When God Turns it Around, Part 3

Welcome to the sound of faith. I'm sure not thanking you for joining us today because we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If you like stories where God takes a series of misfortunes and satanic attacks against his children, and boomerangs them on the devil then you're going to like today's message when God turns it around. Paul had an irrepressible desire to go to Rome and in part to the Christians there a spiritual gift, but it took two years to prison terms to cruises one shipwreck with an island vacation before he got there when God turned it around so he didn't get upset I tell you what I think of a lot of preachers today.

They can go first class dangling they got had everything to be first class you know somebody roll out the red carpet semi club like the sweat of their brow on the same hung in there with with apostle Paul made it these things don't bother me through these things before I preach the gospel. We went back to the Scripture that we preach the gospel. Nine. Preach the gospel to give testimony on the gospel of grace, the gospel of grace and that only means grace for the sinner that he can, but that means grace for the Christian right who is in the way you feel weary and tired and weak.

I can tell you something because not been there because one of the other few things God ever spent personally that he played was when he said that the flash now know how would you like to get away, but grace is sufficient for you to give you the grace that you need things like places to learn the hard way when we are Bibles and preaching in like a good things together provide good because some places that God will bring you up when you're sick and you can't do it. You're not strong enough to wake you can get. He was going to Rome and he was going to preach he was going to preach around no matter what I truly believe that by this time the devil had gotten a revelation and he didn't want Paul to go to Rome.

I think by now, the devil did not want him to go to Rome and he realized Paul was above all the trials and all the stuff he was slinging those things. He realizes man is going to make and I think the devil wanted to stop him, because he knew that when gospel reached Rome when when the news came and Paul began to preach boldly amongst the brethren. He knew there was going to be an explosion in Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire I needed was filled with poor people, rich people, slaves, slaveowners, patricians it was it was glad to gators. I mean, you name it.

There was every type of people from the highborn to the lowest was in Rome and I don't think the devil wanted him to get there because he knew that when he got there was going to preach such a gospel. It was going to explode throughout the Empire and said I believe that that's why the next thing happened with the next thing it happened all of you who read all of acts shipwreck so will paraphrase how many read it so you know what happened. They got on this boat with all of these other prisoners and they went so far and Paul tried to reason with them. He said you're making a mistake.

You really shouldn't try to make it all the way and try to make it all the way over the winter. He said it's too treacherous this boat, the Queen Mary may lead me to believe it was a kinda rickety boat because he said it's not going to make it and you would be wise to listen to me and not press on, but they wouldn't listen and they pressed on.

Anyway, here's something important. I'm trying to paraphrase for the sake of time it Scripture says that they didn't listen to them and they went. They went on there they sailed and said that the winds were favorable and the winds blew softly think about that then go because it's not to be good. Were going to get in trouble. They said care what you say and they went. And guess what, it was favorable. The soft winds were blowing favorably. You see, when the Holy Ghost gives you all were and gives you a warning and you don't listen to it and you think you know better and you could listen to the other side. Everything looks like it going you. Looks like it's favorable the right choice, but just keep reading because it said and she was waiting on and turn against us and was like a nor'easter. How many I'm up and asking how many of the movie, although it's on cable TV and all that stuff but I know the movie the perfect storm okay is those famous nor'easter's that we get in.

That happened to be the perfect one perfect and everything bad that could happen come together did what that was. What are your Iraq. Lindon was like they were going along with the software blowing softly and they probably were basking in and all of a sudden you're came to Yurok Lindon and here they were now in this tempestuous storm. The storm went on and on in one day in the night night of the day today after while they did note that was day or night because they can see this on or the start they didn't know what time of day it was. They got to the point they were throwing everything overboard trying to save their lives. They stop eating their food. They knew they were going to perish.

They knew they were going to die and if you read on the Scripture said and they came to the place where they had that they should be saying that I hope they did not hope that they would be rescued. They had given up all hope and about that time, here comes that little Jewish rabbi. He gets up on the deck and he says) something. It was the same thing the Lord had said to him in that prison. Over two years ago when he was being held with stripes on his back and they were going to kill him, and everybody was trying to get rid of them and alert himself, not an angel but the Lord himself came up and what you think. Paul said those men on that boat brethren stood and he will be lost. Not one Bob Brown will happen this bottom guilt.not round and I'm going to go there on a piece of driftwood on the Rome case and he said now you listen to me. But you know they were stupid get me to jump overboard like he did last time. Paul told the captain he said if you don't keep those God told me they got a stay in the boat. If you don't keep all in this boat and we will not make it through life away stated in the way to get off the boat to keep them from escaping. And then you know the story you know how that the boat crashed, and they were all in the water and you know how that that the prisoner they thought the prisoners were going to get away but they did and what happened, how many men were on that.

How many men anybody know 276 men. What do you think the likelihood of 276 men were in that boat when it crashes and that tempestuous storm on the rocks of every one of them being saved now doesn't say anything in here, but there had to be some sort of the agreement where they took the shackles and handcuffs off those prisoners think about that Luke doesn't tell all the details he tells a lot, but I'm going to swim for it must now listen to me you got the shackles and The public that is no way on taking them out because I can't do that because if they escape then I would have to give my part was going to say they escape the 70s with a chance to swim for.

I think that's what he said I don't know like that: three. Did what they had to take him off every last one of them made it safely safely to shore. How many say men because God said that he would turn it around, they all made it safely to shore when God sent an angel to come to Paul and encourage him and say call the ships going down but nobody is going to be lost in the mall. Why didn't God just let the angel rescue that angels can do that kind of stuff you know there equipped for that. They're trained for that kind of thing your training for rescue mission why the mall I do like Jesus did stand up and say we still and then the winds died down. This is identical or that the mayor I need when like going insane them all thrown in the water and swim.

I mean now the people when God comes and give you a promising a word of encouragement or Scripture. He ate it quick and something to your spirit that you will is God telling you.

Hang in there. I got an undercover I got it working out you don't see this working and you're expecting it to work out and dad. All this happens and you say Lord I really appreciate that were I appreciate that prophecy. I appreciate that Scripture but why did you just fix it telling me you're going to because God is always God. Another adventure up his sleeve and God had a divine appointment on the legal because God knew that that was an island of barbarians people that didn't know the first thing about Jesus and nobody else was going to come and hold the tent revival. There else was coming to town. They have an arena stadium. They have nothing and not of the big preachers had a meeting set up for them. But God cared about them just like Jesus cared about that one man Legion on the on the shores of the Dara and he was gone that God loves revival on nothing that God loves more than to get a bunch of people together from all backgrounds from all different places one place, preaching and teaching call that Hailey, my God, that's what you call cat meeting and God a cat meeting on the Alito and when they got there they were so friendly they began to get things to put on and they began to try to get a fire going and you like to help someone because he was one of those preachers where you got away do everything for him to do stuff for himself, what thank you anyway and when he reached out to get that no snake and shake them off why God just won't let Paul get a break. I survived the shipwreck and the snakebite and upon reading this and they said this man must be the worst of all criminals because he had somehow let him so that he didn't surround but now he's going to get his just desserts that he's going to die by the snakebite, but after that he was perfectly fine.

There was nothing wrong with them. They said you might. He's not a criminal. Obviously he's a God and I know you didn't tell me but I just know that that was Paul's opportunity to state outright and not a God. But I'm here, God is the one that is the one that can do here awake Bible healed me. My God is a healing and he said he yes my God can heal your God gives you absolutely think Archie is very surely well would you go pray. I surely will Paul when he prayed for the chief of the island got healed when he got healed. I got six of them everywhere, coming from the north. The ground just went through praying for people to heal and say they were having read the Bible because God sent out to the shipwreck target around from already sent you all. So next time you find yourself in a place that you don't understand what why God's got you there what you're doing.

There is a gripe and complain and have a pity party wanted to turn around and start looking for. There must be an opportunity somewhere for me to minister God must have somebody wants me to go to. There must be a situation here that God has sent me to interview me and to turn it around because God wanted to take that and make it a divine appointment that God could intervene and bring those people to Christ. I want you to use your imagination. I want you to imagine when they got to Rome three months later. I want you to imagine. By that time how big the testimony had grown. I want you to imagine in your mind. First of all, the captain of the ship Romans were sticklers for protocol there would be a thorough investigation within all kinds, investigations, and they would've had a hearing you know whenever we have airplane record shipwreck, a subdirectory know they got to go through all the questioning all the people what happened and can you imagine the testimony when the captain of that ship when he had explained to Dan the miracles of the supernatural divine intervention when he had to explain to Dan that this crazy little Jewish rabbi preached about this Jesus Christ, whom they all knew the Pontius Pilate had crucified and dead was dead and he said he know he's alive when they begin the key ring and all these bizarre all of these target bats and turnarounds and in the captain of the prisoners he would had to go to his superior and filed his report. Can you imagine when he told them.

Yeah, we took all their shackles another cup and he was and what did you do that for, and how he would explain it well you know it's this Paul said this and Paul said that and then he said there's any setbacks and he said and you believe and you did it and you believed in and it would probably just you know you just have to have a talk for yourself. You just have to see yourself. You gotta see when he pray when he thought there something about that.

And when he praised was not just on the top doing yourself and then last one of those prisoners every last one of them. When they got back to their when I got back to what I tell the story just a little bit different.

You know they say they have 40 people that got off the plane wreck and they go to this one, they tell you what they saw and felt someone tells what they saw and felt so different but they're all part of the big picture and went to the six and began to tell what God had done time for God and turn things around.

By the time that testimony was you the gospel of Christ and God turned all around our final scriptures.

The last two verses of the book of acts acts 28, 30 and 31 and Caldwell two whole years in his own hired house and received all that came under him all the entertaining people, people look for key preaching the kingdom of God and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with competence for the work to be with and forbidding him because God turned every detour, every obstacle, every hardship, God turned it around and that when he got of Rome's reputation already preceded him.

Their hearts were already open and though he was in the palace. He had his own hired house was a prisoner but he was like what they call came cupcake. It was better than that because he had his visitors come anytime, and he was free to preach and teach the kingdom of God, Jesus Christ. There was absolutely no restrictions. There was no censorship. He preached freely with boldness and no man forbidding because God turned around and every time the devil gets in my face and tells me what I said last time you're going to preach and preach no more details. Now you know when I'm downward Silicon Valley monopoly to get up. Pray for me on a remastered pray for me. I told you why, because I know how the devil does he nosy today. He can't get me out of the Bible is too late it in my heart. If you took my Bibles already in my heart. That was going to try to find some other way, but I know that I know God will turn it around and I'm here to tell you tonight that no matter what you're going and no matter what you're facing, no matter what your trial is, no matter how weary or weak.

You may feel is telling you everything is on hold for it's never going to happen. You can look the devil in high and you can say I believe it'll be just like God said it would be.

And if I end up over here along another show me what God's going to do what God's going to do like God you you want so you look in the mirror and you say, be of good cheer. I love that one escapes me now I can see where is the model that I can't think of the place but said the man who trust in the Lord's heart is fixed he will not fear when evil tidings call. His heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord and that's what you got to do whenever it seems like there's another report. Another obstacle in your way, you got to keep your heart fixed believing that you must know you're on the road. God is going to do something in your life and you know you got a word from God. He's gonna do it.

If you courage if you don't quit reasons to quit and give up, but he held on to the word of God and he said I believe, and he was able while he was in prison. We just read about those two years while he was sitting in prison that is where he wrote the letter to the Philippians that is when he wrote that letter and those words don't worry about me, because God has rather turned it around for good. They were worried about Paul being in here. He is hired house having guests come and go, preaching and teaching and he said everybody in the whole pallet God will turn it around. You can, you have the mountain in your way. You have a burden that doesn't seem like it's moving.

Don't you get weary some of you are worried about your kids what was happening a few years something a word about situation. Some of you are worried about the future you you don't see a way out here you see trouble in your thinking already worrying now about down the road, but I am telling you that if you will hold on to the word of God and hang in there. God promises never seen the righteous forsaken God will not forsake hold onto that word, God will turn it around some of you are worried about these things you don't know about the future on your job, your finances, but whatever it is. If you're worried about believe the word of God and stop fretting stop being in a pity party. The devil beat you down, rise up and say I take it because even if it is not something I want to be tonight. This method is for everybody here, including me, but there are some people here tonight. You know who you are and God is talking to. He's telling you just to me committed to me whatever it is committed to me and hold on to the word of God.

Whatever God is giving you hold onto it and even though things may seem to get worse before they get better. Just remembering the story.

Remember how long and how far the pole had to go, but he ended up in the place where God wanted him to be and when he got there was a great and mighty if he had going without audible Christian. It came from the soldiers in the Centauri and in all all God knows how the better than you. Amen.

I hope you're enjoying Paul's journey to Rome in our message when God turns it around, Rome was the only New Testament church that Paul did not found any had a fervent desire to go there in part to them a spiritual gift. But first he wanted to go to Jerusalem where he had many enemies who wanted him dead were willing to kill themselves.

There were many mornings to Paul not to go, but he was determined knowing God would allow him to get to Rome eventually, but this began a two-year saga that was filled with meetings prison time at midnight escape a shipwreck detour to an island in the winter and a poisonous snake bite.

The first night. But what was meant for Paul's demise, God turned it around and one of the great revivals of the New Testament resulted on that pagan island.

Paul did make it to Rome where he was imprisoned again in the dungeon cell of the Emperor's Palace shackled to a soldier day and night. Now Philip. He was Paul's favorite church. He called them his joy and crown, and they were troubled when they heard he was in prison and wrote him of their concerns. Paul's answer to them swung on the hinge of one word rather, that is, instead of my being discouraged about being in this Roman jail. I'm rejoicing because what is happened to me has fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel.

First my shackles are known throughout the whole palace of Rome, the capital of the world. Everyone knows I'm in jail for Christ, not crime.

And secondly, many brethren who were shy about preaching the gospel are now bold to preach without fear. This is truly the boomerang principle of God. What Satan attempts for our harm.
