This is Michael Brown. Welcome to the broadcast coming your way from our studio in Dallas at Christ for the nation's run teaching this week.

Becoming away from here the next couple of days before heading back home to North Carolina. If you have a question of any kind related to the Bible, theology, morality, church and politics any of those things is that we talk about here in the line of fire. Give me a call 866-348-7884 got a refocus topic on the talk about today but you have a question that's totally unrelated and I hope to get some calls as well.

Today, 866-348-7884 that is the number to call. Also if if you have been involved in the situation where maybe you were the one to take a courageous stand.

You are the one to push back. You were the one to speak out and that launched others. Others became bold or strong.

Maybe your pastor and and in your denomination.

Things were going in the wrong way and it seemed privately. Everybody felt the same way, but no say it publicly is too dangerous to speak up. You spoke up, and then others joined it. Or maybe you are one of those that followed, another courageous voice you have the testimony of to hear from you as well. 866-348-7884 Billy Graham said this courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand. The spines of others are stiff courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand. The spines of others are stiff. How many times have we seen that happen. Afraid it's too costly to speak. I canceled under the speak unlike you stand for this.

And because one person stands Samaritan Austin Austin Austin Austin many many years ago, old I'm thinking back 30 years I was in the midst of a very intense travel schedule and I was off one flight on another international travel, national travel is little bit worn out. Living in the Maryland DC area. On my way to the airport in the morning and I say to myself, okay, I'm going to leave extra early because the last thing I want is to be rushing parking my car right from your getting to therefore barely on time been going day and night, so I leave early, but there's a lot of traffic, Maryland, DC, Virginia area so lot more traffic than I expected and I'm looking at my watch, thinking okay so you get there early, but not nearly as early as a plant now will start moving traffic starts moving another bad traffic And I'm looking at my watch, thinking on those can be tight to get there and just as can be a push.

So think to myself, okay, the shoulder, advocating some Susan's example I've noticed that the shoulder of course the cigarettes referral and how we get that extra that the shoulder line itself driving it's it's wide open. It's empty and I thought well maybe… Slate I don't want to get what different late of gunk at Trafalgar Minister. I thought what you know what drop into that lane and start driving. And if if a policeman stops mail just tell the truth and whatever happens happens just like I get there so I do that with its justified or not selfish. Okay, technically I shouldn't give you a story or so I'm driving there and to my surprise immediately. I looked in my rearview mirror and there's a Mexican older woman. She drops right behind the eczema behind hermits of the moment, I didn't. Everybody knew it was always open. It was all. But nobody was willing to do it the moment I did it now everybody that it was safe will finally traffic starts to to fill in an arrears okay I gotta get back in to the main highway here so and I a car start pulling and is the gap so I figured no one under Napoleon and and leave room on the slowdown with the woman behind me get ahead of me. I'll make sure she has room to get in so I do that to be polite over driving further because that the shoulder had filled up now were driving further and I see her pointing over to the right, like the shoulders open. I can see she can see better. She's ahead of two points over the shoulders open and I think all she must know I'm in a hurry or something that's very nice of her. So I pull out the bye-bye plot she drops beyond, yet she wanted to do it but somebody else had a leave. Okay, I know it's just a story for the police that are listing. I don't need to advocate driving on the shoulder muscles.

A life-and-death emergency okay so I repent of that but you get the point when one person just said I'm gonna do it needs to be done. I'm going to do it. Everybody else follows. I've been in situations like that where overall you do with this when I said look, I'm so sorry I just don't feel that's right we shouldn't do it like this show the leadership meeting with a bunch of of sovereign leaders and and the single guy will say, but everybody agreed to this, Mike. You're the outlier in the normal signal.

Actually, I never felt right about it. But in deference because you guys agreed. I went along than the next guy asked.

I never felt right about it either, but because she did that so there's only one person. The room that want to go that direction, I was the senior leader everybody else had a problem with it but because this will agree that we need.

They all agree in them, but I wasn't so courageous I just didn't agree on a slice I just can't go along with this, only to be disrupted schedule. While it does. Everybody felt the same way, but no one would speak up into one person spoke up. This might be you at school you might be in class and they will your preferred gender pronouns and you just don't feel right. Going along with that I am a Mike Bessette not Mike getting my PG appeaser. He hammered Mike retell the professor privately. I'm really sorry but I can't call Sally him. I can't do that I can't do that.

Good conscience and maybe you speak up annexing students across the campus or to speak up. Maybe some faculty. 'We can post some students even if we think it's right annexing parents chime in. You might change the whole policy but just being the one art so during the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King was nonviolent, but he was an activist he would do different things. There would be public protests but they would all be nonviolent, there would be boycotts of things, but they were all nonviolent, but the people that were against them were violent so the nonviolent protesters are getting attacked there. The others all kinds wrist to their laws to their jobs and things like that. So some of the leaders was Dr. King said maybe we should change your strategy know we shouldn't get violent that maybe we shouldn't be so activist and confrontational.

Maybe just for things to change more gradually, it is more pragmatic, so it is March 8, 1965.

It's a great scene.

Those watching will will see it otherwise is your listening picture church building. Dr. King speaking inside of it and entered Cheyenne crowd listening by loudspeaker. This is what Dr. King says she addresses these very real concerns about how they are rare. I thought about is that not stirring is is that not speech of speeches is that not the message that that we die we refuse to stand for that which is right and true and just that we can go on breathing we go on surviving. But are we really living when you lose your self-respect when you lose your dignity when you lose your value as a human being when you have to violate your convictions in and compromise your conscience for the sake of of a promotion on your job or to not lose friends on social media were not lose tithing support your church. We really living. Isn't this what Jesus was talking about when he said that if you save your life, you lose it. If you lose your life for my sake and the gospel you find it is, isn't that place of courage. The place that you and I need to be what is the word of God say Ephesians 6 be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Maybe by nature your timid maybe by nature your your soft-spoken reserve. Maybe by nature, you hate confrontation, but by calling you are bold.

Remember Joshua four times in Joshua one is told strong and courageous three times by the Lord one time by the people that would indicate to me that either by nature. This man was a general and a conqueror and a leader by nature he was. Not that strong, or now in his 60s or older. He needs little encouragement, be strong in the Lord you're the one that needs to take the stand and the spines of others stiff line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown get on the line of fire by calling 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown is drawing us.

6634 truth yet sounds like a computer getting some sound. For some reason popping through my earphones are not your words coming from Hope you're not hearing on the air, but it's a start from somewhere where we will fix it but when were on the road and the various studios we can have little glitches, but we got a fabulous team working on all right. If you are coming onto this topic or you got a question for me or you want to challenge me on something 866-348-7884 before I go to the phones I want to talk more about the subject of courage.

More about this call to take a stand. I'm not talking about being obnoxious. I'm not talk about being nasty, self-righteous, mean-spirited. I'm simply talking about obeying or conviction, simply talk about doing what's right because it is right. The problem is it's often costly.

There, there may be many hardships before others rise up and heard it may take many rising up before there's a national change. Look, it's happening in Iran right now with women saying without were in the job were not religious Muslims, and without wearing the job. Many are dying men and women are dying in Iran. But what's gonna happen is that the more the dye the more outrage will come in the more outrage that comes the more people will stand in the more people that stand, the more the government is going to have to back down.

It's it's the way that things happen. It can be costs that you might be ostracized by your denomination.

You might be kicked out your business.

But if you do what's right before the Lord and honor him. He will have your back CT stud was a wealthy man in England came from an aristocratic home and was a top cricket player at Cambridge where he went to school so cricket being too England. What baseball is to America in terms of a great national pastime, and if you were a national store, you are a national store and he was he was going to be a great cricket store. God calls them from there to service missionary goes to China, but then serves at his life living sacrificially in Africa. She wrote a poem called chocolate soldiers were talked about these Christians who like chocolate soldiers that melt in the heat. He was like a general calling Christian soldiers to battle nonviolent war not with physical weapons, not with hatred and violence.

But living radicalized of obedience to Jesus and surrendered overcoming evil with good at overcoming hatred with love. Let them eat this that CT stud's actual voice but this is reading a CT stud's words about manliness about the type of courage and strength.

This will inspire you and stir you as well long have we been waiting for one another again. I am awaiting his passing, moving our God has strong wars declared God's holy name. What is Verizon bill, the God of heaven. He would like for us as we for him will not build on the sand with other men wrong the same all OSHA and that manly holiness. That's from, and that's for women. That's that's what were talking about one.

One more clip to play.

This is from last year.

Dr. Ben Carson on Alex Marlowe's podcast on the Breitbart network the talk about transgender issues there talking about things that are being done to children and how much pressure there is for people not to speak up and speak out so let's listen here to what Dr. Ben Carson has to say in this interview with Alex Marlowe and why do you feel like it so hard to get a when it's so clear on this one. It's so hard to get aim to give momentum from our perspective it seems like it seems like this is one where people are just not being vocal enough, and if you are vocal your book gets canceled to get thrown off of social media. You can say a man is a man or and and a woman is a woman arouse your risk and cancellation where we going wrong here in terms of our activism in our national anthem in the last line of the first answer that says the land of the free and the home of the great and popular.

If not, home of the bridge you got to be willing to stand up. Yes mate. Maybe there are some consequences. So what there were consequences for our founders, but if they were willing to accept the consequences. We would still be under British rule. So you know stopping chickens.

Thank you Dr. insightful will believe and if we just allow them to have a platform and to dictate everything without resistance.

Then they went stop being chickens so we have the inspirational words of Dr. King spoken with how power and force. We know ultimately his Stan cost him his life. We have the words of CT stud with this powerful music carrying along there. We got Dr. Ben Carson, in an interview saying stop being chickens. Yes, there will be consequences to obedience. There will be consequences to doing what is right, but that is why we are here did Jesus say to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Matthew 633. Did we say in Matthew 510 Blessed truly happy are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for greatest reward in heaven, from the same with father's forefathers persecuted the prophets were before this and Paul say in Romans 1417 that the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit is later calling to do what is right and staffer was or is nothing that runs through the entire Bible. So, I will encourage some of you this is divinely timed it any day. I would talk about this is relevant, but for some of you as you listen. Listen live on radio or a week later, on podcast or watching a live stream hours after the show. However, you're taking the sin. This is the moment that God's getting it into your hands, and for some, it's really providential future facing a difficult decision to what's right.

It's going to be costly to what's right.

Honor God and perhaps you will spark something were others follow were others or strengthen strict repeat with Billy Graham said courage is contagious.

When the brave man takes a stand. The spines of others will be stiffened. Maybe you're the one to do it in your community in your business in your school in your church in your denomination in your organization. Maybe you're the one to take that stand because you cannot live with the compromise and when you do what's right, to be sure of this, God will be pleased and you will be positively change it may be the trend of losing a lot in the short term but gaining a lot in the long term it could be that what you do will spark Reformation and change and all you are trying to do is do what's right and one little thing, but as a domino effect of of a bring about change in a massive level, but I want encourage courage is contagious. Know that the flipside to that is cowardice is contagious and when you're thinking maybe understand maybe. And then this will more that will more that one won't like. Why bother.

So you lead the way. Encourage or you going to lead the way in cowardice may be courage, maybe strength if you say Lord I will have this in the but I want to do what's right. You step out in obedience and he will give you what you need. She will help you say Lord I don't even know how to take that step but but I'm yours. He will give you the wisdom he will give you the platform will give you the opportunity.

Courage is contagious.

Let's be the brave man the brave woman that takes Stefan as far on radio here to help spark a gospel based moral and cultural revolution through seeing a healthy revive church and out of that scene the gospel go to the nations, and out of that seeing Israel say that's what were here right we come back I'm going to start with your calls will start with the Minnesota Israel, Delaware, 866-3147 884 the big announcement we come back. Dr. Michael Brown on the line of fire by: 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown. I was about to make a major announcement, but I'm just confirming that I can announce that I'm not premature, thoughtful hangout regret of major announcement coming sometime this week. I thought it was today but I'm just waiting for confirmation on that.

But you'll be excited. We do give it 8663 foray eight 784. One quick thing that were going to the phones. I became aware of the newsgroup skillet through something that John Cooper had written. I was of course there were very, very well known in the in the Christian rock scene and known just in general is as is a rock band but very will notice as Christian rockers. With over 2 billion downloads online and things best-selling albums projects, but I didn't know them, just as a lot of music them unaware of today. For years, but when a Hill song worship leader said that he would no longer believe what he used to believe was a really strong clearheaded response from following John Cooper that this group skillet since I found out about the why like what he saying and how he saying excellent, but I still didn't know much about your music and Dr. James White said hey I'm friends with John Cooper.

I think you two guys need to connect and is charismatic also. So he gave us contact info John reached out to me got to know each other and and he is rock solid. He is taking controversial stands and it was didn't know John first, then the music so maybe some of the musical different you get get to know John gets of the others in the band. Here the hearts of men. And listen back to the music made with fresh years but I am confrontational by nature. In other words, if there's a controversy and I know in answer to it or some I run towards it, by nature, so I have to I have to be obedient to the Lord and be full of full of his loving grace. So when I do address something. It's not because I want to but because he wants me to want to do it in a gracious Christlike way while confronting Eric clearly John's like confrontation, but he speaks boldly because he must because fire burns in his heart. You must sew some your wired like me so in that case what you need is wisdom when to speak when not to not to think that you're supposed to fix incorrect everything all the time to make sure you have God's heart of love for those who differ with and that you're full of the spirit those that may be really timid or it's just a confrontation get you so tense. Okay, that's a are by nature so you really need God's grace to embolden you and realize it's not about you it's about others. Remember that this matter you are. I feel upset about us, it's about others silicates the same deal you're in a crowded building.

Use your fire breaks out one part of the building. I'm a shy, doesn't matter.

Others need to be worn to get out of the building.

So you go against your timid nature and you scream at the top of your lungs fire watches you want to save other people's lives is what it comes down to right we go to the phones we hang out come from okay you make so sorry to keep your whole are apps or apps are an art.

Okay. Without further ado, we go to the phones Jesse in Twin City Minnesota. Thanks for holding welcome to the line of fire.

Dr. Brown I just wanted it. Bright Catholic back.

Speaking Meana rather profound way.

But I do have a question about that young man that no two weeks ago.

On Sunday I basically came clean. I said in church.

I said you know I want God to purify my motive. I know I'm not perfect. Imagine all that and caused me to make a video that later. Later that day about holiness and how we ought to live a holy people and then the next week. On Saturday I decided to give up smoking. Now I was doing so good and and I just really on fire and and I think I got past the hardest part. But then you know I was starting to like have bad sleep patterns and these are withdrawal symptoms, and I messed up so I'm just wondering I'm trying to do the right thing. I'm trying to get on fire people to be holy as Christian. And yeah, what you do when you mess up what you do when you pick it backward what you so I'm sure you know this is not the first person. This happened with right you you made it a decision you feel back by God recited Easter publicly and and and then you fall back. It happens to many that one thing is it's it's normally wise to it.

If you going just to something initially can get a publicly and say hey I've made the decision to stop smoking and and and just pray for grace and strength for me and before you really talk about it more and and and proclaim it more. It's often good to live it out first to live it out to prove it. And like when I wrote my book about transfer lifestyle of all the weight that I lost in all that I done it and I was writing about it as a poster I I have an idea arrived is taken a stand for day so you don't want a widely circulated testimony or exhort others to follow in your steps until you you're more established restraints say but number one you, of course, first and foremost you go to the Lord, right, first and foremost you go to the Lord to confess to him, and of course he's he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us. Ron writes the subsidy measure salvation smoking cigarettes but Laura Blewitt, forgive me, wash me that's the first thing the second thing is if you see that you have continue strong and that a week goes by a month goes by year goes by having felt fall back in the further you go the easier it is to stay strong.

Praise God.

The fact you must've wants.

Later on you can talk about so yeah you know what that is, the first week I really struggle I messed up one day, but by God's grace got back on track. You don't need to now go public again, which is your obvious question and say I just want to confess nominal deal with that between you and the Lord if you you you you you are struggling in your up and down you go to video posts or by all means pull that video I but if it's just a momentary lapse, you fell one day, another day, another it's a week later two weeks, months, etc., praise God, then what I would do if I do video up but I just post something say it's been six months of the grant messed up one time in the first week and upgrade. It's been six months.

I this year. Praise God and and be strong and be encouraged and marched forward and others will be as were saying.

Others will be encouraged by that 866-34-TRUTH you know somebody gets radically set free from drugs. One day, and you're all excited you're pastoring a congregation having extended evangelistic meetings and and God's saving people right and now here's this this this young fellow Joey is 19 years old he's been struggling with drug addiction for two years and he sweeping it throughout his radically set free.

He's changed. You don't want to bring Joey up on the platform. The next night and the next week and that he becomes a bit of a celebrity and everybody know what you want to do is you may want to say Prescott last night young man got set free from drugs and and let's pray, or call them up. Let's pray for. Then you cover that person because they're gonna come under more attack. If you put them forward first.

You cover them.

This is a much better chance of them falling back if you make them into a bit of a celebrity in the church so just a word of warning and caution there.

All right let us go over to Israel Martin, thanks for calling the line of fire.

Dr. Brown I hope you can hear me calling you from Israel. So yeah like you're right next to me. Well I'm really honored you, and communicated with you by messenger. It takes a lot of courage to be a believer here in Israel and talk to you about the you know the counter missionary voices, especially rubber finger here, though I personally encountered on the streets of Jerusalem, and I guess I'm just calling you because that he recently had a video where he was talking about how the antichrist the whole concept of the antichrist is just pagan dualistic, and it I did some surface research and I mean you have Daniel chapter 7, you have Daniel chapter 11 the king who magnifies himself above all, God big things against the God of God and just a little research that I did into you know him midrash team and things like that you have disfigure our mother, who is like you know this and can't figure who it and Rabbi Singer said all of that that is wrong with the code word wrong but I read the midrash team and they even describe are maliciously personal care. I noticed the shows about courage and that takes a lot of courage to be a believer here in Israel, wanted your take on on specifically when Rabbi Singer said antichrist just pagan dualism on it seemed so much that it comes from from duty and not from yeah so so here's the and and Mark. May the Lord strengthen you and encourage you and and again did open the phone lines for wide range of subjects on a very very happy to to address this, but think rat Rabbi Singer is not an honest guy. There are counter missionaries that I know that act with integrity that I've interacted with some for 20 years more and what you read, even though we differ strongly there really acting integrity. Unfortunately, because of the level of deception involved. Rabbi Singer is not one of those corset say it to his face once again say I'm here to debate an issue presents or as I have been for over 20 years. But hunger set the record straight until you what the issue with Rabbi Singer's methodology and so deceptive about the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown get on the line of fire by calling 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown to download the app okay again listening and situate, you can't do it, but as soon as you get a chance, Apple, android, download the ASQ Dearborn at the ask Dr. Brown app. If you enjoy it rated and tell your friends about okay, so back to back to Martin in Israel so there are academician or rabbis that put out the material and they will differ with me and we've had exchanges sometimes in the hundreds of pages back and forth and and they are operating in integrity. In other words, they're not withholding information from you and not giving you a false impression. I may differ with the research their conclusions, but there doing it. Honestly, ethically, the issue was Toby Singer. Is he doesn't tell you what Judaism believes. For example, he'll say the servant of the Lord Isaiah 42, 49, 50, 53, it's Israel and it's always Israel will does he tell you that the Targum Ed, which is the recognized translation paraphrase of the Hebrew Bible and Aramaic with the Targum to Isaiah 42 16. The servant there is the Messiah just to tell you that read Doc one of the big three medieval commentaries Jewish leading commentaries that he says it's the Messiah does he tell you that rabbinic interpretation largely says Isaiah 49 is the prophet and the reason is called Israel. In verse three is because he represents the nation.

Does he tell you that they recognize. Isaiah 50 is about the profit or profits in general know why because that would undermine his arguments and and does he tell you that Isaiah 52, 13 to 15 that that major midrash, which is then cited or or or reference by one of the great preachers about 500 years ago of emotional stress that he says all the rabbis with at with one voice interpret this about the Messiah and that shifts through Isaiah 53, though he can't tell you any of that because it undermines his position. So what he's effectively doing is being like a Carol I juju just accept the authority of Scripture and rejects rabbinic tradition that will present at all as a rabbi and is an Orthodox rabbi, of course, legitimately is not an ordained Orthodox rabbi and are presented in such a way with appeal to Jewish people in the citation from the prayer book and exhortations without telling you. By the way I my position here is at variance with traditional commentaries or is at variance with the tall motor survey is to tell you that is why in the world was Melissa Rabbi Singer as opposed to recognize Jewish tradition. So when it comes to the question of antichrist which is presenting in such a way to say is just a dualistic idea as a Christian idea, etc. right so your research is correct anybody. Check don't don't listen to me. Just type this is a free resource online respected scholarly resource over hundred years old highly respected in Jewish scholarship. Type in the words Jewish encyclopedia and then antichrist. Okay so when you and as you were talking I was typing this and so I could pull this up myself by Louis Ginsberg, one of the great Jewish scholars of a century ago, the compiler of the legends of the Jews, I mean an absolute brilliant scholar, highly highly respected in Jewish academia.

To this day. So let me read to you what Louis Ginsberg said, and in the academic world.

No disrespect to Rabbi Singer but just realism. If you're talking about a respected scholar in the rabbinic world. If Ginsberg would be 100. Rabbi Singer would it would be on the chart 60s not a scholar in the in the rabbinic world. It wouldn't be there so this is what Louis Ginsberg says origin of the idea as to the idea of the antichrist like Jewish eschatology itself is derived from three sources, prophetical teachings meaning in the Bible. Later midrash so later, homiletical interpretations of the rabbis, and an admixture of heathen mythology so that other Judaism other views Cummins well into Julia's right so Ezekiel 38, 39 speaking of the last great outpouring of the heathen powers against Israel which outpouring is to introduce the new. Foretold by the ancient prophets names gold the Prince of the land of Mongo as the representative of those powers the same idea amplified is found in Zechariah 12 through 14. Regards describes appearing upon Zion at the last hour with his host of angels to protect his own from the attacks of the heathen, and to give them victory when their fill in the Maccabean.

The Jews first of perceive the Chaz him between Judaism and hedonism. The idea of a presentation of the philosophy of world history was conceived.

And I really carried out Daniel so he's a liberal scholar believes that Daniels would later but same thing sources within Daniel or in the seventh after the eighth chapter mentioned in the 11th chapter. It was no more question of the salvation of Israel in the future but of the redemption of the whole world.

So it goes on Alonso this is a thoroughly Jewish concept, and that now cannot look at this. Okay, just as the Haggadah so the the homiletical literature through its interpretation of ancient prophecies endeavored to furnish a close description of the personality of Messiah.

Similarly, antichrist receive more and more definite forms derived from the descriptions and conceptions of the Old Testament. He was, for instance. So this is antichrist in Jewish literature very early identified with gold go demagogue so Ezekiel 3839. Such a midrash is clearly evident in the Septuagint sent translation of numbers 14 seven so that this is translation Septuagint. The Toby recognizes Rabbi Singer recognizes for the five books of Moses right that the power the Septuagint translation numbers 14 seven. Compare also of the of adults are all three be so in the Talmud and Sanhedrin 94 a in the Talmud and his death expounded is ready were marked according to Isaiah 11 for so this is what would grievance me going dark yet I noticed also that the Targum Jonathan in Isaiah 11. Poor men jumped arm of the binary objects in exactly so so that the issue I have is not with a rabbi, not believing in Jesus issue I have is not with a rabbi saying or tradition differs with you here, or interpretation of Scripture different.
