This is the gold shell still playing Clemson every single year has removed the roadblock that would be Clemson or killing 2012 at 2013 Florida State so if you got a play class investing. Naturally the rest of it sets up so that you can be even with a loss to Clemson resting.

I am not gold Graham Hill sitting in for Dennis katsu is getting some sort of superhero tattoo on his forearm. He's also an adult, shockingly, but to do that and he'll be in tomorrow and will will all look at it. No big toe will be colors on it and who have superhero powers. If you could see Dennis being a superhero would superhero powers sort of powers would be here would have x-ray vision x-ray that I think he would have x-ray vision test. He would also be impervious to the insect bites okay so what I would be at a radio and a radioactive spider would try to bottom images have the opposite effect. I just it would just be left whatever no effect.

No no effect on me normally wooden wall sound here but we have breaking news. Could you did over the brink show you everything didn't grant it right so this is actually a big, very big deal. Starting at 2024.

This is not necessarily been a signed contract, but the sources that this is coming from a pretty ironclad mom believe it's an AP source, USC and UCLA are going to join the Big Ten if you listen to this program enough, especially when we talked to Patterson every Wednesday.

I've been saying for a long time that the Big Ten is going to surpass the SEC financially.

The Big Ten network is coming up for renegotiation Big Ten.

Rather, the Big Ten media tech media rights are coming up for renegotiation next the SEC is already done a big deal. Although it's not that long a deal. And while the SEC is absolutely King in football nobody's denying that what the SEC what the Big Ten has our locations in far bigger media centers.

Right now they are behind the SEC and revenue, but after adding Southern California, UCLA and UCLA is just like an add-on in Southern California, but after adding those two universities and according to the story that I have already skimmed through the Big Ten. Is it done. The Big Ten is ultimately going to be the biggest player financially in college sports. If southern can comes back under Lincoln Riley.

This is going to make the Big Ten super super interesting over time and this is where I will tie it back to the ACC a while back when there were rumors about who the ACC was going to expand with and Texas came up and where Texas goes Oklahoma follows. It was shot down. It was a credible. There were credible sources that had interest and it seemed at the time that there was an idea that well Texas is it in the Atlantic coast. Should their jig.

They can't be in this league geographically. We have long since stopped caring about geography.

This is simply about what league do you want to be in teams get on planes we schedule accordingly hack in baseball the Pac-10 were packed 12 has separated two legs that the Pac 12 N. 12 S. This was an opportunity missed not southern count UCLA, but the Texas and Oklahoma thing that was an opportunity missed a question for you going on what you were just talking about so I had a buddy the other day asked me and I want to get your thoughts on it.

What is holding back East Carolina University from trying to get in with the ACC set about East Carolina trying to get edits to the other schools want those East Carolina add anything to the other schools so usually if you're within use that phrase geographic footprint. If you are already within that geographic footprint then you generally don't add anything you don't add television eyeballs you don't meet at a media center, so when the ACC expanded to Boston College. Even if BC athletics is like the 11th choice for the people in Boston. The games would be on right so Pittsburgh again you're expanding the footprint.

There's this just there's really no reason for East Carolina to be a part of it, they, they just won't add enough dollars to then spread out and feed another hungry mouth and not try to disparage ECU. There are a dear sports at ECU employees and as a culture that's better than most of the ACC all disease baseball or and in many cases football right or but they're knocking to drive revenue in the league so that they're knocking to be invited just like State is asserted there is a lot of similarity there but the ACC when they went to expand years ago now Texas and Oklahoma. What would stop them from adding those two schools, but the notion that male they're not really in the ACC geography doesn't matter, the Big East has been in the East forever. You know Butler is in Indianapolis Creighton is in Omaha Nebraska. Marquette is in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Depaul is in Chicago, Illinois. There's no such thing as a geographically quick look we have the Big Ten which is going to have somebody schools, 16 change the name.

The big 12 had 10.

This was an opportunity missed a long time ago by the ACC and now going forward, the ACC will have one response in one response only. It will be either Notre Dame you need to join us so we can at least become like the pack 12 is going to die.

They're not going to survive without southern Cal and UCLA architect well after dark so we got right. We got to conferences.

The Pac 12 in the big 12 that are essentially on life support if the ACC doesn't act to get Notre Dame and somebody else may be multiple other schools then the ACCs best bet might be to simply get purchased by the SEC or the Big Ten. So my thing is this goal that's in there than what you said about how the ravages come out and ask for them to join. I feel like a better day word to join, they would've done it by now. I know they did during the pandemic season, but if it's not Notre Dame and who else know there's no others. No other who is no other option is noted. Marilyn can come back. Why would Marilyn come back. Marilyn left the money. Why would they come back they're going to make more money than I can be competitive, but to make more money.

South Carolina again.

Why would anybody leave nobody's ever leaving the SEC of the Big Ten is too much money you not leaving all that money. I think fans of the ACC needs.

We need to live ACC with a swing win. Yes, we need the Saudi's to buy the ACC and that we have all the money will need money.

I was a screensaver SEC fan says the problem. I think they'd be happy to see South Carolina leave just because they give George or the automatic when every season to help them get into the college football in and out look at the game changer for college athletics. The people of always thought that for me. I'm not the only one saying it. We are headed for a massive upheaval in the structure of colleges for college football because that's what this is all about is entirely about football. We are in for a massive upheaval for how the sport is governed and when southern Callan UCLA become under the income under the umbrella of the Big Ten golden studio with my friend Coach Pete the router with the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement coach.

How does longevity risk figure into our retirement and income plan.

This is the best of times and the worst of times and longevity risk me to get a lift to all to me everyday lives not too long after we want to money to outlive us and unfortunately many people have seen you out there listening.

Maybe one of them.

Your money is not designed to outlive you. You might outlive your money and that's not what we want to have happen because we get to that day after you run out of money not to be a fun time with design a plan that guarantees you will never run out of money. We call it the GPI plant growth protection lifetime income for the next 10 people is the golden ticket out of thousand already been at no cost or obligation, and all you have to do is call we make it so easy.

Would you like financial independence into your retirement and beyond it.

800-661-7383 that golden ticket is $1000 value or you could text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete to root the next move will be further either.

Further expansion for that league and/or the SEC and some consolidation from the rest by I don't know what even available.

There is not a single big 12 school that really moves the needle that already is it in the ACCs footprint. I guess you could you could add Houston but I just don't know what the what the ACCs reaction is apart from Notre Dame Ave. makes him you know you make some concessions to the Irish, which is fine. They did that during the pandemic, but there's a lot there's a lot of money that's can be going to places and not a lot of money coming to the ACC answer that question is like trying to answer the old-age question of how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop.

The conference will never know which I honestly I never I never got I was bit I always bit the Tootsie plantation. Another thought on who Sue is. That's a fair point is you just get you whether it's a Tootsie pop or blow pop was necessary.

How to get soundbites in the middle of the service I would've been a perfect one dollar been fantastic that his injury everything he's keeping secrets.

Michael felt that we can actually talk to Michael Felder about this from the stadium college football analyst knows more about players anybody I know. Talk to him next. So earlier today actually an ungodly hour of the morning.

I texted my friend Mike Felder stadium and said want to talk arch Manning wanted to talk to potential balance of power shifted.

I was this good. I was thinking in my brain, like new powerhouse schools and football apart from the Alabama Clemson Ohio State Georgia group and even a little Serena Williams. Little did I know that the pack rather the pack 12 I guess would potentially lose its two most important pieces of the puzzle and those are USC and UCLA will talk to Mike Felder about that and where we go from here because this is a very very big deal. We haven't yet. Mike Felder at in the bleachers on twitter from stadium services turned out to be a pretty newsmaking day. Whatever. According to John Wilbur writes and works for the Pac 12 southern Cal and UCLA are going to join the Big Ten quick, just quick reaction to just of that news and then we'll go from there.

I have I have some questions just we just kicking around the pack will fight hard to remember not to walk away. On the other thing though what would it make convert part of not getting as much money. Alabama whoever the part of not getting that much money.

All profit we going and that will be increased cost of travel for everything and put off the light.

I can say this for a long time now the SEC is the revenue leader, although it's pretty close between the SEC in the Big Ten but the Big Ten is next at the trough with media rights and adding southern And UCLA will jump that even more than it already was going to jump and I think the Big Ten's goal ultimately going to be the wealthiest of the contract of the conferences and I just don't know what the future is for the pack 12 a much were they really have one. I know the big the big 12 added Houston in central Florida.

Whatever.

But that doesn't make up for Texas and Oklahoma leaving so that's good to keep them around the 35 million per school range me that could end up being almost 1/3 of what the SEC and the Big Ten are getting the ACCs going to get left behind to eat of it. If you had to guess how does the ACC react problem.

I will leave that order.

Well, that would be nice already going to be a and so much for one out of the park will be very, very much.

The reality of what you get better and that's important. But the day you have to convince the name that the handwriting is on the wall that were going to two leagues it right now, we'd only be going to two leagues, so you might as well join with us and will find some.

I don't know maybe Washington nor Colorado know that look.

At this point were just throwing stuff at the wall will order the most.

I just am also thinking about like like Portland's beautiful, not knocking it, but Seattle is a bigger city right both baby had the entire state, Washington, Oregon, Notre Dame, Colorado, Arizona animal Stanford Callaway you have to do that right. Maybe that's the ACCs move is to take the northern part of the pack 12 and Notre Dame and whoever else and and and make your own supersized league because what would you do if you were Clemson or Florida State or Miami. At this point. Gotta get on the phone with your Magi or that IIII really. I realized today I've been doing or by job right. I lived through all of the realignment. I was in college when the air Miami table. I would be one of and then we walked to the effect that your old and make payment for the cop I was there for that. I was walking when we all got out of what you got left out of the cold product development. I was there and the victory for me now total 3,000,001 and the reality of it is I don't think you stronger by grabbing people across the country to the day we make the solution of because they will be desire from one of two powerbrokers I think are more likely to be UVA.

They well in that group. And then they possibly Miami. By idly. I agree wholeheartedly. I was just saying a few minutes ago that this is the sort of feels like a we were asleep at the wheel situation from about 10 years ago that though the league should've recognized that Texas and Oklahoma were vulnerable because they wanted out.

There was nowhere to go. They were going to the pack 12 and they should admit they should've made a strong play but that is not what happened. So I'm sitting here looking at its Felder a great website that is a convergence of food and football and Mike Felder, my friend, you have the full rundown of the Kentucky hot Brown of just trying to drive people to your site man because you are a you are next level with that kind of stuff but yet it's funny when I texted you this morning when I know we were to talk about UCLA and USC judgeship. I can talk about new new players in college football. So let me ask you about this and you get to like X and O in real deep dives in football and food and this this site is awesome.

I want people to go check it out its Felder.bulletin.com no artwork. I don't know what we're seeing is a great or is he Manning is good. No right now. Okay, not an article I put our committee bell milk thing right out of high school point I'm making it. I don't think they feared him not going to walk in and completely change the face of your program like we saw with Sherry Patterson was like we were feeling right now. Macduff JP Daniel Morgan that and that's the problem more prudent to get other guys to go to school work to bring people and they can build a locker around her but all in all the reader know what the reason we on the lightly thought we thought that DJ would be when they both went all through the college going off of the one major setback for point and now I don't know what exactly point on Cordova mother but if you build a foundation at all, were never to fear material will help you never got for all the people around them work so I worked hard all and then at Michigan obviously horrible. The other thing is probably not what you do anything all customer situation right to get up and comer critics great of recruiting.

Gotta put together. I don't what may I have a pretty hard and that where when I will require. I'm not looking at the full-length thing I'm looking at what an interesting look at the clock sure what the benefit of the Notre Dame they been killing it pretty well. Michael Selden from Stadium in the bleachers on Twitter so it leads me to this question will close on this.

This is the other college football thing I wanted to ask you for the last of the college football playoff.

Aaron, you and I are both not were both not fans of expanding beyond four. I'd be in favor of going back to two as opposed to moving it all but the we had Alabama Ohio State Clemson maybe the run is over. Who knows. Now, Georgia and is always been somebody else kinda sticking in there. Whether it's an LSU made Michigan was there last year Notre Dame are there new players coming in Southern Cal going to get back under Lincoln Riley are there signs of that order. We just have a new head coach on the same in the same system is Texas everybody get back we get to have new players in here or we still get to be looking at the same schools goal that I would ask the question I what what the reality of and when you look at it as long as they develop longer work there there to continue to be: I will admit I think Ohio State and because they have acquired and now we have a deep coordinator enforce a policy of disappointment, accountability while playing the type of defense that was a very heavy thing like having people adding an old one had a big head you could create payoff and make officially got their one 2011 guy with a lot of it going to be devastating to run the football, the idea of a quarterback looking up. My coach won't let me throw the ball over the top.

I guess I just have to hit it off and we will pick up right thought bubble this point would be. We need one of many thought bubbles in TV coverage. We do know I love you because I love the fact that he realized how not an coordinator will not take a not require inpatient white-collar to end up with.

They will get burned every element, but they also are going to suffer get your run and make that happen. Make a hard road.

What they can't do that myself in the bleachers on Twitter you the best my friend follow them on not on Twitter at in the bleachers.

Check them out on Stadium and go check out its Felder.bulletin.com, the definitive Kentucky Brett what the Kentucky hot Brown that I get that right as building a brown hotel. I got my mom last 40 years in public occasion of the future of the facilitator over the course of your I am actually installed on 40 years in public education. She is a hero hero is as you are as well. Michael talk to you soon.

Matt, thanks you got it for years in public yet. I think Greg come back and reliable talk also about the breaking news of the day, which ultimately is going to usher in a massive shakeup in college sports. Next we started the program with the news of Miles bridges and a domestic violence arrest felony domestic violence arrest that happened yesterday. So that cast little bit of a pall over everything. Certainly for for the Charlotte Hornets for the victim for Miles bridges and putting a little bit of a cloud over his future and all that about two hours later, we see the news that USC and UCLA are reportedly headed to the Big Ten and will be for the start of the 2024 season so this year, next year, staying in the pack 12 pack 12 is right right now in negotiation try to redo their TV bear meteorites packages June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak.

Figuring it out on the fly became fifth anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen while good luck with that. Everybody that's listening course.

Unless you're driving on the road right now be sortable one out for pack 12 After Dark Silver, the sum of those games. Those teams will still be playing something that is will be planned after 10 o'clock but was just thinking about what the ACC had of the head as the ACC react to that and I'm not sure that they can other than what is the obvious, which is a Notre Dame we gotta do this otherwise, we're going to be out were not to exist is what happens if you are Clemson if your Florida State. If you were Miami. If you are Louisville and your success in football is paramount to your identity as a school you can't you can't fall behind by essentially 65% in the revenue category to the schools are competing with Clemson can't be getting $35 million from meteorites if George is getting 75 million from meteorites on that note was about insisting that scenario because they have a lot of primetime games this year for their upcoming season you have the East Carolina one of those at noon.

It's only on ESPN Texas Tech clips that is either going on ESPN or ABC same to North Carolina ESPN or ABC and then there is the Virginia Tech game. It's going be the Thursday night the weekend before Halloween. They'll be a big game just for the fan base fan bases. You know what a Virginia Tech vandal traveled up from Blacksburg but NC State, not only with the expectations they have this year as being a good team with their rights going back but Bobby were looking on them to give Clemson some competition again here on out the. The reality is that the final scores don't matter.

Just it doesn't matter. Florida State don't even have to be good, right Miami don't even have to be good but they are as football brands and I'm not saying that the they might have greater attraction to the Big Ten than they do to the SEC but your you. Those schools will be looking for a richer home a richer neighborhood because they have to. They have to be ACC has to be able to go there. They been talking about bridging the gap and they have to be able to financially come up with some sort of an idea that could get like you never going to catch all the way up to me that it's completely unrealistic and it might even be unnecessary to catch all the way up, but you can dance you can't be this far behind those those schools will be a phone call away and it's been pointed out, yes there is grant of rights. The ACCs contract with their member institutions gives their meteorites money to the ACC if they leave. I will just say any deal, any deal can be negotiated away any deal is not about the records of the team is about what the reputation of the football programs how to offer it's it's Eve it's almost not about that either because we don't know is good happens and I know that all value was to happen within seasons of premises when you look at next season who NC State will host 1/4 family sedan at a Miami because on their major stop here. None of this matters not if it matters. It's it's only about what you are as a valuable property. It just doesn't matter. It doesn't matter like as much as we would like it to be different. NC state is not going to surpass North Carolina on the value letter is not right that that sucks being state could like now if state becomes a national power different story. But barring something completely wacky and I apologize for saying that that's completely wacky but kind is there not passing UNC they're not passing Clemson they're not passing Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, just not doing maybe they can get the imprint of their Thomas doing his impression of the junkman logo and add it to their stuff and that might be some sales just saying.

So that was it seems to do a lot for Carolina not try to make this about, you know, this state is an also ran here and frankly there's a lot also-rans in the ACC and if you are a yeah Virginia has the, the Big Ten has interest in many schools in the ACC as they would add something to the Big Ten that might be.

Ultimately, the move for a lot of schools and it might be a mass exodus of a lot of schools may be a fee if the lawyering is good enough to be ACC level may be, they retain a whole bunch of money and do can wake and Boston College and up really really rich taking in other schools, meteorites, money is not just this is a this is a game more more so than what Texas and Oklahoma did go to the SEC this is a game changer because the pack 12 is on life support. The big the big 12 is kinda on life support anyway. Was really sort of the I just say the generosity of ESPN that was keeping the money at about the same sure, but this even throws all of that into a into a tailspin look good the next were going to operation football in Charlotte in three weeks. Now, if I'm Jim Phillips. I have answers on market have answers by July 20 to be an interesting two days at the Westin in Charlotte, a very interesting two days. I will say this, and the associate producer today. Jovi is understand this, those two days for me normally are.

I endure them I don't love them. I get through the this time I'm into it. I'm into it there not to have answers but they gotta have something so really, really interesting time.

Otherwise I'm just gonna write stories about hurricanes and free agency going out of you didn't love that in the past when they had little mini putt putt challenge set up for the coaches and others become violent. All that but it got to the Oji dozer of those are fun events. Look, we brought electric football.

Joe set up video games while with a lot with a lot of cool things but this is a this is a big time cataclysmic occurrence in college sports and I can't wait to see what happens next. The whole landscape is in five years. I don't believe we will read if you went to sleep for 10 years you would recognize what college sports to look like in five years or maybe sooner than five years are, let's dive into a little bit of a rewind shall he help me here grant West Durham voice of the ACC three which which segment of our conversation with Wes. Are we going to hear what I hear from the very beginning when you can ask him about the recent news that pachyderm after tomorrow I will no longer be a very upsetting borne out for those guys to not go anywhere there both to be part of the ACC. They're not changing conferences well we don't know the Big Ten network by the ACC network how much money is Western worth a lot better question is this Packer had to get his basement back to that is okay his basement.

His basement still belongs there appears Wes. We are fine. All good and no market will be think about the coming week. Expect the people would love it.

I'm hoping that my point about what role is going to expand the order that and you know a lot of things in you know I could be your careful placement of the list of the time were no reports on the road. I think it will all be clear about what I want. First of all, you have a future in emceeing big events. You did a phenomenal job to get moving at the NSA may awards on Monday and I knew you were there all weekend but I only showed up Monday, but you did a great job running through all that, you big time so I appreciate that that you will come on this show on short notice, but you are big time and I appreciate your friendship and all of that will limit record of all. It was awesome to watch you get the award group for you regard. That's kind of the you noted it all on a blustery party organization, law, or wait now on board here for some reason because I look at Cornell. So there there's a lot of things about that but number two. The coolest thing about seeing you get the award the other night was the reaction of Scott Revco got up out of his chair and came 40 feet across the room to hug you got off in spades.

While I was about the needed thing up saying and that was a cool moment between God known each other a long time and I just want to share that with your listeners because I got something that your people. James talk so whatever talk sports are limited by think it's great that they're still cultivated lasting friendships in this industry that go beyond the workplace or go beyond that environment and it was cool to see you guys gotta reconnect that way was really cool that was closed all night all night was cool.

Wes did a super super job as an MCI will also say that we had a number of really emotional speeches. Scott Van Pelt talking about his friend Stuart Scott Bledsoe and Scott, who went into the NSA may Hall of Fame, and Scott himself was honored as the sportscaster of the year. He and Ernie Johnson tied for that award. Ernie Johnson was emotional but Scott Scott brought it absolutely brought Jackie McMullen when the Hall of Fame she was great.

Kirkpatrick spoke for a really long time, but it was funny.

He spoke for look Kirkpatrick that we are all there to see Charles Barkley was very good even get the warty was he help present Kirkpatrick it was it was a great night is for our ceremony but it was a present worth of tremendous tremendous night so I think once per for bringing all of that up was knocked was not my intent like this to be about me. I let's let's talk a little bit more about this is this Felder talking about USC and UCLA, but Mike Felder from Stadium. We talked in about 20 minutes ago but if you didn't hear it. This is him talking about the not really a rumor. This is going to happen. Southern count and UCLA leaving the pack 12 for the Big Ten convert part of not getting much money. Alabama whoever the card or not getting that much money Bob Proctor we going to that will all be increased cost of travel for everything and put off the were looking at yeah like I been saying this for a long time.

Right now the SEC is the revenue leader, although it's pretty close between the SEC and the Big Ten but the Big Ten is next at the trough with media rights and adding Southern California and UCLA will jump that even more than it already was going to jump and I think the Big Ten's goal ultimately going to be the wealthiest of the country of the conferences and I just don't know what the future is for the pack 12 a much were they really have one. I know the big the big 12 added Houston in central Florida. Whatever.

But that doesn't make up for Texas and Oklahoma leaving so that's good to keep them around the 35 million per school range me that could end up being almost 1/3 of what the SEC and the Big Ten are getting the ACC's going to get left behind to eat of it. If you had to guess how does the ACC react are the problem will will that would leave that.

Well, that would be nice already going and so much for one out of the park will be very, very much. The reality of what you get better and that's important man I I can express just how monumental this decision would be the ripple effects will be felt everywhere.

Everywhere Graham we have one minute left here. Close the show. With this.

This is about 12 years ago. Almost now we used to do a draft every once in a while on the show on the old afternoon show that I did with Joey's and we once did I make an ACC or college football expansion draft where we put together conferences, then we are scheduling goals shall and there was no geography necessary. That's where were headed, except that we won't have four legs, we might just have to and they might be massive. Have a great job they so much pleasure let you your key card to work tomorrow will see a great job by June 19, 2000 May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak.

Figuring it out on the fly became fifth anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen
