Brittany Ruby Miller is CEO of Jeff culinary entertainment where she leads a team of more than 500 employees across seven luxury steakhouses in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Brittany is the author of five-star life, the faithful fight to overcome obstacles and pursue excellence. Let's take a listen to her story and maybe now I am the CEO of Economy attainment and operate land steakhouses USDA prime steakhouses, like a lot of crowds came steakhouses are commissary. Everything is made in housing incredible shafts and my dad's current lap and restaurants was his.

He had very little family didn't really know him this force fathers. At one point causing his forefathers, stepfathers and now once he found out who he thought was a ball actually was his father. That's just a really crazy he had and from failing grade school to think he was Allstate wrestling and Fulbright scholarship to Cornell University. We cannot acquire now Weingartner Hammons hospitality to choices staircase are Cincinnati and he was a red span test Cincinnati. He was running at one point Holiday Inn and also know really involved in promotions marketing and started making relationships with the big red machine and was relationships Johnny bench and Pete Rose backed his first restaurant, the precinct and second restaurant waterfront five-star floating barge on the Ohio River backed by my side and Chris Collins went restaurant throughout the Midwest that we've got foreign Ohio to Kentucky and one in Nashville.

I start my book by explaining what it was like five years old when mom walks to the door for half walked to the door and says your father's pretty bad car accident and, he might not make it pregnant you can have a baby brother. He had an experimental procedure done and should've died had a 5% chance of ever living without being a vegetable and being completely brain-dead Jewish and my mom was raised Christian, and so she started a prayer chain. My dad contributes the prayer chain of 5000 people killed his oculus healing I get into high school and college credits from that.

I was living a completely so underage drinking. Going out and partying and having fun and I never got into drugs. I think because I was the one thing I remember my mom said even if she didn't believe that she would talk about what in front of me so she's a great student on my conscience.

She knows and so to me I was like well I guess if I smoke cigarettes or drugs.

She will say that anyone that I went to bars and I snuck in my brother was making fake IDs of the times I got a fake ID it worked. It was really good. And so we would go out and my dad found out and soaking literally without telling me goes down to our Cincinnati jumped on these places on Main Street which is where the bars are and so I know but I go to get in with my fake ID and the bouncer looks at me and then he takes my ID and he peels off.

I want you to know I'm mailing list your love that my dad chose steakhouses to make business because when celebrities come into town or you want to impress somebody or you want to build relationships with lots relationships that come in very handy with politicians actually give a Ted talks honest. There's a lot of things that they all have in common. They all love garden state and red wine and decadent desserts and so very simple to build relationships in our restaurants. My dad only says one guy comes home after working the last thing you want to do is sit down to a Chilean sea bass. Now you want to have a big Allstate a drink and you know it's just an accomplishment. And I love eight houses. Anyways, he built very strong relationship with Tommy Lasorda and the Dodgers their Carrows and he was one of them in case they became like a second dad and all I know is my boyfriend is a pretty good baseball player and he comes home like what is wrong is like every single time I got up to home plate today.

Every single time screaming and get off the Jeopardy's daughter. Her dad in the Mafia. Every time he got up it was a different thing. He would just try to get any plate I was irate when it happened and now I feel like high-fiving and I like never again like an athlete. They all cheat there all bad now I'm just not interested and I met a Toby Keith concert and take a picture and Marvin Lewis's assistant, Sandy is my mom's best friend. She takes the picture. The next time with Sandy and my… Box at the stadium, and so were saying and I'm joking because there's this picture of this football player who has long hair straightened down to his shoulders past his chin and he stop this look on his face that is just kill somebody. Sandy is cracking up. My dad looked at my new tight and he's like you've lost your mind. Like I know you never happening.

She's like Brittany Caleb Miller middle linebacker took it as a joke he is that he actually is in ministry and arguing that religious studies person argument of this type. Unlike Sandy not a chance.

Thank you. Like he's going to run hard you could be a good friend to him right now not taken on a project listening to Brittany Ruby Miller talk about her father, early life, the mistake she made is a way to you in early 20s barhopping importing them.

She said living an empty life and luckily she had a good cared enough to visit all the bouncers in town and just let them know which way was up at least with him when we come back more Brittany Miller story on L American store view of the great American stories we tell love America like we do, risking you to become a part of the L American stories from if you agree that America is a good and great country. We continue with our American stories and Brittany Ruby Miller was CEO of Jeff Rubin culinary entertainment where she leads a team of more than 500 employees across seven luxuries 3000 in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Let's pick up where Brittany last left off. So she follows up calling multiple times and she said Caleb really I showed him your picture really has no friends up here and he knows your religious studies major and he just got baptized baptized in 2001 as well and he just got the phone from her, and he's like hello Brittany I'm up here attracted to the were sitting like I never wanted to come to Cincinnati city.

I have no friends up here and going through a really hard time in my life and I would just appreciate it if you would just carve out some time and we can talk you for coffee like that sounds like a date I'll just come over to your house. We can just hang out as friends and I like okay and the next thing I know I'm sitting in my living room with my best friend watching a Centura and it's the most awkward situation ever. We don't talk about any of his problems at all and we just watched a movie.

It was ridiculous that I fell for. We will build a friendship first.

The he grew up very, very religious, very legalistic, not an excuse for anything. And his parents are tremendous, and so he ends up going to college and he gets somebody pregnant enemies he thinks is the world just over and so he's at that point she think the baby was almost due when we met and so you know I'm not trying to get funders talking on his friends and try to help them in. That's what he said he wanted as we became friends more developed into something more, but I'm thinking what okay I can deal with the king.

The guys got a son I can handle that I'm not thinking there's anything else going on with that relationship and then we got married and he comes to me and says you know I'm learning he's still massively depressed throw on an injury career ending injury Seattle I'm packing the house up to move into our new house as newlyweds and watching the game and listening to it in my closet packing and the announcer comes on that one. Caleb Miller's down and cut the commercial and I'm like what the hack and so I called Bill Conley who was traveling Sec. thinking I finally get a hold of him and he's like he's John Alexander and this guy comes and just crunches backwards and landed on him and Fergie said about two minutes he felt it was nothing he could not move and then two minutes later came over his body. He was able to walk off a miracle that he is not paralyzed but we both knew the season was over. At this point and then comes back and he is in the most tremendous back pain, tried to fake and he tried to get back in shape and do what he could do. He failed the physical when he would go and practice and try to unite a couple workouts some teams and so he turned down another tryout. I think in Atlanta and he just said I can't play and he said, but I gotta get my brain I got to get my heart rate my life right when he confessed again that he cheated on me… Don't get this crap together and I'm knocking to be the one that continues to just sit there in years, now attending fickle and wishy-washy and blaming it on depression.

I'm not buying any of it.

I could tell he was genuinely sorry he wanted to change so like I've got at least give it a shot if you're dying to yourself.

At this point, your dad all gone now. You want to pick up the pieces and picture yourself. This is the one done shot if you want to go. Go figure that out in my clinic. It's amazing to remember your last session of the three weeks is with the spouse and the counselor said what I tell you Caleb's personality is not like many that I've counseled and I don't know if you can change personality and Caleb looks at entities heartbroken because he's he's needing to convince me that it's worth like I'm better.

Also, he's not ready to leave that part was true. The part I can't change.

Personality is not true by actually was not. The counselor doesn't take any credibility away from the program in the Meyer clinic. He just wasn't in the counselor and so they got a new one but my counselor said you've got to just continue to pray those are your weapons and so we Caleb nonstop during that time because he stays for another three weeks and at this point, I can tell, there is significant change. They fully healed now, but this is a different person who I know is can be putting in the work to change himself but then they tell me upon his check out that I should check for three weeks and I like fine losing my mind.

Crazy people down here tell me some the stories the people and I'm like wow that sounds like a serious psych ward crazy. I'm not going to program it all on my own thing appear that counselors and their like no and so when I get down there. The number one thing that was unveiled was that I dealing with perfectionism that I just always thought that was a good thing I got was excelling in everything I deal to be a mental disorder perfect. My body had to be perfect.

Denied.

10 years of an eating disorder that I never told anybody about this thing I need to work out with Caleb. The crazy thing was we really do that with my counselor and what I loved about my counselors and nanny therapist you when you hire a therapist. It's not you just don't going like spell everything and then and hope they're the one you need to interview a therapist like you are interviewing an employee with my mom and dad got me a therapist when they chose to get divorce and this guy all he did was listen and he never gave me feedback. He never gave me tools.

He never going just talk like you give me some advice. Talk to me three counselors like that in my life. Go to the Meyer clinic and she actually gives me her opinion like wow this goes awesome and she looks Caleb and this is what you did is wrong know what you're doing right. She validated me so much but she would also validate him toxic.

That's below the belt can't say this if here's the tools the fighting so because she was such an amazing counselor and she said your biggest issue pretty is your perfectionism and the other stuff you're in it. She'll help you with the marriage stuff to get over like you need to really be focused on yourself and that's what happened now is almost married 15 years and it is the best marriage I could ever hope for. And I remember when my pastor's wife, Kathy. When I called her just sobbing hysterically that there is. I mean it. It's just what I was so blindsided when I found out he cheated in our marriage that I was just Roxio and unless you've experienced it cosseting people who haven't variance. It will never really understand how beautiful the healing can be.

She told me that day if you can forgive him and could put in the work and he truly is repetitive and sorry you will have the most rocksolid marriage and she she told me she was you know an impossibility serves as my pastor appear. He publicly and same thing with my mentor for Taylor and Sandra, I would have never known that that happened like people coming out of what works. Unbelievable how common it is and I really thought I was like the only one. And nobody can know when you deal with that. This greatest healing even far exceeds the Meyer clinic.

Our meeting and talking to women who had also been hurt and who chose to stay and fight and it is the best decision I made.

Because Caleb is the most amazing father and the most amazing husband and he truly is a testament and you can change. The counselor was wrong about a lot. You been listening to Brittany Miller destroyed not just over marriage and her husband's infidelity. But how she got through it and how she learned about herself to particular perfectionism has been around a perfectionist. It's not pleasant. Really not pleasant to be one of the most unpleasant things will always disappoint a person you don't know what your disappointing themselves in my goodness, so many relationships to survive infidelity to come out on the other side better ensuring that story makes anybody who's gone through the US alone when we come back more. Just what every position. I ended up being in the operations for 20 years and love restaurants in and learned every position and that was one thing that my dad really a great decision that he made because I wanted to since I graduated going to corporate office in start doing what I thought that I should do and he's like you have not served the position of having certainly I know, but I learned through watching other people start. I read every training manual. I created the documents probably like know until you serve your you really don't understand it, and it is the hardest job I think every citizen should have to serve at some point in there and I think everybody should work on the tips to and so great experience for a couple of years in management and then I go to the corporate office and my intro was relations manager and so I go to take my first call and I'm listening to this guy tell me this crazy story that we refuse to seeing-eye dog and espouse their blind and they came to the precinct and how dare we not served, then we turn him away because he is a dog. This Equation, the Two Used Mainly in United States Of America Was Developed Back in 1959. However This Only Applicable for Straight through Lanes Because It's Designed to Be a Minimum Stopping Distance of the Two Traverses Constant Speed and You Can Only Traverse the Distance Constant Speed to Go Straight through an Intersection and Doesn't Apply to When You Make Your Turn. There Were More Interested in That I'd Said That I Was a Swedish Electronics Engineer so There Were Two Things That They Were Complaining That I Did Wrong or Illegally, and That Was What I Called Myself an Engineer without Being Licensed in the State of Oregon and the Second One Was the Doctor Talked about Traffic Signals without Being Licensed to Do so. I Actually Talk to the Board of Engineers so Called the First Amendment Rights That We Have Not Only in the U.S. Constitution and Then Also in the Door Goes Constitution Itself but Ignored All Those Things That Are Brought up to Their Attention.

So I Thought I Was Clear That I Could Move on and to Continue with My Quest.

This Research Mets Figured out a Way to Solve the Problems. Traffic Lights Not Taking the Count for People Making Turns, As One Does in the Free Time and Percent of the Pond and in an Email That I Sent out 60 to 60 Minutes into the National Board of Engineers.

I Also Forwarded the Email to the Board of Engineers Which the Them Later Deemed to Be Legal and That so It Actually Started with an Investigation by the Board That the List of Literally Two Years Almost 2 Years and Undefined. All for $500 Was Actually Very Stressful to Be in on the Investigation, Especially If You're Being Told to Legal for Saying Holy Water, Swedish Engineer and It Hurt Me Well to the Court. To Be Honest with You, but Just Wanted to Bring Information so We Can Talk about It.

I'm Just Sharing Some Ideas and I Think That's the Fundamental Thing for All of Us Should Be Able to Be Free to Share Ideas. If You Don't Have Any Ideas or People Don't Dare to Share Ideas of Means We Don't Have Any Ideas to Took to Pick from and Obviously Good for for the Whole There's This Thing America Called the Rule of Law.

It's the Idea That They Are Publicly Known Stable Laws That Apply to Everyone.

So It Matches Cased Rules, Laws That the First Amendment Covers His Right to Speak Truthfully and Openly. Truthfully, about Who He Is and Openly about Any Ideas Government Can't Just Violate Rights Because They Want to If They Do, Because of the Rule of Law. Matt Can Do Something about Go to Court Point to the Law in This Case Constitution Say This Can't Be Done in a Court of Law Rules on and He Did the Help of the Institute for Justice Max Took the Engineering Board Court and Sue Them to Secure His Rights As Masses Lawyer from the Institute for Justice Sandra Board Has Had a Really Remarkable History of These Laws against All Kinds of Different People, and the Board's Enforcement Practices. We Fell into Two Camps. One, They Went after People Who Simply Talked about Technical Topics like Matt's Talking about Double Traffic Lights Are like People Talking about Power Plants or Landfills Are Really Any Kind of Engineering Topic You Can Think of. The Board Was Equally Aggressive in Policing the Word Engineer so All of the Software Engineers Working at Intel in Oregon Couldn't Call Themselves Engineers Sanitation Engineer Couldn't Hold Social Engineer Domestic Engineer Couldn't Call Themselves an Engineer and for Most People Who Were Caught up in Is Really Onerous Enforcement Proceedings, It Simply Wasn't Worth It to Hire a Lawyer and to Try to Vindicate the First Memo Right so the Board Just Kept Getting Away with Peers New Engineering Exception to the First Amendment.

Our Claims Really Fell into Two Buckets. One Mets Had a First Amendment Right to Talk about the Math behind Traffic Lights and He Wanted to Continue Talking about Traffic Lights and We Needed a Federal Court Order Securing His Right to Do That. Likewise, We Sought Similar Relief from the Federal Courts Protecting His Right to Describe Himself Truthfully Using the Word Engineer and Thankfully the Courts End up Siding Masses Favor.

So We Will Even Help Hold Engineers Here in Oregon and Probably Hold across the Country As Well.

To Be Able to Say We Are without Being Deemed Illegal. So How Is Using Is Not Necessarily Newfound the Newly from Freedom Percent Deduction in My Ideas to the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

It's an International Organization Based in Washington DC. About 15,000 Members in the 90 Countries and Right Now of the Appeals Board Set up Where I Can Do or Go & My My Ideas and My Solutions Because I Feel It It's It's Important I Don't Feel like People Should Get a Citation for Just Doing a Safe and Comfortable. Turn and Here in Oregon. The Dissertation Is so $260 and for Low Income Person or Family That Is so You Big Expense for Not Necessarily Doing Anything Wrong.

The Second One Is Also I Feel like We Need to Be Prepared for Autonomous Vehicles Because They Are Going to Be Programmed to Drive through Intersections Safely and Comfortably in That Section Will for You Should Also Be Doing Today. As Humans We Need to Be Able to Drive through Intersections Safely and Comfortably without Having to Slam on the Brakes or Accelerate into the Intersection to Fix the Underlying Problems That We Have Today and Think You Have the Voice Right Now to Do so in the Solution Is Present for 15,000 Individuals, 90 Countries Was Accepted and Is Being Pushed out Internationally Know without a Government Issued Engineering Roles from Story.
