You're listening to life path biblical instruction with practical application on Brandon where and I want to welcome you to my podcast today is Friday, January 15, 2021 at today's devotional thought comes from Psalm 12 verse six which says the words of the Lord are pure words like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.

You don't one of the most pressing questions in our lives is this question who cannot trust with all this talk nowadays about fake news. We wonder if there is truly someone we can trust to tell us the truth is there really anyone that we can trust anyone that we can truly confide in. Is there really anyone that we can speak openly and candidly with and is there anybody that we know will just tell us the honest truth will these are some issues that David was dealing with when he wrote this song. Psalm 12 and he states the problem in verse one as he cries out save old Lord for the godly man is gone. He says the faithful have vanished from among the children of man. Everyone utters lies to his neighbor with flattering lips and the double heart they speak in other words, falsehood is the currency of the day when David looked around at his generation.

He noticed that double standards were the norm. Truth was nowhere to be found.

I know that's not just true of David's day, but it pretty much sums up our day.net I made in my mind that sums up the cultural and political scene of our own day.

Everyone has their own spin on any given situation, totally, completely, irrespective of the facts rather than reporting the news the media now tells us what to believe about the news rather than transparency. Our politicians cloak their language in the garb of flattery and empty promises. Where are the faithful to be found. The question that David asks it's the same question that we ask even now where is the fateful man or woman. Well what the psalmist wants us to recognize is this in contrast to the flattering lips, boastful tongues and worthless words of sinful man. In contrast to these are the true and trustworthy words of God. His words are pure words and that word pure they are, translates the Hebrew word that means to be ceremonially clean to be free from all moral defilement, God's words can be trusted because they are true and honest. God's word is truth without any mixture of error. No spin whatsoever. And so, if you're wondering just who to trust these days. Let me tell you, you can trust the Lord Jesus said in John 14. I am the way, the truth and the life.

And you know that some really good news in these days of deception. Well, that's today's devotional thought if we can minister to you in any way you can contact us by email connect@greenstreet.org.
