Financial capital financial. This is the gold shell we meant to do this. Yes, images really ran out of time in order to devote a whole segment to, and I mentioned about the return of the Caribbean. Smith insisted how big a deal was.

But we have a completely different roster at Duke and a lot of the same in North Carolina, but we just don't know how the chemistry is going to be and they did have to replace Brady manic, so I know we have a bunch of link to the coaches met the media this week Hubert Davis and Kevin Keats both. So let's hear from both of these gentlemen in the wall of sound.

The wall of sound is a function of this. There's no doubt start here before you get into the roster last year would end of the season. I know North Carolina started the season ranked played it was rank at the beginning, played poorly, fell completely out of the top 25 and for a little bit of the season had fallen out the at-large pool for a lot of people and then got hot one. A bunch of games and it stopped being a hot streak and it started becoming all my gosh, they're just really good yeah and Brady manic. I actually think Brady Medical Center.

The reason for that. All all respect to Armando Baker.and Caleb love and RJ Davis in the switch of love and Davis Davis to point loads off the ball really Brady manic became the reason why this team blossom anyway.

Now this year based on a lot of things, including basically everybody coming back Hubert Davis has to deal with serious expectations not told on this year's you determining factor. The biggest key for offices is now booked both his and always announce deposit over you guys agree you guys are guys are in this way too early top 25 your wife number one, which absolutely means nothing. You know, you guys go back to the final forgot all you got. For starters, back that's no room for us to focus on what is real.

The maps are reparation our practice and how we can get better this summer possibly put us in a position where we were last year and see what happens. But I'm not taken it easy on them, harder than he should. He should.

It's funny, I remember Mark Gottfried's first year at NC State where he made the it was a lot of people took it as a joke. Stop calling him CJ Leslie inserted: Calvin was completely different person. You're not that guy you're this And they had a really good year as team and expectations change going into the following season because this team that struggled before you got there. Played well, especially at the end of the season when in your first year. Now was time to take the next step and it became apparent to me and I kept I kept saying this where's the standard if you are good as a head coach and I think we learned if you don't hold your team to a standard of preparation, practice performance, then you're never going to get the most out of an Gottfried actually admitted later. Like in the summer after that year ended when they were totally disappointing. He admitted that he allowed them to much leeway we got better tonight know they didn't and that was, in retrospect, that might've been the beginning of the end even though they had some other good years, because they had an opportunity that year, maybe not to be elite eight or final four team, but to be a player. Is that good players and it was was upsetting anyway.

I don't know if this is if this was officially not but I think the Tar Heels are at least the favorites for Pete Nance as a transfer from was at Northwestern Northwestern who's a big guy who can shoot shot 45% from three-point range.

Also, Brady manic, so yeah that's that's a pretty good think they may need. They need a little bit more shooting can't just all be Caleb love.

I do think the organist see a lot of tough times. Next, John… But Johnson came to yes we had a fun Thomas back to play football for four UNC right now due to Kevin Keats, the head coach at NC State high. I said this before as important as anything that happened to NC State getting good players of the transfer portal getting their guy, their best player and we could talk about variance. He brought all day long.

By the end of the season their best player was to cravings getting him to return was in enormous for Kevin Keats talk about Chicago is one and is positive.

But one issue is is he would've been a first-round pick. There is no question about that and me wouldn't of been a lottery back but he was going to be in the 20s. He is a dynamic scoring point guard and you could see he was getting better and better and better and now according to Kevin Keats. The expectation is that he takes another step forward in other areas, as is is is is low so we shall more of a leader is sure. Probably one of the most practice is as you say hello so you just before we break and will announce to our roundtable is going back to our old roundtable ways as when we come back we have a bit of breaking new Bob McKillop basketball coach at Davidson, one of the best basketball coaches in the United States, announced his retirement really yeah Steph Curry's coach Jesse been there for a while Bob McKillop who she was.

Davidson for a long time, but the youngest 71-year-old that you could ever know said Bob McKillop 634 wins 380 losses 625 when percentage he announced his retirement today so don't know who's taken over just recently just sought a second ago on twitter when we come back. Randy Slack from Wilmington, Jeremy Green from Asheville roundtable next golden studio with my friend Coach Pete through the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement hotels longevity risk figure into our retirement and income plan. This is the best of times and the worst of times and longevity risk live too long, but to me everyday lives not too long we want to money to outlive us and unfortunately many people have seen you out there listening.

Maybe one of them. Your money is not designed to outlive you. You might outlive your money and that's not what we want to have happen as we get to that day after you run out of money not to be a fun time with design a plan that guarantees will never run out of money. We call it the GPI plant growth protection lifetime income for the next 10 people is the golden ticket out of the snow that even at no cost or obligation, and all you have to do is call we make it so easy.

Would you like financial independence into your retirement and beyond it. 800-661-7383 that golden ticket is $1000 value or you could text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete to root June 19, 2000 May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became 1/5 anniversary of the Carolina listen my three years four Bob McKillop at Davidson 33 years incredible, but I know Coach K was a Duke forever, but 33 years is just incredible stuff. 15 regular-season titles. Some of that was Southern conference also believed there was at least one one or two Atlantic 10 titles and elite eight run. That was the Steph Curry year 2000 81/600 games tremendous career steps down. I don't believe they've announced a successor at this point, but it just happened earlier today, we have not done a full on old school roundtable in a while because we basically been using that time for the league pass layer to talk NBA playoffs bore out of the playoffs.

Now, so let's get back to the roundtable, Dennis left little bit longer 96 in Raleigh to gentlemen that might be experts on Keats Randy Slack ESPN Wilmington is I think a gas station somewhere doing a remote today indicate what a foolish idea that was and Jeremy Green from the sports Argosy on ESPN Asheville lose weight on a track guy what's going on you want this it's it's can be bought to know about what the temperatures like in Asheville today is probably not that bad. It's hot as hell here it's roughly 90 here is currently 87 in my living room, and I can't believe that I would because they are your mice egos out. I would, but I will never have to go into another sauna and I don't want to after the man I just hope your hope you have enough hot water for shower later or maybe it'll be a cold shower. Jeremy, are you all right, Randy, are you outside like a public phone. Where are you I am currently in my apartment 46. I will be in Circle K. They are sponsors all mention them and they're paying me to be there so I might Jeremy I will be sweating in the 97° E, but I did get a paycheck which is nice so my thoughts are with Jeremy over there in Asheville in the mountains. Let's even though I we we had NBA title decided last night. I haven't had a chance to talk about yet so want to start with the with Carolina Panthers minicamps over summer start with you.

Randy explained to me as maybe only you can why the panthers are still pursuing Baker Mayfield well I Baker was injured most of last year kind of light he stuck his game logs kind is something to I don't know how much the injury occurred last year with the team, but the fact that he went out and got Sean Watson when Baker got in their first playoff win and seemingly forever. He was the guy turn that around and immediately they betrayed him. The grounds get what they get is Mayfield great.

Probably not seen better than Sam Donald 100% for cheap. Why not do it I Jeremy once wrote you want to take a stand that I am not sure that he's actually better than Sam Donald. Some of that.

Look, Jess, Lancelot is practically every snap.

I'm not convinced that much better, but more successful if you look at this Carolina team between running game improved, often sublime that the defense which I think is going to be really good. The only thing I can figure is they think that biker can be more game manager turned the ball over last I told you to give up for them unless they do what I'll find any traits. I am straight up for biker only way this makes any sense to you I can. I don't see looking clean and willing to do that you have to throw something else in the claimant were willing to do that. That would make more sense.

Here's my my take on this. I agree in part with Randy that Baker is better than Sam, I just don't know how much better and here's what I do know it's pretty obvious that Baker is not that guy like best were talking about a quarterback that might be the 23rd best quarterback in the NFL. Like take take me where I want to go so I'd I just don't understand the point is my is I guess is my is my position on this Mike what I just wrote what you have done unless Cleveland is to sweeten the deal, which I don't believe they are is wrong with what you have and then if I end but we also just you got your guy in Matt corral number one quarterback on your board like doing what patients my crazy crazy everything the drastic quarterback says I got them one quarterback on the board. That is what we got for fine and that is that is very true. Again, I'd I just I do something Baker Mayfield is better than Sam, I don't think he's that great aunt Randy I'm I'm sure you're aware, the Golden State Warriors wrap it up last night with a win in Boston just your thoughts on what we just witnessed in terms of the warriors will get the Steph the player in a minute but just what we witnessed with the warriors in terms of their place in this dynasty history that we got. I'll tell you what we saw. We saw an anomaly. Every sport in the last 10, 15, 20 years or so when you have veteran stars and start getting hurt when start getting worse you sell everybody off to rebuild. They didn't rebuild. They waited on their guys to come back they came back they were rewarded for it.

I don't know if this is going to be something that happens in the future but if you think about a team like the 2012 Oklahoma City thunder, who had west broken heart rant and blow that team up what happens if they just keep everybody together for the Golden State Warriors and the finals five in the last seven years and one for that's pretty good yeah it's it's six final strips in eight years for titles in that eight year span, but with a Oklahoma City team. They willingly traded James Harden a year before they had to because they felt like they could at least get something back and the mistake was, not trying to win with that group. Not trying to put a title on the board first and then worry about it rather than just kind of extending it out and we all saw what happened.

What you will you sum up the warriors.

Jeremy heard this talk of is this a dynasty. It absolutely is six finals in eight years. The two years you missed it.

Yeah, you only 154 games in those two years combined. But you are destroyed by injuries and the scary thing with Golden State. They have James Wiseman who was a number two overall pick his brain completely irrelevant. Still have Jonathan come in Inge and Moses lottery pick last year. I don't think it's over. That's the part I don't hear people talk about the yes you done six and eight. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if you did 11 and three or four years from now you it is very obvious that this was a dynasty and I can argue one of the better in the last 30 or 40 years yeah I think goes minutes right there with the Spurs for an extended period of time to think about the Spurs is they kind of shape of their team sort of change in me was always about Duncan and to a lesser extent Ginobili and Tony and Harper Harper Parker Tony Tony parked on the Opera Mini forgot about Tony Parker but the warriors really was about Steph and Clay and Raymonde.

The two years they had Kevin Durrant that was a cheat code that was just like you are you are the best videogame player and you know it was it was like Harry Potter on a Nimbus 2000 okay crickets did you guys I know I will like the state-of-the-art broom nevermind. I doubt there will get it dad that there will understand what were what were talking about is Steph Curry, Jeremy a top 10 all-time NBA player absolutely item 11. Before this year and I think that the finals in the fourth trophy that puts him up there for me. To me he's right there with Tim Duncan who had it not have a hamburger can have Oscar Robertson and guys like that. Yet he still got a few years left of the career but submeters no doubt talk to him and by the time it's all said and done, it could be… She had Duncan and Robertson. I don't even have Robertson in my top 10 Robertson Oscar disc, and honestly it's just so subjective you get whoever somebody has 16 could be eighth right out of Kobe my top 10 idiot top 10 all-time player and I mean he's the greatest shooter of the basketball history of the game, the name of the game is scoring more points of the other team. So if he's the best shooting and he's gotta be in the top 10. I don't know where my top 10 players absolutely change.

The games were the most impactful players. And yeah, he's clearly a top 10 players know he's a super real. It's unbelievable the skill set. This guy has its funny, I was talking to somebody yesterday. I think he's the best all time under 64 player in the NBA and the response was, what about Isaiah. What about you use the term Zeke Isaiah Thomas was amazing and these are all great players in Isaiah's probably know in the running for like if I had also receiving votes, he would be in that group. For me, I mean Zeke was just an incredible player and he was a two-time champion as well. They won back to back. I mean, I think. I think Curry has surpassed their just different players living. He's not a pure no up your dominant point guard, but mean he's a modern point guard because he scores so much so so much else, like he's also as good a finisher as we have at the point guard position. He just doesn't don't which makes it maybe even more surprising is tremendous and that team in general.

I kind of feel bad for not talking about dray and Raymonde and Clay, just because that team and trying to let trio together is really special. The fact this. Those guys just love each other and work together like that's something that we we never see that we saw last dance. Everybody's fighting each other. All these guys love each other to be friends forever and it's it's so cool to see that kind of just unity and three basketball players so Randy did did you find it interesting how many of those guys were trying to do this for staff. It doesn't often do you try to do it for a coach or somebody that hasn't one they were unified in doing it for Steph Curry did not surprise you. He's a likable fellow everybody like Steph Curry and it does. That's another thing you know basketball is a team game. Everybody has to work together and when your leader is beloved by everybody else on your team. Unlike I don't know of Baker Mayfield in Cleveland there something to say that some the state of his character and the character of those guys that they all love each other and they all don't want to just one outfit I'm the reason we want. I should get more money.

I should get more fame they'll want to do for staff.

They only do it for each other talk just say that you would go after Baker because he's clearly better than Sam, Donald, and then you just throw a shot at Baker for not being liked by his teammates. What you told me wire the Panthers Panthers going after different questions are that's very good I'm glad you cleared that up because it was about to rethink things. Randy right before before, let both you guys go you have any heartaches that you want to tell the masses.

While we've got Randy Slack before he goes out to sweat at a Circle K.

My heartache is that soccer becomes a bigger sport the baseball the next 10 years we get the next world cup is here. We've got a great generation of young talent were becoming like how France and Argentina and Spain were in basketball.

Nearly 2000. That's kind of what were doing and soccer here.

I think the MLS deal with Apple TV is to be paid, and I think just overall. That sport grows and while they're trying to grow in there getting a fan base baseball doesn't care about baseball and they don't want you to care about baseball heartache about baseball. I it's probably more of a hot thing about baseball than it is about soccer, so you saying that soccer is going to be like the third-biggest sport hockey 100% baseball hockey hockey Salama regional but soccer has a lot of things going for people see the international game they see our guys competing well the national game and the games are so much shorter. The clock runs the entire time.

I don't know if you paid attention anybody under the age of 30, but that's a good thing. Things continuously move I have but I may, I have become a massive football fan meeting the real football not, will we play here in the United massive football fan. I was excited when the fixtures came out for the premier league Liverpool will open up at Craven cottage against form I can't wait for that.

Jeremy, can you top Randy's heartache. The first one is I'm not a hockey fan by any stretch. I know none of the players in the Stanley Cup finals through one game have already been wildly more entertaining than anything that happened in the NBA finals.

Okay and the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles are the two greatest bats I've ever seen in the years of wow without the Baltimore Ravens of best thing to me and I filled nobody talks about in the Philadelphia Eagles are the same but nobody really cares or not there's nothing sexy about going to win the division and I don't think it's all that because I actually agree with you about the Eagles winning that division.

I don't know that anybody in that division is good but I think the Eagles are an up-and-coming team that division and I actually think that on the low daily hurts can have a really good year perfect complement to daily hurts is because he's one of the best players of the ball in his hands in the league, adding that the ability to run with what they improved on the defense I've been staring at the vaguest number on them staying right around seven have right now. I think that solid wins low, if not more. All right there.

A man after our heart we got to get you back, Michelle 145 when he plays. I bet Jeremy Green on Twitter at ESPN draft nerd sports Argosy on ESPN Asheville. You gotta get to work sir, and Randy Slack ESPN Wilmington you have to be a gas station in a few minutes or I got to go there for clock. Can't wait.

I unloaded just by you and guess and be nice gentlemen, thank you very much.

Thank you for doing this is the atom gold shell June 19, 2000 May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford is coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became fifth anniversary of the Carolina listen
