I really enjoy that message you great cyclic lady and you and you can see that going on up there. We got mountain man mowing walnut movies.

Got a question for me Matt man this is Robbie how are you will evolve as well. It's great to hear from you not heard from you in a while what you got for all your dealer. My father actually is. Most of his career was the Buick motor division. When I turned about 11 or so. He got out of Buick and open up American motors Jeep dealership in Albuquerque New Mexico. This is about 1970 and so it became AMC right shortly after it was American motors and that's where I began my love for American motors and Jeep and got him he can't make this. It's deftly the case of the door and a Taser on the classic I still have, I will it's not drivable have one at the yard now brings back great memories know it really does possess were great cars and and you know it's a shame that they are no more, but they live on for those of us who know that there is one.

American motors car left and it is all over the world and its nearby the billions of people just don't know they're driving a rambler you know it is not everybody out there driving the Jeep grand church, UK, let me just share some with you is not a cheap. It is a hornet sport about station wagon and if you go back and look your eye back and look at the hardest part about wagon 1972 model and watch it later becomes an eagle, which was, you know, I really know car that they poured AMC renamed Eagle and they made it four-wheel-drive well when Iacocca bought Jeep and the Eagle from Renault in 1992 right in there, he went up there and saw that Brandy Jeep Eagle on the on the manufacturer that they had designed for 1993 amigos that'll never sell as an eagle working to make it a Jeep and so they put a Jeep grill on and they went from selling it for $17,000 for 25,000 extensive grill.

What it shows you the value of a brand is a Jeep that car sales tremendously and you can see them all around the even today, but those of us that no jeeps always had leaf springs and jeeps had a certain drivetrain's Jeep had a certain every certain type of four-wheel-drive, but the Eagle was a little bit different and you see it had coil springs and so when it when it made the transition. They didn't take all the insides out of the Eagle part so that car, my standpoint, no everybody drive a grand Cherokee is still driving a hornet sport about station wagon. You know I'm saying one of the things I remember about that old AMCs is thereby used to like to have the spindles to make trailers with because they bolted on so well to make Tyler you well I appreciated your call so much. God bless you. Thanks for calling you. Thanks, Brenda right well yeah that was really fun and if you got a story you want you want to talk about Nancy car somehow means you because 866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH but getting back to our battling for the best price. What is it mean to be a Christian and buying a car.

One of the things that if if somewhere. Hopefully the conversation with anybody you mention your relationship with the Lord, and that your Christian now. Once that comes out, you now have a new thing that's going on. You are now a witness for Christ in your everything that you do when they're looking at what a Christian looks like, and you may be the only Bible he ever read. You know that story so let me just share with you that when I every car salesman out there. One of the first things are going to get taught by their sales manager. I know because I used to do it was you had to watch out for the three-piece in the three-piece unite when you waited on the customer. These are the three guys that you may not want to wait on some music in the background. That's because we've got to get up right when we come back when I find out what the three-piece arbiter wanted knowledge know that one of them is a please and one of them is the last thing when we come back because 866-34-TRUTH 878 840 got proper music I like that.

Five. Mayor Alex is 80, like the 30 miles to the gallon. What does being a Christian have to do with buying a car that's what were talking about today, but also what is it mean to be a neighbor.

Maybe you've got a Samaritan story to share. We still have time to have the segment all means you call us at 866348788486634 truth and we were going through how we see that armor when I get to go into that negotiation process and I was mentioning that every salesman out there, gets trained in the three-piece that the patent three-piece that you didn't want to wait on because they were probably waste your time and you know it was just a reputation that they had and they were policeman physicians and the third one preachers and course I was not a Christian when I learned that adage, nor did I really ever think much about it but after I had my relationship with Christ. I could see kind of what we do with our witness when we treat people a certain way and you know that's when you when you hang that flag out there.

You say your Christian that should be a good thing and hopefully in all situations.

We are flying that flag. But that comes the next piece of armor we talked about the breastplate of righteousness than your feet fitted with the gospel of peace and I really think in my mind that a lot of people misunderstand that piece of armor that when we saw him and he fell running to tell David the news when he saw him running towards them on the battlefield. Unfortunately wasn't good me of Absalom. It died, but David said that said, he fell.

He runs he must have good news and he could tell by the way he was running so they got messages those days.

Their letters came via foot mail then they could tell by the way that somebody was running if they had good news or bad news.

They had an email back and and so when somebody sees you running in your fetus must be fitted with good news right there fitted with the gospel of peace. Are you running when people see you, does it look like you have a smile on your face to look like somebody that they want to talk to that they look like somebody that's really good to be delivering a good message form. What are your feet fitted with that kind of an attitude that you've got good news man. II got really some awesome to tell you and so when you're in this negotiation process are your feet fitted with good news and then put on the helmet of salvation and and that's another one that I really struggled with over the years because it says that Jesus put on the helmet of salvation and the passage in Isaiah that talks about the helmet of salvation and I got to thinking why would Jesus need to put on the helmet of salvation, because clearly he was Artie safe and then I remember the scene from the passion of the Christ where they were just beaten on Jesus's back when he was getting the lashes and he was so hardheaded. What was he hardheaded about the reason why I felt like take. He kept on bringing on the beating was that they could not get over this guy because he was so hardheaded. He was so strong the strength was unbelievable. It was beautifully pretrade by what was it that was his hard headedness. It was your salvation and my salvation that made him so hardheaded that he could take any kind of be in the helmet of salvation and my Mrs. Robbie's radical view, the helmet of salvation is on so hardheaded just in my own selfish but in my brother salvation and that car salesman sat across from me, or that waitress it just waited on the next person that comes up or the people.

I picked up on the side of the road that I've got to put on that helmet and get hardheaded that this is what this is about is the battle that the foot is for souls folks. So yes, I need a car. Yes, this needs to be Batman when I really go into a transaction like that fitted up with my armor.

Realizing yes this is gotta be a win-win armor to get a good deal on all those things that I do that through trusting and fitting my feet with the gospel of peace and put on his helmet of salvation and then of course I gotta have faith and as I'm sitting across the desk from one of my most faithful friends and and friendship has so much to do.

If I think about it that you know I can call Bob at any given moment, and I know immediately.

I have an ear to listen. He would drop anything he would drop anything to listen to what I do it and and that's the kind of faith that comes from a faithful friend and that word faithful is an amazing word in that shield of faith means.

Obviously, we believe God's going to come through and it's going to shield us from those flaming arrows but when it has to do with a right relationship with somebody that women transaction having faith in that person is a critical aspect of the relationship you see something about them in the and you know what it's like to have friends and why does Bob have friends like that because Bob that kind of friend I bet you anything Bob asked gobs of friends like that, but that's because Bob and and that kind of faith is like the fruit of the spirit. It's one of those fruits and when you plant those fruit. It comes with the seed plants, more faithfulness in your life and everybody else's and so having that faith and then of course yeah you got have a sort of spirit which means that you have some offense of armor and you have some Scripture there at your hand to use when when the time comes when that transaction.

All that said, let person ask you for the reason that the hopes in the so you may have gotten listed had popular with respect whether the hopes we have some in this. This is only need sometimes we don't realize that Sally needn't Sally got and I have been sustained in and that's why I've always been so grateful to you for listening to God or have you decided to come into this ministry.

You have always been so grateful because you made me look at myself different is had some great positive results. Met some great people through you in this this show and everything you actually gave me the perfect transition into the last piece of armor which my friend James Banks. He wrote many books on prayers will tell you he feels buying far away is the most important and that is the armor of all prayer right and praying all with all prayer all kinds of prayer. In other words, somewhere in the middle of this battle, we gotta be able to have a draw a clear line of communication with our commander-in-chief and as we put on this armor we start to ask God bring godly people into my life bring godly people in this ministry. That's been my prayer for the Christian card I show since its onset and and he's given me those and so Bob how did you happen it happened with this piece of the armor all prayer that were asking God for godly counselors were asking God for the right car were asking God for the right price and something that fits into what we can really afford and the means that he's given us something were not getting out ahead of them live. There's all those things and involved in it so to me, and I would I would tend to say that it is. It may not be the most important piece of armor that is in all the world. One of the critical pieces of armor and I don't know how you would walk with the Savior without having the armor of all prayer and I mean how wonderful it is just like my collar from Washington right when you get that still small voice turn the key.

Robbie's and what a great color. See and how fun is this next week I want to tell you is our 10th anniversary show Bob can be on their way to feel all are all regulars were going to be recounting 10 years of an absolute blast. The gods give us this platform so it is our 10th anniversary show coming up next week so looking forward to that. So looking forward to being back with you, and I am so so grateful everyone listening and for an opportunity for us to share this time together today.

Thank you so much and thank you for listen card.

I remember slow down. Jesus walked everywhere he went, got it all done
