Some summits are so good to see you guys excited as we continue to go through our whole story series is so amazing to see how the good news impacts us would be blessed by the sea and how even in the Old Testament as we go through Bible how God is continually continually speaks to us through his son Jesus to David and Ashley. Two and in an account in the Bible and the book of Exodus we see God's people suffer melt one thing that I know and understand that I don't I've never met one single person. The light suffered effectively limited cellular story about my about my crazy family. Okay, listen it in there. There are six of us for my children. Are you in our family have three daughters are one son one night memo I reloaded date night. You know we always like he is no listen when someone is watching you guys now have to act better with him that you do with us because we did there was a crazy sales but they might not be viewed as a threat of going to bed late going to date night and come back from our their drama so we got a deal with this of me and my wife, what a very old-school, very slick way to get them back with a list all for Gagliano not get a spanking today and you will tell us how many licks you deserve. Israel school right you know there will I all man okay so you everybody says I wanted to learn everything.

But if we get down to my youngest nephew is about 45 that is girl is something else okay. This lets you understand Kiersten for moment here for the County. That will talk in third person to become a child. It was will go about Dunkin' Donuts as you say, Kiersten Shirley would like one of those Dunkin' Donuts today. Michael you are talking to third person right now everyone's on CSA to my wife mommy why hasn't happened yet, why was I will you talking about sick. Why am I not famous yet wisely taken so long enough. She's that good is like a three or four years old. His name is Jonathan so you know we get down the line and we tell the kids you have to give us a number nebulous number one through whatever Kiersten listed as in the series they say is zero. Because that's the number two and I will I all my God is girl you little sooner.

Something else you know where is the point is listen. Nobody wants to go through any kind of pain in the, suffering, whether it is something that someone else is inflicting on you or if you were the cause of no one was to go through that.

But the good news is that God always has a plan of rescue for us in the midst of our suffering and are seen soliciting God's plan in the book of Exodus.

This part of the whole story is about a rescue mission that begins on the night a prolific event that happens one night's call Passover is in Exodus 12.

But before we get to the path.

Nobody gets us of how do we get from chapter 1 chapter 12 something to explain it really quickly when I want to make some real key observations along the way.

So in Exodus 1 there is an evil dog harden Pharaoh he's a slave. God's people in the street in the extremely harsh I like Joseph, we heard about last week whose leadership actually left Egypt, he gave been with them during a three year famine and allow ease up the flowers and allow this country to have the wealth that it had this Pharaoh now doesn't view God.

God's people as an instrument of salvation at all. In fact, he is so scared of these people.

He fears them so much. He's so sadistic is so callous in the order that all the Hebrew born males to be executed there during this time little baby Moses gracefully avoids being killed is actually raised by the daughter of the mandate is trying to kill him, his amazing story writer and if it is to fast-forward and when Moses is to be about 40 years old.

He gets sick of seeing the injustice on his people when he tried to take justice into his own hands and he and he killed an Egyptian slave master and he hopes that no one finds out, but as soon as the news is out, Moses fears his life and he flees Egypt and go to a place called Midian for 40 more years. So now Moses is 80 years old 80 years old and God calls Moses back to ease it for his rescue mission memo to strive to avoid this call to God placed on advice because they won him a murderer on number two you will be broadly speaking, all these people and I'm not great or not, the greatest order I can't speak audit will have some inadequacies there databases like Moses, please percentage you understand I am the Lord, and this really is not really about you. Moses is not about your inadequacies is not about your past is not about your sin is about my promise that I have for my people.

So what you hear this for moment you're here today so if you would just like Moses, it might've been a while since you set foot around people of God. It might've been a while since you crack your Bible open to hear from God. I don't care how far go you think you are what you noted, God is still pursuing you he wants you back in relationship with him back on mission for him back to his call. Moses was 80 years old will and if it wasn't too late for him. So Moses returned to Egypt with a simple message but his message is exactly what we need today.

Exodus 5 verse one says afterward Moses and Aaron went and said to Pharaoh thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness. Notice that God wants to deliver his people from the bondage of slavery, but their freedom didn't stop there.

Their freedom didn't stop there.

He freed them so they can do what worship him this piece to him in the wilderness is a way of worshiping God to listen our freedom should always lead us to worship to write this down. This is very important. God desires not just free us from the sump screen is either free us to someone for God's ultimate answer to all the brokenness all the pain all the suffering. All the disappointment RC is whatever has bound us is actually himself is to worship him.

He wants to free them from their slavery to worship him. CC said but a lot of people have reduced Christianity is just get out a hill free card when no no is much more than that, you miss out on the richest part of Christianity. If you just seek salvation of the things that have you bound, you miss out on seeking the Savior. He's a person he's Jesus that's really designed to be in a relationship with you and make no mistake know he does not want to leave you in the middle of your brokenness in your bondage on this planet know but church listen the best way for you to navigate through what is ahead of you know suffering or pain. Your sin is to be a relationship with the God of the universe.

Let's get back to the store. God tells Moses to relay this plan now to his people demoted had objections, God proved himself okay but now he has to tell this to the people to the people. Clouds are the pay very close attention to what God says what the people think about what God says. Exodus 6 this is the safest thing. Verse six say, therefore, to the people of Israel and home.

The Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians and I will deliver you from the slavery from slavery to them and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm with great acts of judgment. I will take you to be my people will be your God and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who was brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I will give you for a position. I am the Lord. How many times did you hear him. I will let you know who is doing this, who is in charge who is gonna execute this plan to rescue them from their suffering and their sin is God, but look at verse nine Moses spoke the best to the people of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses. Why, because of the of their broken spirit and harsh slavery from gossiping some of you here today who spirit is broken and the harshness. What has you bound is round out the spirit of God is round out his word is even cause you not to want to listen to the people that God is sent into your life to convey his plan. This is where they are and I want to hear what God has to say and this person. I got sent them their way to his plan now is not honest in our hearts. If an event does not give family personally developing the pastors we don't know everything that everything is rosy.

Mary we stand up here no real sinners saved by grace we all deal with things we have families of the messed up. We have issues that are going on now and I promise I felt like in 2015 even hit a beginner the 20 16th seems like all not having is been breaking out against my family and is very very special and harsh. It has a way I don't care who you are. It has a way to make you see God's plan differently.

So instead of believing in God's dominion, given my situation and that was hard for me to believe it is already in his room and is in control and I was really aware what's going on right now in my situation. So instead of drawing closer to him, but you begin the comment did not express his relevance in your life so you, slowly start reading God's word is love letter to you. You cannot slowly begin not to pray anymore, you can start doing time of God's own. It is the burden to me this is a waste of time. I don't see the results come from this. And instead of trusting what he promised.

Because this is where they are listed they know I Abraham, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob wanted me the Goss water development to bring you out this promise not giving you thought I promised back in Genesis where there like no no no no no you and your promising this, but my son is Pharaoh's kill my son. What about that promise.

God is not my son is there right now some of us here are alike and spiritual life.

Lord, you said to raise the sound up with ways to go in a war Department right now they departed right now to go wet when one of my to do with amounts to. We start to ignore these promises that God has for us when he speaks, here's blah blah blah blah blah blah.

I hear this promise is not treated promise like junk mail junk mail you get you get you some mail. It has a name Christopher Lamont three $2000 on I got in the mail.

Of course I will throw it in a trance, rip it up and get rid of that wife because nobody believes that it would treat God's word the same way is not junk mail. We don't have that kind of guy. He does not put your name on the promise that he can keep. That's why God says in verse six to them and this will come back to make light.

He says I am the Lord, stop right there. Either listen we can leave here right now.

If you believe that if you believe that he is Lord. I can close up when I'm speaking and walled off stage because that is one of the most powerful things ever believe as a Christian. That's why he starts there. You believe that some church you believe he is Lord over what is making you go through your pain in your suffering is why verse seven he says you shall know that I am the Lord your God, he desperately desires us to know him.

That's why he says joy would be your God will make this thing personal. I would be right there in the midst of your family yes on relevant, that's why verse eight he says I will bring you out of the land that I will you better pay careful attention when God swears something because there's something that God can't do. He can't lie. He's a promise keeper. So guess what. If you have a problem that gets in the way of his promise. Guess what had happened to your problem. It has to go church. We don't have a God was an active member negligent will serve a God was afraid to do the impossible in our lives to get to know continue to trust him stand on his promises.

Now the God is dealt with Moses objections to the people's objections they still believe him so he says listen, I'm going to show you. I want to show you who I am and I'm in control and I and I am your God through it from judgment and salvation.

For now we get to the point in Exodus chapters 7 through 12 we see these 10 plagues to come out. So God demonstrates this through blood and the knowledge they candidate about his water and blood everywhere and falls all over the place on the day of snacks and in the in the next ghetto steroids may turn the flies and enter the death of cattle in NDC both breaking out inhale comes down and destroys everything all this is evidence of Egypt locus command. They eat everything to the hilt and destroy the darkness comes down for three days. You can see what there for you for three days. All this happens to the Egyptians, God is trying to give them space to repent and early on in chapter 12,000 listen you seen all these things happen to the Egyptians, but there's something I need you to do Israel yes repressed but is something I want you to do. He says I want you to find an unblemished that means, with no defects, little one-year-old lamb innocent little John llama what you take that lamb what you bring into your home.

I want you to kill it. I want you to eat it. Know what you take his blood and place it over the door post of your home. In Exodus 12. Exodus 12 verse 12 Gossett. This is one of the follow pass through the land of ease up that night and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast and all all the gods a little Jeep of Egypt I will execute judgment, because I am the Lord, the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are and when I see what is EC when I see the blood, I will pass over you and no play will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt to the stiff leg is not just an indictment on the Egyptians, is for the Israelites as well to this template is not just for the old compressor. It is also for the oppressed.

Why because the destroyer death is coming for the oppressor and the oppressed is news to some of you here today is news for us not to remember this is very important that death is coming for all of us and there is a problem that we have because we all have seen and fallen short of the glory of God. We are all upon nature objects of God's wrath deserving is just wrath. But this coincidentally is also what makes God a good judge not guilty go free. He doesn't let the guilty go free.

Listen, that there would be pandemonium right now all the judges in America decide to let everyone they've imprisoned go free. What we would consider them to be good judge that all of that on is what RC Sproul says it like this. This is a God who doesn't righteously and angrily punish sin is an idol of our making, not the God of the Bible. So even though Israel was protected from the first non-plagues and yes they were being oppressed yesterday with yesterday. This was wrong on the Egyptians part their guilt is still obvious because God is requiring that an innocent unblemished lamb has to die for their sin. Listen church for any sin no matter how great or how small. Someone has to pay someone has to pay and that someone for us was Jesus. Jesus in our place an innocent without sin, perfect live the life that we could live without a death that we couldn't bow our substitute is lamb in Exodus chapter 12 gave us temporary salvation but Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world gives us eternal salvation now know about you but that's good news. That's good news that's the gospel.

But make no mistake in verse 13. Make no mistake, what was it that God saw it was the blood that God saw not the people. It wasn't how much money they had. It wasn't the kind of break plans. They had wasn't all the good works they've done. It wasn't the education it wasn't demo morals.

It was nothing but the blood that's why identity outside of Christ is not just unwise is fatal. So what does God see over the doleful doorpost of your heart is easy. You see his son's blood, but at midnight and midnight, wherefrom we say lay in the midnight hour God turn the situation around, God struck down all the firstborn in Egypt. Both humans and animals.

That was not a house in Egypt without someone day, unless the blood was at the door and it was Dean right there at midnight, that Pharaoh finally let God's people go from their bondage. But God wasn't just rescuing them from some bad thing. He freed them to experience something even greater in this his presence worshiping someone a spin off on a few minutes unpacking what God was accomplishing through the Passover to hear two things that God rescues us from and into first. God rescues us from slavery to freedom, listen the Israelites were conscious of their physical bondage when they were aloof to even deeper slavery that God would deal with later on in the wilderness try to take them out of the slavery through the wilderness to the promised land.

Today thought their greatest problem with the oppression of the Egyptians, but God knew the greatest problem was in their hearts see the Israelites was was supposed to spin 40 G 40 days in the wilderness, but that 40 days quickly turn into 40 years. Why, because what took one day he freed them from slavery took an entire generation to free them from their idolatry. So if you're reading with us right now in the Bible reading plan, wherein the book of Leviticus and injury. Leviticus are far like what in the world.

All these laws and all these rules and requirements what is going on.

What is what is God trying to do.

God is trying to now. While these people are in the wilderness. He is trying to help them be into his presence.

He is trying to encourage seeking after them, but they don't know how far away they are here to show them review them their sins was separating them, and he's constantly pursuing none of us here are slaves in the literal sense we all wrestle with items that try to control us is why a second Peter 219, 20, says that anything that controls a man he's a slave to two. How do you know if you are slave you don't have control, but doubtless to power a search through his word and through his Spirit to master what is been mastering us never forget that God told Cain came the first murderer that we see in the Bible.

He says something amazing became his face changes something that is crouching at your door as my crouching is repression right at the something is crouching at your door's sin is crouching at your door and I know you're jealous and I know you want to kill your brother Lisa but you must rule over it. You must master it gases this now will give you the power to master what is trying to Matthew.

You can be a slave to my righteousness is that of slaves to sin to Jesus not just trying to move us from being bad.

Not from sinful to sin last few thinking they people making them a lot of effective simple people and gifting us his righteousness in his friends. These staffing people from the evil one to the family of God. He loved to free slaves. Galatians 5 verse one. This is for freedom Christ set us free.

So, stand firm is not submitted into the yoke of slavery.

South freedom is not to do whatever we want our freedom is do whatever he wants and if you ever been backed out of the search has been made very clear for baptism as we asked two questions – do you believe that Jesus has done everything in his ability, not our ability, but in his ability to save you. And if you believe that you believe that he is Lord of everything that means you're willing to do whatever he tells you to do and go wherever children go to Jesus save us from our sin. Any any image awfully gives us the ability to serve God and serve others that mission of our church to love God, to love each other about our world right down the second and final thought, God rescues us from despair to hope to hope. What is despair.

Despair is the complete loss or absence of hope.

Jesus wants to move us from hope lesson is the hopefulness.

Some of you are saying you know Chris right now. I heard a story. Guess they got risky right and I'm still going through some stuff right now I don't see my wrist right now and is because we do not have any hope you think that what you're going through is meaningless you think it is without purpose. You say why should I hope not. Tell your story. On a lighter note, have you ever try to convince a hopeless teenager about something that this imitative Pringle funny story about my nephew many years ago my my nephew either side to give us his thesis on why he suffers to take a bath okay teenage boy class. This is this is actually the word came out of his mouth. He said will understand wanting to take a bath and will get right back dirty again. Okay, now his mind and made a whole lot of sense without looking at him were saying this might seem tedious importance to you, but trust me, son. You need to keep watching you keep putting on deodorant need to wash all resolved in your son Poisson resolve, you keep doing that because one knows will be a blessing you initially will bless those that are around our and all the parents in middle school teacher said a man heart value now spoken to many of you who are in the middle of suffering and you may feel alone, but which are not alone on signature not alone may seem meaningless.

It may seem pointless, it may seem like it has no purpose at all. But God is doing something you need to keep praying. Need to keep believing need to keep trusting need to keep knowing that he's with you and maybe think about. Another instance where me and my wife were on a date night. We had just gone through something very very painful in our family and resist Tronic getaway after time together on our way home. On the way home. A young lady zooms past me, throws her finger up at me cursing person me out and on my I'll even wear in the world. It is not from what is happening right now. She states she schools around is really fast in these soils on break I might this woman have a death wish. She slams on break it enough within a bumper and one above her. She jumped out of the car and all my all my goodness, what is getting ready to happen. What is get ready go down in Outlook and my wives already out, there were low, you know, and is goes down the fuzzing and the malevolent.

What are you doing this is crazy. Within a few moments in this it is crazy conversation.

This girl begins to break down. She talks about how rough her days being how she's worked 24 hours. Now she's about to go home to this boyfriend that is beating on her and she's crying and my wife lays her hands on his young lady begins to pray, pray for this young lady in the middle-of-the-road gel to listen. Listen, you never know what people are going through what they do not know that they need hope he wants to bless us church. He wants to bless those around you even through your suffering, you're going through something that people in order. Suddenly, God will sustain you people even know there is a God he cares, he will hear your cry.

He will bring you out of your mind.

Is he will heal you. He will not bottle Islamicists because there is hope. We have a hope that goes beyond this world without hope is in the resurrection I hope is in a person named Jesus.

We have a Savior that overcame our true worst enemies. See and when you have this, hope, let me tell you something right now he will not waste one ounce of your suffering just suffered is not in vain. Church it may seem meaningless. It may seem pointless but God has a purpose and is working together for your good. Just give us fire insurance he gave us Blessed assurance. This give you protection he gave you a person give you rest you he gave you freedom. This give you salvation. He gave you a Savior kidneys bought an idea more than a more standard level to please a person football a Savior to embrace that office IQ is a high priest that is not unable to sympathize with your weaknesses because he's facing the fight you but was without it. Therefore, you can approach the throne of grace with Paul that the count of God that we serve to write that the Passover lamb the Passover lamb $, but is also our sustenance. How is going to help us throughout despair positively give us hope this this Passover lamb next to the 12 with the sound of deliverance, but he also was a meal using Chris that sounds very crude. Yes, but the lamb's blood save him, but his body also provided the nourishment they needed on the journey to improve the wilderness. Jesus is not just the Lamb of God is also the bread of life he rescues us from our sins to himself and then he sustains us, as he sends us out.

You know, while Paul said in Philippians that I can do all things through Christ. This renders me know why because he was shipwrecked but he didn't drown. He was breathing a leftward day but he didn't die, didn't have a home we had a place to stay didn't have anything to eat, but he still found a way not to stall was tormented by a messenger from Satan himself. But God sustained him. God gave him strength through everything that he was going through all the suffering he can do all things through Christ someone encouraging today don't you know God saves you and he will keep no matter how deep the scene.

No matter how deep the suffering he will sustain your safe and all the Almighty same to pray with father. First I want to pray for those that stand here today and they're ready to come ready to come to you there ready to take the blood lamb place it over the doorpost of their hearts there ready to be embraced by you there ready to be rescued from the suffering rescued from their same enough regarding what exception begin this journey with you, but also want to pray for my brothers and my sisters know you, but because of the hardships that they face a loss of God. Remind them that your grace is sufficient to give them more than what they need and that you've given them your body of Christ. The whole demo during this time that we think you will be on and we appreciate your resting. Remember, which is done in the mighty name to reframe name
