It fluttered in the breeze, a young Marine saluted and then he stated the I looked at him in uniform so young Sotelo so proud haircuts square and isolate standout. I got how many men like him have fallen 30 years. How many died on foreign soil. How many mothers tears Christian card I radio show will be how many turns is it to the Valley of the light had no idea where I was until I started until I started turning, turning, direction turning the page turning the soil, turning my heart all roads lead the home may be true if you keep turning and sometimes you have to turn completely around from an allegation of perspective. The fastest way to the promised land. It ain't the way God took the Israelites and it was the cloud and the fire that led them if you think about that and I'm not sure how many times they are the pillar of cloud, saying, recalculating route with this memorial day. I can't help but see the road of this country that led through the him out the humiliation of the Civil War that neither side expected the direction it went, but it forever turned millions. I mean really turn millions back towards God as they saw the direction they were going was leading to death and the slavery on all sorts of levels and I know my own ways. Any been anything but the direct route to end this week. God had me on this lesson plan I had to do with turning especially the turning of the soil and that's a good thing. I discovered that understanding the parable of the soils was absently critical and actually the deeper you go the better in so many ways. But right now I want you to flip with me for a moment through the photo album of your heart and collect a few of your treasured memories of being lost. This lot someone was sure they knew exactly where they were going, but it may have been you on the wheel. Or maybe it was someone else, or maybe it was GPS. You kinda went from this place is I'm not so sure this is the right way to go to. I'm pretty sure this is where we plan to be and then I have no idea where we are and then home.

Man were hopelessly lost and I don't think there's any way back. Yeah, that kinda lost when did that happen to you and the cool thing that can happen as a result, sometimes which I would love to hear this part. I would've never found this place or seen these amazing people. In other words, God had you good lost enough to get you where you needed to be in that may have been in the valley of delight. Call now 866. We have lines open.

We need to hear from you.

866-348-7884 866-34-TRUTH for the digitally gifted. We would love to hear your hopelessly lost story course will GPS these days, it's less likely. Or maybe it's more likely I'll bet many of you had the GPS itself lead you astray. In fact, we have what is listed on the Internet at least is the top 10 worst GPS disasters are to share with you today, but will want to hear your story. A simple trip that turned in a massive adventure 866-34-TRUTH 87884 have my good friend Jerry, our Christian body shop guy with this, but for today show used very much raise wrecker service guy that I bet you got some wrecker service stories so they better believe it.

And you know and the GPS early on, Matteo.

What I don't know where they got their map data. This maps would sing you everywhere and you want another thing the towing industry realize most people don't know how to get home or how to explain how to get to their hassle where they're at you getting the prism while wacky places so call us with your lost son lost. I mean unbelievably lost story 866-34-TRUTH 87884, then coming up in the show we will be in our appraisal by the real black book that's were research the Bible for hidden treasure trial for discernment. Lift up your voice for understanding or to go to that whole parable of the soils and get an idea if you start turning the soil up you know where that goes in a course we want to mention our website where we have all the stuff all the parables of the soils and all the turning and all the stuff it's Christian card. I.com is hundred articles podcast while previous shows Christian card I theater podcast.

You can listen all that but also very importantly we have the Jesus labor love and we talked about last week that the Jesus labor love. We've had an awesome serious cases. A couple of domestic violence cases and one of these ladies called me this week and she said Robbie Robbie, would you let me say thank you to your ministry and the people listening out there for the way that these people donate now they pray your listeners make an impact and so she wanted to share this soundbite. She called and I recorded this but here she is sharing a little of her story. Thank you for allowing that off and well down here, my hometown, which is not black and Valley and for beautiful baby and now for two very and in my anything solid black vehicle for my baby and recently my client just went down about very little I he I feed motor motor vehicle company and went for a bachelor program. I gave your car you are black man my family yet, but I do thank God for the provision that you may help me get that taken care again is its wish I could get soundbite of the tears in the moments when these these people there desperate like being lost in there looking for help, Jerry, and then there's that moment and you had one here with the lady that actually donated the van for the other.

Yeah, three weeks ago. It was amazing how God will sometimes and that part of her. Her story sisters and use this to is that total witness and it's kind of amazing to me.

You know it will just humble ourselves and listen to God's call and she just happened to be listen to the radio that morning where the need with it.

A woman called in with two disabled children in needed transportation needed a ban and she had one that she was trying to figure out what to do with so you know instantly. She felt God pulling at her heart and telling her what she needed to do it. She just answered a call and then we sometimes can can miss opportunities for God's will and to bless us by just listened and answered the call and again you may not be aware of the Christian card – is ministry. It's it is a 501(c)(3). It's called the Jesus labor love car repair labor for single moms widows and families in crisis and we do try to limit that to people that are really in a crisis and do our best bet that. But if you go to Christian card.

I.com.

The website you see the Jesus labor love where there's an application, but also your prayers are phenomenally important to us and I want to thank you all for the prayers and the help that we got this this week for the couple of people that we have with domestic violence issues you're thinking Robbie is important. I think people realize that with this this this is something that God laid on your heart to start and I'm I'm just so grateful to be a small part of that.

But the fact is that that through this organization through your time that you volunteer to do and and and Bob also ponders a lot of time and Lori does but what that allows Jesus labor of love to do is if you send in a dollar. And that's going to help somebody if you send in $100 there is any any fees or visiting and what is our translational cost. They are bookkeeper does our taxes. All that she donates that the attorney donates everything we have no administration costs, so it is really a blessing how God is completely done that in the generosity spinoffs so were just blessed to be part of how God is helping people out there in the prayer aspect of Jesus labor. Love is where God comes in and help right now I need you to turn open that photo memory of yours and remember the time that you were so lost. I know there's a story that I would love to hear is 866387884, round and round. You may be going here lost.

As you can be. Or maybe, hopefully you're like me you remembering a time that you are lost, hopelessly lost.

Maybe the GPS got you there. Maybe it was a friend.

Maybe it was your father. Maybe it was your grandfather who was who was behind the wheel. I don't know but you ended up at this place. Remember what a trip and it was quite an adventure. You never realize that you're going to be taken on and we would love to hear that 866-34-TRUTH 87884. As we mentioned in the beginning of the show. This country is Memorial Day and and it's amazing how these conflicts even within our own borders led to both the North and the South. The places they never would've dream and they both fought the wars can be over in a matter of weeks but it took him to a place where this country is never been the same after in one of the one of those that the great awakening really came out of the poor people the Civil War that lost so many people that we celebrate the lives that were lost this morning and in lost is the operating word Jericho. Sometimes you just find yourself there. So you you gotta still in a by the way you I know you want to call. Here's a number 866-348-7884 866-34-TRUTH we got these top 10 GPS disasters, never to get those a minute. Jerry, you took off on time. In those early days of GPS and tell you what the GPS artist that I don't know where they got their mats in the road mapping from, but we were heading to my wife's family moved into town outside of Farmville, Virginia.

So far, but was the big part of the at area town outside of, but we use a GPS and we go trucking up there in going through a couple smaller roads and it was 2 Lane Rd. and all the sudden GPS look anywhere on route little green line is always way over trucking along and all of a sudden I come up to a big old gate going into a pasture and had a big sign is said maintain Rhodian's here and that is said to proceed open gate.

Be sure to shut the gate behind you so Michael what I do now, so we go through there so we go about half a mile and a pasture in the field.

The other side there's another gate same thing maintain Road begins here so he gate has a son. Make sure gate shifts behind you and is Farmville I'm thinking, how in the world. Of course, when and what we were doing we were tracking right beside a major road.

I never even realized that we get there is and how one. This is how they got me here and a member prayed, saying never taken a road that route before they tell you how to get babbled with annuity want to get Road back but you were the most humbling the things you can do this before mail hold next year will look into that wince you and say where in the MI and I get here, and what are you doing you have your story, you call us at 866-348-7884. We've got this list reads just unbelievable things you know you happen to Jerry but here this poor man. His name was. I guess that lead Mohammed.

He drove 6 m you can tell it was in the United States and on a railroad line okay so it took him down there the railroad line then and they arrested him. I mean, it was never thinking for is like what you doing. It was trying to explain to the police that you know this is what happened and I was following my GPS and even showed him. You know the thing in this but that didn't change the fact that they still arrested him. And even if GPS tells you to go down a railroad line don't do that as not a good idea. Unfortunately really a blessing that, but it didn't end up in on a crash so and and here we have two girls crash into a lake.

I mean, they've actually did from United States.

This is involving two girls ended up driving in the lake because her GPS navigation told them to the three girls that hired an SUV and blamed a bad GPS for leading them into danger the girls in question survived the incident, but drivers were needed in order to help recover the Mercedes from the lake using what a tow truck psycho you can watch the video that if you are those of the war Paris at their website we have 10 in Colfax. He has a law story tenure on the Christian card as sugar morning good morning which from what I'm like your partner there. I'm not going to admit that I was lost but now talk about gate. It reminded me of when we were little we were going to Myrtle Beach and my dad had worked all day that day was on Friday and asked my mom to drive and he went to sleep and we were in the back where you note on anyway. I remember my mom stopped in the car and punch in my bed and send Walker Walker won the Calton claim, South Carolina and Georgia where they had {a million you know you and she drove all the way into Georgia and I get the calcite been in Road witness get South Bend out as well. Gate girls know much about it. GPS.

I would no doubt operated in a way that some days of maps and things like that is, it's a different world. That's a lot of guilt about your mother mommy. The story my wife about directional challenge challenges that humble able will go on the beach one when you're with my daughter usually always drive it. They want to go down earlier and she calls me up and says everything looks different because we always go down rocking ham right 74.

The ocean now mean pretty simple route said to hell. I don't remember going to Charlotte coming up on Spartanburg that also going around election time to call in with your law story, think again. Outlets 866-348-7884 when you think there was any way you could find their 866-34-TRUTH 788 I wants the flag passed by. One day it fluttered in the breeze, a young Marine saluted and then he stated these. I looked at him in uniform so young and so tall, so proud with haircuts squaring eyes alert stand out in. I thought how many men like him have fallen through the years. How many died on foreign soil. How many mothers tears how many pilots clean shot down how many died at sea. How many fossils were soldiers.

Graves no freedom isn't free. I heard the sound of taps. One night when everything was still I listen to you play and felt a sudden chill. I wonder just how many times that caps had met my boyfriend. I thought of all the children, mothers and wives, father, sons and husbands within the lines. I thought about graveyard at the bottom of the sea of unmarked graves in Arlington.

No freedom isn't free this Memorial Day we are celebrating on the Christian card I show those who have given their lives a course Jesus gave his life before all that. It's amazing. Freedom is by no means free and sometimes we use that freedom is we've been discussing on today show to get totally and absolutely lost and we would love to hear your story of how that happened to you and maybe how that might've put you in a place you never would have dreamed 866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH and it does not necessarily have to be a driving lost story designed to illustrate with my own story of the one that came to mind as I was thinking about the subject was when I was a young car salesman I had a boss.

It actually was selling cars at Crown Oldsmobile in Charlotte at the time that is interesting, but in my boss's name was Johnny mine. I can still remember that I was in my early 20s. He wanted to take me fishing and I was from Colorado and just moved to North Carolina and he was to take me in the Linville Gorge gives a trout fishing can be amazing and he had a fleet manager and he was in his 40s or 50s in the fleet manager was in a much older than me, so I was just following them figuring out I grew up out west. I don't know anything about mercury really didn't know what they're doing. Surely they know where they're going and so we talked to these trails and there's ways down into the Linville Gorge.

There's the easy trail. Then there's the median trail but of course, these guys were experts. So off we go down the expert trail. We got down there we caught a few fish and it was fun and all that and then we started to come back out and they walk themselves and I was just following them and they walk themselves right into a box canyon, but they was a box canyon in the early spring. It was to be cold at night and it was getting dark and there was no way out of where they were going up and they began to just apps. I've never seen anything like it. My life, I mean they were panicking. They were like we are going to die that we cannot survive this night and I was like yes we can. This isn't that critical. I said you know were up on the side of this mountain is that I know where the river is if you go downhill. Are you have to be on a trailer anything but if you just go downhill and steep as this mountain is we will end up back at the river and at the bottom of the river is going to be a trail and it will take us out, but we will be out tonight will have to have to go out in the morning. Maybe we can get to the medium trailer to the easy chair as though I go easy and I smoked back then, so I had a lighter and I was like, I'll start a fire will be warm everything to be good. I mean, it's not.

This is not the end of the world. So we get down the bottom. You know eventually was my slow slide on the way down there and we get down the bottom. We start a fire and we get through the night. It was little chilly, but nobody died or got frostbite or anything. The next morning, but one of these characters carried a SideArm with him because he was afraid of snakes, some I'd really never wait when he slept that night. Unbeknownst to us, many of his bullets fell out into the soil. Now when we put out this fire because you will be a good woodsman that we were we, through all the dirt on to the what remained of the fire not aware that it was live ammunition. We didn't get you know maybe a half-mile maybe a quarter-mile item that we were down the trail on her way to the median trail that we eventually got out when all of a sudden World War III broke and it was so random that we could tell the shots were coming from where we were in.

We had to go back and investigate them. It was quite obvious that and he checked his pockets and he was like oh my, these bullets came out and and and and so here I am I that was probably 40 years, how long ago was Jerry. It was a long time ago. It might've been 40 years.

But I now have this memory is to it's just treasure. I said the adventure that I never would've dreamed of going on. He said they tell the story of you saving though I today and have a couple coffee to tell the story about this young guy Robbie Gilmore save my life.

So we gotta be careful who we trust immigrants were to get to all that turning of the soil in the appraisal by the real black book coming up in a minute but we got a few more of these GPS disasters we want to cover, but most of all we want to cover your story 866-34-TRUTH 878-848-6634 truth or arm or maybe you want to honor someone on Memorial day that is in your family but you know gave their life or recently had a situation we would love to hear that whatever your testimony may be your question, comment, maybe got a car? It was that that's forever 48663487884. Here we have a truck driver that was jailed over GPS mistakes. You would think, an Army veteran might have better navigational sense, but this wasn't the case for Doug Madison.

This man had to spend Christmas behind bars after driving a chemical tanker onto country roads that were only meant to have 10 ton weight limit so Doug told the local court sensing and that his GPS and defense to take them off Interstate 79.

He was eventually locked up for 10 days and told the local news TV channel that he thought the punishment was unjustified. So you know you gotta be careful with these GPS you know that this because they say you can go on a road.

It is necessarily mean that that road is the road sometimes his athletic common sense overcrowd some of his sooner. One of my favorites on this list is actually number eight which is truck driver takes 1600 mile be to Shirley. This was the longest ever detoured taken due to GPS disaster birdwatchers to picture Balter point in England looked on in astonishment as the Syrian truck driver drove a 32 ton vehicle down the small road towards north towards the North Sea.

It stopped for people trying to go to Gibraltar, which just so happens to be a small island. Around 1600 miles away, off the coast of Spain. When questioned.

Type in the direction away. When questioned, she said he had typed directions it for Gibraltar into his GPS device and went off on his merry way.

It's not known whether the man still works in the trucking industry.

It could watch the news report on the BBC website.

We have John is in Seattle. John you're on the Christian card as sugar morning.

I am awesome. Tell us your story well I guess I get lot near death story well yeah… Many years ago back in my 20s and outside of Seattle, Washington doings of Doug being in we had walked around the pond. You know now that much luck finding finding Dr. D, but all the way back I thought know there's a shortcut across the pond where the lot is where were part so we can we could take that shortcut and my body was a little bit reluctant guy don't know dollars bog in their I don't know about that all will stay on this diet. You go test it out right there. Now all I would in my early 20s I met out across swampy dog day and you know, unbeknownst to me, it was bog, which loads I got out in the middle of it and to get this thing right under my feet and now I had my shotgun with me and so all I can remember is going down under the water and it must've been about 10 feet and I think that the very bottom, that it was one of those experiences where your life does lack before your eyes like I might die here. I took a shortcut and short and I got down to the very bottom and my mom just a couple of weeks before it bought me a down jacket that was 180 down jacket very popular. I got out of the very bottom.

With my feet back and we we got a go to brakes were all dying to find out. And believe me, trying to find out what what happens if you hang on to the break when we get back to find out how to John come up out of the box will find out when we come back and we will hear your story. 866-34-TRUTH 87884. No matter how lost you are. Keep turning you eventually come around right in our hero John. When we left him.

He was down at the bottom of the bog 10 feet down with a down jacket on and it comes a time where you have to turn go up and relish the story John Wright. I was down at the bottom of the bog. I talked with Mike on the bottom of that back up to the top and I waiters on and they were filled with water and I love the stories from my dad.

Another dead a lot of people live ground that way because they fill with water bill with their and they turn you upside down and then you know you the wrong way.

I unclipped those and I drew my shotgun off into the water which was not intuitive, you know, but I didn't shed the weight that I had and I remembered you calling out the name of Jesus you know not, no prayer, no word, no know anything you know there no or foxhole right bottom of the bog there no long prayers just and I went from bog blogging again in the upper 20 GB on the water and you know that shock to the water shock to the body very very cold and so I went from bog to bog until I die eventually made it was about 100 yards the other side, and I made sure that got you are truck was able to get there. My buddy had to take the long way around and he didn't know if I had made her.this was long before the era of so-called 1980 and I made it. I was so thankful that my mom had bought me that down jacket that acted like it like preserver.

But the real like preserver was what my time that I live to fight another day.

I'm so grateful you called in and now you have an inventor to share your show.

I like to do it both Saturday morning appreciate the diversity that you guys share from automotive to high schoolers almost grounding wide variety. I went in one time with a plate as I know what that feels like it's terrifying not good feeling.

There was no there is no assorted time to think about anything except I get the bottom.

With b-day that you know as I recall, 12 when we just loosen John well John. We appreciate you calling and so much insurance today. We move into our appraisal by the real Blackfoot. That's where we search the Bible for hidden treasure crowd for discernment, and lift up our voice for understanding as I mentioned, I know my way has been anything but the direct route and talk about my personal way and this week God had me on this lesson plan. It had to do with turning especially turning the soil, and I discovered that understanding the parable of the soils is absolutely critical in the deeper you go with the better in so many ways. So Jesus told us this and I never meant never saw before. Mark 1434. Excuse me Mark chapter 4 verse 13 through 20.

He begins out by saying, do you not understand this parable. How then will you understand all the parables. In other words, he saying in order see in any parable. You first have to understand the parable of the sower and then he goes on through the rest of those verses describe the parable you know where the story of what happens to the seedlings thrown along the way and what happens and see what is thrown along on the rocky ground and then it gets thrown out onto the weeds and then eventually gets the good soil so I was like wow, do I really know what you know and with this new emphasis on I really need to know what this means I start to make myself notes and just think about these pass in the first half I came to, which was the hard path. It was obvious that you know the sea would be seen by the birds and taken away. But I really thought through that spiritually I don't think I had some begin to write myself notes on the region my own notes is here is what I went through hardened by constant travel, the easiest and fastest way through the field hard and worn our hearts get hard from going on way away from God. The seams the easy and fast way. So it's all too well.

Travel we want life fast and we want it now. We don't trust God to give us what we want when we want. I don't want to risk the time to really ponder the sea what cover this in meditation or prayer like covering us even broken up so I will have life figured out, I don't have the time for this hardhearted self approved arrogant. I will do it my way, such as those who hear and don't understand. Matthew Henry goes on to say, if we don't break up the fallow ground by preparing our hearts for the word and do not cover it. Meditation and prayer were like the ground of the path now that we ourselves are not devouring his food or bread right consents the seeds out there. Satan the thief comes immediately as Matthew 13 says and devours.

So based on Matthew's gospel in Mark's gospel we get a beautiful picture this moment like an animal strike so quickly on its prey. I picture this frogs tongue like Satan's gotta front the rate is out there and snatches that fruit from her heart. Or perhaps more appropriately, like a falcon Drive diving on a rabbit. His talents outstretched to steal my life. Lord help me devour this seed, Satan is waiting, lurking, watching me. Yes, even now he sees the Bible and he wants to snatch this food for me how the hardness of my heart makes a great launching pad for a quick getaway. Satan needs so as not to be detected, how much easier can he see it from the air when he sits upon are worn hard hardened arrogance of I know this stuff Jesus uses this example 1st.

After saying we must understand this parable in order understand all of the parables understanding that this process is happening every moment. Satan is very much wanting me to die of starvation.

Yes me is critical to my understanding of any parable. That was the ground of the path. Here's the ground of the rocky soil. We hear the word and receive it with joy. But don't send down a route I can accomplish this in my own strength, self-discipline, keeping the rules, checking off the boxes. Philippians 212 about verse 13 Martha not Mary. Oh it seems obvious to I'm not a legalist. Here's the mask I wear that allows seed to germinate, yet bear no fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing in CS Lewis book pilgrims regress here was the mountaintop place of the Anglican and the humanist and the classical they were three pale man's starving from shallow, rocky soil self effort, the opposite of Paul Bunyan's Valley of humiliation see in Pilgrim's progress where the soil is deep in valleys and are humiliation the mask is stripped off. We understand we can't do this about God and all three persons hear the word and receive it.

How many times today only times today will I take off without you, Lord. But the thing that is eventually you get through the weeds and believe me, I spent some time in the weeds this week and I bet you have to relet everything consume you about worry, rather than trusting God and limited the neat thing is if I want to get this really quickly is the good soil there is this picture of week coming up out of the good soil had to ever consider that the Holy Spirit is like the wind. See, we germinate through pollen and that pollen is blown through the wind well as you get good soil and you begin to get colonized right and you jump up, then the Holy Spirit takes that's that pollen from you and goes it can help somebody else there pollen so that they can bear fruit he see we can't bear fruit of acting we need pollen from other believers. So go out there and pollinate this memorial day by through Lisbon first
