Psalm 34: Facing & Erasing Fear, Part 1

Listeners welcome to the sound of faith. I'm sure not joining us today because we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Our message today is from Psalm 34. If you've ever faced a strong spirit of fear you are not alone. I certainly had and recently a medical crisis has put me face-to-face with your but David gave us a powerful example of how the wood victory over distress and despair and fear. They can spawn. But in order to appreciate how dire his situation was when he wrote Psalm 34. We must do a little digging into the back story of the catalyst for Psalm 34 in facing any racing fear not love. Lord knows I needed this morning. Amen. I hope you got Bill over so before I get into the message today from Lynn on the inside because the power of God was so strong and I am the Lord knows I need because this is really been a trying week for me a very trying week I told you before that I was going to the Maryland proton center which I did go there Tuesday, but they told me that I was not a candidate for that type of targeted radiation said that I would have to get conventional radiation that is like 5 to 7 weeks every day Monday through Friday.

Anyway they told me that and that was exactly what I want to hear, but they did tell me that they would give me a second opinion oncologist about the chemo and so I see that person or persons whomever they may be at the University of Maryland this Tuesday morning and I really need this to be a fleece that the Lord shows me something.

Amen.

Because I need to know what he wants me to do and the way I'm looking at right now. Another words if he wants me to go that medical group. He needs to make it clear unless it clearly says go this route, I'm going the other route you understand what I'm saying. I'm not saying you gotta tell me to go this route, I'm already going that route, so I need. If he says no this is my plan for you and I need to know that clearly, so please be in prayer for me and I had a very tough week. I had such heaviness on the Wednesday and Thursday. I thought to myself there's no way I can preach Sunday morning. I can't even think straight and get a message together and so was so burden Thursday that about 230 in the afternoon I could take it no more. I just in my living room not cried out to God and cried out to God that I need your help and so about 3 o'clock I went and laid down. Watch the 700 club, which I I like to watch them at three and only a few minutes in the phone rang and it was Jamie Lasch was the hostess of Jewish jewels program. She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and she called me and she says Sharon you have been so heavy on my heart. I thought I will call you and I said I thank you for obeying the spirit of God into this woman is very busy. You can understand. She's very busy. We'll talk all the time. I went and lead you to think that we just all the God we go. It's like it. Strategic points and she called me and so she ministered to me and it really uplifted me and so you know it. I felt that heaviness lead and then Friday I came to church and on the way home from church.

We got stuck in the light when you stop for the red light at Holland's very and Annapolis Road where Taco Bell is and was sit there at the red light and I'm just looking around, you know, just looking around and look around for a few minutes before I actually stopped to look at the car in front of me and when I look at the car in front of me the license plate said something now let me throw this out there very quick backup and say I knew that I didn't have time to come up with a new message.

My mind is just so distracted, so I get out my box and note something eating regime hiding in the day. I like this one.

Psalm 27 got the good one up. Psalm 34 that's good. Any meeting monument which went on and I worked on this one for a while now. I think that I think that some were sitting at this red light that is my witness were sitting at the red light and also not just have a look at the car in front of a white sedan, and I'm not exaggerating the license plate said PS LM 34 and I did a double take breaks on the day.

Chapter 22 verse one. David therefore departed thence an escape to the cave. Dylan and when his brethren, and all his father's house. They went down there to him. So what is happening here. We know the history of David and Saul. We know that David was hunted down like an animal by Saul who was he was really demonically paranoid, and he was so jealous of David and in his rage, he vowed to kill him.

And so we tried no less than 21 times to kill David.

David was forced to flee to the wilderness and that's what he had been doing running on the run from one place to another and he had about 600 and then you would come to join up with him and so they're running here there and everywhere now I will go in the details, but something it just happened that us by Saul's new word David whereabouts were went back to Saul and said exactly where David was. Now he's not only afraid of Saul, and Kellan and now he is afraid of his coming killing him and then he tell you something will drive you to do irrational things. Fear will drive you to do something.

I know what I'll do, I'll pretend like I'm insane and be fornicating.

He started slobbering foaming at the mouth.

Let the spit all go down and do his beard was born over to the doors and scratching a little bit banging ornament act like he was out of his mind like an insane person you talk about going low, you talk about thinking into such bear, you talk about fear doing a number on you. Amen David champion your slayer in the layer and now fear is so much because he thinks it Saul will give me a kiss, will they just don't kill me. Saul will so we thought if I pretend like I'm a madman and I'm insane. Amen. Maybe they'll have pity on me that just breaks my heart breaks my heart but I understand that I do because I know what fear can do to you. And so it worked. A kiss that guy out here. Obviously he's crazy and you bring in front of time to deal with here so they let him know they Solomon is harmless because obviously he's insane.

And what does he do. He runs and hides in the cave of the Dolan indicate how many know what K is metaphorical for a very dark place where you're in despair where you're surrounded by darkness and you don't see a way out of your troubles now in a or let's say, the cave experience. I just told you about. David wrote to Psalms that are actually attributed to that time. Psalm 34 and Psalm 56 and we will concentrate on Psalm 34 and as we go through these verses. Keep in mind just how low David had sunk in despair and how great his fears really were and keep in mind also do not base physical enemies on a physical battlefield against armies but we do face these in a spiritual battlefield just as much is the enemy. David amen we had a battlefield in our hearts and in our minds that we do not overcome those enemies of fear. Amen. So keeping that in mind, let's now turn to Psalm 34, beginning with verse one. I will bless the Lord at all times in his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My cell shall make her boast in the Lord and the almost all here there and be glad by the Lord with me and exalt his name together.

Now we're all familiar with these because we hear them quoted a lot many ministers. That's the first thing that the prelude to their message it a big break the ice kind of thing in the pulpit by quoting these three verses, but they mean a lot more to us now. Don't think when we consider that he wrote them out of that experience that we just discussed. Amen.

Were thinking at all happy to let God, well he did that he didn't worship the Lord I'm going to bless the Lord at all times. I'm going I'm going to bless the business great distress misdeeds by fear, then the only thing to do fears and those destroying me is the key. Praising God continually keep raising regardless what I would dictate New Testament verses that confirm this. You turn there but you know that Wells Fargo spoke to you from Philippians the fourth chapter, verses six and seven be anxious for nothing and everything went with your request know God and the peace of God that shall keep things through Christ Jesus. Amen when you're anxious. That means you are facing fears and worries.

Amen that are coming again stupid. He said what you got to do in the mist of that situation with prayer and supplication of supplication is strong prayer. Amen. But don't forget on the envelope of prayer.

You must put a stamp and the stamp is with thanksgiving.

Amen. You're not thinking what you're going through your thinking and Kaiser in the cave of the Gollum.

And so we have to see that and there are many other verses but that's one of my favorite so he goes what is bless the Lord I'm in a prison continually and all shall make her boast in the Lord: God inspires your faith on your heart will also think in my opinion I think it also inspires God when you.I believe it is to move for you because the tell the truth if someone does not, then we really want to live up to it. Don't wait so that such a great job with this, and then you really want to do a good job and you know that's a smart thing for us to do about our children.

You are the best, whatever it may be that because you said he was so bloated that in an even harder is and so when we of God. Maybe what you're facing is huge.

Maybe what you're facing this life-and-death situation. Maybe what you're facing is so life-changing that you don't even know what your future may be, but by God, then Satan will be all. Amen. So here he is in this cave and he knows all and all his armies of Israel are trying to track down and find me looking for and now the only reason why you stayed in his army does not like he was a crazy person but how long is not going to last somebody's going to get the news back just pretended that was a ruse. Good thing you did let them in. Amen.

So what I'm going to buy the Lord and I'm doing, and you don't mean this is huge.

They did not do by exalting his name and I mean specifically, I would say probably almost every morning without fail, when I worship the Lord in saying I always go through the Jehovah name, you know, we sing that song because of who you are, give you glory because of who you are, give you praise and then we say Jehovah Chara my provider. Jehovah see my victory in our thinking. We give you three Jehovah shalom your my Principe alive written quite a few more verses and then I keep going and I say Jehovah rock because you're my healer only because they need to know his name. I play not only the but the power and the authority and who he is in his name and when you start telling God you are Jehovah you put on that Annex, whichever one you want a man to rise to the occasion. Yes, he is because he's going to honor his name that's reversed for I the Lord and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears. They looked on him and reluctant and their faces were not ashamed. This man cry and the Lord can and sank him out of all his troubles, my God, this is powerful here.

Amen.

Okay, this is mean that David died when his nice church clothes and dancing shoes and went to the tabernacle and sought the Lord know in the cave of the Gollum in the cave where he was hiding out of many and diverse phobias that were played with his mind and his emotions in that cave. He said you know is strong, you know, it's past tense of CK med when you see something you know it it's not something that you will it's not something that's just the surface thing the Lord your God sharks. In fact, most the time when we really see it alone wherever we might be really God you were playing secret reward you openly.

Amen think that when you get the chance to correct that you may not 55. We will maybe call me while I get near you. You might be things you know not all the Lord I worshiped him. I praised him fear me and he delivered me up all my fears, the fear that had made him pretend to be insane. The fear that had to what the high but they are in that state of mind and in that condition. He did not give up and that's that's for you and that's for me. You can't ever, ever give up. Amen. You gotta keep crying out to God, you gotta keep seeking after the Lord. Amen. And he said he heard me, and he delivered me from all of my fears because that is the first enemy that must be faced. Fear must be faced first because it God just delivers you out of your situation and your trouble.

That spirit of fear will come back to you and try to talk you out of it. How many of you would never had the Lord touch to move for you do something for you devil comes and talk the talk around until you get anything nothing happened. You mentioned that you got something. Amen. So God had delivered him out of his fears first is the first to be any race that made any and through what David did. God delivered him amen because of the tell you folks fear will neutralize our faith you had faith you don't lose your faith God gave you good faith eating junk faith. He gave you good faith. Amen. You don't lose your faith. However, it can be rendered inefficient.

Amen.

It can be rendered inoperative because it's like fear neutralizes it. Amen. It's like fear paralyzes your face because the devil even like to get you don't have faith or you lost it when he tells you lost your faith.

You think you're a liar.

Right now nothing but a commenting that argue with you about that now.

My faith might need some work I need to hear similar word of the Lord, but I have faith and so you gotta get rid of the fear because faith is vital to victory. Now where the spirit come from fear comes from Satan doesn't come from God.

Fear does not come from.fear is the first negative emotion that man ever felt in the garden of Eden. Remember, after they sinned and they ran and hid.

Fear made them Ron and high and when God came walking in that gardening called out for them, and said where are you he said I was afraid it comes from Satan. Amen.

You know this is a hallmark verse that you know well so I will return their office quote for you. Second Timothy 174.

God has not given you a spirit of fear. So if it didn't come. It had come from the enemy has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and other law findings.

Amen.

Will try to put a double whammy on you when he comes with fear and tells you you're losing your mind you're losing your mind and all these emotions that are really startups of turmoils and hear emotionally and then waiting on top of that comes and tells you you're losing your mind, you want your like the way you want to see but you need to get this verse and say first of all, yes, give me a spirit of fear, and second of all, he's given me a sound mind and is giving me a mind of power in a mind of love and that is important because as I prayed for two weeks write to you walking in healing by walking in faith and love in all the verses that we went through one of the major ones we know is that it says that perfect love casts out fear and he that is full of fear. He that is afraid is not made perfect in love. He's doesn't have a mature love walk, how many know I preach that for two weeks because if your love walk is not mature and if your love walk is not where it's supposed to be your faith will because the legends five, six, seven, and faith works. Amen. So Satan will have success against us with what we are really wound and rooted in the legs.

God loves me in spite of what I'm going through and I will be the first to say I don't understand what I'm going through worldwide and going through it, but the point that may amen and it made me these things more than I can come against me so you have to work on your love in order for your faith to stand up against the spirit of fear that was first John 418 because as long as we had fear. What did he say in first John 418, four.

Fear has tormented don't you hate that word torment. It just conquers all kinds of things in your mind you know they don't have to hang you by your fingernails for you to be tormented. You now hold your hand in the fire. The torture you were torment you.

You can be so tormented in your soul in your heart in your mind in your life that you almost cannot function that comes from the spirit of fear, and if we do not get rid of that spirit of fear and fight against that spirit of fear we will be tormented. We will be tormented and will be double minded. And the devil will just have a field day with our thoughts and our minds.

Amen.

He'll be able to come and say what if what if any, no money comes with that. What walk through the door open at Dorsey was in that room is what if, on the door. Amen.

Job said the thing I greatly feared is come upon me. I was afraid. And the thing I greatly feared greatly feared. Now this tells me that Job had a problem with chronic fear. Amen. He obviously wrestled with the spirit of fear. Now we have to understand we we can't be too hard on Job because unlike us had the 66 books of the Bible and he didn't have all the faith. Preachers on television and all the CDs in the box and the teachings that them out there that we can avail ourselves to help us.

Amen Jeff didn't have any of that. Job is the first book written in the Bible that we have the realized he did not have what we have. And like I preach last week. He didn't have that feeling confident.
