Listeners welcome to the sound of faith for joining us today because we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Our message today is from Psalm 34.

If you've ever faced a strong spirit of fear you are not alone. I certainly had been recently a medical crisis has put me face-to-face with your but David gave us a powerful example of how the wood victory over distress and despair and fear. They can spawn. But in order to appreciate how dire his situation was when he wrote Psalm 34. We must do a little digging into the back story of the catalyst for Psalm 34 in facing any racing fear, though the work on your love in order for your to stand up against the spirit of fear that was first John 418 because as long as we have fear.

What did he say in first John 418 for fear had tormented that word torment conquers all kinds of things in your mind you know they don't have to hang you by your fingernails for you to be tormented. You now hold your hand in the fire.

The torture you were torment you.

You can be so tormented in your soul in your heart in your mind in your life that you almost cannot function that comes from the spirit of fear, and if we do not get rid of that spirit of fear and fight against that spirit of fear we will be tormented.

We will be tormented and will be double minded. And the devil will just have a field day with our thoughts and our minds. Amen. He'll be able to come and say what if what if and no money comes with that. What are open at Dorsey within that room is what if the door amen because all is suppositional conjecturing hypothetical. Amen. That does not charge my life. Not like the ring and I going in that door, but it so we have to know that we got to face any race that fear. Job said the thing I greatly feared is come upon me. I was afraid.

And the thing I greatly feared greatly feared. Now this tells me that Job had a problem with chronic fear.

Amen. He obviously wrestled with the spirit of fear. Now we have to understand we we can't be too hard on Job because unlike the 66 books of the Bible and he didn't have all the preachers on television and all the CDs in the box and the teachings that a limb out there that we can avail ourselves to help us. Amen. Joe didn't have any of that. Job is the first book written in the Bible so we have to realize he did not have what we have. And like I preached last week.

He didn't have that healing covenant.

Amen. And so we need to understand that so we can be too hard on him but the fact is, he said what I greatly feared is come upon me. So we have to claim what David claimant on Wednesday and in Psalm 34 but I do want to just quickly go to 5600 also wrote that from the cave, or about the cave I should say and read two verses 56 and verses three and four. Remember the same experience is what prompted him to write in verse three what time I am afraid I will trust in the in God.

I will praise his word in God. I have put my trust, I will not fear what flash can do unto me. So obviously that he was battling with fear. But he says when a friend because this is like human emotion and we all will face sometimes fear is for our benefit. Fear will keep us from doing something that may harm us. Amen. It's going to be afraid of rattlesnakes. Amen to be afraid of jumping off the pier. If you can't swim. So there are some fears that we teach our little ones and were trying to tell little Braden now because we have a pellet stove in our living room and it right now it's cold it's just cold not being used. So we are trying to teach him now only comes from there it's not but yet but it was a few weeks. Amen. Amen there are some fears that we have the protection they become that any tries to use, but David said what time I am afraid I will trust in the how many never been there. You are trying not to say the words I am afraid because you're trying not to make them grow and you don't want to magnify them and you want to give them life, but you know is that you are afraid, but that is when you say nevertheless I trust in you. I would pray and I like this verse, particularly because we've been exalting and magnifying the name of God in verse 34. But here he said I will praise his word.

The best antidote for fear is his word. His word amen I will praise his word. So somewhere in the midst of his soul searching and seeking God. He got a word from heaven he said I put my trust in God and I will not fear what flash can do to me.

We know that he meant that in the literal sense. We know he meant Saul and his armies. We know we met the Philistine armies but we can take that for our enemies. They may not be visible enemies on the battlefield. Amen. They make visible enemies on your job. They could be in your neighborhood. They could be in your family when they actually physically do harm. Amen these things do come up in our lives.

But even if that would not be the case we face the powers of darkness.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers the rollers of the darkness of the wickedness in the heavens. That's Ephesians 612. Amen.

So he says well I am afraid I'm going praise your word. I'm going to trust in you and I'm not to be afraid of man. So we send this poor man cry and the Lord heard him and delivered him out of all of his troubles. Poor man talking about his bank account, talking about how much money he started his wallet now has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the state. He was amen resources will find ways to bring about a victory over his enemies. He was out of resources 600 men that were hanging out there with him and they were very loyal to David and they were tough guys they were some would-be guys. They were rough and tough. But his condition a position simply pulled back the armies of Saul or the armies of the Philistine without divine intervention without supernatural help. Amen. I am poor I am at the end of my never been there at the end of your resources, you know, sometimes God allows us to get there on purpose because until we get there work on who can figure it out on the do it this way okay will not play that word about plan B or plan C. Amen. And so we will try again and again when we place where we have done all we can do. He said I cried first. He said I saw the Lord about my fears and now I just cry out to the Lord. It was not a cry of fear is not a delivered him from his fear. It was a cry of desperation. Lord, my eyes are on you.

I'm looking under the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer my foot to be moved.

He will watch over me. He doesn't slobber. He doesn't amen. He's going to protect me going out and coming it is sitting down and rising up. Amen. I'm looking Lord and when.

And this time God delivered him and saved him out of all his troubles troubles. Job said man born of a woman will see many troubles never had any trouble in your life. Amen. Oh yes were back in 34 obviously but jump down in verse 19.

You'll recognize this one right away. Many are the afflictions of the righteous. When the troubles of the righteous tribulations of the righteous trouble when we all three knew all the Savior overcome while you you will not be given to you my name with you know what bio do you like me trouble and neither let it be afraid. Amen. Quoting from John XIV chapter so you we will have troubles. We will have tribulations but there's no affliction there's no tribulation or trouble that God cannot handle and bring out so let's go back to verse seven.

This is one of the ways God chooses to do it. The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them the angel of the Lord encamps administered on this. Not too long ago, so it may seem like repetition but to keep the message and its continuity. I'll go through it again today encamps round about that literally means you are circled.

Amen its 360° north, south, east, west West East North now.

I don't care how you say it. Amen. You are encamps around about by the angel of the Lord. He's got you covered 360°.

Amen. Not to cover 24 seven. Doesn't matter what time of day or night it is.

It doesn't matter where you are. He's got you covered and you will not speaking up as those that fear the Lord. Now we had here a different kind of fear with and talk about the bad fear the fovea of the fear that Satan brings on us but this is a different fear and really, if we were going to write it today. In today's language, we would probably say those who have reverence. Those who have respect unto God. Those who revere him for who he is. You know, we can give you praise for who you are those who understand who God is, amen and were in fear of him because he's so awesome and so majestic he just wanted his angels, and actually let that Angel appear unto us, that we could actually see the angel we would probably turn the jumbo and the first thing Angel would say is fear not, I got a good word for you. Good news, so the thing is your human body. The fleshly body and it just does not respond to the great in every case the angel has to say in the Bible. Don't be afraid of, to give you good news of come to help you. Amen.

Imagine what it would be like if we actually got to see God. And we don't know that we would ever get to do that he would have to put some layers between us like he did Moses know this that I want to see your glory and not what you know Moses if I let you see my glory. You will turn into ashes and I'm not done with you yet still got a few things you gotta check off your bucket list out they will stick you in this clip the rock and I want to update my ovary while walking past the past few I'll let you see the back. Amen. And so we know that the probably not going to see God face to face, and that's why we have such fear of you can better work reverential fear because of who he is and so he said those you had that kind of reverence for God. They understand how mighty, how powerful, omnipotent and omniscient infinite. I mean, you know what we could go on all day. When they understand that amen those are the ones that he send his angels watch over them and let me tell you things like I told you before his angels are not wimpy me give you a few facts about God's angels. It's written quite a bit. David writes of them quite often. Psalm 103 20. He said that his angels excel in strength. That means that their strength is greater than the strength of Satan's angels excel in strength there stronger. They are excellent and that they actually are super abundantly above the enemy's forces and he said they hearken to the voice of his commands. When God commands them immediately. They obey. Amen.

And sometimes they rescue us in the nick of time. Just about at that intersection just another split second and you would've been known ahead on the angel of the Lord intervene and all you need was that split second to keep you out of that intersection at that exact time. Amen. And many many things that we are not even aware of.

We don't even know the times we been resting from danger, because God commanded his angels.

He said in Psalm 1044. He makes them a flaming and I brought this out before I remember specifically reading a story about these missionary preachers that had going down. I believe it was the Mexico and was somewhere down there but anyway they went to minister and they got pulled over by the stuff I don't know if they were the cartel the drugs they were criminals. Let's put it that way bad guys and I mean they were ready to kill them all because you know they say give me your money or your life. They say give me your money and your life. You know doesn't matter if you cooperate with some of these criminals in any way.

All of the sudden they just died in their vehicles and took off and left them alone and later on, the story came out somewhere that they saw these which they did know they were angels, but they saw these huge, huge, giant men that had flaming swords and they took off.

Amen. So God makes his angels. Sometimes a flaming fire and were told in Psalm 91, which we all know well he gives his angels charge over us. When you charge somebody that is their assignment. I am now sending you for the to do this particular thing doesn't make you feel good angels on assignment to write something about that angels on assignment. I already know about the angels in the bushes, you know, the messages were operates where all the sudden jump. God sent and bushman's against the enemy and killed them all. My definition is not really you know the Bible is not in the dictionary, but my definition is angels in the bushes angels on assignment. He says this is your to watch over and watch over 13. You can put your name in there and he gives them charge decay away sharply against the stone and were told and he was the first Reverse seven verse 14 he sends them forth as ministries to the heirs of salvation. That's me anybody you and God. Angels specifically intervene on your behalf.

And as I said there, not wimpy. They think about just one. One of God's angels. We don't know his name were not given his name. He's not Gabriel he's not Michael he's not one of those archangels that we know the name of but this one Angel was so powerful he slew 185,000 men at one time army of 185,000 cannot tell you about it.

I'm not can have you read because it would take too long, so I'll paraphrase it this within the time of the reign of King Hezekiah was king over Judah and he was one of the good kings very good King and so during his reign.

There was the king of Assyria who was also always one of Israel's main enemies. And at this particular time visiting with the neck or read and this this guy was really an egoist. He was full of himself and he did intellectually go marching through countries and destroying people and when he would go in their countries. He would get their gods and you know what I mean the idols. The statues made out of wood or stone and thrown in the fire and laugh and say that I didn't say need can save you out of hand.

You know who I'm on King's the neck or about theory and no can deliver out of my hand and you know what up into that point it was true. It was actually true. Amen. So he writes a letter the neck. Karen writes a letter and spells out in detail.

I'm coming to Jerusalem. And when I get there I'm going to do in Jerusalem would have done everywhere else I've been I'm going to destroy everything. And your God is not able to deliver you out of my and he taught them he threatened them in his letter into thinking that Jehovah can deliver you when people are full of pride in boasting they just get bigger and bigger and their words get more dangerous and more dangerous. Let him go hang themselves.

Folks said the Marfan problem i.e. did they deliver their people out of my hand. Well, no, not know.

Actually, they didn't. He said the lands delivered their people and lands out of my hands. So he was had this all written down, but he actually spoke it to the servants of Hezekiah that he was going to give the letter to say now you take this to your king and they answered him not a word. They just stood there and listen to them. They didn't give an answer at all. They took the letter they went back to their king Hezekiah and they read it to him and when Hezekiah heard those words. He went off his robes he puts calls in the ashes on his head and he went into the house of the Lord. He did not say how God worked on the floor where we going to do now we are in big trouble is called in the ashes was not to show defeat.

It was the show humility was doing that showing Lord on way down here hello I'm humbling myself before you because I cannot save my people, my armies cannot deliver the people out of the hand of the neck rib and his armies. Amen. Anyway, to play and he said no assignments and find the proper God to lie and to using did not down. It was Mary Gray times the Nicorette made. They were true, but he sent for the prophet of God, and they went and told Isaiah everything that's the neck rib had said and when they did Isaiah said answer back to Hezekiah and the first thing he said was being paid all the way you were to do is raise your these words is time understanding that it's true.

All of that and all of those God ended up in the fire. Amen. He said speaking now for the first person in God, be not afraid Minnelli speaking for God.

I will blast 1010 God will enemy not getting to think about what well I'm going to the Army and Army all get in line and don't be afraid to march around seven times blow prompted for seven days that he stood up and said, your God, Jehovah cannot deliver. You will be just like all the other… Would fire God said I will blast him.that he's going to hear a rumor and when he hears a rumor making the whole because at that time the neck rib was in the middle of destroying another country is like the middle that he was sending work when I'm done here on coming for you.that he will hear a rumor and when he hears that rumor. He will go home and when he goes home he will fall by the sword in his own land. So God said to Hezekiah this may know the enemy is relentless.

You need to understand this, the enemy is relentless. Do you know the neck rib sent messengers a second time to repeat his taunts and threats again a second time and this time he added six more. Amen. Six more nation do it and he repeated it. Shall you be sure God will deliver all the 9040 added six more and said there God didn't help them in your God's not can help you. But what Hezekiah did next. I love it. It's so remarkable. He took that letter he already got a work from Isaiah Isaiah Isaiah gave them the word of the Lord. So now would think that would been the end of it all. But notice the neck rib comes with the letter writing all over again. Hezekiah takes that letter goes back into the house of the Lord and lays it down and says, Lord, you thought me to answer this letter on all this weight that came from God.

We can't do it not God… Utterly destroyed all the nations even dated alleycat there God to the fire likely. And you know it's true not because they were God's way. The reason why we did is because they want.name and then to be a God gave him a name. He was able to throw them in the fire, but you are the living God, and he has reproached you, the living God. And then he said now. Oh Lord our God, Jehovah saved us from his hand that all the kings kingdoms of the earth may know that you are God alone and when we got back home and you know when he got back home. You know what happened to Don's solution with the sword just like God said in your own land. It will happen. Amen. So what Hezekiah did is what we have to do and you know you might find it surprising that David is not the only person who wrote the Psalms.

He wrote the majority of the Psalm, but he's not the only psalmist Moses wrote Psalm 80 staff wrote some and Hezekiah wrote Psalm now there's one sound that optically want to finish two verses in Psalm 112 if you want to you can turn there you you will like it when we get there. It concludes what we just learned there is no author does not say who wrote the Psalm and Bible scholars are not sure who wrote it, but I want to just suppose that Hezekiah may have written Psalm 112 and I want to look at verse seven and eight shall not grade of evil tidings is his next trusting in the Lord his heart is established you shall not be afraid until he sees his desire upon his enemies if he didn't write still is a good commentary.

No calm, and when the strong wind up one place so powerful it might it's a mighty powerful anointing.

I want you to close your eyes now just pray in the spirit. I need to get the mind of the Lord here I need the mind of the Lord. Amen.

Lord I do want me to do this.

Amen.

I carried a heavy anointing. It still only very powerfully but if I call prayer line to pray for all of you I'm I push myself past the threshold, amen. And God doesn't mean my hand is not be my hand on you for you to receive this anointing.

I believe God wants to do it this morning. I believe he wants to touch every sick body, so I want all of you that have sickness in your body. I want you right now to put your hand where that sickness is where ever the sicknesses. If you can. If you can't then you just put your hand on your heart. Amen.

And were going to ask God to just penetrate you with the healing power of Jesus Christ. If you are facing something else in your life could be a legal matter a financial matter. A marital matter. Something to do with your family, whatever it might be. Amen.

Maybe the enemy does war against your mind. Maybe your very controlling person and you're always trying to be a step ahead of God. You're always talking to somebody you're always trying to figure it out. You always… That the work this is what I'm doing next.

And this is your is your ML. This is how you operate. And this is how you been operating. And God says I want you to let it go and trust me bring the reports to me.

Bring the situation to me.

Tell me.this mail for you bring it to the Lord and say now, Lord you heard what the enemy has said and you have even seen what he had done in other situations, but I'm looking to you my trust is in you my trust is in you, you know many people give me all these many stories and it really I do not know what's wrong with people when they would tell me all the stories about all these people that died, thinking why are you telling me that I don't need to hear about people that died. I need to hear about people because I know where they were with God for their faith in God and their faith walk with the Lord. The Lord did not mean what is, we gotta give it to the Lord and say look, you gonna do about it what you want to do, Lord were good. Hope that you are you going to do that on the right. Jesus dying while not on the rate the Lord and thank you for the victory if you give enough to use your name by which we did.

We will bring the Lord during the men I hope you're uplifted by this message. Psalm 34 facing the racing fear you know I preach this in the midst of my own medical crisis of breast cancer diagnosis.

The warfare and anxiety that accompany this type of life event is great. I found out it's one thing to preach faith in the pulpit. It's another thing to walk it out when you were in the fiery trial of faith and facing fear when I read Psalm 34 I heard a man who was in great distress. So much so he actually pretended to be insane so eight. Kish, the king of Gath would give them refuge from King Saul, who was hunting him down to kill him.

Imagine David the giant killer having to flee his to his worst enemies the Philistines and to Gath, Goliath's hometown. You talk about a low place, but in that cave of despair beset by fear. David called upon the Lord and God delivered him from his fears. Then he cried again, and God delivered him out of his troubles because fear must be faced first and David showed us how in Psalm 34 to order.
