There are more important things in life than money, but that’s not to say money isn’t important. The Bible talks about it all the time, and the fruit of handling it wisely and foolishly is all around us. Are we being wise with our money?

There are certainly more important things in life than money, but that is not to say that money is an important money is one of the most important things in life is not the most important things and the important thing in the book of Proverbs tells us very clearly that there are other things that are more important.

For example, a good reputation is better than money.

For example, wisdom is better than rubies. The Bible talks about us when it comes to a family situation is our passage for today, but one make the point. Money support is not the most important thing. There are things that are more important first 1517 says this is better to have dinner of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf where there is strife in the house now if I ever needed God to convince me of one verse in my life. That's it. Okay I like Lord help my unbelief. Okay, I am a carnivore. Some you guys okay the cobra shutdown half-and-half you about ping-pong tables that I went about two cows are the ex-husband and I got a raise these guys myself. The last meats did we name them. We did name them. One of them was named Berg his name stands for hamburger a case and two weeks ago he took that ride to freezer camp as we told our kids.

All right, so I thought you people vastly you so you know he's going he's eased he's going off you go to the butcher people have asked me you know you are your kids like men, are they like okay with this talk about this like nothing ever talk about their saving all those conversations with her therapist later life right so you don't think that this this whole idea of like me looking at this passage and I'm kind of like I don't know I'm on some sort of a carnivore. I really like the idea of a fattened calf instead of a dinner vegetables my whole life and yet the Bible says was attainable.

Vegetables and assign The whole point is making is vegetables cost less money. It's better to have little money in a house where there is love, then, to have a bunch of money in a house where there is strife. I want to overly say this because the rest of the sermon is going to be about money, not even just about giving but about growing the wealth that we have is I will make sure I say is not the most important thing about about life. It is not. Most important thing in life, but it is certainly one of the most important things. It is massively important that we understand wisdom when it comes to finances and handling things the way God has called us to do so.

You copy Scripture currently Proverbs chapter 27 and is were to spend our time today. If you have a copy of Scripture Proverbs 27 if you're taking notes today will be going to be the big idea, wise families know what to do with money and wise families do it. That's what wisdom is. Wisdom is not knowing what to do. Wisdom is knowing what to do and then deciding that you're going to do and and this is something that our families in 2022 need very much because I might have been a raise hands into like that and I don't mean to be overly pointed right here at the beginning but I would imagine across our campuses right here regional life.

I just started to ask the question or making by a comfortable budgets are asking the question hates how much strife in the home is related to finance. What if I asked this question, what is your plan for planting seeds in the month of July, 20, 22 that will grow into prosperity.

Years and years and years from now the implant for that matter, what is it look like to strategize and game plan around the budget and debt and those types of things in the home.

Are you feeling squeezed. Are you feeling crushed or do you feel free when I began to start talking about finances and money and we all assume is what I don't make enough to feel freedom and that well baby were to see a little bit different on that today. Maybe it's not about how much we make.

It's about how we handle what God has given us will be able to see some of that today we keeping so much of our money is so much of our treasure that it really shows that all of our treasure all of our heart is wrapped up in this world I could ask another hundred pointed questions, or I could just say this, are we handling money wisely. You know that, will get at all of it in the past is only going to today comes right out of Proverbs 27 and I were to dive into it almost my sermon announcement have the sermons tell you what this is okay and in the second half of the sermon, hafted, do a little because you think you Proverbs there's 100 things about money and we could go on and on about different things about money from the book of Proverbs. I want to try to go one application angle in this passage I hope you jump onto the Proverbs challenge. Starting this weekend I were to read a chapter a day as a church. I hope you'll sign onto that and jump into that your to see the book of Proverbs talks about money a lot rights but for today to try to explain as best I can in order to get into this idea of living with margin what to do with margin and that you know how our generosity, really, shows maybe what we think about whose world is in our finance and all data rights was not improper. 727 here's what it says no well the condition of your flocks and give attention to your herds, for riches do not last forever know and and and does a crown endure to all generations.

When the grass is gone and the new growth appears in the vegetation of the mountains is gathered, the lambs will provide your clothing in the goats. The price of a field. There will be enough goats milk for your food for the food of your household and for the maintenance of your girls.

Finally a passage where I am not needing to do a lot of excavation okay so finally we get one. This is run out the best super straightforward rights hi Liz.and I know that many of us are probably not living in an agrarian type but I don't know maybe your farmer. Maybe not a farmer. I don't. I know some people mercy.

He'll do have goats of any understand this little bit differently or whatever, but generally I think when we read this. The main thrust of it is something like this. If you pay attention to your resources, they will grow and they will provide for you this passage I think is trying to get us to see that there is something that God is set up in the economy of his kingdom that when we understand the way that he is set up the financial system and the way that money works that if we pay attention to it and we lean into it and we trust what he says about it that we have the opportunity to see our resources grow and what we handle grow and create even an opportunity to build a life that honors and maybe in a greater way because were leveraging the things that we have now. That might be a little different maybe them teaching. You've heard about money.

I'm not sure I know this.

I know sometimes in churches anything about money gets shamed really fast. It gets it gets demonized really, really fast and that's because money can easily mimic and and can easily become an idol in our life. And so the easy be quick. I would say immature thing to do is to look at the dangerous something and then just off the bat: bad so this is happening churches is have a number of other things to think about authority. Think about art think about sex think about money. This is what happens in churches people look at it and they say man. I am tempted to idolize. So the answer to that is I need to demonize.

We will demonized or tempted idolize, but that is something that is pretty immature. We ought to do instead is say no I understand the danger of it. Some of the greatest gifts that God ever gave some the things I mentioned sex authority money. These are great gifts from the hand of God. They certainly can become major idols in our life. We can begin to trust them over and against God, but that is not a reason to then say that they're not good. That is something that's immature. What we need is wisdom and maturity that holds the line and holds attention and figures out the way forward, instead of one of the other one side or the other, demonize or worship it as if it is God, and fall into idolatry. Maybe you can say like this, you'll really see that money is good but it's not God, right, money is good and I don't just mean forgiving.

Okay mom money is is something is a good gift.

If we use it in a good way. Certainly can be a destructive force for evil is something that we have to watch out for the New Testament is very clear about that that our heart can find that after riches we can serve Mammon.

We can serve money so it's very dangerous but just because something is dangerous doesn't mean it is not good right and so that's what we gotta try to hold the line with today know the know well the condition of your flocks and give attention to your herds, for riches do not last forever, and does a crown endure to all generations. Now want to get into this idea of the economy of God's kingdom by saying this, this passage is not mentioning so, a seed of faith, so that one day there's a massive windfall in God's rewarding you because you you went out on faith, edict that that's not what this is getting at what this passage is getting at is saying hey when we focus on wisdom.

On the way that God is talk called us to handle something we can have a reasonable expectation of flourishing in that area and that's what this is getting out.

I will delete anything, they do not even a believer.

Okay, maybe you're like I'm here I'm about to come a couple weeks. Maybe you lead something they believe the business maybe leave the team at work or whatever.

This is leadership 101 chemistries in the Scripture.

I think what the Bible saying is what we measure tends to grow right it don't going out of business like what we measure tends to grow. That's true of a home as well. When we are thinking about our physical health or physical health has an opportunity to flourish when were thinking about our spiritual health or spiritual health as an opportunity to flourish. Next in line when were thinking about our financial help our financial health as an opportunity to flourish health is born always this important health is born always from intentionality. I stumbled into health physically know you did know, whatever did I ever write Christ. I stumbled in the spiritual help.

Didn't happen.

But if you've grown your faith in the last five or 10 years is because you are providing building blocks to go into the word you're going to times of prayer in the spirit a supercharge that like there is an intentionality to it the exact same thing is true in our financial picture as well.

If we what is saying is this a good set give attention your herds, for riches don't last forever don't understand.

Proverbs 23 five tells us that money can grow wings like a bird and be gone in a snap.

And many people of this Republic as earlier campuses.

I could see people so should you little while, you're like, man. I know that I know that's true right and if you if you do not keep your hands on the wheel and sometimes even when you do have your hands on the wheel.

It can grow wings and fly away.

And if that's true then what the Bible saying out of wisdom is. Wisdom is to pay attention. Wisdom is to have your mind on. Think about these words when it comes to financial health, wisdom, mindfulness okay thoughtfulness it shouldn't be months and months a month not even know the picture is not the opposite of thoughtfulness and mindfulness what it's saying is pay attention and when we pay attention to. We have a reasonable expectation.

Proverbs are not promises, it's not last week. Okay Proverbs are not promises. We have a reasonable expectation over the course of our life that when we plant these type of seeds through the passing days we will we will read and see a harvest of an opportunity for wealth in our lives, physical wealth, money to be able to grow and I thought about saying what churches do we have a demonize because we idolize a right note for you to stop. Idolize you and call you good… That's a way to get into know what is up anything on the New Testament. This a good thing that God would give us in his wisdom and opportunity to handle something in a wise way and to see it grow so that we can leverage it for his kingdom the lives and honor him. It's a good thing. Paul mentions this in first Timothy was in first Timothy five pieces hey SOI doesn't provide for their household. There there worse than an unbeliever is a good thing to handle money in a way that creates provision's economy of God's kingdom. Pay attention to your herds and to your flocks.

What else does Paul say the same book the first of the chapter 6 he says I charge the rich in this present age to be generous in good works. There's an opportunity when we have things we have stuff to leverage to be able to leverage it for the good of his kingdom is not a bad thing. It's a good thing. The way that God has set up the work world economy of his kingdom right. Look what it says is important to when the grass is gone and the new growth appears and the vegetation of the mountains is gathered, the lambs will provide your clothing and the goats, the price of a field not to bring told to pay attention to what produces wealth and Andino namely took to think about it, to be mindful of it, getting to maybe some of the mechanics of that here in a minute but we reported to this fact. You don't even when were looking at. It is important.

God stands behind all of it that God is moving and directing is a possible somebody handles money in a wise way. Their whole life and toward the end of their life. There are things that happen in a broken world where the link between what they did and what they have in terms of flourishing is severed absolutely possibility to live in a fallen world. These are not promises.

The Proverbs okay.

The flip side whenever we have seen that wheedling it's wisdom we see got God growing something in our life we see the things that were handling grow got the point is God's is standing behind it.

It's never outside of the context.

Yes, there is human labor. There is divine kind of nurturing and there is a divine provision is always set in the context of God standing in the background. This is what the Bible try to get us to see that we cannot have a carefree attitude. Nor can we have an all-consuming attitude.

We can have an out of sight out of mind, nor can we be obsessed will we gotta realize there's a part that we play and there's a part of the God place in standing behind it. And in that interplay and in that dance when it comes to our financial health. There is wisdom when we tend flocks and herds.

When we believe that there are produced because this is what God's wisdom for us is that what what I mean by that we were telling the flocks and herds were most of us are living in a very life okay so if I got out my money is not wrapped up in the flock to go somewhere. Okay, maybe that's not right right were you okay sending paying attention to your flocks probably looks like have a budget meeting once a week or once a month with your spouse right probably looks like having a budget. It probably looks like understanding where all the passwords to accounts and things like that are, but I think sometimes this stuff gets handed off and I don't mean to be stereotypical, but sometimes there men in a relationship there while I can't handle this part of our life. This is a is a joint venture if were married. Everybody has access to everything right.

There were all learning were all trying to become people who are financially smart and wise so that if one is gone. The other is okay in all of that right so it's it's kind of having those things is paying attention minutes is realizing an employment situation that you have the opportunity to get a match and maxing it out. This is what I'm getting at right the first full-time job I ever got the finance of Gaia the church I was working on set me down and he said amen. This is how much the church matches when you put it up a little bit aside, you know you user first offers full-time job would have a much like you put that aside, it will match it and I said do I have to do that. He said yeah you have to do thousand and 11 optional. He said no. Subsequently I learned it's illegal.

Tell somebody that okay love tells about you, but I think God right that this brother was like in your 20s that you whatever you are you 25, 26 years old like you're going to do this you're starting this when you're 25 and*to be a way to discuss her CNS is to be the way that we do. This man maybe these are some examples for ways that we tend in ways that we pay attention to appliance the point of this that is getting into now with this idea of when the grass dies and new grass comes up is that no matter how much we pay attention to how much we look at the flocks don't we understand there is a God who stands behind it all.

There is a God who stands behind it all. Maybe some of you somebody a lot of this sermon is going to be's radical young families in our church were dripping with young families over 100 kids, a kids week trying to get people to cut amulets think about the money. God's way.

But for some even hearing the site map into a money God's way for a long time and and because of that. Maybe there is passive income.

Maybe there's different streams of income that are coming into your life maybe maybe the thought of even having to worry about is a long time in your rearview hate. Don't let that dupe you into believing that it's a refuge. Don't let that dupe you into believing something about God not standing behind it all. We understand today if the rain ever stops the flocks all die without exception, can you make it rain right I was. I like this everything okay what was the whole metaphor, by the way, we all his wiggling and okay were have to translate this a couple thousand years later because if you know now becomes this giant agreement for guys it was a metaphor. The day was written. This was written to a farmer.

It was written to a king son okay right.

It was a metaphor. The date was written and we try to get us to see is pay when the winter comes all the grass dies. But you know who flips the clock between winter and spring well annoying me right I know it's not you. If winter doesn't turn the spring all the flocks die if the rain doesn't come all the flocks die. We work and we labor and we pay attention, and we know the past because the things and maybe we get accountability around our budgets and we really try to sow seeds now that will be prosperous in the future.

Understanding that the passing days that the time compounds things we have an opportunity to have something later that we can leverage for the kingdom that we don't see necessarily by what were put men today by Malachi Gardner, no Gardner never thinks about you know they're regarded as a judge the day by the harvest they judge the day by what they planted right and that's kind of forgetting that what we plan.

Think yes we labor and all that man, we gotta realize it's all in the context of what God is doing.

Ever wondered why the want the promised land was called a land flowing with milk and honey were the only one that was like the world could that possibly mean. I mean, am I the only one they could say that I am a nonaggressive kid.

I like envisioning like okay there's rivers of milk.

That's kinda cool. I like cereal. You know whatever I don't know if you ever thought about it. It's like really walk a chocolate factory or something you know you're on the boat ride on the chocolate. It's like know what the Bible is saying why is a land flowing with milk minute flows with milk because God is providing fertility for the flocks that will graze it and and and guess our labor is what YOU these things. I understand. But God is providing the fertility fertility is just one question will move on.

Do you trust your wealth as if it can never be taken away. Proverbs 1811 tell this is good okay mandible drivers still stuff like this is a little countercultural man. I think I think wealth can be used in our lives to keep us from bad decisions.

A concern would be used to help us make our decisions okay but can be used to help keep us about decisions why Proverbs 1811 says that wealth is a man's fortified city. When I take from that you have an emergency fund. Okay, it's a good thing like better things in the world that can happen and and weld is something that can help us. They are feet in the midst of that but what the Bible does say here is that wealth is a refuge like God is and are we trusting our wealth as if it's not in our life. And if we are making we repent of that today. Lakota says the lambs will provide your clothing and the goats, the price of the field there will be enough goats milk for your food for the fruit of your household and that is a weird phrase. Okay, the maintenance of your girls. Okay, evidently, the writer of Proverbs knows that girls cost a lot. Okay, I'm when I'm living proof that I understand okay amen to that. Not what it say all right what it's saying is that it's really reinforcing the whole points. The price of the milkmaid's is the point. The people who take care of the goats is making a very simple point. Even the people who care for the goat milk to go live off of what the goat brings minute they care about it is if they if they pay attention to it that all the sudden it brings to them. That's kind of, I think reinforcing the whole point of all this time we got to get into this okay every single Ellison admit maybe maybe have the sound of so many have the sound like it so far.

Everyone of these series and though everyone of these sermons and the wise family series is super countercultural when you actually begin to think about and Emma tell you why, because what the Bible is saying in general. It's not a promise. It is a proverb in general what the Bible saying is something like this and this is countercultural in 2022.

In America the Bible is saying there is a direct link between what you decide to do and what you will end up having and that is countercultural in our society are in our society we are filled with none. I know there's excuse and there is economy and there is different forces that are pushing down and and I can ever get ahead.

And there are many people understand my voice here at our campuses as well. If I just play about what I see in the culture, and a conversation I've had outside the church. I guarantee you it's creeped into the church that there are people here in our church that are thinking to yourselves I will never get ahead.

I will always struggle. I will always be paid paycheck to paycheck. I will never be able to grow anything that I can leverage and build into a life that I might be able to honor God with in a different way or even in a fuller way because it's just the way this because the system is rigged because the fix is in. Because I you know I just I just can't. And whatever it is… That's not you think that there's no way I can ever do it and I will tell you something if you think you can't, you probably absolutely can't.

If you have that type of mentality meant I can't. It's rigged, then you probably can't.

But maybe today. Proverbs chapter 27 will reestablish the economy of God's kingdom in your mind and say when you hear that your behavior will have nothing to do with future outcome when it comes to your economics and end your wealth accumulation when you need to go to his Proverbs 27 in your mind, and said no son a promise. It is a proverb, but that thing that I'm hearing from culture is a lie. It's a lie like what I can do what the Bible tell me is that of I will pay attention.

Now I'm not saying everybody gets rinsed by no means okay and this and you and the idea of generational wealth, not having a bearing on future wealth and all that men are not getting into any of that. What I'm saying is all you got is one little lamb and you think to yourself and the family thinks of something. We also little lamp that we never have nothing else all the people you know the lambs.

Many are born of those lambs. This system is rigged. It's fixed against me. I can never do anything other than what I'm doing man who cares about this little lamb let's just go ahead and even have one big party and will be in poverty the rest of our life, or maybe another family, looks, and us is that we got the one lamb we better take care of this one lamb like we better see them and brush and and walking around and and and make sure he's healthy and make sure that he exercises and make sure he's got water every day. This little lamb is sleeping in the bed with us. Okay like this lamb is going to be the greatest taking care of land that is ever been in the history of lambs and then one day were in a sheer him and one they were to take what we sheer were to take that were to go were to try to buy another lamb and then we got the two enters people to got 200,000. I'm worried about them because the point in this passage is to pay attention to your flock. That's what I said is that pay attention to your purchase. Think about what you have and we focus on that and we don't nurture that we trust God stands behind it all, but that is the point of what is here and there.

Some of us in here right now.

Tell me a lie manual like this you still think I'm try to hit as hard look at what you think it is the sermon for me as a Norseman. When you think it is that we can paycheck to paycheck. Now there's two ways that that looks back and looks super middle-class, even those pretty much financed and what's going on is actually like that I actually do have a decent job aware of who is always four things were chosen to live what I drive you how we eat and entertain and what we decide to do for our activities. We have made choices in these four things and has put us in a position to be paycheck to paycheck, never will have nothing else I'm always going to struggle and want to say this if you really believe that if you honestly believe that it will probably always be true.

But maybe the truth of Scripture can confront that today you could say man I don't like it when nobody else what you worry about is what I have but I worry about what I have. Some of you might be in a different situation. Maybe not enough smart thinning about finance in the middle class to keep up with the Joneses. It's actually it's actually more of a pot and popper situation and maybe what you're thinking or maybe one of our campuses as I do. Okay, I hear what you're saying like them all I've ever known a struggle like real struggle broken family broken neighborhood. I don't know anybody that is ever not live paycheck to paycheck. I don't know anybody that is ever not been on some type of assistance program.

I have a record all of that and here's the deal. Okay what you think it is made okay but may I the exception to this and and because of my unique set of circumstances. This is always going to be true of my life that I will not want to try to get you see is man Proverbs 27 wake you up because here's the deal product appears in his will surely Proverbs okay your circumstances can never be an excuse to live in foolishness. Whatever the circumstances are.

Because you know were not people to hear this. There like now six years old seven years all their love never lived in Ocala way like this. I never thought about these things you're talking about right now, and managed to like to start your circumstances need never absolve us from the opportunity to say God got this one lamb as well restart okay what I want to do is to pay attention to it and I'm in a trust of the economy of your kingdom. If we do the right things with it that we have a reasonable expectation to see growth that will enable baby building a life that we can leverage even now, no matter what your situation is right and I got so much on this I could say that I'm a skip ahead only going to be 323, click just just a minute or so anyways we deal with this right you. I think we've already hit what the passage means the few ways we can go with it and I will try to say allow the past. The best I can only be three quick ways to apply. This will be done are the first one is this walk in wisdom by living with margin.

The first thing we gotta commit to today.

If today is truly got me up for some of us is like man I don't buy, keep doing thing I'm doing.

I can never get out of if you really believe you'll never get out.

You never get out right but for some that are willing to be challenged by the coming of God's kingdom through his word and what he says about money. If that's where you are now were the starting place okay and starting places. There's a lot of ways we go with the first lamb to talk about his with margin here walk in wisdom you know by living with margin, leaving a probable click okay. Precious treasure. Proverbs 2120 and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours in a way that I remember that verse and having learned, it is a full 801 what you think about it is a foolish man devours all that they have the first principle I think in Proverbs is really get into what you do with margin, but the first thing is, do you have any margin in your life. Every margin physically rest every margin spiritually are you are used.

Are you filled up with so many relationships that you don't have time to sit before God by dark days are no margin is there margin in your life financially at all and and here's what we think they were like man I don't have any margin a month-to-month. We don't have anything that could compound in the wealth, much less to be able to give away what we think is you have an income problem and probably what we have is a lifestyle choice problem. What we think is we have an income problem. That's what we all think that's what of Vander Holyfield thought at the height of his fame were $200 million income problem. They don't listen to don't matter how big the front doors of the back doors open. If you buy a $24 million mansion you get divorced, you get on the hook to pay for everything want your kids private education and all their college funds and you get in a $500,000 lawsuit with a lawn care company you are worth $200 million you will get foreclosed on with what happened, you will lose it all. I did my point is this, many of us right now we look at that sort of interval is alive and I could never do so like this, like it had that much money I could never in a million years. Figure out a way to end up squandering it. And yet if you just if you just dial the zeros that were doing the same thing all it is is I've chosen a lifestyle and a lifestyle doesn't match with what my income could be if I built margin to be able to invest and give into that that that's really all that is if I could never be Vander Holyfield yet your mortgage is 65% of your take-home pay that don't work like that is the work it will work on paper it never worked on paper but keeping up with the Joneses kink put us in this situation were like man I gotta live there.

My point is this. We make choices in those four areas.

Man, where we live, what we do what we eat what we draw. We got not really, comes out or does it we make those choices and I will call some of us today to commit to margin. No matter what it means and memos say that again okay commit to margin. No matter what it means you no matter what it means. I that's what I mean. No matter what it means. So house moves manufactured housing. Some people like man I could never drive a car that's not less than five years old was like well that's a problem there's 20 People Dr. cars. There's 25 years old and get on YouTube and learn how to be their own mechanic and and and you could do that, then there is like were more it will take to the patient were shown were never to get ahead, but there's a two week $10,000 vacation in the budget and it was it was it was never it never worked on paper and the problem you know what what I talked about him. I got some from last week and he was talking a man really a room and affected him and he was in his reservoir and all that and I said amen.

I've heard a lot this week I said what what you think is the exact reason I know God does what he does. But what is the reason that last week's sermon, got into the way they did and he said man it was because it was so simple and that's how the Proverbs are in it is.

It's like man. We don't like it.

Nothing. It's easy, but is not complicated, it is a space. A simple thing. Well, I could never do that will recycle scores of people who didn't like. This year we had a refugee family move him one of our families connect with them okay they connect with them and they started talking about finance and this family moved into housing it was provided for them through government thing it was it was it was a gives a crazy situation ever come out of out of the Middle East. He takes a job working for a.m. to 4 PM and a chicken factory one hour from here making less than $15 an hour but you know they chose to do not spend any money right is like when our kids do a lot of activities if their free we eat things that we have cooked in our house exclusively.

We don't take trips, we ride the bus and soon 1/2 years later they just saved up the money they paid for car in cash and it just put a down payment on a house. Note that this is not just some of our people discipling to say hey actually been the God we serve in the Bible, loved his people enough not just to die for them and not just bricks that actually show them how the pathway when it comes to resources and finance and this is what he said no story came out this week one of our city project. Students was talking about how I was getting the story from the new book babysits millionaires, but I instead use a story from Hoechst the same story. She said man when we single single-family home multiple kids single month.

She said when we were kids. My mom is this amazing is that we are kids.

My mom buys extravagant things to make up for the fact we really have a lot with which which meant I like man on the face of it, as I do I feel like I could totally sympathize with that right as I know we don't have a lot so I get a chance to Christmas when I get a chance to do just her shoes whatever minima do them a go overboard because I want you to feel like you say that I week we can all sabotage with all that, until the day that her mother you all this home. They were so compassionate that no not not forget compassionate wisdom and with the mindset that the whole family down and tells all the kids say all of this talk is gonna stop I'm not doing the stuff anymore with the extravagant gifts we can afford that. I want to build something for your future for city projects. It is going to her senior year of college debt-free because her mama pay for that.

That's kind of what I mean.

It is looking at and say no. We will commit to margin matter what it means.

Because there is a prosperous, there's this prosperous thing. The God might have for us in the future. Second thing I got a quick with this walk in wisdom by investing the margin. Okay now maybe to notice I'm not your financial advisor. Okay that's not what I'm here to do.

There's many of you in here right now they can opine in ways I could not on this and I want I will tell you, there's a very basic point embedded in this passage hears what he says the lambs will provide your clothing. Listen to me and the goats.

The price of a field. Now you gotta be a farmer or rocket scientist to answer this question, what is the point of buying another field with what you got off the goat appointed by another field is you take the goats and have more fields for them to graze on to have more milk which leads end up having more goats and more fields and more milk and more goats morally right.

This is just the very basic idea of something that compounds in us was getting at here them not to get them out not getting into where you should put your case you got the ugly ways a go go figure that out on your own with the point is that margin is supposed to make money, not just a fancy lifestyle are the margin in our life is supposed to be used. In some ways to think about that slow build like a gardener. The opposite is also mentioned many times in the book of Proverbs which is get-rich-quick schemes right. This is why hit the lottery so much about the only thing worse than losing the lottery is one of the lottery are you looking people in their life and you see, what is it it's it's trying to catch a windfall rather than plant seeds for the passing days supply sees now that we will read later college students family talk together many of your home.

But anyhow.

Students in this passage because so many of you are concerned with what job to get an order that you can make the type of money that you want to make when you get out of college and maybe what you don't realize is you should be way more concerned with the type of lifestyle, your to set up in the amount of money did you make because the amount of money that you make not paired with the lifestyle that you have is not about what you make. It's about what you keep. It's about what doesn't fly out the back door through lifestyle enhancement right in order that you would have margin so that margin would be able to have an opportunity to grow and as it grows we have a chance to build a life that we can leverage and invest holistically in all of our facets. Man I'm way out of time arrives so severe that I had to bring us back to just kind of decision point here meant some of us I think need to just kinda decide so much.

We talk about what a proverb and we can start getting into the idea that in cosigning stuff. The ministers we talk about a lot of things but I think right here in this passage is very simple, but when we do with the excess when it is provided and mentally always leveraging that in the economy of God's kingdom to be able to see it grow.

I so decision time. Men are we willing no matter what stage and what background and where red light and whatever has been said to us, our whole life about how our behavior doesn't matter, it's always good to be the way that it is whatever all will lay all that down to say no, stand, Lord like I'm on on it, trust you, trust your path not to trust my uncle Rick Rico, whatever.

This broke okay and all his financial advisor.

He's given me not to trust the latest YouTube sensation and crypto. It ought not to trust all this, that what I want to try to do is stand on the word them and try to treat money the way you talk about, as if it's a garden on the plan things that will grow right if it were like man. I'm not sure I can trust God with the understandings loud voices in our society just like his love was in the way we raise kids, there's a lot of voices around the stuff in our society, and all I would do is I would say this also listen to this verse Proverbs 27, 26, the lambs will provide your clothing. You know, I know you can trust God's way with money so that your land, your clothing will be provided. Because he's Artie done at one time to the ultimate lamb right except it wasn't just for our prosperity meant it was far very life. Jesus Christ was the Lamb that came and was slain so that we could be clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

If there is a God who provided the Lamb to save me that I can trust him to provide clothing for me through me paying attention to the flocks and him blessing manager will take that step today.

Your will to think about that now will call you think about financial peace.

You guys can through the side of their with financial peace. This is coming up manna starting here and it in just a couple months and I want you guys we think about maybe it's an opportunity to jump him pay.

If that feels like it's too long because it's like man I think two months away or whatever it is that hears or wants to do. I want you to grab a campus pastor whatever campus you're at and just tell them like man I just want to be paired up with some people who've walked this road. We have so many people would've walked this road to financial peace that we will hook you up with them and maybe there can start a little relationship there little bridge you over to get all the way to that… Financial peace class starting in September arrived a lasting and this is the conclusion third and final things mentally call the whole church to walk in wisdom by giving generously okay now some your pricing.

A man I knew you were to get here. Okay that's fine I and I am to get here because men, how else can we declare before God that money is good, but is not God, what other ways is the Bible given us other than leveraging it for his kingdom and generosity to be able to show their with what you have given me. I am going to honor you know if that bothers you in your new to Mercy Hill take everything about to say.

I mean this sick everything about to say give it to the pregnancy network given to freedom house given to him as Haven. Very worthwhile causes. In our community that we try to put volunteers into men do that are shirtless in our church is doing fantastic when it comes to financial health right now and and we what the last thing we need is a bunch of begrudging nonsurgical giving okay right so if you like make you some cutaway then just take everything I'm saying and think about another organization in our society. But here's a site.

How else can we say God I am picturing with my life.

You are standing behind the rain stops. The flocks died doesn't matter what I've done this if she seasons don't change how else do we declare God is yours this are generosity pathways for throwing up real quick, this is the Bible talks about the ties the tightest 10% of what comes in our house. Going back into his kingdom and into his work right now. That was before listen to go back to the time you like to take you to go back to Abraham death before the law was even written okay so you don't do ties like baked in May get to the New Testament. Sorry about the Tiedeman when you see what Jesus gave us is likely the tide becomes the floor not the ceiling on it becomes like the absolute bottom so you might be like man I don't know me. How can I ever get there and they were also crushed all the stuff I just try to think about margin more than you need to begin today. You got to think that's I know you need to begin today. So how do I begin. Here is how you begin one of those organizations.

That's fine. Trust Mercy Hill enough to leveraging resources that I would say to do this goal. If you're in a crazy metadata like man I can't fathom the thought of even doing anything like this. Okay the lease to this, go online.

Set up a reoccurring gift of $5.10 dollars*somewhere Have Heather be a part of your life is about paying attention to the herds and the flocks and doing things God's way and give yourself a mentor minor month in and month out, man. I'm going to start this journey, I mean man I would push it all the time but I know that that minute. So was it like to that is so far outside of their*somewhere arrived to Mercy Hill today Univision detection Del Monte giving cash to others of you in here today is like this, others view here you're not that place worth like when I need to be given put money to begin a reoccurring gift and some of you, God has blessed me immensely. He has blessed immensely for some of us in here may giving our time has become such autopilot.

We don't even think about it anymore. If we don't think about how monitoring is to God even if it doesn't affect our life at all. CS Lewis said how much I give only safe bet more than you can spend her okay so I succumbs that place where excitement matches you got mangoes bless you mentally are you declaring today.I know that you stay all my labor to all of my work sits in the context of you standing behind me stopped raining. Why, because you are the owner you are the ones he owns the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof.

When would you declare that in today by really evaluating in your life for God in terms of doing must pray father we come before you and I Lord we want to do life by your design, pray for those in the room today that the fill little shaken by the teaching of Proverbs 27 God I pray that you would convince them of what your word says that there is a link between their behavior and what you might want to do in their lives and giving them things that they can leverage building a life that glorifies you pray that you would convince some in this room that are like man I is not relevant. I have and I could never got six steps to not use circumstance as an excuse for foolishness.

Lord I pray right now that there will be people that all of our campuses, maybe even today that are seeing this and they become so convinced of your love for them. Maybe they even give their life to you not just her money to you today got for you to work through the series and cry same payment
