This is good Truth Network welcome to mannitol and brought you by DAW. CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry were there devoted to breaking down the walls of race and accommodation and challenging them to take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white guy once again to man talk radio.

We have to guess Roy in the studio with us today. You want to introduce be more happy to lose before Michael Troutman and room good to brothers the Wilbur Dooley in the ward and we would go in a real special show special should. Today we will be talking about very sensitive subject. Some may think, and it is a subject that we as man and asked people in general need to have this particular conversation because it's something that is very very heartfelt and so we will be talking about the subject of racism today. And if that sort of gave your joke while you writing listening in your car. The house it should migrate will is racism and also the discrimination is Michael and Romanoff talked about to share with you.

It's sometimes it's subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle. I want to say not-so-subtle is pretty abrupt, pretty abusive, very deliberate. Not so in the subtle times what happens in which we talk about tonight.

Things sometimes only people are very consciously doing and maybe sometimes subconscious, but quite often the very costs with the doorman, how that impacts the personal mail so I guess the question then would be for those who are listening, you might say that you are not a racist. But how do you know that you're not a racist. How do you know if you are a citizen if you are racist. Would you admit that you are a racist because racism in its general sense.

I think it captivates the mind and the heart of the individual who might be saying something in the general context that they think is not racially motivated or inspired. There could be something to save. It could also be back to the subtleties.

After talking with Michael one evening last week. It's is maybe the very things not said it could just be the very action of the person on the other end could be the stoplight which we are denied it could be on the walkway. It could be a shopping center store any number of things that people go through especially people of color go through that white people tend to do, and I'm sure Jim will not just talking one side there's other sites that we all know that people treat certain ways. At times, which will talk about the time but I think a lot of that goes back to root root structure because been so many years of of that type of behavior which will talk about tonight which litmus currently slated to. This will itself is get going because it's going to be is going be a healthy discussion of the two shows for those of listeners will be part one part two. So, this week you heard about Linda writing the part two next week so let's just get right to it so it will open up with Michael to go with what I would call the subtle subtle experiences that Michael has gone food in recent times, and when I talk about when it was clear we talked about just in recent days, recent months, recent years to Michael want to share with us a little bit to give just quick background about who you are. Just remind listeners and then let's talk a little bit about the subtle things in the past and you just as a recent and not just to be clear, Michael is a black man in Jerome's black man will's black man, and I'm sitting here they got shot and L is it on the white guy so that it's good to be a good conversation today so Mike with that was totally for just a moment.

I will is definition. This is not you know some academic definition is just my words okay and that's to have a view of a supposed superiority based on race and did you couple that equally with an imaginary belief of power over a race just because of race, and you know it takes different forms can be in schools, housing, certain in our criminal justice system where I work every day and in hiring practices but you can also experience and what I will share it wrong what he was alluding to ingest day-to-day living to drive up to stoplight and then look over at a a white person and see them lock their door to go into a store and not have been the clerk way, don't you in an efficient whaling expeditions way, I have this loss prevention officer follow you throughout the school.

Those things cut the list.

I liked her percent Michael imagine imagine I'm white and white alarm white person applicable to the store as a white man and I have to be a predominately black area was dismissed to split the tables or so people can put this respect we think people understand when they sell hey black man of involved in the store, you loss prevention officers follow me around because a black and I know put on the white area. Most shoppers don't look like me also to be part of this post. If you listen your melancholy about you. Just imagine small your white man or woman. You walked into a store and there is a black loss prevention officer follow you around because you're the audit to stand in the store. How does that make you feel, how does it make you feel folks, that's all. You could try to get you to understand what what Michael's timeshare here is to put yourself in those shoes as the other person not the person may befall in the microchip of the person may be found.

Roy Jones once getting followed by loss prevention officer doesn't look like you feel good in the night you shared that and when June shares with the historic try to put myself in the shoes, it just doesn't is no way to management but you can, try to put yourself in the shoes and say what how what I really feel about that and I know how I would feel what you say destroy and in and I'm I'm just going to just a little pushback on that because in that situation without the support of the historical daily grind that racism can bring upon a person to bear upon the person. Why wouldn't somebody think that you were there for some business racism has a way of subtle warping how we look at one right right you command as the white guy in a predominately black area because the deed images also walked somewhat male assigned to you a position of authority just because of the cosmos. I don't white and there is even doing right right and is not that you didn't follow with the thought that you may perpetrate a staff do something in the store but there's a curiosity, more so than a threat doesn't have a senior creature, I suggest, sure looks to begin, but nonstandard and semi-without a history that goes back to I think we opened up the show with that. There's a there's a maybe a subconscious behavior that occurs but there's a feeling that's that's embedded in the person because of the way they were treated in the way they were like you treated that way your lifetime you sent you sorry parents go through it yourself you been through it so I can't equate the same feeling or understand. You're right.

Maybe there could Mrs. Hayes here for business that he's here, but he's been here for business, but the point was to say just to make a person falling out irrespective of the reason, but also you are the audit you the odd person out you the one being followed and questioned in or looked at without them said a word that they're assuming that you're there for the wrong reason right so that I can't say I can understand the historical side of the all those years of it happening wrong and we know what I say subconscious. There's a consciousness is always accursed you made, you may become numb to it or you just not recognizing the fact you're still doing stuff that you should need to file the way you treat people the RP people are not people are not born racism. Racism is a behavior is learned here is learned so so they have to learn that from somewhere in the course learned from you learned from home you learn from your peers or you learn from society or the community in general and so I think this in and of itself. You know it. It weighs heavy upon any individual whether their African-American in a store or you looking, you know, to another car or all of a sudden you walk past the lady and she grabs her purse really really tightly you know we've had things happen like this to us. So it's it's a his historical thinking that has propagated exponentially. Right. Over time, certain in our day and time. When then back to a micros about the locks on the door and I'm just that when it's for sure that store with me. I was like I ami I was this really setback.

I don't want to set back in to sit there because of my sin stoplight. It will cover choose your professional doesn't matter which are professional and you know I address in the house every time a senior in a casual times are always dressed up and you're sitting there is a professional car and someone at the doesn't look like you sees you, locks the door so you can see it and start looking back ahead. My guess a part look outside her face and that's just folks on just to tell you that's wrong nothing. What will our trust upon is is so correct. This is the right to put some weight on that you shouldn't be there. Not going through my day trying to just live life to have that white throne. It adds to the tension it as to the stress right of already stressful life and so racism it it really cuts a custody and I don't think people that have never been to a cannot understand certain feel what you felt, but we can's that's the point of the show.

As we were putting on the table.

We want to create an awareness that will trust God to do is to do my minds eye to sensitize your heart and your mind and your soul and spirit, the say hey this is wrong.

You need to do something about the way you're behaving and that's the whole point of the show because if we don't talk about it in this group of incidents tonight has heard us and we all said this, if we as the body of Christ can't get it right would never expect will get right in his own sake and run while Satan run around to let him deal with the world we got a deal with the body in the plant the seeds in the world but is not doing right when I will get the seat plan and just like we said earlier today. If on an individual basis. If things have to be worked from the inside out of it individual, then it has to be the same in the church has to be work from the inside of the church out affecting society so it's almost like when the Scripture talk about working out your own soul salvation with fear and trembling. See if if I am going to work something out.

I got to have something in me. In order for it to be worked after so well without without no word how can I work anything out. That's going to be beneficial to pay will go to could greatly appreciate student today were just excited to have Michael with us and we hear from Jerome to come back off break her little bit more of the less subtle curves, racism and discrimination's 10 year CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship after the best breakfast in town meeting location is in their voracious posterior First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Remember, affordable chiropractic on the West Lexington High Point Hall 336-885-1987. Welcome back to the show where we were introduced to Rutgers with is her second just been sitting here so patiently just talk about how quick the time is going the first part of the show for the past 30 minutes but with that, Jerome. We would just would like first say thank you again for coming tonight and Jones recently is a huddle of insurgencies is really doing well get here with us tonight don't like to join us. Thank you for invite to Jerome.

I guess I'll open up just ask you give us. In fact, it may give a quick backdrop to our first meeting. Jerome and I met a few years back and he was honest enough, a few weeks back to cellular board when I first heard about the work you guys are trying to accomplish for the kingdom. He said I've come meet you because I didn't really particularly around white men. And he said the trust white man and was very transparent honesty that was we manager what about two years. I guess when you share that with folks from Mandeville to tell you that heart and out of love, share that with you. It's pretty amazing thing.

So Jerome, what you tell us why you felt that way the thing the couple major ventured shared with me earlier in your life and half and have really put your guard about deal with with white men white people in general will know they don't know that I was a Boy Scout leader for over 25 years going through the different training. I'll usually be the only African-American there went through the Commissioner College got my PhD there in the facilitators came to me and told me this, as far as you can go.

In other words, we can stop you from going to the classes, but we can stop you from being to facilitate because they want to keep the good old boys network go went through the I'm also a return letter care and when did you get face with a kid comes up to you when you is out doing your job trying to deliver mail and the kid was announced to his mama in word is here for their unemployment. Just going through these different experience on just day-to-day, but now a subject that was learned in school. There was embrace and enforce in-home so going through different situations.

You can be put on guard for is when I was in the military. We had to do different events in a flat tire. Try to change a flat tire white man sit insisted no and I was out trying to change the entire so is not managed to write place order wrong place, but this is just a behavior that racism is alive and will even in the church is still live in will you win then we can go in and visit brother or sister at a church while USAir house you will welcome. But if you see them outside of their house does there like that. They don't know you so what would happen to the fallacy of the brotherly love and all that while we was in the house but when we get out in public, then we have a we don't even know the those under some of the events that I have experienced in the world and also in the church and see folks.

These this is real life situations and we know that some of you out there may have access spirits of something like this. If not, you know worse than that, but it becomes enlightened to those who may not have experienced something to this magnitude because here we are in 2019 2019. Roy, we are here and we are we experiencing things that have gone back to the time of different color water fountains in restaurants or in any way on right you understand that if a member Jerome's store correctly, I believe you are you and you admittedly could be true in the military were you when a military unit. When the truck when it flat tire occurred. Jerome is in a military convoy.

Keeping this in mind folks are here is that here's serving your country's protecting you and a man walks out six is dull and what he didn't tell you was. He also pulled a shotgun out made pretty clear if he did move he was gonna shoot at him or shoot him to get on up the road and of course it's been several years ago, but it's the point that it set the tone for Jerome and and that goes back to learned behavior, but also as a learned defense system alarm consciousness that happens in our you get burnt once shame on you get burned twice shame on me. So this basically starts to acclimate him towards white people to say what it is because I'm white men speak to it starts to acclimate him and his attitude toward white people, and even some of these mentioned as a milker in the church of been things of recent so folks, this is a serious problem. I mean, it really is a serious problem and in the divide that is occurring in our country today is only getting worse in we have no one to blame but ourselves if you're following Christ that we have nobody to blame but ourselves because drones point in Michael's point.

It's happening in the church and I think Kurt and Jim Farmer.

All that was a Martin Luther King. This is the most segregated day of the week is Sunday and still is today. Is that not correct as crack so Michael what he had to say about what I'm another thing Dr. King said is that darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that. And while this is an old story.

This is new. You allude to the divisiveness of divisiveness that's going on in our country right now what may be impossible with main is possible with God. A man who it takes the gospel of God into people create not only new individuals but new people and that's what the gospel will do that. Charlie will spoke to this you have to have the word in you.

And as we get the word into people that we can get somebody's hatred and bitterness and divisiveness out of people, a man with a generous morning out at the minister with you as I was praying about this and follow what is it what is it he wants to speak about related to the segregation, racism and discrimination, and it was thinking what Scripture makes the most sense says it all way we should be in the center.

I asked the question he put on the heart. Love your neighbor as yourself.

Folks in Scripture doesn't say love the black man as yourself doesn't say love the white men yourself doesn't love the Indian, Hispanic, or Asian, who everyone to go through.

He says love your neighbor enough it will correct me from wrong turns over translation neighbor was anyone that you could see which meant anyone as yourself.

So to the point if we love everyone as our self. It doesn't matter what the skin color is and we as the body class were not doing that than are we indeed followers of Christ. Well, if you don't know yourself, how can you love yourself.

If you don't love you said you never love anybody mean you might.

We will discuss and come over here you the melting pot we inherent it since we were little fellows that America will this big melting pot 160 years old and we have mailed to get down what I'm looking at is more of a big tall sell it as we bring in all flavors to give noon. According to the word to say that it is many members but is only one but so how can a body be divided against us in again but were doing and where doing it because of what what Proverbs 16 says, I believe it's it's verse two that says all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but God ways the motive, he ways the spirit. He weighs why you're saying what's motivating you to say what you're saying and a person when they say things they may not even believe that what they're saying is racist. So when there there saying it, they, they have no standard to measure what they are saying by see the standard for the born-again believer is the word of God.

So we we measure what we say. Five. What the word of God says, but an individual who don't know Christ. All he has is his his own thinking. But we have individuals that are in church and has a religious platform say they know God is a relationship with God but don't know the power of God to see the power of God will come in Zen about racism in the body in his body. One sent if we all believe that all we truly believe is all we are close to being our denomination and I believe that denominationalism has indeed divided us no cloud so you know that's one of the mission of the ministry is to break down the walls of race and denomination denominationalism has caused us to say if we are if we're over here and we have communion on the first Sunday and you're over here and your washing feet on one Sunday then and you are not washing feet because you're saying we don't believe in washing feet, and you're not having communion on the first Sunday because we are not having click ON his family.

It's it's all about man manuals you purposes many times with mangled man has done a great injustice to the body of Christ in us all of the conflict is all the crazy stuff that makes no sense and is not a biblical most of it.

We been through, take a read between the lines, rather than just reading Scripture for what is read between the lines and try to interpret in the what we think it means versus what God tells us that's the whole whole cluster problem. Hey, I know were part of step on a lot of toes right now people out there that are really I've got to be West Wing of the Methodist.

This is all there is the Baptist that it hey listen I folks were not were not here to condemn anybody for being part of any denomination. What is telling that we don't think it's it's it's it's healthy if you're using that platform is that the word of God as a platform to level each of a Mente man so hey this is part one part two's common folks like you to join us if that will be back next week with part two. Please be sure to me and we appreciative for the show. Just a reminder if you listen to the show you not accepted the Lord. I got his knowledge in center asked Jesus and heart turn foodways in front of body price start worshiping with a man, a man we wrap up today show.
