This is that the Adam goals you have financial advisory through capital financial USA.com. This is the Adam Gold show before we get to the wall of sound. The Morgans over Brian Strauss, Sports Illustrated. He covers soccer in the men's national team will play differently tonight against Morocco. Dennis is wagered on the US +110 to beat Morocco will be all be watching this.

I love watching the men's national teams probably be about one third of the squad, maybe a little bit more maybe 40% of the squad that we are likely to see at the World Cup. We will see Christian politically will see Brendan Aronson Walker Zimmerman but I don't know how many others will see Jedi my placings Jedi well will be one and 40 or's eye of the somebody names running that not not Penny heartily silly names running through Robinson Jedi Robinson plays plays left `right so it is a good great you know even how would it happen, but he's general so we will see some of the players who will be most likely featured as first choice players for the US when they get to the World Cup in November, but it's a lot of guys who are really new into the system to Satan and also talk to Brian Strauss about that and then Eric Compton is playing at the Rex Hospital open up at Waitsfield country club in North Raleigh.

He is here Korn ferry tour is in Raleigh this week so we'll talk to Eric Compton's got a great story for those people who don't know two-time heart transplant recipient plane of the PGA tour. Well Korn ferry tour but spent about four or five years on the PGA tour actually finished second at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst back in 2014 so the state is given them good vibes anyway will talk to him in a little bit real quick to do a Dustin Johnson. If you are just tuning in yesterday. The live golf series announced their field thought a complete field 42 of 48 players that will play in the inaugural bone saw invitational live golf series that's next week in London and it was announced that Dustin Johnson is part of the field. I mentioned this earlier Dustin Johnson's one of his sponsors, Royal Bank of Canada, RBC is the title sponsor of next week's PGA Tour stop the Canadian open well Dustin Johnson. I also mentioned to Greg McDowell's in the field and McDowell was also an RBC golfer. They got about nine or 10 golfers that they sponsor and McDowell as part of that group. Well, they were both fired by RBC. How big a deal as this. It's really just a big deal to Dustin Johnson to Greg McDowell but obviously not enough of a big deal for them to not play in this event, and here's why it's not a big deal. I can guarantee you this Dustin Johnson did not make $125 million from RBC in Canada and that's his contract with live golf, he's going to play the series. That means all eight Dustin Johnson's go to make $125 million to do so and that's why I said I said earlier that this series there is no reality it's not based on anything the Saudi royal family has endless money endless PGA tour cannot compete financially with what Dustin Johnson's go to make hundred and $25 million. Yes, they don't freeze so what what what what will happen now is that a gear or is that overall length of five I believe it's a year because Dustin Johnson is going to sacrifice probably all other outside money. Yeah Phil Mickelson sponsors. I mean, like rats off a ship vacated him the same will happen to Dustin Johnson but it won't matter what your make it 125 million to play eight events with no cut so this is my point earlier if I were Jay Monahan, I would be nervous and this becomes very simple because very simple.

You have essentially forfeited your PGA Tour membership no longer remember the PGA tour and discussion.

That's the way if I'm J money. That's the way it has to be otherwise. No half of the top 50 players in the world of the play.

This because the money is astronomical.

And again, like I said this in my twitter twitter thread earlier today. A lot of players won't care or believe that the general public doesn't care where the money comes from. But if the money if you said this, we substitute the Saudi royal family.

We sub get rid of that scratch that out and write South American drug cartel would change people's minds. That's my question. If this were underwritten by Coca-Cola.

That would be one thing, it would be a viable option because there would not be anything attached to this but it's not.

Not to mention it's also not based in any economic reality. None they don't care they don't have a television contract. Johnson is going to London to play golf for three days.times worked on verb that's that's the world we live in, and this has been Greg Norman's obsession for 30 years too old to utter but destroy the PGA tour but to exact a pound of flesh and saying it as when this story when he became attached to this on my golf course. This is a revenge store might've the point of this wall of sound is a function of this. There's no doubt there's a lot to do with Brian Strauss coming up in a couple minutes we don't have a lot of time so do you ever listen Dennis to the dream on green podcast eye-catching clips here and there they're actually very good. As part of volume and so they they put stuff on Instagram and in twitter a lot they do catch some of the stuff I do.

I am a huge fan of dream on green podcast he he goes. He drones on and on about something a little bit too long, but we all do, Eric. I'm sure there are people in the cargo of gold shut up about the live golf tour already and I to be. It's a big story so yesterday the latest episode is actually a mashup if you will, between dream on green and Collin cowards podcast.

I believe they just basically appear they just joined podcast will it's under his network.

I believe it's under the counter work volume is cowards know I will. That's, that's it. I do know that because it's always under the dream on green show and this one was the Collin cowards show that also appeared in dream on green's feet.

So anyway this is green, talking about Kd Kevin Durant and Steph.

Kevin Behrendt was absolutely incredible. As you know I watched it, we are lost. Kevin Durant was absolutely hearsay secretary got double team probably seven times the amount dictated in the image of series okay Kevin Durant disagree disagreed with that on twitter and Outlook. I don't know what what the. The end result is of that conversation. Seven times is probably a lot. I thought all's. I'll just say that I think that's probably an exaggeration.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was more than Kevin Durant but I think seven times is an exaggeration. So if Kevin Durant was. If Steph Curry was double teamed 25 times Kevin Durant was only double-team what three times.

Four. Make between three and four times. I don't find that to be logical, but the podcast did go on to talk about what Curry has meant to the warriors and it speaks of what we've been talking about for a few days, which is why we have to do the silly and rank Durrant versus Steph and simply say what were finding out is that, especially with the lack of team success for Durrant since leaving Golden State and there are circumstances around that that may be the warriors really have been about staff, along with Clay and Raymonde as the poor and that what Durrant was was an embarrassment of riches. They wanted title with Harrison Barnes had they decided to keep Harrison Barnes, they probably would've one titles with that core, but they saw the opportunity to upgrade Harrison Barnes into Kevin Durant and who among us if you can afford that Wyndham got it so that's to be where the conversation probably needed to go, but we do silly things like ranking Steph Curry and dream and Kevin Durrant whatever. But when we come back, men's national team plays tonight in Ohio, Cincinnati or Columbus Nottinghamshire and will talk to Brian Strauss, Sports Illustrated, he's on site. It's a big it's sort of a fact-finding mission for Greg Burkhalter will talk to Brian Strauss about next studio in my man code speed through it with the capital financial advisory group were talking retirement coach. I'm a simple guy but I like colors. Tell me how I can colorcode money and get ready for retirement.

I like colors to lectures. I like graphs I don't like just buzzwords what we try to do is we try to break down all those words on your statement. All those numbers into three colors red, green, yellow people amazingly come in and most of the money is in the red getting Hannah Montana.

Red means high horsepower, potential delegates hi loss potential.

You have to do. It's a give-and-take you can want to do that or that yellow means liquid money to get anytime stuck on anything green. If you safe growth but also dig a lifetime income as we get closer to retirement. We need some green accounts with greens only: Baghdad result was important regional support for you to next and people out of the thousand dollar value: ticket put together for you your very own total planned as a green so it's a traffic light. I hope it's green for you 800-661-7383 or text Adam to 21000 per code speed through the United States is qualified for the World Cup.

That's a big deal.

Now all we have to do is wait lotto six months to actually play it in cutter bride's dress. Sports Illustrated covers the men's national team covers the sport of soccer. We had a lot of stuff to discuss. He joins us from Columbus as the US Goodison set the play Morocco in a friendly tonight 7 o'clock I believe on ESPN2. What a long way. There are that many of these matches left. There's Greg Greg Burkhalter is what like for in this window, and then two more in Europe in September and that's it. To get ready for this on it. It's a long time, but the short time rated six months or so, but like you said it is six-game text, the word Cincinnati is my fault.

One of three well, you know, I've got three cities mail start see I get this to happen and there you have a similar name in there now goes on that you know. The Columbus is traditional national sort of a homebase so anyway.

But Like I came to the right place them in Cincinnati but it it it's not is it the deceptive amount of time and deceptive credit calendar because yeah you got these four games over the next two weeks, finished two more in September and the Mets. It it's not like the whole team together for the four games right, you got a lot of guys were out guys were injured were resting guys were missing for different reasons. So, so you're knocking out that this is not like a dress rehearsal for the World Cup team because we still know to be right and work with such a long way away were missing. As you said Sergio just is not there. Geo rain is not there, Miles Robinson, not there, and I think anybody that has studied and watched the qualifying process. You have to believe that those three guys if there if they're not part of the you know the first choice the group know a guy like rain is a you certainly in the and in the mix to be of a starter destined. Miles Robinson seemed to be locked so the Robinson would be a lot except the Achilles injury valiantly out that he suffered so there are some things that were going to have to tease through here. So what can we learn about the men's national team based on what happens tonight in Ohio and then in Kansas City on Sunday against Uruguay. I think there was some hope that a striker number nine finisher someone might get into a groove and find a stake a claim to that spot. But that position like any sort of you know finishing position same is true in hockey like you know your point can come and go to guy you know hit a vein formed out of either November.

But Jesus for Eric messy. Dallas is going to get dark tonight shot on.

Otherwise, I think you're looking at some of the some of the guys who are benefiting from some of those absences and have gotten a call, you know that there is precedent in American soccer history for this you know five or six month optimal World Cup someone just kinda coming from nowhere and really establishing himself in making the you know so you got, you know, Malik Tillman just filed a switch from Germany to Byron unit player and right fielder Heidi right with a striker who was bouncing around Europe and finally wound up in Turkey and started scoring goals a couple center back, Carter Vickers and and I Eric, Brown have a chance maybe to fill in for that spot vacated by Robinson. So I think there's some intrigue around around players like that in them is a lot of these other guys holistic and McKenney and Ann Aronson, who there on the team.

You know, Tim way you are on the team and you just kinda hope that they know they get together they gel they enjoy their time. They play couple games mimic rest over the summer. I will talk about was the beginning the second I think Greg Burkhalter said that the coach that he would get McKenney in about 20 minutes and that by the end of this window. He hopes that McKenney will be able to go the full 90 that's perfect pretty quick to go from 20 to 90 in three weeks but will see Brian how much energy when we tell you how much energy that I had for the last two days here in Cincinnati we were doing economies roundtables with all the players every player available right hockey comes in 1520, 25 minutes all the journalists better ear asking questions like this is our chance to talk to these guys before they dispersed for the summer before we go to Qatar. McKenney was so in that he was like bouncing around the room pretending to be a reporter sitting in other guys roundtables and asking questions and and he did it to three or four different people like you couldn't, you can't contain the energy coming from this map and and so he's read like he's confused.

He's just he's a heated effervescence get out like shadow which is pretty funny, walking him kinda do is stick see their best player was, I think we got hurt what we have been asked in question right and he was the most effective for this team. I would put it that way before he broke his foot. He is such a force he is such a two way offense and defensive you know you know Kiki gets involved. He tackles he harasses wins the ball he penetrates EGP he he knows how to pop up in the penalty area and get a shot on goal scored against Mexico deadly onset pieces. He can just do more things than anyone else on the team when he's plugged in. He can be the most impactful player Brian Strauss, a Sports Illustrated man will take on Morocco tonight in a friendly men's national team China just kinda stayed together until we get to the toward the end of November in cutter Christian ballistic wintertime where he wasn't really part of the mix of Chelsea but at the end of the season. He was and he was effective. How much do we carryover what he did. Toward the end of the season at Chelsea and what he might be to the men's national team guy to read but I'm getting right after sort of a budget Qualifying process. He seemed to be in a good mood yesterday. First of all when when PT spent time answering our dumb questions he loves being on the national team like like like like you, which you did it lead. This is his favorite thing to do what feels like an and he he loves being around this group is energized by it. Kiki get confidence from it and and I really think that he is getting better about turning the page 20 comes into this into the setting and environment where he supported where he's appreciated where he's, you know that it ate all that everyone has had faith in him and and I and I think that you know he's not thrilled with the situation at Chelsea. Everyone knows it would not commit his future to Chuck yesterday when he was asked about it.

Although we did say he met some of the new owners and and sort of enjoyed interacting with them in and you had had a good impression but but II think there's something about this group in this environment. We need tables for some of that frustration aside and flirt comments. I don't think it's going to be. I don't think that to be an issue but it has been a very long emotional texting sees the pond of ups and downs winning the club World Cup to getting benched back and forth in, and I think he probably does need a break so I think that'll be enough heat heat.

He's probably mentally and physically somewhat tired, but I don't think is confidence or window I could ask you a thousand questions really just about Christian ballistic but we don't have time for all of that.

There's so many other things I want to get to one of time for most of those but I am curious about this Brian Strauss Windows asked F and had some some personal issues so he is not with this group and Matt Turner was named the starter for tonight.

I believe Turner is right now playing with the New England Revolution but is going to go to Arsenal to back up Aaron Ragsdale. Right now the United States doesn't have a keeper who was a starter where it like in their top four or five the only one is the 18-year-olds played for the Chicago fire and I don't know but he's going to get ahead of all these other guys. What do they do if they don't have a keeper who is getting regular time making you completely bizarre waiting, and you can't fault any of the individuals for the career choices they make you you can't make a career decision based on a one-month tournament that happens every four years right Turner has to make this movie has to take this chance obviously just simply the training that Arsenal will will will be at at a level of experience before which help with making better but you do need games writers of that that there's a diminishing return rate at deck step in doing it for three years, yet may have eroded so yeah that there's no answer to that there there big I desperately hope one of these guys emerges and and find some time and find some form by November and all have to kinda wait and see how that unfolds. It's good to be a challenge for Greg for altering the staff to work to finish. I've been given for not right like for for for decades like goalie was the one spot where the US like a good and have now it's mouth a bit different and like the other thing is that Ethan Horvath and Nottingham Forest just got promoted and he's not the first choice keeper then started right right so like, but my fear is that because England is in the same group that these these teams are going to keep our guys down on Bob, obviously back you have made had I hadn't thought about that but whatever little danger to secondary CONCACAF fighting with me that would be I would be top tier gamesmanship Brian Strauss you the best SI.com you are not are we doing are we doing post post house guarding against country. I doubt I'll let you know in a couple weeks here the same with you and I can commiserate as as our teams didn't get well I guess the capitals went about as far as maybe you expected because you want that serious dude remotely. Yeah, I mean it was it was there for the taking. But that's you know 2018 will be outlier right so so where were we reverted to form and you know I appreciate them. Perhaps freeing me from the distraction during during a busy national team. Somerset will look at it that will talk again very soon rise does appreciate yeah Martina. Believe it or not I have one more thing for Brian Strauss will get to it in the wall of sound in a little bit when we come back. Eric Compton playing in the Rex Hospital open up the Waitsfield country club in North Raleigh has a very interesting story and that he is a two-time heart transplant recipient talk to about that played at the at the Korn ferry tour. Whatever else comes up with Eric Compton next June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak of figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen with the ferry tour of the CPC Wakefield I think it's actually Wakefield country club now Korn ferry tour in the Rex Hospital open will start on Thursday.

Personal welcome back to the area.

I know you been there before he finished in the longest sort of this area yeah yeah tied for second at the U.S. Open back in 2014 when Martin Martin timer left the field so I guess the state of North Carolina has some positive vibes for you.

You actually know what it is a reminder when I think of the fiber borrowing from Raleigh, but which which really is so the Mexican client here in a few hours to practice a little bit and have a Pro-Am day tomorrow so looking forward to the golf course so nice so attracted and people there yet. Look I I'm not saying that I want you to be in the field again next year because we like it all to work out well you do you get back in the PGA Tour, but it supposed to move to Raleigh country club next year, which wouldn't be a bad spot to just play casual around the golf as its we always joke. It's an old Donald Ross designed as though there are any new Donald Ross designed Eric Compton here, yet very interesting story. I want to spend a couple of minutes on for those people who don't know, before we get the actual golfer two-time heart transplant recipient. So let me just ask as your health right now and how are things going really good right now. I'm quite a bit out of my transplant and doing healthy and a lot of time now with my daughter 13 so we played a lot of golf after school and she's getting ready to finish her exams this week so hopefully she'll be on the road traveling a little to summer, but my health is good. On the night same road routine. Take medication in the morning and night putting a lot of rest so they can be counted with the schedule with a lot of light rental car held double but long time so I'm used to it by now. Hopefully I Eric Thompson is with us here in the gold shell yet about four year run.

We are on PGA Tour if it is in the top hundred a few times in the FedEx cup and see capture card. What was different then as it is supposed to.

Now I see you still it out there to get it out there about 300, on average, so there's obviously there's there's enough disk so although bit that might not be very far these days. I don't know what side we like for you Eric. I got all the time and a lot of difficult you.

I got my car when I was around 30 played a much appreciate prior to things after my second transplant was born and I knew the newly married things were exciting, but as everybody knows the family traveling on the road and then with my medical condition took a toll on the and unfortunate end up getting divorced and in dealing with not feeling that great on the road. It took a big toll on me. After the U.S. Open was it was a lot lot going on off the golf course and as you can see with a lot of top players, 26, 27, 28 as they get married and have kids, it becomes a lot more challenging, because not the number one priority and it took some time to juggle daughter and she is my number one priority and I ended up getting remarried and I have beautiful stepdaughter cheat on her way to college so I learned a lot lot about myself and a professional career off of the golf course and in dealing with my medical stuff so there was a lot of stuff going on and then the last couple years. I feel like I really played just as good as I did when I was on the tour is just the players and everybody are better words is so underrated you look at Iraqi years ago in the lock plate you have a lot of experience what you think I need to do to planet your absolutely nothing with an 18 month if you find it work based on Tiger Phil you found all the best players in the world.

I said I think you be in the top of the world become a look at the show, and now you one of the world. I saw him yesterday three days ago only play colonial right answer locked up on the range and yet look at it. I like all the one player in the world do like almost in aloofness there getting bombarded I think my mind. Players are so good now and got to get the in that playoff system or get a win on the court. Get back in the PGA Tour.

I just I just think that there are so many great players all let you go now I don't want to run a time before asking you this Eric Compton is with us.

Korn ferry tour's Rex Hospital open Thursday through Sunday at Waitsfield country club up in North Raleigh.

I'm just curious your thoughts as I don't think this is an insult because as a professional golf your mom the greatest on the planet and doing what you do but sort of a rank-and-file golfer.

What are your thoughts on the lives series and what it setting out to do and I think that in the broad scheme of things. I think the more you get planning opportunity. The people around the world. There is growth again.

I think that's a very touchy subject because everybody want to look at it from dissect different parts of the world help the ethics of things are but you look at work in general become your giving opportunities for players to play and make a living. A good thing. I think, but they come to the challenges and I'm not one know all the answers. I do know that the PGA Tour job on the PGA Tour and I think that having played on the corn. Were equally PGA Tour that anything, it only after the opportunity for competition for better or better opportunity for younger players coming out and I think that there has been a little bit of staleness to the feeder tour the PGA Tour. If you compare the growth of what PGA Tour is today as it was 20 years ago so that have to change a little bit. I think that there's there's there's growth in every direction for all all that all of the tours will see what happens. And unfortunately, it can make got guys going different directions but I think in whole or better for the game.

Eric Compton.

I wish you all the best. I hope you do really well here in Raleigh coming up this week and hope to see out of the big tour. Very soon appreciate your time. Best to you and hope you have a good summer with your daughter you got school to catch up there top.

The real real quickly recorded that yesterday, otherwise I would've asked for his reaction to Dustin Johnson hundred $25 million contract that is stunning. Still waiting for details on that tomorrow the program Rex Hoggard of golf Channel will have more for us about this. I again I know that maybe you don't think it's a big deal. It's a big deal if you watch professional golf. This is a big big deal. Remember, there is no salary For the lives series. This will be common and as Averill points out on twitter. Now we know why her gas is five bucks if they were only related. This is the Adam gold shell June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak.

Figuring it out on the fly became fifth anniversary of the Carolina listen
