That doesn't seem like this was a really long off-season. Yeah, I was just saying it's almost like monarchy Fleetwood Mac, but I'll make a pretty steep cupbearer tasks right yeah so yeah been out a while and I think the way it ended probably have been had left a bad taste out of the guys were here last year so what's forth get going so based on the way it ended, and what Carolina needed to improve.

Do you think at least in terms of on paper. Is it mission accomplished I think so. This is a better and a deeper team. I mean you you know it will probably cut on this but the guys who won't play tonight. Probably deserve to be playing in the NHL and that the good sign that you have a you know you have a great deep and talented and you don't want to guide Mac that's ready. You got out be here until February, but upon some instant offense. You know right around the time that outdoor game so they look pretty deep by me not.

They walked down the guys but like the guy they brought in Mike that all guys were hungry and went so we'll see how it all fits together. The that hunger that Brent Burns never won the Stanley Cup don't believe Paul Stastny is ever want to Stanley Cup Max patch ready write all these guys who are really good players and a case of Burns, probably a future Hall of Famer had never want to Stanley Cup. There is, in some ways correlation to bringing Doug waiting back in 2006.

What is what you look at when you see birds and especially paired with slave and what you see. I mean it. I think you bring the best of what both Dottie and Antoni D'Angelo brought alongside Jacob Slaven. He's got the. The offense of D'Angelo in a different way. Not the same kind of guy, but produces point is an offense of threat every time you got me. I and then you've got the size of of Hamilton and you know an offense of Hamilton but then there's your competitiveness that is reminiscent of the Tony to like the way Burns played on the ice is not a complacent guy.

You can add a different dimension back there. Maybe we haven't been before a big guy in the methane.

He's a crisp runner type whose strike fear and everyone but we'll let you know there and I think that's a big difference to me in no and that cop caring and just in the defense of the whole is having a guy maybe can. I want to give Carlotta lead by the way that Corey live on twitter credit.

First of all, for a lot of things. I called Corey first say all right what is this what does this mean Corey knows the inner workings of things like the salary cap and what is allowed for what teams are allowed to do and not in terms of waivers and things like that but some of the moves that were made were questionable to me and so I get credit from other people for say a joint partner to be on the day Bob above about but it was all Cory always tried to get like this is Cory Cory told me this, so I just wanted give you credit publicly anybody think that I was smart, no, it's Corey Hart and I stole Cory's words so you want people to understand that Carlotta let North a journal is joining us here in the outgo chose to get ready for the canes of the Columbus blue jackets tonight. The I like this roster to but if you had to be all right. This is one thing I'm concerned about what is to be two things. I would say I think that that second line centered by cooking at me with with such a company just needs to prove that they can, not just be a trio of really talented guys, I need to mesh together so many that success and sorting out what's going on.

The third pairing I think is important because as we learned last year you get on the road, specially in the playoffs team to come after the third parents. There's a reason Carolina won all their home games until game seven in the postseason until game seven of RAM to her neck because they got back George stall anchor himself.

Whoever the best player in line is right and then Jacob Slaven and Brett Hession and Brady Shea. You know that it was D'Angelo being able to play against the top taking those three groups of people and being able to put them out there against anyone is a huge deal and get on the road. That third pairing is going to be tested and right now, you know, the Honda is a good addition back there think that the good veteran guy. Let's see which of the other three guys can establish himself and none of them can then you know I already mentioned Max patch ready is kind of your bang. Here's our trade deadline acquisition figure and all this, but maybe they look to the bulk of their if none of these guys can really establish himself.

You you you mentioned earlier we might talk about some of the players who didn't make the team at least one that didn't make the team is eyebrow raising for some, but Jack Drury is going to start the season in Chicago and based on his two-game cameo year ago and the expectations going into this off-season we all figured that Jack would be part of the Natalie part of the roster, but probably on the ice on the in the opener against Columbus that did not work out that way.

What you think. The reason for that is and what are your expectations for Jack this year.

That was kind of his welcome to the NHL by not being welcome to the NHL moment. I guess you know I think you just kind of an okay training, You know it was okay. I get I don't think there's any concerns about Jack's work ethic about his conditioning about smart inquiries on the ice. We did play youth out there penalties you know they you the guy that a reliable guy. I don't think he's ever going to be a superstar player you were looking at like Seth Jarvis from last year where you have two of the guide become a star but you get to be in NHL.

Arad said so much the other day when I asked them about what they think of the camp and he said the object of your really good player, whether it now or later you know you got a bright future. I think that's totally I think you got there except unless I had a great camp. Nathan led the NHL in gold.

Last year he deserves to be on the team. I mean all the people who get aggravated that that people don't score goals in front of the net say what that guy told me like I'm never to have many pretty goals. He said talking to be ugly and in front of the net and if you want to guy do that. Natalie court in the preseason to exalt the client away from the goalie so you won't play tonight.you deserve a spot on this roster so you got a guy like Andre cosh on your on your fourth line start like there's a lot of talent here and you need to differentiate yourself.

You need to prove that they can't go without you and I don't think Jack did that this preseason.

I don't think that the everyone needs a panic and say oh no are one of our best prospect is a good I think he's a good young player to define and the good news is, you have to worry about him making a ton of dumb rookie state that kind of player you smart smart kid. It's just going to be no altogether so I wouldn't worry about them, but you know we probably go down to Chicago a little mad and waited up there and then, when opportunity is a physical game with the injuries there will be opportunities for Jack Drury this year and I like. I think I love Jack Drury to the point where I think his ceiling is pretty hot.

But like I could even see him because of the smarts and you know playing that second line center down the road if the rest of his game comes to. Or maybe he is he is legitimately the replacement if you will for Jordan stall even though he is half the person in terms of size of Jordan stall final thing for Carlotta.

Let North a journal. I've been saying this and the athletic by the way, congratulations on that addictive.

I've been saying this about this team all summer and people of thought I was a little nuts. I know they brought in Max patch ready.

I know they've added Paul Stanley late in the summer but I love that add Andre cosh a player they have coveted, ostensibly gifted guy player. They have coveted for number of years and Brent Burns but I think the difference in this team will come from the guys that they have had, not only last year but the past several years. 1 TB and can have good postseason they need to have great postseasons. Audrey needs to be productive.

Seth Jarvis needs to be productive.

They both played well in the postseason last year, but neither really that productive, just very talking AME has to be cut, become somewhere between what he is and what the player that was drafted third overall needs to be somewhere in that range and it can't be closer to what he was last year so and more teenagers has to be maybe food closer to the guy we saw two years ago. Not last year, so that's where the improvement is that is that a fair characteristic characterization of what this team needs yeah I mean you build your team.

You know with the building blocks and building blocks on strong in the whole thing possible though you know Sebastian, Otto, I think, have another level like that. I don't think he's ever going to be hard level trophy level guy you know I just don't think you can ever score enough to do that but we know we can score 40 goals. We know you got the potential to put 100 points, you know that's probably not enough to get you an MVP talk, but it's enough to make everyone yell stop and to cause and I think that's the level he needs to get too terrifying and you know one of the most fun players to me to watch NHL disc of the everything so well yeah that's huge special cough in nature. They both look stronger after that. I don't look such a conflict more competent that you always pretty confident but nature seems more confident just stood. They need those guys to take that for you know hundred 30 goals last year effective because of the empty debtors. The first powerful unit so a lot of people are expecting 40 goals to do it you going to have to really, really game it does going to break with yeah right shorthanded like you know what you don't have a great deal know for sure, but let's the short, my gosh, I will see you on the fifth floor at the NC Arena tonight Cory love little do it again very soon appreciate how good I got my chicken pasta here for my pregame meal and Wade Boggs 20 level in the Journal's editorial on my thigh probably cut them off just so I would just running at a time, but will talk to Cory La Follette throughout the season. He realized chicken pasta was like the pregame like what we why not should proceed and carve up at the same time very very good
