This is the Adam gold shell thinking let things happen the opposite direction without stumbling back and not straight line. T this is Adam gold shell to the changes you make Caddy shack references to a freshly graduated college student, and you know that their eyes glaze over right you know like she might've never heard that was Abby Lampley from yesterday. She might've never heard of the movie Caddy shack. Maybe there's a better chance than not that she has never heard of the movie Caddy shack. Yes, owner is probably not right. 22 years old, no chance she might she like a by reference the movie animal house. Forget it is rolling right notes. Note no chance like very little chance even though all all college-age students should have watched animal house once what it's probably still a common thing in dorm rooms. The John Belushi just college posterior shirt is already that's is probably still it doesn't mean that they know is that anybody knows what the movie is the movies 45 years old whenever Abby came out animal has had to come out in the 80s right, the late 70s early 80s probably early 80s rental house and Caddy shack about the same time, 78, 78 yeah about the same time, 77 so mean yeah well before these people were born. I got back okay now is the time were that that iteration of SNL stars was just pumping out great movies unlike what we have from nevermind amok and editorialized got a lot of things to do today is not breaking news but there's there's fresh news with livable good to get to that is nothing worth even bring up other than Bryson to Shambala's confirm that he's going as well. Not this week but the next event which is later in the summer next month but will get to that in due time today, but we got a lot of football stuff to get to and the firing of the Angels and former rays manager Joe Madden will get us going today will talk to her friend Julian canceled the bottom of the hour locked on Panthers podcast minicamp started today and it appears that the offense is way out of the defense want usually is the opposite. What what what what what yeah will talk to Julian about that. Let's get going.

I was listening to Dennis put together clips today and I'm not sure. Did you use this in the open, the great philosopher Basha right said the affluent with no holes is not affluent, not affluent, and a doughnut with no holes Danish witches. I mean words to live by the great philosopher Ray Davies one saying it's a mixed up model. The shook up world, will, yes, that was about his Lola cam Newton in a completely different realm opened up on the pivot podcast which is hosted by, among others, ESPN's Ryan Clark and talked about things that have gotten his way, first with New England and then with Carolina here is what Kam had to say about what happened with the patriots.

I was still learning office, seven, eight weeks into the season. What regards was it messed up.

Okay there.

I'm learning systems mentally right as a quarterback is not just pain kit just came in disguise that we are been around things were ready. As a quarterback you have to look the part.

Act the part and be the part right, so there was countless hours which is fish was countless hours with Joshua Davis was countless hours with some different people trying to teach me certain things and it was just Brian overload. So it was time the board to the line and I'm still thinking about the notification of the play.

I'm thinking about forgetting my motions.

I'm thinking about my side just thinking about certain things so that the situated. I know it.

Yes, to the degree that I needed to know in order to show the world that I'm still 10. No, I put myself in a situation what enunciation is, but that's what will move on. What happened in Carolina not Carolina. I put myself in another situation, I will sign on Thursday I played on Sunday at what point did you you will be successful. That next week I started this still your still trying to learn this is not a receiver. This is not a safety. This is not a left tackle a quarterback so before supper and allow the narrative to be made.

I can make out in the war camp is taking full responsibility is saying they can't put himself in a situation which then had a ricochet to fake the people thinking how you think, which I respect because we are entitled to our opinions on the seller have agreement nor do should you or anybody else watches assess the group what I'm saying S of the situation, thinking that Campral book. Couple things. First of all, you go back to Kam's year with the patriots and how many people remember game to which was I believe at Seattle and the patriots were right there to win the game. If cam can run it over from like the 2 yard line in the final final series, the patriots upset Seattle in Seattle.

I believe when I was just an incredible game cam Newton looked like the old cam Newton that game was swinging around, you look great then cove it hit and cam never really recovered from that he was not the same player after he had a bout with covert, I think you missed two games is right on this one right. But he was not the same player when he came back and what ultimately happened was the patriots became just a very much a run heavy team using can mourn the run game than they were really in the passing game and that's just what they evolved into you go back and you look at what happened in game two.

That game against the page against the Seahawks.

It was also well this is the cam that we saw.

I'm not saying that there weren't there was a steep learning curve in terms of learning the offense, but would like cam was just like showed up on opening day like this is in a way, in the same thing happened with that with the Panthers. Yet there was was that the bigger was, not knowing the offense.

Dennis you think the bigger issue. And Carolyn know what you think the biggest issue was with Carolina coaching. While yes but here's my my point and I talked about this during the season, you know, it became what became obvious all watching cam no longer had the arm strength to carry anything out this physical yeah he couldn't do it now.

Every once in a while it looked right. The ball came out of his hand looking right with some zip on but that was not repeatable over any length of time he.he is a max effort for our now nothing looks comfortable. Everything is forced PS to gear up to get the ball out to the sideline can't get the ball deep down the field anymore like I want cam to be a thing. He's not a thing anymore it's it's it in a way it sat because before the injuries and what were talking about the shoulder injuries to cam were talking about the shoulder injury that took him out. Was it in 16 was that yeah 16 right is 2018 people. Well, that was the second one the first one that took him out at the end of 16, I believe, and he missed the beginning of the training camp in 17 right wasn't the same but in 2018. They started the season and he looked like the old cam where I made the ball look great coming out of his hand. They were six into going to that Thursday night in Pittsburgh and they looked when he looked like an MVP type candidate and then they got lit up that Thursday night by the Steelers. He got hurt again. Not we just can't throw.

I don't think it's about recognizing a defense. I respect the hell out of cam Newton what he did in his career. What he saying there. I think were making excuses know if I mean, sorry I think were making excuses.

He I just think physically, he can't throw anymore will see mean inhaling anybody's brought men right I do that I think it's over.

Maybe somebody will kick the tires on them and bring in the training camp. I just don't think he can throw and if you can't throw it's really hard to be a quarterback in the NFL will hear from my man Coach Pete through the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement.

I coach simple. When we start tax planning and retirement should start as soon as possible because here's one thing out of Texas are not going away and so the game here is we know the rules. A lot of people want to ignore the rules or act like they don't offer me with them but I rest those rules and so we get retirement. The region start taking some of your money out of your accounts so the secret here is to put a force field around as much as possible.

By strategically moving some Romani to Roth IRA were some of the other vehicles that are taxed like a special life insurance policies can borrow against your money there and never have to pay tax on you wanted to build up inside your Space up there a lot of strategies here. The one strategy that does not work is ignoring mature and not ignored the next 10 people will do for you your very own tax and retirement plan to help you minimize taxation with retirement 800-661-7383.

All you got is call or you can text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete the road, moving, moving to another football thing.

Let's get this one quickly before Elia Johnson joins us to talk about his former manager according to a report by Jenny rent us in the New York Times over a 17 month span DeShawn Watson booked massage sessions with 66 different therapist fall of 19 through spring of 21. This whole thing hit in the spring of 21 yeah right that's one per week. If you're keeping track of such matters and there were based on everything we've read. There are some therapist that he contacted more than one so 66 different were probably talking about something closer to two per week, but regardless get lost in the weeds on this, you know, it really needs think about this 22 women on the civil suit right now right 22 different women on the civil suit on this massive symbol civil suit to others have come forward in the last week or so and filed their own lawsuit against Against start, whoops, sorry about that I guess to show what my fault so that means there are no use at least because who knows, 42, more potential cases. If Jenny rent.

This reporting is accurate and she is a star reporter at least 42 more. Maybe this is why the NFL is kind of stuck in molasses when it comes to announcing whatever discipline they are planning for DeShawn Watson. Here's Courtney Cronin who's a host on ESPN radio and also covers the Bears. Here's what her thoughts are regarding the Browns and wants all the stuff now, don't you think the Cleveland Browns are probably looking back on something that we wish we would've actually done the real due diligence and talk to some of the women that were filing a civil lawsuit against DeShawn Watson before giving him the contract is here's the thing they can get out of this if they want to they really cut. I think it would take a lot more than this. Sadly for the for the Cleveland Browns to pull the plug on the DeShawn Watson experiment before it even get started but there two more lawsuits that have been filed like what more is it going to take. I have a question.

The Browns made this trade with the Texans and they guaranteed DeShawn Watson $230 million knowing that there were 22 women who filed a civil lawsuit.

Knowing this, so even if they did zero other background checking information seeking on this.

They didn't know investigation, they simply read the news much worse, really, is 66 and 22.

Seriously, how much worse is that, like 22. Are you serious like no offense to Courtney Cronin but 22 should have been a deterrent. Yeah right. 66. Not a deterrent if 22 and the third 660,000 it's not a deterrent if 22 is in a deterrent. The Cleveland Browns made a determination that DeShawn Watson as a quarterback was so good that they did not care as long as he wasn't going to jail that he's going to be there quarterback. So much so that they gave him the dumbest excuse me greatest contract in the history of cornerbacks near he doesn't deserve that as a player, they had to do this to get in because he didn't want to go there and they openly admitted acknowledge the fact that you know what the leaks probably gonna suspend yes so rolling a Pam a million bucks this year. I think they said the lose money exactly they acknowledge the fact that you know what we we we see it doesn't matter. Whatever right it's it's professional sports. I think we are learning Morse every single day that professional sports is about one thing and one thing only and that is winning morality. Morality, nobody gives a damn about morality as my team doing that's all they care about. Bottom line, right right where we see in this in golf. We know about in the NFL. We see in all sports. Nobody gives a damn. Can we win, that's all they care about. I might even say that that's wrong about professional sports cannot. I am not criticizing it. But Courtney Cronin if 22 didn't give the Browns pause 60 68 either and that is the simplest way to put June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became split or look at the 25th anniversary of the moon, presented by the Company of North Carolina. Listen now find so Joe was fired yesterday by the Los Angeles Angels two days ago I was in yesterday. Two days ago.

Whatever was as manager of the Los Angeles Angels and I thought I know somebody that played for Joe Madden spent some time with the Tampa Bay rays and then it is only season with the Kansas City Royals.

Elia Johnson went 10 for 27 with five RBIs seven runs scored two homers a double or 222 stolen bases against the race so Elia Johnson you just try to get back at your old skipper with all don't let you know all your life.

Want to know, one of let them know that you appreciate and let you know that you have gone by the know my dad was there and he was on Father's Day of opening for the team. They brought me down in PP against the really great. Got really good memories about that entire trip like I know I don't want to overstate this but you had 29 hits with the Royals.

10 of them came against the raise both of your home runs that season for five extra basics, you will really miss you Joe all now that I knew how to me. I mean it was a Mad way I want to grab a large market share of the Diablo know you not not enjoy my time with Joe or the Ray and I just didn't appreciate the way the prophets treated me inaccurate my job and I'm assuming Joe had very little to do with that. But I am curious your thoughts seems to me that they were waiting for the time to do this.

Whether or not it was what happened with Madden leaking out the news about what they wanted to do as an organization with Mike Trout before the season which ultimately they have decided not to do think they have made the playoffs under Joe Madden and this 12 game losing streak out of they lost last night or not but this is long stretch that thereon is sort of almost killed any opportunity for them where your thoughts on what what the Angels of Don and Madden as a manager, manager power struggle that you say it with all those different things that are going on with. Ultimately, they do have bad ownership or you know all now, but ultimately are going up the Dragon stop meddling so much openly. What what you counted on yesterday so you know every time that Marino metal things don't go particularly well. I'll give you credit for show him your core, but you losing underneath Joe Madden the playoffs long before the to assume that Joe was somehow the problem not the root of the problem is more so run off the and the fact that they cannot get any pitching in that organization of the best player of our generation, and there is wasting his prime years, every single year by never getting enough supporting cast or the pitching side ball to be able to get him into the playoffs and at least find a way to even get a wildcard. They can even do that. I'm so is a lot more top to bottom that it is bottom up is any question they have spent bad money and they have tried to act in many ways. I'm not even saying like the Mets because the Mets have acted in a cheap way before Steve Cohen got there the will ponds were were trying to do think they were trying to replenish their own financial situation. As a result of the Bernie made off fallout as opposed to putting the money back into the team and letting that that revenue grow, which would've benefited them in the long run, but they were looking at a more selfish way. I think they have the Angels have just not figured out how to spend good money and they are not that they just have not did not take advantage of Mike Trout and I know Trout is gotten a bunch of flack from major league baseball for not being marketable like make the dam playoffs. That's that's that's all we know your market will by the way they did lose the Red Sox again last night so I guess it's 13 in a row now for the Angels. What was good about plan. By the way real quick about Madden.

He's part of the success story of Shelley Otani because baseball circles wouldn't have allowed this to happen would not allow two-way player Madden made it possible what what was it about Madden that he sort of a progressive God created you open-minded. I think he's going to listen complaint read article in the Atlantic was talking about how really over exaggerated the analytic with the analytic.

I just don't understand it from time to let them be the best athlete, they can be and not cram their brain with too many things that take away from biting reminded okay yeah no more where the rubber hit the road on how to actually put in the play were a lot of time analytic. I just don't understand why it doesn't matter how much information you can pump and do better with less information than more, you have to be able to understand all that but very going back to that very savvy on your part understand of the will ponds were trying to recoup their losses from the made off with the baseball team and instead of running it in a fashion where they were trying to win their running it in a fashion to eat I get productive from a business standpoint monetarily and revenue wise, rather than a winning organization. Yeah, look, I spent way too much time thinking about the fact I like the Mets and the clubs and I I am. You know me I am not a I'm not a proponent of any sort of salary And I think the luxury tax is as prohibitive as I would ever allow in the league that I supported, but there's really no reason why team with the resources of the Mets were the cubs who are obviously in embarrassment or the Angels or teams with, especially local television deals and when you own a network like the Mets and SN Y which does very well. There's just no excuse for not being at least good. The angle of the smart thing that they could probably do and roast in part, regardless is to move Trout County school has a really productive here. Replenish your farm and get guys in there that can actually help you win in the future when with them so I mean what I was at this point. I understand that you need and don't think it, but if you're trying to win the movement and get your king's ransom for him in return. But I know there's not enough I know they considered it but I don't know there's not enough to realize that that really is there only move at this point because they cannot, will not. They don't have the ability to put anything around him look like it's coming in any short-term debt that is that the double-edged sword for an organization like the Angels.

There is not enough coming up through the system to supplement and wind around him. So what you do, do you just lose with arguably the best player in the game on your team or do you try to get better and ultimately have to move him every team has been faced with that situation. The Mets in a way back in the day were faced with this with Tom Seaver which might not have been the best thing they ever did and they didn't really replenish anything. As it turns out, but that's another story altogether.

Elliott Johnson.

Watch your Royals versus raise highlights. I have plenty out of it. I promise I will talk to you very soon.

Thank you. Like seriously his time with the Royals which was a he was traded to the Braves and I think it was after the first trade deadline, but his time at the Rose was not all that great like 29 hits and 73 games came in six games against Tampa is just awesome. This is the gold shell June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen
