Financial capital financial.com. This is the gold shell at Troy's in Atlanta actually is more than a the New York Mets to get one of the big three game series from the Atlanta Braves matchers are dealt seven innings, nine strikeouts, three hits and the Mets got couple runs batted in for Pete Alonso's and the home run Derby again.

We give you warm with a run-scoring groundout and a solo home run in the eighth and Edwin Diaz was lights out in the ninth and the Mets opened up now a 2 1/2 game lead over Atlanta, Elliott Johnson, a former brave one of the legends of durables baseball joins us to talk about this series and maybe a couple of other things. It cannot just say that like a lot of other things have gotten my way.

It was really cool to sit down and watch a really well played baseball game last night. It moved fast until the very end will make a person about Stone Temple pilots will start the segment. Well done, and second yellow shirt or so interesting about watching him continue to be at the top of the game developing a cutter which is kind of equalized lefties to a degree, because I mean he was messing with Alton all night you get them with the changeup and then he comes back next idea grows cutter in you can't cover everything and you have to pick one thing though, specifically speaking mostly about Paul but that's not always what you going to get. Then I think we end up getting the biggest pitch was to Rosario I think you finished him with a slider underneath the strike zone or cutter cutter underneath the zone with you guys on, and I think that end up in the big picture. The night was the need to get them out of the seventh-inning and shares a response to what was the Fox broadcast was even speculating that he was coming out for the eight maybe because it's matchers are but when everybody in the dugout is congratulating you after that inning. It's pretty much it's pretty much a done deal. The he went as far as Buck Showalter was going to allow them to go but look, I thought of the bull of Max freight was great. I was talking earlier off the air about Dr. Willis as an analyst I think Dr. does a pretty good job he got out a little bit over skis with putting Max free potentially in the Hall of Fame down the road, but I thought freight was good to healthy weight hundred 50 pounds hopefully. He can stay healthy because the short of going out car that is already in all American go that far, go a long way to go there right is Eddie's 28 years.

He's on his Right arrow.

You know I mean, if not, Glavine will be in Maddock in writing.

If the new era baseball and if anybody can do it is probably on track to be that guy but you know I guess that's what everybody knows everybody kind want to pontificate different thing and he certainly deserving of all the freight in the world to this point. Maybe just get a little ahead of ourselves that are not not notice the effect of determining it was a great picture hitter and find out what reply did not lower the business is no question he also called Turner Field historic which they did absolutely convinced there so I just I just got a leave it right there. Elliott Johnson is joining us here on the gold so it's hard to say which teams are the best. We all think the Yankees are the best team in baseball and byway Red Sox winning come-from-behind wins on Saturday and Sunday to get out of that series. Even was quite a feat when the Mets and Braves stack is I don't think there's a ton difference between the two except the Mets might have higher rent not, might they have higher-end starting pitching at the top of their rotation there pretty clear looking neck and neck and I'm doing they're going to think they are going to go with you saying I'm I'm glad that the Red Sox knocked the Yankees down a few pegs Trevor story coming up big with bases-loaded, you know, I think that Matt I know the Braves are great and they played great baseball, the Mets are getting help you go and that's what Mary know when door hasn't played great youth at 240 but yet required night last night which is great. They need to get him going quickly. I think the night writer, you probably I think the Braves probably have a better chance of winning today's Hartford anybody to get to him. He got elite raffle and it really really bright on everyone. So the grades are probably going to win today will see the rubber match but there pretty evenly balanced the great have a great lineup. I think that if you're going into it. So and you have to face earlier and then a healthy pogrom. Good luck that that the one-two punch that can remind me of Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling back in 2001 and on top of that one walker for the Mets is a guy that he might end up on the All-Star team only because so many guys pull out of the All-Star game which is fine so they got depth in the starting rotation Carlos Carrasco can give them innings they've got a lot of depth in their rotation. They bet the ministers are for seven weeks.

Jacob pogrom has not yet thrown a pitch this year Mets lineup has not been great. One thing I would say about Lynn doors that, in spite of the fact diesel hidden 240 is not more than 60 runs batted on date back then was gourmet on the cry I'm I'm really impressed with his production even interesting guy didn't he come out of nowhere and walking and trot last night is not the most athletic guy in the world need to be if you didn't like that so interesting that there there scraping the barrel. In some ways and then they got their horses at the top so again it's amazing what a new owner's ownership canoe because there obviously formidable not to be good this year.

The good that your two yeah I think a lot of that is Buck Showalter and hiring him was just the first credible smart thing they had done in that department in a while oh you know there was a little subtle thing last night that I thought was key always thought the baserunning was an underrated part of the game that people didn't pay enough attention to it, and I've seen enough bad baserunning cost, especially the Mets is my focus on cost them runs and I don't have to go any further, they go to Timo Perez in the first inning I was in the first daily, the eighth-inning of game one of the World Series against the Yankees where he should've scored a ball off the top of the wall, but he waited to see if it was good to be caught there was any human being alive that was getting to that ball and he ultimately gets thrown out the plate so the Mets you know get big cost them a run memo goes 1st to 3rd on a kind of a flare into shallow. I think it was right left center that a lot of guys would've held up on what he knew right away it was going to drop so he makes first the third easily and ultimately comes across on the Pete Alonso Bramble about being a good teammate right there is wonderful when you come to the – you don't have to get it Dragon I got yet if Arteaga bring out Lynn Dorwood with driving garden got it funny how that works out out of great observation by you because you get down there left and to look at Lynn doors RBI total reference your earlier statement. It probably is a reflection of you guys always pushing the envelope to get the third lesson to make her more easy opportunity to get RBI to court the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement coach simple. When we start tax planning and retirement should start as soon as possible because there's one thing that taxes are not going away and so the game here is we know the rules. A lot of people want to ignore the rules or act like they don't offer me with them but I rest those rules and so we get retirement. The region start taking some their money out of your accounts so the secret here is to put a force field around as much as possible. By strategically moving some Romani to Roth IRA were some of the other vehicles that are taxed like a special life insurance policies can borrow against your money there and never have to pay tax on you wanted to build up inside your Space up there a lot of strategies here.

One strategy that does not work is ignoring mature and not ignored the next 10 people will do for you your very own tax and retirement plan help you minimize taxation with retirement 800-661-7383 only got his call or you can text Adam to 21000 for coach Pete the road your your statement about about the Braves I think the Braves are excellent so and I'm I'm not big on the rear Mets fan who doesn't hate the Braves I've it's just never been. I want to beat the Braves. It's been frustrating, especially you know during the chipper Jones or were they couldn't get over on Atlanta but I've never hated the Braves Elma McCray's about their broadcast method of the story altogether. But I think both teams are really really good and I think it's really good for baseball. When you have the Mets in the Braves kinda battling it at the top of that division of real quick about the All-Star game, and in all of that and home run Derby, are you more of the home run Derby got, or has the this to me the All-Star game is kinda lost a little bit but I love home run Derby even though it's the same over and over again and I'm like you home run Derby got my first memories with Ken Griffey Junior backward in it that make you a baseball fan. I don't know what dogs and then like they first unveiled the slow Mo camera in Saco electric 2000 want me right Giambi Giambi going Saco over and over again with that slow Mo camera, which is fascinating to watch them for That so I mean, and then really one of the more memorable one was Josh Hamilton. Yes, in Yankee Stadium who went ballistic and then end up losing to you can if you can drop the one that you can get on the street grandeur out just immortal bones right on the money will literally get them to believe I did. I didn't know you really just pulled into thin air.

Not a big Mac big Mac at in Boston involved you know close to the for cosine Frank Thomas in Turner Field. I mean like these were my favorite. No back when I was a kid and then you get to play with you guys when they do it. Ultimately, they do say I don't want to embarrass myself and I remember Bobby or Greg you have a great one. I think in Philly when he broke his bat not not broke it, but like worn out to the point where it started breaking down the how to get a new one so the home run Derby is the event pictures in the All-Star game take it very seriously and I respect that that's not the position got down, I think their expectations of what they're going to get out of it are different because not all final game in the market wanted bat right so it's really hard to hit 1000 so I think a little bit different is what you really don't see a whole lot of high-scoring affairs because you generally speaking, like my dad was used to say things those of Esau for picking and there is no forfeiting the All-Star none. 04 pitching my favorite. I have two great memories of the of All-Star games Dwight Gooden following Fernando Valenzuela think it was in San Francisco. Gooden's is it I think it was his rookie year in 1984, Valenzuela was great and then Gooden just came in and through absolute gas and as a kid, my favorite player was Lima's early of the Mets and Ms. Italy in Seattle hit a game tying homerun off of Jim Kern and then walked with the bases loaded to force in the winning run in the ninth-inning and didn't get the MVP on man, how is it possible that you can hold for the tying run and get the RBI that drove in the winning run and not be the MVP and that's because Dave Parker throughout two runners at home plate and that all started on my my memories of All-Star games. Ellie Johnson is best appreciated time. The front will you like you like the Braves tonight and you know I don't even know was pitching tomorrow.

I just know it's not Jacob. Jacob, the grommet might be Carlos Carrasco.

More now. I would check that far in advance but will check back. I'm sure I'm looking for the rubber match record take their business not question Archer will talk to person you got Ellie Johnson thanked him his geek down the All-Star homerun derby was a two-time defending champion of the of the home run Derby you know what else is new. Albert, who holds at sisal go home tour type thing that would criticize major-league baseball for a lot of things in there almost all justified major-league baseball this year has started a policy with a basically good have like old guys who are on their way out. But stars on the All-Star team. Albert pool halls and Miguel Cabrera are both on the All-Star team make sense to guys who are flat going into the Hall of Fame should even have to wait for five years and yet that is that that is a very cool thing but pools is going to be in home run Derby as is Ronald Cuneo Junior by the way forward to to all of that next week.

June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 with the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen I want Tiger Woods press conference this morning from the old course at St. Andrews. Home of golf Film of golf was not official and he was asked obviously questions about live and he had some thoughts about live. There were no questions because Tiger would be able to answer these about the Department of Justice is investigation into whether or not the PGA Tour has run afoul of antitrust laws, so I thought, man, we need to find somebody who really understand this because I don't on the Adobe radio host, but we do Mark Edelman, who is a professor and attorney, sports, ethics, director, and also writes on antitrust sports and gaming and he joins us on the Adam gold show not the first time he has been on this program.

I appreciate your time counselor so it let's get right to it because the Department of Justice is launching an investigation they've already contacted players what are we, what kind of trust violation. Are we possibly talking about the great question. If you look at the PTA or a core is not probably not angle entity, but rather composed of several separate one, which in many ways to be like and say the NFL is also not a single entity, but composed of 32 separate if you the idea that each of the ornament zoning and one could reasonably argue one way that that idea. Then when the individual ornaments of the PTA board get together. I may put in place a rule that said any golfer that competes in the rival ornament will be boycotted, or preventing from competing in their ornament. One can make an argument that if multiple actors coming together boycott a competitor boycott a party that works with a competitor or competitive entity rise to challenges under section 1 of the Sherman act without getting overly technical than any contract company currently among multiple parties in restraint of trade. Unreasonable would be illegal.

Is there an argument, though, and I would make this argument that the tournaments while sort of separate are all under one umbrella and that the tour negotiates television packages and contracts and the tournaments all operate under the schedule of the PGA Tour, so it isn't one in Ito. However, many 42 separate events, but really one event with like a like a concert series rate counterpoint media. The being on time (for the legal route without certainly is an argument that you'll be able to move forward. P. Core members would you back the NFL had many fine rights make the same argument that their teams have a collective television deal not to be exempt from antitrust hotly contacted that it made way all the way up to the US Supreme Court, which ultimately said in the context of a professional sports league like the NFL, you do not have a single entity that you have 32 separate team only making and are not perfectly aligned now family and I love the fact that you brought up the joint broadcasting weight. The reason why today we are able. The NFL game joint broadcasting deal on television and the other professional portly is something known as Back – and will allow for that so I don't think the combined broadcasts right would carry the day playing that the different appointment. Core will be able argue that would be somehow they're not paying as it will portly, like the NFL, but somehow the greater integration between appointments and one another on some form of equally shared revenues were one interest would not be disparate for another. So whereas the giant Jack. Technically he dealt with one another and the owners of the Johnny make more money by giant Jack somehow the PTA war were able to show that there is only one center decision-making and financial only aligned with one another, then it becomes a more interesting question on the law market is joining us here he is an attorney and as an expertise in, and I trust in the Department of Justice is investigating whether or not the PGA Tour is in violation. In that regard based on their banishment of live tour players the PGA Tour.

Essentially, it's not is not a union.

It's an association and like that. They like to say that the players are the tour.

There are 225 or so members of the PGA Tour. The top level of the tour know the PGA.

The PGA Tour is not banning those other players who left live left to go to the live tour or not banning them from participating on the live tour so they're not preventing them from essentially earning a living, even in the United States. Why can't the PGA Tour enforce their own rules well will will competitive and short term lease worker to go for what they really seem to be attempting to do is create filling the back way golfer from being willing to go to the ally before and while it is not often that goal so far. Think about it from the standpoint of a young golfer breaking in the rack that they play in this other core they could never use them. Come back and play in the PGA with incentivized someone might bow and play for what will be the competition from never doing that. So in the first place and I probably will be seen as overly restrained nap right. I know people here are want to talk about golf and I know I keep on coming back and talk about football analog. We have to and want to come back with a different case involving the NFL that went all the way for report on multiple player turncoat William Ravitch now nowadays premier professional, portly don't really have any US competition, but several points in time in the past there been thought of the United States or elsewhere think he premier professional and what the NFL did back in the late 40s early 50s they ruled bad football player were to go and play in a new startup league ball and they can never come back and play for any NFL and all of the FLP degree the reasonable ram of the patient promote players is instead of choosing between you and I felt clean and arrival thought a team that will be a lot of about going to the rival team might not.

A couple of years and they would never be NFL opportunity that was hurting them in the person which had gone to arrive only, and then when the NFL hire him as a player or coach.

He knew the NFL team argument that each of the individual NFL team was separate after and that any given team could make the vision not to hire him for any legal reason that I the New York Giants never rule and we are not going to hire players that played in the rivalry of each of the team came together and combined reach the same agreement that the mountains were restraint of trade in the labor market in violation of section 1 of the Sherman case. Rabbits went all the way to the Supreme Court and overturning the collective banks (basketball if you think a single PGA appointment Pebble Beach and Pebble Beach wants to have a rule that said for their ornament. We are not going to have any golfer out there that competed in the past three years we would be okay under section 1 of the Sherman act about pollution that will completely be okay. The problem comes in when you don't have the individual quarries making decisions on their own.

Each of the wonderment from the poor agree to the same role. Now you have collective behavior and collective behavior, which is meant to explore the new torrent from being it will compete in the marketplace and where the line Mark Edelman is joining us here is an attorney with an expertise in, and I trust I almost seems like were getting to this point. If there's a paper trail or credible and overlaying evidence of a threat that if the Jay Monahan, the Commissioner of the PGA Tour said to will just say Dustin Johnson was the first note big-name player to go to the live series. If he says to Dustin. If there's an email that said, if you go there you will never play on the PGA Tour again.

That would be the problem but if there is no long-standing threat. If there if it's left vague, then maybe the PGA Tour is not in danger to be shown under an laws based on the totality of evidence based on loading alternative possibilities based on a group change in behavior that would not otherwise enough. Only in the worst cases, will you find the smoking gun document in the early days of law on smoking.gun documents were out there all the time. I guess the real beginning of email they came back when people are not realize that their emails will be available to be shown from all the circumstances.

Even without that right now. Go to baseball for a second and just make a point on antitrust cases with three very famous cases in baseball. Three consecutive years on the labor agreement, owners of the baseball team who are not assigned free and it took place in 85 8687 all refined. The major-league baseball and profound libel included the first case came in 1985 and in the 1985 he was the smoking gun email. I believe they'll with him for one to me. Basically baseball have this document in the document that will not break.

They pretty much open and shut off seven there were no moping gun documents but based on the change in behavior behavior that you went back to find otherwise on being a nap. Interestingly, if we come back to the PGA for a moment I thought the reasonability of a role as economic, regional components for rule that might limit you from playing on arrival toward might be okay and complete band that would not. So for example if different PGA Tour competitions had a rule that you are not eligible for if you competed in another court in the past 70, you know, there might be some reasonable basis of the matter how they camping seven days that might be some reasonable basis in terms of marketing the athletes about that blanket rule is that if you played in this other appointment you can't compete with no direction played very much like intended work, competition, and we find the question of whether this is something the DOJ should get involved in your perspective, there is a real potential for a claim. This is not for claimed the DOJ playing around with no reasonable line. The question of should DOJ be the party to bring the or should we require a golfer that is not happy by one of the LIC or is not happy about them to bring the action themselves and fund, but with a reasonable question often is very real. At a minimum, the whole bowl and perhaps a strong case again from what PJ real real quick. As we have to go Mark Edelman, I appreciate your time.

You can follow him on Twitter at Mark Edelman's would do if which side would you like to argue. I think I will be a lot more fun to argue the site again. I personally like the place inside also really Frank there is enough here and what PJ said publicly is not very appreciate your time thank you so much and hopefully we can talk again my pleasure.

Have a good one to Mark Adelman appreciate his time. This is the atom gold shell June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became fifth anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen
