This is that the Adam goals you have financial advisory through capital financial USA.com. This is the Adam Gold show only cow maker filmmaker right recognized hope Baker award best college Calder trophy is working the other one the heart yet is going to trending. Going to use trimming the water player. What an absolute beast is you know we talked about it before and during the Stanley Cup finals, Colorado in front of the goaltenders just better and Darcy Kemper was good enough.

You didn't have to be there best player.

He just had to not screwed up. And guess what Darcy Kemper didn't screw it up not played really well. So about try to get back into complement. Colorado will likely try to retain him on a reasonable salary something in the neighborhood of between four and 5 million, but they could pay them like he's under a vessel asking that I get up I am 8 million a year because there's a lot of guys who could step in and do that, you know Thao if if Kemper prices himself out, they could go just trade for what good you have for me from the Rangers seriously if we doubled it, or they could they could trade for Freddie Anderson and integral to talk with the dog about suggesting that there could you do that, but Colorado's absolutely awesome.

They've got surprisingly fair about a Space they can bring back a lot of that team now there's good guys go to get more money because it conjures go to get more money lacking in the skin Perkowski.

Those guys are all going to get raises, but they can almost afford it for a happy new year Nathan McKinnon is probably good to make more than the 6.3 he makes now in two years.

Just getting guests second steel right now is contrasts yeah well I mean if I told you that his next contract would be 10 to half go. That's kind of a steel to yeah he is just awesome absolutely awesome so congratulations it was a fun I got is a fun Stanley Cup finals about the best team one. I also think that the best team had to earn it by going through the best champion so table was tabled was so banged up, but man they made you think possible. Just they just couldn't get enough out of the. The guys not named coach her awful lot status just couldn't get enough out of those other guys all right.

It's listeners choice. Let's listen so we ask you to determine what we should talk about here.

Things nobody cares celebrity boxing, nobody cares.

Rod Brind'Amour getting screwed out of the Hall of Fame birth. A lot of people care, just not as many as ACC scheduling changes the football and I am here for.

I applaud this, we've been talking about this for a long long time.

I suggested back in the day that the ACC completely scrap their model altogether and just let the Commissioner and a panel determine the football schedule with what ever is best for the league and television lately suggested this for basketball. When your schedule is absolutely irrelevant because as long as you if you're good to make the make the tournament. Yeah, this is all a matter of right.

And that's it that's basketball, football, you have to be a little bit more sensible about. But now we have rather than divisions and will play in division for one more year, which of course Trent just trash but starting next year.

Three permanent partners for each school and then you'll play half of the remaining 10 schools one year and then three years later, you'll play the other half of the remaining schools so you play the first five group 1st group of five, whatever that is in years one and two of the rotating schedule and then the next group of five in years three and four will just flip the home and away in those two years. Each time I would've rather kind of alternated this five next five. This five but it is not that big a deal, but I would. I would rather do that but again not a big deal.

So what were going to now deal with is who gets the easier permanent partners. So for a long time. No state would all get there only permanent partner would be Carolina Wright during the same. They were at the bit of the same division, with wake and I know that state wake of claim basically every year since the earth cooled best not to be the case anymore.

Now they will play the first two years I believe. Actually, maybe not going to go and look at it but whether it's the first two years or not it's eventually going to end, and state and wake will go two years without plate. Maybe during that time Bill schedule a nonconference game. Wake likes to do that. I think it's terrible but wake likes to do that but that's the new way of the world so states three permanent partners are Carolina Duke clips.

How about a textile bowl every year. Yeah. Very nice Carolinas.

Three permanent partners are state Duke and Virginia South's oldest rivalry. Very good wakes permanent partners are due Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. Georgia Tech sounds ranked random survey but okay fine I guess. To what extent so does Virginia Tech. But at least it's one other sort of long time ACC school Georgia Tech jointly one 1970 something, something like poison. Virginia Tech is relatively close to wake forces that the trip up 77 hit anyone in your basic proximity doesn't do it for me because proximity to me. Look for members of the same, like Boston College and Miami are in the same way actually speak to Boston College, Miami as old biggies schools. They'll play right now is sort of done that. I think BC gets Syracuse Miami and like Boston College's Miami pincer and right big deal. Biggies yeah that's good like you want you want to keep rivals together as best you can and that's the way you should do it. That's the way they should've always done it and I've been arguing for years that these contrived divisions would give us phone rivalries, then the state Syracuse rivalry goes with what while yet exact meaning the Virginia pit rivalry. No, no, I know Virginia and Louisville have been in the same division, but they I'm arrived and was a talk to about that that sexy, built up into like a kind of a grudge against little to keep them in their basketball permanent partner for which honestly.

Not only can I understand I don't understand but it's been the least watchable game in college basketball almost every year I can believe that we felt we had we had to endure two of those games goes Virginia and Louisville when Louisville was caused by Rick Patino both played maddening defensive styles and those games ended up being rock fights so awful awful basketball games to watch. But now they been indifferent divisions in football, but they been permanent borders Virginia what whatever Virginia Louisville heaven, but they will continue to be permanent. No one likes them. I mean, yeah, I think, but no one likes them for different reasons. Sure like there's enough to like about Virginia so I've been told so it just to get back to the issue. This is where the ACC should have been going eight-game conference seasons Notre Dame will still be part of the schedule. Eventually, and I do but I keep saying this because I do believe that one day it will happen. Notre Dame will be part of the league will have a 16 team and you'll have three schools in your little quadrant and then you'll rotate around to the other one other quadrant of for a minute, what additional school and will have eight-game conference schedules. I think that's were ultimately going to get.

I wish they could flip and get rid of divisions this year just to keep the schedules as they are, but get rid of divisions, but that is not going to be the case.

Golden studio with my friend Coach Pete through the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement coach house longevity risk figure into our retirement and income plan.

This is the best of times and the worst of times and longevity risk to live too long, but to me everyday lives not too long we want to money to outlive us and unfortunately many people have seen you out there listening. Maybe one of them. Your money is not designed to outlive you. You might outlive your money and that's not what we want to have happen as we get to that day after you run out of money not to be a fun time.

Let's design a plan that guarantees will never run out of money. We call it the GPI plant growth protection lifetime income for the next 10 people is a golden ticket out of the snow. They were to do it at no cost or obligation, and all you have to do is call we make it so easy. Would you like financial independence into your retirement and beyond. 800-661-7383 that golden ticket is a $1000 value or you could text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete to root their developing action network joins us here on the show. Everybody's interested in live yay or nay because there's a lot of interesting things. I was having a discussion down with a friend of mine who is not of angry is the right word and I said look at it from this person perspective. We do radio for a living. It's an interesting topic at a time were we don't have a lot of interesting things to talk about. I agree you guys are getting. Whether you say they're getting there are wire.they don't care whether getting your all read return on invested at all, but there's really getting the return on investment for mind share.

I mean they are. They are occupying so much of the space and in a way this is been the most exciting nonmajor thing to talk about in golf history and for me as a sports business guy who did ho-hum. I've covered everything I've done this for 22 years.

I'm just going to fill in the bed living at this time a year. This is what I talk. This is something that has never hit my radar a rival league that has $600 billion that the incumbent who has a 60 year history cannot compete with them right.

It never happened in the history of sports and and so this is really really intriguing and how do you evaluate, you know, like okay so Rory is going not think it's on ethical guilt, the Saudis, but you how connected easy to Nike where you know there are they going to places that don't have labor unions to make his quote right so anyway it's it's very intriguing.

Here's the thing about this and I just have not heard the only person that I have heard that is really kind of hung his hat on. You know an anti-Saudi Arabia message is Brando Chamblee Chamblee and content or to what extent evenly and she writes extensively for golf week for the most part I think Rory and people are connected with golf have talked about this from a PGA tour versus live tour sort of a sort of an angle with the notion that because of them.

The unlimited money and it is essentially bottomless money and there is an end but were just never going to get to the end. It's sort of like space so I assume that somewhere there's an end to outer space.

I just don't know where it is, others an end to Saudi money but regardless of the source or the regime. There is the money is unavoidable because as you said the PGA tour cannot compete in the Saudi's are not looking for return on investment whatever whatever ROI they want, has nothing to do with golf has only to do with their image and everything about it.

Let me ask you this event by what that would be the downfall words you know if they don't get veiny they need a couple more big players in its assume that that will happen, but if they don't get it, and golf is just you have to believe that as a high-profile athlete now, and maybe not Phil Mickelson. Towards the end of his career right gives a crap what you have to believe that if your Bryson to Sambo and you're like okay I'm winning and I now have $100 million, but there's no credibility and I'm bored and I'm not playing against the best that matter. Or the chance that I can get to be in the majors. You know at least four times a year on time competing against the best and that's enough for me.

It depends on a couple things. One, it depends on how much they do really care how much of it is money grab which is fine on not knocking it, but right now to me live is only a money grab it's that's there's no other argument for the live golf series and again I will say I'm sad that they were not interested in sports radio because why not. I say that sort of is a joke anyway so I don't I don't know that that it really matters to those guys you get your $7 million year deal. I hope more to be you.

I'm not leaving for 7 million Karen. I mean, I'm not leaving all of this just for seven measly million dollars. Their action network is joining us here on the other thing I was curious about the fallout from Phil Mickelson leaving and also it was all the comments. Obviously that is not limited KPMG workday Heineken because he does and still I guess it's the same money.

Callaway pause their relationship and Phil is out there with no signage at all. Some other guys lost a couple of endorsements. DJ lost RBC SEC spurned that event, I think, who was it done Bryson to Sambo lost rocket mortgage yields has lost any Brooks is not what Nike right so we still see DJ and Brooks on commercials and commercials. What is the fallout inch cookies are not on TV anymore. These guys are only to be on TV one more time this calendar year have to be some production written there not being seen what they agreed to not work there what they got. So God be some sort of deduction.

What about for like a guy who's not yet at the not really at the top. So let's just say Cavanagh got a sponsor got a bunch of sponsorship is walking on guys at Kelly on not knocking yet he likely will not get you know the money is not sponsorship money is all that is the guaranteed money I don't write why the PGA tour that comes out goes well over $20 million more if I went with the wind on this other tort right show up again appearance be if I were Brooks Or like she's Bryson to Sambo here.

They paid me $100 million over three years. That's probably not a good deal. I agree you can make eye make between five and 10 and Justin golf and then everything that comes after that.

So it must be per year because the Saudi's complaint yeah man, I don't know. This is the only thing I could say with in golf, like road rules quote everything that you come to learn is likely your doctor confessions really don't care about making money. It is what it is and there it's it's it's strange fascinating that cover the most fascinating stories of the entire year, regardless of where we are in the sea is not final thing for for you about this because you said that they still need a few more top guys I actually think that they have enough right now to get it to keep it going for a minimum of two.

I think longer years because they don't care is lonely. They put a credible product out and I would I've always argued that people don't really recognize like great football versus mediocre football as long as it's football. That's good and for golf fans. I mean I watch the first event watched enough of it in London outside of London.

It looked like every other European tour golf tournament I've ever watched the crowds were okay yeah it does look like the euro tour, but I think they need a couple more people, and it doesn't need to be you.

What they have now what they have now. I actually made a list of it. They got eight of the top 50 in the world and they've got an additional 12 in the top hundred, and of that number one is filled. The others Lee Westwood Ian Poulter Sergio Garcia then got a bunch of guys that people know that's enough edges. It's not. It's not great. I don't know about that. I don't know about that because the people that are that are there, you know, whether it okay Poulter, Sergio.

You can argue even though Sergio had his masters. You can argue you know there near the end of absolutely not consistent, even dictated not consistently Westwood, who the hell you know what was the last time Greg McGregor Miguel to write. I did not list Greg McDowell's most most everybody on that's where it is giving you your arrival you will but today today I feel like they need like a Xander straw for Leora Max home or Ozawa Taurus or you don't. Just one more American guy. Not somebody on the way down and I and I also think I also think all this Eugenio to Charles Evers, David.

You know like okay that's fine. Let's see a a golfer come out of the college ranks in America go straight to live. That's also another one of the sort of qualifies. I think he was in Oklahoma state so you know about an American, totally, totally understand does make a difference not being ethnocentric, but it just like Americans think of the PGA tour.

Even if someone plays in college, you know, Europeans think about the euro tour which is never been a strong here's the interesting thing is that the only guy on the roster of live tour players who really satisfies this is Taylor Gooch and not enough people know his name. That is an up-and-coming young player and of all the players that signed. That was the one that surprised me. Bryson to Sambo. You could argue his body might be deteriorating based on what he is put it through Brooks Kappa is definitely a taillight researcher Eric Taylor with Taylor is that like he's just recently gotten really really good nobodies 30 you know, like, again like you like he's any heat he looks younger than his foot. You know, again, I'm looking for the 20 with the 21-year-old who is everything in front of him and take a look tour is: I'll were to come out or is you said yes.

Xander Shaw Flay or Patrick can't lay in there been rumors about both.

By the way, but more, has definitely refuted that we talked about pouring cereal into his milk those guys when it would be a product that they did for the first time that we shot it down emphatically and clearly he has hedged at almost every time that I have heard him discuss this Darren Ravel action network.

You are a gentleman sir back to the rest of your day. I'll talk to you soon.

You got it so the tournament starts Thursday as much protest whatever like I keep trying to avoid that the geopolitical conversation about this if you started, it's just like pulling a friend.

I mean you'd you just can end up there so much dirty money throughout. Not just sports everywhere so to me I'm not saying it's an invalid argument, but I think it's an argument that there is just there are too many easy shots to take back even though I think that most of them are false equivalence, it still I mean China is a problem to write a physical. It's just not, it's not the winning argument. It's not the winning argument for that conversation and if the goal is to save this is better than this. Then make the argument about the game itself. I live is bad for the game. It's unnecessary for the game.

The competition is not competition that that was the most popular argument on Twitter over the weekend. Would players still try to win the same way yeah but I also think that forget about trying to win in and on a PGA Tour event. It matters in a there are points for world golf rankings. There are none of these, about involving live at this point, but there are like if you finish 10th that you there.

There is incentive to fight your way from 20th to 15th from 14 to 8th. There's an incentive there to do that. That really does not exist and live it just doesn't. I guess trying to win is different then trying to claw your way up the rankings for its real quick chess and at least for this program, having a really good final-round shot a 64 six under par in Connecticut last week and earned on North FedEx cup points to get from outside the to I 225 to like 160 still need to get to the 125 but he got enough points because of his top think it was a top-five finish time.

RT five.

That is now he doesn't have to do something miraculous over the next few weeks to get up in the top 125. Last year he shot a great final-round that Wyndham to get into the top 125 and keep his card for next year.

These are things that will not exist on live. They will their tournaments within tournaments that does not happen for that other series of the tour. Whatever you want to call if you watch I am not telling you not by telling you not to tell you not to support it. I'm just telling you the difference between the tip all right.

We have reached 1/2. Let's do a dentist that we that we had no time on the board before we have funds speaking you know soccer's that you will absolutely put one up. They probably would play more like 1 1/2 bytes, we did put one all right this is a letter Paul will renew no hope for celebrity up with celebrity and air quotes boxing) scene exit bits exhibition match exit lane. Yes, that's two between Adrian Peterson and Lady Bell okay yeah it's really heavy way back to because they both weigh over 205 pounds of the heavyweight matchup yet is affluent and's. I don't know. There's a TV show actually called celebrity boxing, no. There was a link actually Tonya Harding wasn't the Newbold wobbly presented at some point there was a TV show called celebrity boxing okay and I would maybe we lack of better term blame design YouTube stars of EC with you, Jake, Paul, these guys are getting in the boxing right taking on former mixed martial artists in the Nate Robinson fought one of them. I don't know that's the reason why were seeing this because there is money coming around because number, viewership, and people are paying money to see it and to sponsor it. So maybe just the money that's coming around but I don't get it.

This is whole celebrity boxing thing I don't get it when I'm with you boxing at its best and I grew up in an era where the end of Ali but it was it was more known for Leonard Hagler turns to ran more the lower weight class right I was my you know youth watching boxing at the end of Ali, the Larry Holmes era.

Tyson was a fascination who burned out too quickly once he lost to Buster Douglas. It was based. Basically over. And then we were left with George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, to an extent was more cruiserweight than heavyweight. Either way, I don't.

I can't watch like bad box just look maybe lately on Bell versus Adrian Peterson would be great. I would take Peterson in that fight.

I would think Peterson I wager on you probably cannot wager.

It is exhibitions. I don't know if you're allowed to legally bet on exhibitions in boxing Montero serves on the effects of the certified by state athletic commission. Not entirely sure how that all works out is a good point, but because not technically pro fight find out of regulator bag takes place at the end next month. I believe when the data set to leave your belly again. Liz trained in the off-season for football right doing boxing sentence of is always in part of his training.

I don't know about agent Peterson, but I'm not surprised to see Adrian Peterson's name here because sadly, Peterson needs money doesn't really.

Oh yeah, oh he's been he's got millions of dollars in debt because they gotten some bad investments in axiom of taken some bad loans out probably just importantly as that has been able to pay back please been in financial trouble even got the last 10 years is in financial trouble was a shame for seeing some that was at the peak of the sport in terms of his position. Peterson was just a start. For a long time.

Yeah, and then leave him bellies only 30 and didn't play much last year but it took a year off from yellow didn't want to sign that that franchise tax ID second franchise side with Pittsburgh and you're often been downhill. Her scent was probably a mistake to take a year off from football and basically give away what was that like 14 million older more than that everything was 17. So give give back that money.

But he was looking for a long-term deal that he and get ultimately got it from the Jets and then stunk. And that's really them. Yeah, I think I think taking a year off football around that to I really do. I think that's what ruined it by the Jets would have really been if he was the same when he got to the Jets. He was not speaking a money formula once getting a lot more of it from ESPN ESPN is extended their deal of formula 1 through 2025. Somewhere in the range of 75 and $90 million a year. It was like 25 million last time what the here $15 million. 511 three here $50 million contract to your signing like a number four defense. It's incredibly incredibly user-friendly as a kid I grew up watching open wheel racing not not NASCAR you know whether it was IndyCar, but the Grand Prix's word to me way more interesting. The cars cooler will and of course the show. What I remember of the name of the show on Netflix is trying to survive but that has just the sport is exploded since that in a fun know like the cars disintegrate. They do while so Amazon is Windows taken over Thursday night football.

The rounding form for their NFL studio teams are adding former defensive back and keep to leave for offense of lineman Andrew Wentworth and Carissa Thompson who actually host box NFL kickoff on Sundays is heavy-duty studio hosting on Thursdays as well. Studio for no other games now have a desk. I guess that a desk drawer halftime pregame post game that kind of thing but this right was Ryan Fitzpatrick going there or is it Apple.

I think it was Zap left NFL do what they do have baseball and they have my MLS so Ryan Fitzpatrick is also part of the Amazon crew in some way shape or form. I love the fact that you keep to leave as part of it until he was one of he is a very real voice of NFL football legitimately as the kids say keep it 100 is an entertaining voice to good friend so it's magic will be in the broadcast with Fram how Michael's and her curve straight. I believe it suited so it's Michael's. Ryan Fitzpatrick and his beard, and her curve.

I can only imagine what he's given to run just to how to dress up what I'm for all the fun of for my Betty told them I thinking hope he doesn't. But I hope he rants it up even more broadcast peacock is actually going to be doing something a little bit different for their upcoming broadcast that they have on Sunday between the Tigers and Detroit in Detroit taken on the kid city royals learn to be in Detroit as opposed to having an actual traditional booth there actually going to have, more like the back of it from the sideline reporters and some other people actually going around the stadium giving you different camera views different audio sound actually talking to different guests. Even Detroit's super fans and things along those lines. During the broadcast.

We can still see the game but that's what the commenter is going to be as opposed to a traditional play-by-play voice.

Very nice. I'm I mix. I'm curious to see how this works out again. It's on peacocks. I don't know what the viewership is to be like because it's the Tigers and boils on peacock okay, but I am all for experimenting and trying different things. My guess is there going to try and do these things to test them out, see what people think and then okay. Can we try this preferable. We try this during basketball. I think that's what they're going to use these throwaway middle of the regular season baseball games trying test things out.

I think Apple has maybe tried some different things as well as major-league baseball again this year. Number of games being played major-league baseball you can afford to have one or two games like this. Okay if it's a mess phot you don't have to do it again. But I do like the experimentation of showing different viewpoints talking to different people as opposed to just two people sitting at that board we should have yeah all. All of these things we should like try different things about USFL guy am not an alternate football guy and of the exit fellows starting next year. Although they did about USFL would be coming back for another year.

The what I am looking for out of these leagues is just to technology innovation, how do we change the way we watch like I actually think that we should have more athletes miked up during the game. Yeah right you do not air anything alive you'll play it back so that you get them whatever vulgarity is there and we hope there's a lot of vulgarity, but will we edit that out and I just think it would be better. It would be better coverage. We have to keep people's interest in different ways. One of the best things visually, baseball is done with the ESPN is doing it is just my key players in talking to them during the game, which is awesome by the way Primula cross-linked at first but that's fine that's fine, but I actually like it. Just during fire that hose out today during game while standing there playing second base for the Astros there asking them about his journey like yeah I got overlooked I got was told not to come back this tryout almost didn't come back.

How long has PLL since they started in 2019. Okay, the NHL All-Star game.

This probably goes back eight, nine, 10 years out of Ed Belfour was a goalie yeah Belfour was miked up during play, and there was a player coming in on a breakaway and Belfour kinda talked through yeah it was awesome that we should have worked I'm I will give that the more access that we can get to players that are willing to have us the better. Some I'm all for trying different things different platforms.

It's one of you heard a jump John Boyd media yes that's what the whole thing was like, there's the TV, the radio call. Here's the fan perspective.

Why can't we do this by can we do that, that's how it all started and look where they are today. There fun, I thought I got to 19th 2000 started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak.

Figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen 45 or thereabouts everyday would place bets just don't do that in the second. I figured out just remember that I had to losing wagers on the Colorado Avalanche rather ugly bay lightning. I will make that adjustment and I will place our bets that is still a +3045 units around.

Thank you Jerry Kelly for winning that the in-store event +2500 a few weeks ago, but your fight back you yeah close it out zero I'm chipping away you know for a party when you get into the black figures. I know you get to it's a +5 just that said I was going to get to actually in game six of the cup finals. I lost my futures that would have made aware of a series of +450, but when they took the one nothing lead in game six. I like yeah we go work out the Way I did call game five with you out as we did absolutely all right. Sir starts off okay for some reason my bets here actually just got deleted already rock delete Mike, did you delete my pics have just to show how delete my pictures chill out there back okay there it is the judge yesterday.

Don't know nothing.

Today's Aaron judge: Ron +223 Rizzo plus you created yesterday and he hit one right in the first inning married. I think Aaron judge, +220 day Homer, all right coming up just a little bit. As a matter fact I think set the start about 10 minutes. Serena Williams returned Wimbledon over against a French woman named the harmony and and she qualified she went through qualifying to get in.

Serena would face a seated player in the second round three to get it on a wildcard. She is unseated to say that will be a tiebreaker in the match. Serena may witness magistrates that say there will be a tiebreaker in K in the match at +250 way to get any value out of this backstreet is a big cheese favors that a huge cheese for so not betting against Serena not not yet baby around me.

I think of the diamond Dodgers Rockies Clayton Kershaw on the mouth of the Dodgers. I say he gets a win tonight +145. What he actually win when a decision not Dodgers win, but Clayton Kershaw actually liked. Not that I'm doing this. I actually liked the Rockies at plus money at home so a lot like the rock is a plus money don't but I'm not doing here is my my second wager.

Tomorrow we have a really interesting match. Wright-Patterson is a pretty good collegiate player is a brick plant Wimbledon to go with a veteran American Steve Johnson to meet them at +124 that's tomorrow so give me Steve Johnson at +124 to beat Ryan Pettis okay I'll take your word on that Wimbledon man. Okay, what's the problem. Nothing.

Nothing.

I have no large weight do you make premier Lacrosse league parlay wagers yeah do three times a week, you son belts Lacrosse was so kind and I got that right is different that these guys are like obscure lacrosse games that might actually not be played high point Richmond again those teams exist items I've never seen him.

I know you pigs for your English soccer I did I did I did champions league qualifying the first first round of qualified which are two teams that are just a figment of your imagination. I get exactly as I get those team. I guess I won one of those wagers. The II did women's World Cup qualifying census countries that exist my final one WNBA okay Dallas wings over the Minnesota Lynx +1/3 like that. I like that I just all I know is the Seattle storm of just the Seattle storm for right now would do one golf wager live continue really. Yes, you can really political live in a playoff.
