We hope you are to Exodus and we started with leaving Egypt and were still at Mount Sinai, but we are aware still receiving instructions about how to build the tabernacle, the actual execution of the instructions are still to come.

Yeah, exactly. So you know how to build the tabernacle basically how to build a portable tent for God as they wandered in the desert in their tents but not just the tent itself.

But what goes on in the tent we've looked at not only the furniture and stuff inside.

But now are pretty much focusing on the guys were going to be doing stuff in the tabernacle and principally the high priests. Priests yeah so last time we looked at the consecration of Aaron, the first high priest and what they did and lot to lot interesting imagery right there and again. Remember, this is an arbitrary all this imagery is meant to teach you something so should be asking yourself all the way through this. Why did God specify this. He's trying to teach me something in the picture of what is showing right here. It is very specific to last time we looked at consecrating the priest and today we look at consecrating briefs for contingency was the consecration enters action.

Look forward to Aaron's replacements is real. The son who succeeds him as priest who comes into the tent of meeting, to minister in the holy place, shall wear them seven days you shall take the ram of ordination and pilot/in a holy place and weight you want to talk about that seven days first before we present interesting new fact because we didn't have a ride 70s with Aaron's consecration, but in the subsequent son to take his place is going to be a weeklong affair. Consecration comes up again and again and again.

And so when when something is repeated. That's a big waving flag.

We need to kind of slow down and pay attention to what we're being told there so we just learned that the garments are holy and that the flesh of the animal was sacrificed is holy and it needs to be eaten in a holy place, not just Eden but cooked prepared in a holy place and so we talk about holy interns being set apart for purpose the idea purpose is really paramount when you see holy.

It's not like I'm saying what I'm doing this for purpose. There's been to in my heart don't stray from us. I'm doing it for a reason, so there's great purpose behind this see holiness. Okay she was going well why so I don't know if it was worth mentioning here. But remember that episode with David where he's on the run and goes to the temple or sever tabernacle dedicated bread and even Jesus uses that argument.

Okay, repetition, repetition, holy, holy, holy, atonement, atonement, atonement, up to seven days seven days seven days which emphasize the fact you were your talk about a bull every day. The big animal is a big animal and it's interesting that a single bull offering is not be sufficient in order to atone for what the priest needs to do and that sort of hints back to what the writer of Hebrews as well you know if the offering of animal would do what you have to do it over and over and over again so really this atonement is something that it's it's like a temporary covering atonement, but a bullet day minutes. Just a lot of sacrifice well this is specifically a sin offering for atonement right right were going to get to other sacrifices that we mentioned this before, that there is this constant shedding of blood. Constant death of animals constant offerings on this altar in front of that of the holy place yeah yeah bull is a sin offering who sin are we talking about well is possible that were talking about Aaron sin, yes, I would go that direction, just and Savior directly, but were talked about consecrating the priests right so in order for the priest to be holy, set apart, he's not qualified himself because he's sinful, so something has to be done first to do with the sin of the high priest before the high priest can intercede for the people. That's very good and so this is a big animal with a lot of blood right so did you say in verse 37 where it says the altar shall be most holy and what ever touches the altar shall become holy. Later on we will and reading the accounts of what happens with with things that are holy usually works the other way something gets touched by something unclean and is no longer holy orders no longer clean but here it says nine touches the altar shall become holy holiness flows out from the altar and what happened here right sacrifice is God's purpose in all of this in terms of dealing with sin and what's on the altar alters a place that happens and it flows when I was comes back to us. Again, the purpose of a life being should so that life might be come to someone else is from that altar. So actually it isn't just something coming to an end. Death, but it's actually life coming out of it. So that's why were looking and he also had to consecrate the altar and I would presume to use the blood in the x-ray touch it. One lamb, you shall offer in the morning and the lamb shall offer twilight and with the first lamb attempt to measure fine flour mingled with 1/4 of a hin of beaten oil, and 1/4 of a hin of wine for drink offering, and the other lamb, you shall offer twilight and shall offer with it a grain offering and string off drink offering, as in the morning for a pleasant aroma of food offering to the Lord, that it shall be a regular burnt offering throughout your generation at the entrance of the tent of meeting before the Lord were I will meet with you to speak with you there… Stuff. So now we got onto what it's like to continue consecration talking to my elections going to be in the tabernacle, and eventually in the temple itself, not the seven days of consecration, but now as we go on to lambs, one in the morning and one every day perpetually beginning every day and at the end of every day, and it's not just lambs.

It's a full meal. It's a full meal yeah exactly so. So this is something that goes on. If you wonder about what happened in the temple and Israel, the tabernacle, you can at least say will every day.

The words there was a laminate in the morning and one in twilight that was offered yeah and this is like a continual consecration and easily official prescribed offerings that the priests offer morning and night yeah but in between time people were continually bringing their own bank offerings and peace and that's what makes us different.

This isn't someone saying I'm bring an offering for my sin. That's what you see and then as you go into the tabernacle and you going to more special places in the near to the corridor work. The tabernacle was that God could live in their mitts and live in their midst and visibly live in their midst. Here's the tabernacle and it allows him not only to be with them but for them to meet with him in this sentence or two.

God is the one who is doing all the acting I will I will only thing that they do is no that on the Lord and it's interesting to that the high priests we talked about this before the high priest, in a sense, don't belong to Israel to belong to God that he said he said the beginning of this chapter there. That very thing that they may serve me as priests and so that's God's intention. The priests serve God in order that God can meet with the people. That's the whole point and and we extended a little bit more going past the altar of the sacrifices our God doesn't do you want to meet with us but what gets in our way is the sin I love this here that even now wearing this portion of the book where God is saying to Moses. Now maybe some of you listeners don't realize this, but if you're reading in your Old Testament and you find Lord all in capital letters. LAR G, then, that is, that signifies that the word, there's the Hebrew word that we sometimes we say Yahweh. Sometimes we say I am that that is that the literal name when Moses said to God, who shall I say sent me and he says to him, I am that I am this name so they'll know because I make them holy that I am dwelling among the God who is him.

He's existence is what is right and in case you confuse Jehovah is just the Latin version of well you have a transliteration is a conglomeration of the consonants in. But when you see Joe thing right.

That's were taught right yeah and it's interesting to put some of his credentials there in 46 they'll know that I am the Lord their God on the Yahweh on the one. The woman's name is changed right to that of her husband. So let me just remind you that back in Exodus 19 when the Lord had first mentioned this idea to Moses he said now then to the people.

If you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession among all the people, for all the earth is mine and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. The fire at night. The gigantic nightlight. I call it you know there's a lot that yeah but here is going to come in and be over this place. This place so what water way I would've been really great to be attentive with them at the time and you know it would've really been amazing. And yet Jesus said something greater than As a Year Later Than the Tabernacle Came to Show Us the Glory of God Flesh so Let's Not Get All Excited about the Visible Smoke and Fire Because God Took on Flesh to Dwell and for the Same Purpose. He Just Talked about Here so He Can Be with Them and Meet with Them.
